She was looking for quiet. She found them instead.
Starlight Grove needs a new Lighthouse Keeper and Olive Autumn Harvest needs a fresh start. Preferably one with as much solitude as possible. So, her new job and isolated ocean cottage is perfect—except for the eccentric, meddling townspeople, and the cat who’s adopted her.
When the town wins a grant for lighthouse restoration, Olive is forced to let the contractors into her space…a company comprised of three hot alphas:
Easton, her golden retriever stalker.
Lars, the steady, protective viking.
And Finn, who’s hiding a pain that matches her own.
Suddenly, these guys are everywhere—and they’re completely unfazed by Olive’s prickly personality as they try to care for her, protect her, and court her.
But everyone in this relationship is holding on to secrets… and it might not just be the lighthouse that needs restoration.
A Pack for Autumn is a standalone MFMM why choose small town romance. It is part of the Cozyverse shared universe, bringing you cozy omegaverse full of heart, heat, and humor.
Emilia Emerson loves to embroider, take naps with her dog, read filthy smut, and do projects around the house. She works in mental health and loves that writing romance allows her to explore worlds with guaranteed happily ever afters, cozy characters who love each other, and found families who overcome challenges together.
I love a cozy omegaverse, especially when it's seasonal and is set in a small town. But - this was not it. I might add I adore the author's previous work, so I had high hopes.
Olive is our heroine. Painfully shy, has social anxiety, is generally a grumpy recluse. She has moved to the small town of Starlight Grove, and plans to stay alone by her lonesome.
Add in three guys: Easton the friendly stalker, Finn the stern but reluctant hero and Lars the viking. In general, I enjoyed all the characters, especially Lars.
Here's my biggest issue: Olive goes from painfully shy (as in runs away from the heroes) to doing schmexy stuff in the next chapter with basically no kind of transition or relationship development. It felt like it went from 0 to 100 and for me, it didn't work. It felt too abrupt, and I was convinced I had missed a few chapters. I went back a few times to see what I had missed that would make it make sense.
The book was cozy but does have some very heavy themes, so I wouldn't really classify it as purely cozy. It's this authors version of cozy for sure, but if a reader isn't familiar with their work from before it might be a bit too heavy.
The spice was excellent, although again, a bit oddly paced. It started heavy and SPICY but then kind of got more vanilla towards the end. Not a complaint, per se, but just a bit strange.
I loved Felix the meddling cat, he was the star of the show and I want more of him. I also loved the other omegas that were introduced and who will get their own books later. Even though I didn't love this book, I'm excited for Eliana Lees' upcoming book in the series.
I do want to thank Emilia for the ARC and I am a bit sad that it didn't hit home for me.
This was sooo cutteeee and I fear I am now obsessed with both cozy why choose and Emilia Emerson. The vibes were perfection. She is an omega who lives in a lighthouse and she's the new lighthouse keepers. The three guys are all alphas and basically fall head over heels for her immediately. I just loved how much they cared about her and tried to take things slow so they wouldn't scare her off. So freaking cute 🥹
I'm not really sure what sort of character the author thought she was writing tbh.
The first several chapters are setting up how painfully shy Olive is and her battle with depression but then suddenly she's hooking up in a public movie theatre with a complete stranger she's barely spoken to? And then she avoids letting the guys into her house but will have a threesome in the backyard?
I kept thinking that scene was a dream just given how little sense it made and the fact there was a complete lack of communication from anyone. I was shocked to realise that it wasn't a dream and instead the author just did a complete 180 on the FMC's personality.
🍂 Bookish Thoughts This was such a cozy and sweet why choose romance. Olive is an anxious girlie carrying grief, medical challenges, and some serious self-doubt. She doesn’t always react well, but it’s clear she’s doing her best.
I instantly loved Easton and Lars, but it took me a little longer to warm up to Finn. That said, all three of them adored Olive, and worshipped her.
The book starts strong with all the small-town charm and fall vibes. But I did feel like the ending dragged a bit and lost some of that cozy magic. Still, it’s a solid cozy read.
🧡 What You Can Expect: • Cozy Omega-verse • Why Choose (MFMM) • Found Family • Soft Hurt/Comfort • Small Town
I find it strange when authors in the same genre don't respect professional courtesy.
There's already been a Gilmore Girls esque series done in omegaverse.
Holiday Hollow by Jarica James and Chloe Gunther.
Not to mention a book called a pack for Christmas has been out in omegaverse for years.
The lack of unique thoughts is starting to show in omegaverse or too many greedy authors don't care on which toes they step on and would rather blend in than give their own unique take. 🤷🏽♀️ I'm old. I don't care about the social media hype.
The book itself was pedantic. Inorganic dialogue. Olive was intolerable. I'm being generous giving three stars.
2.5 stars Frequent spice. Not necessarily quality though.
Emilia has written some of my favorite omegaverse books but this….is not one of them. I wasn’t too invested while reading, as I found the FMC to be extremely dull and unappealing. But the real kicker was when the FMC found out that her boyfriend (I use this word loosely, as they were still quite undefined) had a fire at his family house. Knowing this, what did she do? She baked him cookies and brought them right over. I had to stop after that, it was one of the most ridiculous, out of character things I’ve read.
I really enjoyed this book. It was exactly as promised, low angst, comfy, cozy omegaverse with three amazing alphas and the most charming small town. Stanley felt exactly like Taylor from Gilmore girls and I wanted to absorb all the details!
Olive has some definite growing emotionally to do in this book and her three incredible alphas (Easton, Lars and Finn) are there for her every step of the way. I thought the romance was natural, it was cute and comedic in parts and very steamy in others. All in all, if you’re looking for a cute, cozy omegaverse this fall - this is just the ticket.
Thanks so much to Emilia for an ARC of this book and to all my omegaverse babes, go check it out!
This was another book where when I finally sat down to read it I started it and finished it in one sitting. How could you put this book down? Simple. You couldn’t.
Everything was engaging. The cozy little town draws you in and the characters make you want to stay. Even the “side” characters are incredibly dynamic. The love felt natural, and don’t let the cute cover or title fool you. This book is Spicy with a capital S.
Olive deserves every good thing in this life. She’s definitely a bit bristly but can you really blame her? All she really wants is love and who better to give that to her than Easton, Finn, and Lars? They truly felt absolutely perfect for each other.
I loved the emotional journey Olive went on. She went from craving love yet being terrified of it and fully accepting being alone to needing her men just as much as they needed her. It was really great watching her learn that it is okay to accept love and that she’s perfect just the way that she is. You don’t have to change for the right men.
The men? Perfection. Easton is probably my favorite new stalker adjacent man. He knew what he wanted and he definitely went after it. Props to him for making this all happen. Lars and Finn are also incredible but sorry they just don’t hold a candle to Easton who must be protected at all costs. Watching them fall in love with her as a pack and also as individuals was so touching. The way they just cared for her and gave her everything she didn’t even know she needed.
Do you have a praise kink? Good news the spice in this book is absolutely for you. I knew there was going to be spice but wow it got hot in the absolute best of ways. There was a lot of it but it all felt integral to the story so it never felt spice heavy which is always important to me. I love spice but I need to feel like it’s not in there just for the sake of having spice.
Okay but the real star of the show was Felix. His ending really was a chefs kiss couldn’t have freaking been better.
This was cutesy. A why choose, small town, MFMM, omegaverse between an omega lighthouse keeper and a bunch of alphas. Honestly I’m not too sure if omegaverse in a contemporary/modern world is for me quite yet, it works better for me in paranormal or shifter romances.
But anyways this was just a cute, small town, lots of caretaking. I have read this author under her mafia romance penname and love her writing overall. The cover is super cute and I loved the matchmaking cat in the story.
I enjoyed this grumpy socially anxious omega story. Olive’s hormone chronic illness was well done, especially the impact on function. Finn and Olive had a rough start, but the other guys were sweet to her. Easton was a golden retriever stalker and Lars was a bit grouchy but protective. Finn worked through his complex grief enough to embrace a relationship, though he obvs still experienced the grief.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: parent death (past), hospitalization of parent (past), PTSD, past child abuse, internalized fatphobia (although she does say she likes her body), depressive episodes
God, I can’t get over how cute Pack Autumn was. The small town charm, realistic characters, the magic in the air, so many quirky secondary characters, found family, amazing friendships and an adorable, naughty, matchmaking cat 🐈⬛!
I loved the protagonists- the sassy sometimes salty Olive, big, blonde viking Lars, Adorable, clumsy stalker Easton and Dominant and fierce Finn! They fit and i love ved their equation. Don’t be deceived by the cute cover this book is steamy ❤️🔥! I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend this book. Can’t wait to read the next one.
And head to IG to see beautiful artworks.
-Small town. -RH, Omegaverse. -Found family, hurt/comfort. -They fall first. -Low angst but TW, safe and recommended.
I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.
DNF @25%….I cannot go on. I tried to pick it up again and cringed when I saw I still had 4 hours and 40m left on my kindle. Where do I begin…
First, we start off with Olive, our FMC who is super shy, dealing with emotional trauma, and dresses adorably in punky sweaters / skirts. She can barely leave the house. Takes a job in a remote town as a light house keeper, is “prickly” and wants nothing to do with people or love. Sounds great, right? The problem is, just HOURS after meeting Finn she’s ready to mess around with him in a dark theater. And just DAYS after meeting Lars and Easton, ready bang them on a picnic blanket outside her house (because she’s too shy to let them go inside her house) right OUT IN THE OPEN.
Character inconsistency?? Is this the same character we start the book with???
Don’t tell me a character is one thing, and then do a complete 180 with the character 20% into the book.
This reads bland. Flat soda. I don’t feel the emotion or depth at all.
And WHERE IS THE YEARNING?! The story starts with 1 MMC already obsessively crushing on Olive while the other is still obsessed with an omega he scented 6 years ago, but never got a look at, WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE OLIVE. So, there’s literally NO meet cute. No build up to getting to know one another.
We only get a LITTLE of that with Finn when he runs into her in the theater.
Anyway… there was ONE cute scene. ONE. The pickle sandwich scene. It made me laugh. But…it’s not enough to hold up this story. I am going to save myself from what I know will be lots of eye-rolling, skimming, and boredom but simply setting this one down.
And I’ll just say, I’m honestly shocked this has so many ratings/positive reviews. Did we read the same book?! Or am I just being a nit-picky b!tch?!
This is the coziest book I've read in a while! It is an omegaverse following our anxious FMC, Olive, and her three obsessed, silly guys, Easton, Finn, and Lars. It was pretty insta-love and had low, if any, angst yet, it managed to keep my interest the entire time. The FMC, Olive, has a lot of anxiety and metal health issues but it was shown in a way that didn't romanticize it or make it over the top, and I really liked how supportive her guys were. I also liked how the author showed that sometimes it doesn't have to be this big scary thing but just something that happens that you can work through.
All of the characters were very likeable. Olive was very sweet but was still down for a three way peen-a-thon 24/7. She had some insecurities but her guys were there every step of with way to help however they can. The guys were all very charismatic in their own way. I thought it was fun how Easton seemed like a big dork in a beefy body suit (sorry for that imagery). Easston was the quirkiest of the three but they all had the Golden Retriever gene in them. They also had some issues to work but I liked how it was all handled with maturity and *communication*!
Now we HAVE to take a moment to honour Felix the cat. He added a whimsical atmosphere which worked well with this seasonal series. It kept the story in this light, cozy world even when there were more serious topics being discussed. It seems that he will be an integral character throughout the series so I'm excited to see what he gets up to.
I really enjoyed this omegaverse. It was perfectly cozy, had a good amount of spice, and a really well developed town with fun characters I can't wait to read more about.
I'm going to lose my damn mind over this series -- just you wait. I am so excited for this Eliana x Emilia collaboration series! Sign me tf up!
5/5 ✨ 3/5 🌶️
This book was everything I hoped it would be. I was absolutely captivated with the characters, the setting, the plot, the romance — yeah, probably every facet of this book. I am so thrilled to have had the honor of reading this early as a member of Emilia Emerson’s ARC Team. Thank you, Emilia!
I cannot believe how talented Emilia is to have written so many MMCs who are just the best examples of green flags. I loved getting to know them gradually with Olive and I love how their love for her enabled her to bloom and take back her happiness. I love how the pack supported each other through their good and bad days. I felt like their love for one another and their unconditional love and genuine desire to learn about each other even during the dark days is such a gorgeous example of how easy loving people can be. It reminded me so much of the love I experience with my husband. It just made me feel really grateful to have such a wonderful man in my life. Especially as these next four years of unknown are coming closer and closer.
This book could not have been more perfect for me. It ticked every one of the tropes that I love and their execution was just spot on. I loved how the pack’s relationship developed and I love how genuine they were from day one. I desperately want to move to Starlight Grove. Where’s my ticket?
I really don’t have a clue how this is getting such good reviews 😭 this author’s previous books were so good but this one just felt like it was written by a horny teenager - DNF at 40%
This is cute in a lot of ways and cozy, mostly. However, there is pain play, punishments, and calling her a slut that I don't like. She enjoys it but it's not my preference.
I didn’t choose the omegaverse life and it didn’t choose me either 😳
You know, sometimes we take a chance on a genre and it doesn’t always work out. And that’s okay. There are aspects of this book I like. I enjoy Olive and her friend group. I also enjoyed the relationship between Easton, Finn, and Lars. I liked the cute town (Stanley is VERY Taylor coded from Gilmore Girls). Where we lose me, however, is the alpha/omega dynamic. I have a LOT of criticisms about it (which is not exclusive to this book but rather omegaverse as a whole 😩) but you know what? To each their own at the end of the day.
I’m still debating on whether I’ll actually pick up A Pack for Winter but if I do, I’ll have to face the consequences of my own actions.
This was cozy and I think the cover art is adorable, but the content itself was a bit tired. Olive is painfully (it was painful to read, too) shy and lacking in self-confidence and after she meets her pack, it's a big issue, but it just keeps going and going and going. After a while, I grew rather annoyed with her. "Oh, they left my nest to go to the bathroom and didn't say goodbye, that must mean they hate me" type of behaviour. It was so cringey.
And the men of the pack weren't much better. They refused to accept Olive's boundaries and steamrolled her constantly with the assumption that they knew all about her, though they'd only known her for a short amount of time. And then, if she needed a moment of peace, they thought they'd done something wrong and that she was upset with them or that she was entering into a depressive state. They were so up in each other's business, I'd have been surprised if anyone went to the toilet without someone else being there. It all felt very codependent and suffocating, even for an omegaverse story.
The autumnal setting was nice, though, and the town itself was very cute, but the best part of the whole story was Felix, the cat. He was a silly character and SO adorable. 🐱
This was completely unexpected. I haven't seen anyone reading this, I randomly stumbled on it. I was sick of looking at my TBR so went onto KU and searched all of KU by date added. This was on the first page, it looked cozy and I could tell it was an omegaverse, so that was enough for me. I didn't even read the blurb, just added it to my library and dove in.
IT WAS SO GOOD. Spicier than I expected, but it didn't seem excessive. I never skimmed any scenes, they were all relatively concise and didn't drag on page after page after page. The humor was cute and actually funny, and didn't feel cringy or heavy handed.
I struggle with "cozy" books because sometimes they just feel too slice-of-life, too slow, no stakes. This one hit the perfect balance for me. The representation for hormonal disorders, dyslexia, and anxiety was chef's-kiss.
This was really cute and nice and I knew it had a lot of smut but it was just a little too much for my liking, but the loads of sweet moments made up for it
