If you’re looking for some light reading this holiday season, this author has an anthology-style book that comprises three separate novellas.

Each one of them is a standalone, and they are a quick read, perfect for between larger books.. Plus, they are entertaining and definitely a hot take.

With Christmas as the overarching theme, all three deliver in terms of entertainment, featuring memorable characters and great plots. You cannot help but smile at the strong women pursuing what they truly desire.

His Wicked Little Christmas is fun, lighthearted, and a great one to add to your list this Christmas. I love that they are steamy and unapologetically romantic!

4 Stars! This is a collection of 3 novella’s in ‘The Duchess Society’ series. I’ve read most of the books in this series and really enjoyed reading these novellas. They all got 4 stars each from me!
The first book is ‘The Ice Duchess’ which is a prequel to the first full book in the series. The main characters in this are Dexter Munro/Duke of Markham and Georgina Whitcomb/Countess Winterbourne.
The second book is ‘The Governess Gamble’, or 3.5 in the series. The main characters in this book are Francine Shaw and Viscount Chance Allerton.
The last novella in this book is ‘The Daring Debutante’, book 6.5 in the series. This follows Nigel Streeter, who was taken in and adopted by Tobias Streeter and Lady Hildegard from book 1 in the series, ‘The Brazen Bluestocking’, and Arabella Macaulay, who is Pippa Darlington and Xander Macaulay‘s now grown daughter. Pippa & Xander are from book 3, ‘The Wicked Wallflower’.
All in all, I really liked all of these novellas. The main characters are all likable and I enjoyed reading about their HEA endings. I might go back and read the entire series in order, including the two books in the series that I haven’t read yet.

A wonderful collection of short stories, each with a heartwarming HEA and all deliciously spicy! Cozy up with your favorite beverage to thoroughly enjoy your evening!

The Ice Duchess - a heartwarming second chance story of Dex and Georgie. Dex is a wonderful MMC, who spends so much time and care trying to help Georgie heal from her disastrous marriage and convince her to give him a chance. Georgie, in turn, is a very sweet (but also strong and determined) FMC. It’s impossible to not root for these two.

The Governess Gamble - Franny is a lovely FMC, who is making her way in the world, rather than bend to those who will it. Chance is a rake on the redemption path. They make a wonderful couple and novella is packed with steam, banter and even some angst.

The Daring Debutante - How wonderful to see some familiar characters from previous stories. Arabella and Nigel are a great couple with wonderful chemistry and unflinching loyalty to each other.

Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for this advance copy!

These three stories pair up handsome, reluctant heroes with beautiful, independent and spirited women.

These women know what they want and are not afraid to go for it. The men are brought to their knees with desire but also with a deep love. I love how surprised they are to discover how in love they are and how gruffly protective they get. I especially enjoyed Nigel and Arabella’s story. She is so confident in her love for him while he is so reluctantly smitten but once he gives in, is equally determined they will be together.

The trope of an orphan from the streets who achieves a good position in life and is raised up by the love of a good person is one of my favourites. I also like it when they retain a bit of that rough edge. So fun!

I love reading Tracy Sumner ever since I discovered her a couple years ago. She rates as one of my favourite authors and is an auto buy for me.

These stories are wonderful. They have all the things I love - handsome heroes, feisty heroines and lots of steam. Plus they are quick reads to spice up a dull day. Highly recommended!

This is a collection of three Christmas novellas! I thoroughly enjoyed all three of them. They all stand on their own and give the delightful, heartwarming and spicy combination I’ve come to expect from Sumner. Here is my review for each of them…

✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 ✨

I absolutely loved getting a book for the second generation of the Leighton cluster! Xander Maculey and Tobias Streeter are two of my favourites so getting a romance between their daughter and son was just too perfect!

I loved that Arabella followed in the footsteps of her mother and adored her boldness and determination to have Nigel. And Nigel was just so lovely. It made my heart all mushy that he was Tobias’s adopted son and also saw Xander as a father type figure - the love he received from this giant family and the life that he’s had with them all just makes me emotional. I loved it so much!

This was a very romantic quick novella with two characters you can’t help but love from the get go. Nigel didn’t feel he was good enough for arabella but once she tempted him into kissing her, he was a lost cause. It was delectable and a lovely read if your loving for a quick dose of serotonin! Also the spice was excellent as always and I just felt the love they had for the each was leaping off the page. A wonderful read

✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 ✨

This story is a delightful addition to Sumner’s Duchess Society series. I really loved both Chance and Franny, they were lovable and kind and very well matched. They had such strong passion for each other and there was a good amount of angst/ tension but as this is a novella it was succinct and timely with minimal miscommunication which I enjoyed. Franny is sweet and as a wealthy American heiress she just wants to live life the way she wants, have some freedom if she can’t have love. And whilst she finds herself infatuated with Lord Remington she harbours no illusions that he’ll reciprocate. But as it turns out Chance was more than his rake reputation, in charge of the impoverished viscountcy with a new ward he has no idea how to look after he needs help. Accepting Franny into his life as his new governess was the best decision he ever made. Their romance was compelling and - considering this was only just I’ve 100pgs - well fleshed out. Sumner has delivered a beautiful concise historical romance about characters discovering each other for who they truly were.

Also the story is set during the Christmas period but is not a Christmas book - the season is mentioned but is very much background. It’s a great novella expanding on a series I love and adding more context to side characters.

✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 ✨

The Ice Duchess is a second chance romance following Dex’s return to England due to his near immediate obligatory take over of the duchy. He returns to find his once love, Georgina, widowed with a strict belief she’s better off now that she’s free of marriage and men. As Dex realises, he wants no one but Georgie to be his duchess and Georgie refusing to give up her freedom again, difficult choices lay ahead.

The writing was excellent and Sumner managed to help me empathise with both Georgie and Dex as well as give me a good understanding of the lives they’re lived both apart and together in the past. This is often very hard to do well in a novella as we don’t get as much time with the characters as a full book, but the author did it wonderfully and managed to get me to fall in love with both characters straight away.

Dex was so endearing, and I adored his heartfelt perseverance and determination to do anything it took to not waste this second chance at love with Georgie. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the story unfold as he tried to show her there could be so much more to life and love than she’d experienced before. And Georgie was just as lovable, she’d clearly had a difficult past and though it had deeply affected her she was still bold and strong and kind. She was resilient enough that she refuses to fit to societies rules and instead turned herself to educating young women about the truth of these forced/ arranged marriages and how best to protect themselves. I really loved this concept and was so happy that though Georgie had suffered she used it to help other women, women that certainly needed her help. And that her actions scared and concerned the men in society was all the better, for change needed to happen.

This book packed in a lot of goodness considering the constraints of a novella and not only did I find my heart melting for Dex and Georgie and their relationship (and enjoyed the good dose of well written steam) but I adored the concept of the Duchess Society and cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

I received eARC copies of these books. All thoughts are my own

The Ice Duchess 4*
Returning home and having a second chance at love is always interesting to read about. Dex and Georgie grew up playing together as children. I enjoyed watching them interact and reminisce as adults about the past and the things that took place when they were apart. I felt there were too few details about what happened to separate the two as well as what happened in that time they were apart (particularly in Georgie’s case) to really understand the reason behind several decisions/actions. The setting and dialogue were wonderful, full of rich descriptions and quirky yet entertaining dialogue. In the end, it was satisfying to see how things were resolved.

The Governess Gamble 5*
Shared Vision
The restrictions of society and all that is “proper provide a great backdrop to the story. Franny was like a breath of fresh air. She had her own thoughts and desires for her life yet was limited in her role as a single woman. Of course she would enter the world of chance who also had a vision and passion for a vocation, yet was constrained by financial expectations and title. It was wonderful to see the sparks fly between this couple eventually!

The Daring Debutante 5*
Sweet Next Generation Story
Watching children of the original series couples grown up and dealing with adult life brings the overarching story full circle. I loved watching Nigel and Bella ”figure things out” and jump into moving forward. Oh, the power of true love!

This is a delightful collection of three different stories set around the christmas period. Each one is a standalone, however some of the characters are connected. The books include The Ice Duchess, The Governess Gamble, The Daring Debutante. Each is a short story and as enjoyable as the next. The characters are likeable and the ladies fiesty, independant and defying societies expected standards of them.

I have never read anything by this author before she does historical romance really well, I will be looking out for more of her works. This was areally enjoyable read and a must for anyone who enjoys the genre of even just a christmas setting in their stories.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Ice Duchess ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this book. it is during the Christmas holiday season, but not all about the holiday. The focus is on Dexter Reed Munro returing after years of geological travels wanting to marry his childhood fried, Georgiana Whitcomb who is now a widow. Great characters and plot. The book flows at a nice pace. Thisbis my second time reading thisnstory and it is just as great as the first time. I love the series!

The Governess Gamble ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Entertaining
Great characters
Passion and heat
Love
Everything needed to make a fabulous story

The Daring Debutante ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved Nigel and Arabella's story. It is hard for characters to age, but I do like reading the books of the future generations. I miss the Leighton cluster.

Three Christmas novellas with the first introducing readers to the beginnings of the Duchess Society. The Duchess Society began with two young women, one a widow Georgiana Whitcomb, Countess Winterbourne, after a disastrous marriage forced on her by her destitute father and her friend Hildegard Templeton both having their own reasons for wanting to tutor young naïve girls on how to navigate an aristocratic arrangement in order to allow them some control over their upcoming nuptials.
The first two stories “The Ice Duchess” and “Governess Gambit” are directly involved with the Duchess Society, while the third shares the tale of the next generation with characters from the first two stories crossing over and all three take place around the Christmastide holidays. They should be enjoyed in order though there are other stories not included that tie into the Duchess Society series. Enjoyable romantic, spicy tales that pointed out at times that marriages for women of the early and middle 1900’s weren’t given much choice in their selection or social station of the men they were to marry. But all three woman, two titled English ladies and an American Heiress were strong characters who stood up against society to marry the men they wanted to spend their lives with. I thoroughly enjoyed these romantic historical tales, the characters drew me into their world, there is a bit of spice in each tale and I loved the fact that these women were looking for love not some knight in shining armor or highly placed lord. As always, I enjoyed Tracy Sumners’ imagination and easily fell into her engaging way of telling a story. That some characters were carried over into other books was a bonus for me.
I was given an advanced readers copy for my opinion of these tales.

“The Ice Duchess” December 1821 – Georgiana Whitcomb was not given a choice of suitors, after the death of her beloved brother her wastrel of a father “sold” her off to the highest bidder, a man old enough to be her grandfather, to cover his debts. The Earl of Winterbourne wanted an heir and expected a docile, obedient wife. He got neither in Georgiana Whitcomb and so he was cruel and abusive. Several years later his death finally freed her and while leaving her a comfortable living, it also left her with a distaste and distrust of men, vowing never to wed again. It is also the reason she and her friend Hildegard Templeton began organizing the Duchess Society in order to educate young woman who how to protect their own interests before agreeing to marry a man. So, it was when her childhood friend Dexter Reed Munro returned to England, because of his father’s eminent demise, he found the one woman he had always loved would not easily be persuaded to step into the marriage mart and consider him a worthy suitor.
”The Governess Gamit” December 1823 – Francine Shaw had caused quite a scandal back in New York and for this reason her well-to-do father chose to ship her off to England with the edict that she was to marry a titled Lord or be cut off from his wealth completely. When he had to return to America on business he enlisted the help of the Duchess Society to look into the background of the debt-ridden Baron he had chosen for his daughter. Francine accidentally overheard a conversation between Mrs. Hildegard Streeter and her cousin Lord Remington, Chance, asking for assistance in finding a governess for a young female relative who had recently become his ward. Francine had seen Lord Remington several times at gatherings and was interested in learning more about him. She knew his father had almost bankrupted the estates under his control prior to his death and now Chance, Lord Remington, had turned to his first love carpentry, to try to rebuild the family coffers. It wasn’t going to be a fast return and he knew, as did Francine, that soon he would be forced to wed an heiress to repair their home, support the villagers for whom he was responsible, sustain the estate until his dealings in trade, which he must keep hidden, could finally begin to pay off. One problem with this choice of action was that Chance wanted a marriage built on love, totally different from his parents, but time was running out. That is until Francine Shaw stepped into his life and began to change things. She treated the servants, few that there were, with respect and kindness, assisted in cleaning up the house and even making some much-needed purchases. Could she also show him that love could grow in their rocky start?
“The Daring Debutant” London 1846 – Arabella Macauley was outspoken, a bit adventurous, not easily controlled and parent’s darling. What could you expect even though her mother was the sister of a duke, her father had grown up on the streets of the rookery, the illegitimate son of an earl. Nigel Streeter had been adopted by Tobias Streeter, at age of 11 taken out of the rookery and has come a long way. Well educated, even graduating with honors he now manages a gambling den, quite profitably. Bell has loved Nigel for many years but knew that she would have to be the one to chase and catch him since he was her father’s partner in business but saw himself below her social status. She would give him a merry chase drawing him into several of her little scrapes while proving that the age difference and his early years in the rookery made no difference to her or her family if he was what she wanted.

A charming collection of previously published novellas from the "Duchess Society" that I was already familiar with, but I enjoyed reading the books again. I love the emotions, humor, and spice in Tracy's books, and this selection offers a successful mix of tropes and characters who find their happy endings in different ways.
Highly recommended for anyone who likes short stories with swoonworthy heroes and strong heroines!

I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

THE ICE DUCHESS

- Friends to lovers
- Second Chance
- Reluctant widow vs. scholarly hero

A sweet and spicy story and a good prequel to the Duchess Society series. I enjoy good friends to lovers and second chance tropes and the natural lightness between the likable characters won me over.

Widowed Lady Georgiana Whitcomb, Countess Winterbourne, also known as the „Ice Duchess“, has no intention of ever marrying again. She has suffered far too much in her unhappy marriage and enjoys her freedom being a widow. Together with her friend Hildegard, she runs the Duchess Society, which educates its protégés about women's rights and supports them in asserting them.
At a party, she meets Dexter „Dex“ Reed Munro, Marquess of Westfield again, her childhood friend and crush who spent the last few years researching abroad as a geologist.
Years ago, Dex left home after an argument with his father, the Duke of Markham, and allowed that Georgie, the only woman he had ever loved, to be forced into an arranged marriage to someone else in order to save her family from financial ruin.
Now his father is dying and asks Dex for one last wish: that Dex has a fiancée by Epiphany.
When Dex sees Georgiana again, he realizes that he will never want any woman other than her. He offers Georgie a wager to spend more time with her: if he wins, she will help him find a suitable woman, if she wins, he has to organize an adventure for her.
But no matter how hard Dex tries to convince Georgie that she’s the only woman for him, she is too reluctant to remarry but willing to have a liaison with him instead...

THE GOVERNESS GAMBLE

- Strangers to lovers
- Boss-employee
- Hidden Identity
- Found family
- Destitute Rake vs. Heiress

A sweet and sensual Christmas romance with very likable characters that not only tells the story of the two lovers, but also brings three lonely people together who have to overcome their insecurities before they find happiness together and become a family.
I particularly liked Franny's direct, open and cordial manner and Chance‘s sweet ward.

Francine „Franny“ Shaw is an American heiress who had to leave Philadelphia after a scandal and was brought to England by her father to find an destitute noble husband although she’d much prefer to become a spinster. When she visits Hildegard Streeter to discuss her marriage contract with a baron, her appointment is interrupted by William „Chance“ Allerton, Viscount Remington, an old friend of Hildegard.
Franny has been fascinated by the Viscount ever since she first saw him at an event and is keen to draw him.
Chance is known as a notorious rake who inherited the run-down family holdings from his late father. He earns his money secretly as a furniture maker, but it's not enough to fill his empty coffers. Nevertheless, he is unwilling to marry for any reason other than love. Unexpectedly, he also becomes the guardian of a vivacious little girl and urgently needs a governess, so he asks his childhood friend Hildegard for help in finding one for him.
Franny sees her chance for one last adventure before her wedding and the opportunity to see Chance up close in order to be able to draw him better. She convinces Hildegard to let her be Chance's temporary governess...

THE DARING DEBUTANTE

- Childhood frenemies
- Secret crush

An enjoyable quick read about Nigel Streeter, the adopted son of Tobias and Hildegard Streeter and the Arabella Macauley, the daughter of Xander and Pippa Macauley who have known each other since childhood. While she has had a crush on him for years, he finally realises that she is more to him than the headstrong girl who used to annoy him…
The plot is nice and well written with lots of playful banter, a few sensual love scenes and very likable characters. Their chemistry was right from the start and their interactions felt natural.

“His Wicked Little Christmas" by Tracy Sumner is a captivating collection of three short stories that are heartfelt, charming, and utterly delightful. Each tale brims with witty banter, daring wagers, irresistible dukes, and festive romance, whisking readers away on a magical holiday escape.

The Ice Duchess - Tracy Sumner -5 stars

As a prelude to the Duchess Society series, this story sets the stage beautifully. Georgiana Whitcomb, the fiercely independent “Ice Duchess,” is determined never to marry again. However, her childhood obsession, Dexter Munro—the future Duke of Markham—has other plans.

A Christmas wager rekindles their dormant feelings, forcing them to confront desires and fears long buried. Dex’s relentless pursuit of Georgiana’s heart, paired with her struggle to lower her defenses, makes for an emotionally charged journey. Sumner masterfully captures every layer—from heartbreak to hope—leaving a deep, lasting impression. This story resonates with me in a unique way, and I find myself returning to it time and time again. It’s undeniably a personal favorite!

The dynamic between Georgiana and Dex is electric, each interaction brimming with humor and warmth. Their journey from childhood friends to lovers is compelling, a testament to love’s power to thaw even the iciest hearts. This enchanting romance is unforgettable, a cherished gem in Sumner’s repertoire.

The Governess Gamble - Tracy Sumner - 5 Stars

In The Governess Gamble, an unexpected couple shines in this delightful Christmas romance between a roguish Viscount and an accidental governess. Francine "Franny" Shaw, an independent American heiress, finds herself shipped off to England after a scandal back home. Refusing an arranged marriage orchestrated by her father, Franny boldly accepts a governess position, determined to forge her own path.

She soon works for Chance Allerton, a rakish Viscount grappling with new responsibilities after inheriting a title and a ward. The attraction between Franny and Chance is immediate and undeniable, leading to a steamy connection filled with complications and heartfelt moments.

Franny’s wit and vulnerability make her a compelling heroine, while Chance’s tender heart reveals a man yearning for genuine love. Together, their sizzling chemistry and playful banter create a heartwarming holiday romance rich with emotion and festive charm. If you enjoy steamy romances with well-developed characters and holiday magic, this novella is a must-read.

The Daring Debutante - Tracy Sumner - 5 Stars

Arabella Macauley, daughter of Pippa Darlington and Xander Macauley from the Duchess Society series, shines in this heartfelt romance. Her connection with Nigel Streeter—a man haunted by his past and convinced he's unworthy of love—is beautifully crafted, blending deep emotional ties with sizzling chemistry.

The author skillfully portrays Arabella’s internal struggles and unwavering affection for Nigel, echoing her mother Pippa's pursuit of Xander—a touching nod to love’s enduring power. Their long-standing friendship blossoms into tender romance, layered with sweet and spicy banter.

Family support adds warmth, highlighting the role of love and understanding in healing old wounds. This delightful story of romance, resilience, and personal growth left me smiling—a true gem that felt like a cozy trip down memory lane.

Tracy Sumner has done it again with this outstanding Christmas collection. Her characters are relatable, emotions run high, and even after multiple reads, these stories resonate deeply with me. Each novella is woven with warmth, wit, and undeniable chemistry, making them perfect for the holiday season—or any time you need a heartwarming escape.

For anyone seeking stories filled with festive magic and irresistible romance, His Wicked Little Christmas is an absolute must-read. Cozy up with a cup of cocoa, and let Tracy Sumner’s enchanting tales sweep you off your feet.

Such a delightful collection of three Duchess Society Novellas. You will find second chances, forbidden desires, unlikely love matches, and steamy encounters. These stories are quick, entertaining and delicious. The Duchess Society series is a remarkable collection of original and creative tales that will take you on exhilerating journeys that leave you breathless and smiling!

The Ice Duchess (Prequel to Duchess Society Series)
Georgiana and Dexter
Loved it! Georgiana, her now deceased brother Anthony, and Dexter were childhood friends until Dexter left home to pursue a geological career, and her father married her off to the highest bidder. Years later, Georgiana, a widow of three years, and Dexter run into each other at a Christmas party. Both have missed the other, both have feelings for the other, but after an abusive marriage, Georgiana will never give up her freedom and marry again. Besides, she and her friend have formed the Duchess Society, an enterprise that gives young ladies practical information regarding marriage. Unfortunately Dexter promised his dying father that he would find his duchess by Twelfth Night, and the only wife he wants won’t marry him. The emotional turmoil felt by these two vibrates off the page. The steamy scenes are tastefully done and Dexter’s vulnerability is quite endearing as he tries desperately to change Georgiana’s view on marriage.

The Governess Gamble (The Duchess Society #3.5 & #7)
Francine (Franny) and William Allerton (Chance) Viscount Remington
So good! A sigh-worthy “tup-‘em-and-leave-‘em” Viscount and an American heiress sent to England in disgrace, discover that they were made for each other. Of course, there is drama and trauma along the way, as well as witty banter, looks of longing, and steamy encounters. Fanny’s father’s choice of a sniveling fortune hunter for her husband, and Chance’s newly arrived adorable six year old ward, add an undercurrent of tension and urgency that unwittingly drives the story.

The Daring Debutante (The Duchess Society #8)
Arabella and Nigel
This is just so good on so many levels. Nigel, found on the streets, adopted by Tobias Streeter, and now a successful businessman, had a reputation with the ladies. However, no matter how many women he bedded, the loneliness lingered. He had known Arabella for most of her life since she was the daughter of his father’s closest friend and business partner. Although he was attracted to her, he believed that she deserved somebody younger than him who also had a better pedigree. Arabella, on the other hand, wanted Nigel and was determined to have him. This is a passionate, hot and exciting story. I love the scene where Nigel and Xander are sitting on the steps discussing Bella after she storms out. This story just makes me happy. The Hero rises from nothing, and the heroine fights for what she wants and they both win. And….the ending is unexpected and perfect!.

The first story is one of my all time favorites: The Ice Duchess
Dex and Georgianna aka Georgie along with her brother Anthony were inseparable roaming Derbyshire until they weren't. Dex wanted to be a geologist unheard of for a Duke's heir. Dex left to start a profession and see the world! He left his heart little did he know with Georgie! Georgie was sold to a cruel and unfeeling man and determined to never marry again. Dex summoned home by his father's declining health runs into Georgie who is dubbed the Ice Duchess!
The way Dec woos her scorched the words off the pages! Will love change Georgie heart and not let her cruel deceased husband win? Because that's what happens when someone from your past controls your future!!
The second story is also one I have read more than twice: The Governess Gamble:
So much fun!
Chance Aka Viscount Remington is not gently impoverished just broke! All due to his illustrious deceased spendrift father! What a wastrel.
Francine Aka Franny Shaw is American with a very wealthy father!
Franny father wanted to buy her a husband and has settled on a Baron to cover her indiscretion!
These two are like molten lava. Franny has admired Chance from afar!
When the opportunity comes from the Duchess society for her to be a governess to a new ward of the Viscount Franny jumps at the chance for the last bit of freedom prior to her marrying to avoid poverty and give her some freedom to pursue her art!
Chance won’t marry without love and Franny is not sure what that means!
Well these two are about to find out!
The Daring Debutante was like a family reunion where they are still in love:
We have a little like history repeating itself! Nigel Streeter adopted son of Tobias Streeter! Wealthy scarred and handsome forever grateful for the life he has even though it doesn’t always fit! Arabella Macauley has set her sites in him! Nigel doesn’t stand a chance! One kiss and he’s doomed but with the Leighton family it is never simple and of course Nigel messed up! Now he has to do a grand gesture to grovel to her back into Arabella’s good graces! I love that the older members of the family are involved and that they are still very much in love! Nigel will figure out what to do and these two will have a HEA! Even if Nigel thinks he’s too old! Love finds a way!.

What a great collection of short stories in the Duchess Society series:

The Ice Duchess - Georgiana Whitcomb was forced to marry an Earl old enough to be her father, and cruel to boot. She spent her childhood chasing after her brother Anthony and Dexter Munro, and then Dex left to pursue his passion as a geologist and her brother died. Now Dex has returned to tempt her, no matter how much she’s sworn off being tied to any man since becoming a widow. Dex is about to become a Duke, his father is on his deathbed, and he’s determined to make Georgie his, despite her determination not to marry again. The desire and passion are palpable, and there’s nothing to stop his seduction of the one woman he’s always wanted. He’s sure he can convince her if given the chance, his happiness and future depend on it. This was a lovely second chance at love - the couple is already in love, they just have to get past Georgie’s horrible marriage with much better experiences for her first, which was delightfully fun to watch.

The Governess Gamble - Francine Shaw has arrived in London looking for an impoverished noble to marry, since her chances in America have been ruined. Viscount Chance Allerton is definitely impoverished, but is determined to marry for love. When Chance inherits a six-year-old girl, Franny volunteers to play governess for a few weeks, along with her companion, Ada, as a favor to her friend Hildy. Of course the two are wildly attracted to each other and it seems inevitable that they will solve each other's problems and succumb to a happily ever after. What a wonderfully passionate and well-matched couple, they were made for each other.

The Daring Debutante - Arabella Macauley, daughter of Tobias Macauley, who is Nigel Streeter’s partner and mentor and his father’s oldest friend - has decided that she will marry Nigel. His objections are that he’s 11 years older, an adopted orphan from the streets and not good enough for her, even though he can’t stop thinking about her. Bella leads him on a merry dance while trying to convince him that she’s the one for him, and he resists as long as he can. It seems both families may approve, so he doesn’t even have that to dissuade her. I loved Bella, who would not take no for an answer, she knew he was worth all the effort. What a great little story!

Quick reads perfect for the upcoming holiday season
When Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays roll around, my schedule becomes super busy. I rarely have time for a full-length tale, but I still seek out fun, uplifting titles to escape into. Enter Tracy Sumner’s “His Wicked Little Christmas,” a set of three novellas from her Duchess Society series.
I had read the three titles when they first came out, but it was a delight to re-read them before writing this review.
“The Ice Duchess” is the prequel to the series and introduces us to Georgie, a founding member of The Duchess Society. Georgie is a young widow, which opens the world for her because widowhood removes many of the social constraints the debutantes face. Georgie and Dex, soon to inherit a dukedom, have a past. I loved watching Dex work hard to change Georgie’s mind about wedding again.
In “The Governess Gamble,” Franny is a debutante from America looking for a husband — at her father’s insistence. The Duchess Society have been engaged to oversee the marital documents for the upcoming union. Before that is finished, Franny finds herself in a situation to have a grand adventure — pretend to be a governess for a viscount who has engaged the Duchess Society to find him a suitable woman to fill the role. Franny is a delight, using her own past to inform her interactions with her young charge. Our viscount’s Grand Gesture was especially beautiful.
Finally, “The Daring Debutante” focuses on the second generation of the Leighton Cluster, the three couples who make us the Duchess Society and their dukes. Arabella Macauley has grown up hearing of her own parent’s grand romance in which her mother had to convince her father they were meant to be together. Arabella knows who she wants even though he resists the attraction. My favorite part of this title is revisiting earlier characters. Again the Grand Gesture is a delight — as well as an interesting chat and some advice while sitting on the grand staircase.
If you enjoy historical romance and are looking for some light reading that will give you a break from preparing for the upcoming holidays without completely derailing your plans, grab “His Wicked Llittle Christmas” and dive into these short stories. You won’t be disappointed.

The Ice Duchess

This is a quick standalone romance about Georgie and Dex. They were childhood friends who lost touch with each other as Dex was involved with his geological adventures, Georgie’s brother died, and Georgie was married off to an old cruel man. When they meet up years later, Georgie is scarred from her marriage and therefore afraid of relationships. Dex, on the other hand has finally figured out that he loved her and never should have left without her. As his father lay dying, he promised the old Duke that he would give him the name of his betrothed. He has his work cut out for him as the only woman he could possibly be happy with is Georgie. This is all about the two of them moving forward and getting over the past.

The Governess Gamble

Francine Shaw was an American sent to London to find a single noble in need of her money so that he would marry her. Francine wasn’t interested in marriage but her father was unhappy with her due to a transgression in the US and so he decided that he would disinherit her if she didn’t comply. She did not expect to marry for love so she agreed to go with her father’s plan and was in the process of having papers drawn up between herself and an impoverished baron. Francine received a reprieve when Lord Remington asked a friend for a favour and Francine volunteered to be a governess to his young ward. This was a fun story of two people wanting something that they did not feel they should and it is made better with the inclusion of characters from previous stories.

The Daring Debutante

Nigel Streeter has known Arabella Macauley since they were young as their parents are best of friends, and now that they are grown, neither of them think of the other as a sibling. Arabella knows what she wants, and it’s Nigel, who is older, more experienced, and feels unworthy. Arabella is a strong, driven character who does not adhere to society’s expectations which means that Nigel doesn’t stand a chance of resisting. This is a short story of these two and a nice way to bring the next generation into the storyline.

Tracy Sumner delivers a delightful holiday treat with His Wicked Little Christmas, a charming collection of three interconnected novellas that are a perfect escape for historical romance readers. For those who appreciate a quality novella—a format that balances brevity with satisfying depth—this book is an absolute win.

What I Loved:

Compelling Characters: Sumner has a masterful way of writing characters that are easy to root for. Regardless of their flaws or initial conflicts, both the fiery FMCs (Female Main Characters) and the dashing MMCs (Male Main Characters) are endearing. Each of the three novellas features a strong-willed FMC who knows her own mind and what she wants, creating wonderfully intriguing and dynamic tension with her male counterpart.

Perfectly Structured Romance: This collection covers all the essential tropes and beats you look for in a captivating romance. The stories are well-structured, offering enough intrigue and well-paced plot points to keep you turning the pages without ever feeling overly complicated or bogged down.

A Special Generational Connection: What I especially appreciated was the sense of continuity and generational progression this collection offers. The final novella provides a sweet romance featuring the children of characters from Sumner's beloved original Duchess Society. It's a heart-warming development that beautifully links the generations, giving readers a satisfying glimpse into the future of the interconnected families.

Spice Level: The romance features some well-integrated open-door moments throughout each novella, but nothing gratuitous or "too wild." I'd place the spice level at a solid 1-2 chilies — enough heat to be satisfying, but still focusing heavily on the emotional connection and plot.

Final Verdict

This was a solid 4 star read that perfectly encapsulates the magic of a good historical romance. If you're looking for compelling characters, satisfying storylines, and a touch of festive fun, "His Wicked Little Christmas" is the perfect addition to your seasonal TBR pile!

This review is based on an advance review copy provided to me for free by BookSirens and Tracy Sumner. My opinions are my own and freely offered.

Three wickedly good, sexy reads with
heart-melting heroes and strong, feisty heroines. Merry early Christmas to me 😁

The Ice Duchess
“I want your friendship. Forever, I want it. But I want this, too. I want you. I always have. I desire you as I desire no one.”

Georgiana has loved Dexter, a friend of her brother’s since childhood. But Dexter left without looking back, her brother has passed, and Georgiana is a widow who now runs the Duchess Society; which helps young women enter into a society marriage. Seven years later they meet again when Dexter’s father is dying and he will soon be a Duke and needs an heir. Dexter also realizes it was always Georgiana that he wanted, now that she has sworn off men and remarriage. She agrees to help him find a duchess and the story begins. I am now officially a fan of fossils! This story is very touching and steamy.

The Governess Gamble
“Like most men, Chance Allerton was a ninnyhammer when it came to affairs of the heart.”

A captivating story that so moved me based on mutual respect, yet plenty of heat, and included the power of being yourself even when society disapproves. Franny is true to herself, even when she knows between her father and society, she has no other options but an arranged marriage. But she still wants to live for the moment until that happens and so when she finds out that Chance needs a temporary governess, she uses wiles to make it happen. A lovely read with great characters.

The Daring Debutante
“She was sunlight, and he was dusk, but it worked, their merger. On some mad level, they balanced each other in ways he’d heard about his entire life.”

I was smiling the whole time I was reading this steamy, fun and enchanting story. So wonderful to see Nigel and Arabella, the now grown children of the Streeter and Macauley’s brood find their HEA. Arabella is just like her Mama, a woman who knows what she wants, and all the roadblocks Nigel tried to tell himself matter, really don’t.

A trio of heartwarming and entertaining holiday treats from the Duchess Society.

The Ice Duchess
Georgie and Dex haven’t seen each other in over seven years. Dex left after a fight with his father, the Duke, over his desire to be a geologist. Georgie was forced to marry a cruel man older than her father. She now widowed, doesn’t wish to marry and has formed a group, The Duchess Society, to help guide young women in making more amenable marriage contracts. Dex has come back to be with the Duke, who is dying. They meet at a Christmastide party and just can’t fight that feeling. They are still attracted to each other and the chemistry between them sizzles, but Georgie still carries pain from her first marriage. Dex is determined to ease her fear and carefully bring her back to the girl he fell in love with.

The Governess Gamble
Francine is in London to find a titled husband. Hildy and the Duchess Society are checking out the prospects her father favors. Francine is in the office when Chance Allerton, Viscount Remington, comes to Hildy for help finding a governess for his new ward. Francine volunteers for the job. Chance tries to stay away from the governess, but watching her with Kat touches his heart. There is also the rather hot attraction between him and Francine. An estate in bad shape, an unruly brother, a smart talkative ward, and a governess who wants to sketch him make for a delightful dilemma and a charming story.

The Daring Debutante
Arabella MacCauley has set her sights on Nigel Streeter. He doesn’t feel worthy of her, but she intends to show him differently. The fathers, Tobias and Xander, offer their offspring some sound advice based on their romantic experiences. An awesome story introducing the next generation of the Leighton Cluster and the Duchess Society.

His Wicked Little Christmas by Tracy Sumner is a collection of three books from The Duchess Society series.

First up are Dex and Georgie. They were childhood friends who shared a kiss before he left to pursue his passion for geology. She was married off to a horrible elderly man to save her family’s finances. She was widowed and enjoying her newfound independence when Dex returned to Derbyshire.

I truly enjoyed rereading their love story. Second chance romance can be so entrancing. I appreciated how Ms. Sumner used their childhood friendship to deepen the meaning behind certain gestures.

The Governess Gamble is Franny and Chance’s story. Franny is a spitfire. I enjoyed her character. I related to her because she doesn’t have the ideal figure that Society deems to be the ideal. Ms. Sumner’s twist of the hero being the one holding out for a love match was unique. I enjoyed the plotline even though deception in a story is usually a pet peeve of mine.

The Daring Debutante features Nigel and Arabella. Nigel and Arabella are a magical couple. I think their story gives their parents’ stories a run for the money as far as which is my favorite of the series, though Dash’s story also has a special place in my heart.

Arabella is the best combination of her mom and dad. She’s like her mom in that she sees the value in her man that he doesn’t necessarily see, and she’s like her dad, actually both of her parents in that she foes after what she wants. I love that during a heart to heart, Mac confessed to Bell as he calls her, that she’s the child he most sees himself in.

As you may be able to tell from this review, Tracy Sumner is one of my favorite authors. I can always trust that her stories will transport me to another place and time, at least for a little while.

I received an ARC. The opinions expressed above are mine.

The Ice Duchess
Two childhood friends reconnecting after many years. After an absence which feels as abandonment and a disastrous marriage to an old cruel husband to save her father’s estate, the Ice Duchess is not prepared to thaw or is she? With a wink and a nod to gay liaisons, an endearing tale of love and friendship. A delicate atmosphere of sadness, nostalgia, desire, and fear. Of what? Of the future? Of love?
There is nothing new under the sun. God knows that, even nowadays, a toxic relationship can lock your feelings and your hopes away. Make Ice Duchesses of our modern selves.

The Governess Gamble
Franny is an American in London seeking a title. Well, at least, her father is. Wanting some adventure before doing her duty and marrying an insipid baron, Franny poses as a governess for the 6-year-old ward of Viscount Remington, a notorious rake. Aside from the crush she has had for him since the first time she saw him, she adores the little girl.
A recipe for disaster …

The Daring Debutante
If one should believe Nigel Streeter, Arabella Macauley has inherited the worst traits of her mother’s personality: headstrong, not to say stubborn, adventurous, meddlesome, irritating … in fact, also a carbon copy of her father’s character.
They have known each other forever, it seems, but they are not really friends, although Arabella has loved him for years.
Well, change is in the air. Feelings develop almost against Nigel’s will between the young woman with a big heart and the gaming hell owner who has buried his and thinks he is not good enough for her, he is too old, too experienced.
Steam aplenty, witty dialogues and a worthy continuation of the Duchess Society now that the next generation is taking over.

❄️ The Ice Duchess: Dexter Reed Munro, the reluctant future Duke of Markham, returns to London with a deadline: name a fiancée by Twelfth Night. But his heart has already chosen Georgiana Whitcomb, the Ice Countess and founder of The Duchess Society. Georgie, scarred by a cruel marriage and fiercely independent, isn’t about to surrender easily. Dex’s tender persistence and Georgie’s icy resolve collide in a romance that’s witty, steamy, and utterly swoon-worthy. Their second-chance love story sparkles with emotional depth and holiday magic.

🎁The Governess Gamble: American heiress Francine Shaw flees scandal by becoming a governess in England, landing in the chaotic household of Chance Allerton, a newly minted Viscount with a rakish grin and a heart of gold. Their chemistry ignites instantly, but love is the one gamble neither expected to take. Franny’s sharp wit and Chance’s hidden tenderness make this festive romance a delicious blend of steam, sass, and heartfelt vulnerability. It’s a holiday escape with heat and heart in equal measure.

🎄 The Daring Debutante: Arabella Macauley, the darling of the ton, sets her sights on Nigel Streeter—a man burdened by secrets and convinced he’s unworthy of love. But Arabella, daughter of Duchess Society royalty, isn’t one to back down. Their story is a slow-burn stunner, rich with emotional tension, sizzling attraction, and the kind of family support that makes your heart ache in the best way. With echoes of her mother’s legendary pursuit of love, Arabella proves that courage and compassion can rewrite any ending.

The Ice Duchess Good short story to start the new Duchess Society series. Georgiana had a long crush on Dexter (brother best friend), but he left to go off on adventure and she was married off to a man older than her father. Now a widow, she can do what she wants. Good second chance, male pursuer story where the hero needs to convince the heroine he's all in for her. Nice HEA.

The Governess Gamble Chance is the Viscount Remington, stuck with a decaying estate, debts, a wayward brother and now a little girl ward. He needs a governess, at least for the holidays. Frannie is an American heiress whose father is looking to marry her off due to an indiscretion. She agrees to act as the governess on a lark, although it also gives her the opportunity to be in Chance's orbit. She's attracted, even though he's totally unsuitable. More of a rake than a husband. Great story with amusing HEA.

The Daring Debutante Arabella and Nigel are the offspring of two of the most loved Duchess Society couples. Based on her own parents love story Arabella knows to go after what she wants, even if Nigel is convinced he's too old and not good enough socially for her. But she's not giving up and he can't help himself from being the protective hero. These two burn up the sheets and the pages of this story. I loved how the first gen couples helped this couple along, giving great advice. And a very nice HEA. I hope this is the beginning of more second gen stories.

Book 1: The Ice Duchess
Georgiana had to marry a man old enough to be her father and since his death she has been involved with the Duchess Society which teaches young women how to bargain before she gets married. When her best friend Dexter comes back from his travels they reconnect and Dexter wants to marry her as he will be a Duke soon but she vowed long ago she would never marry again. Enjoyed this book with all the heat as Dexter tries to convince her that she is all he wants.
Book 2: The Governess
Franny has been shipped from America to England to find a husband which should not be hard as her father is wealthy. When she meets Lord Remington who is the rake of London she falls for him but his estates are in ruin and he has no wealth to fix them but when he takes his cousins young daughter in Franny gets hired as her governess. This turns into a lovey Christmas for all.
Book 3: A Daring Debutant
When Bella sets her sights on marrying Nigel who is her father’s partner in the Devils Lair he has no where to run and really doesn’t want to. In the fast paced book Bella sets out to get the one man that she has always been drawn to and Nigel wants her but thinks he too old and being a orphaned he is too low but before he knows it she has him right where she wants him.

His Wicked Little Christmas is a collection of three novellas previously published separately in the author’s Duchess Society series, now together in a saucy holiday romance set that will surely warm the cockles of your heart.
Each book is wonderfully written and entertains with well crafted characters and reads as good the second time around as the first.

The Ice Duchess is the first and my favorite of second chances and redemptions with leads Dexter and Georgiana. He who has promised his dying father he will wed before twelfth night, and she who has vowed never to marry again.
They have a past history that did not end well, so will a spicy, heartfelt, passionate reunification prevail?

The Governess Gamble brings American heiress Francine Shaw to London and in need of a husband before Christmas.
Ending up as a governess in the home of Viscount Chance Allerton leads to more than she planned for but did add a little spice to the eggnog.

The Daring Debutante features MMC Nigel Streeter who has wealth and power but a heart in need of healing from past hurts.
I would say vivacious Arabella Macauley becomes the perfect tonic for his affliction if only she wasn’t forbidden to him.

All three stories are full of personal vulnerability, angst, witty banter, secrets, steamy encounters, and heart tugging emotion that will rock their regency worlds!
HEA’s.

In The Ice Duchess, I don't think Dex realized he had feelings for Georgie until he asked her to help him find a lady to marry by his dying father's deadline. At first I shook my head wondering why she was so stubborn, refusing the possibility of them having a future together when it was once all she ever wanted. But her romantic ideals were shattered after her father sold her to the highest bidder, a cruel, controlling earl. Dex is very romantic with his personal gifts and the sexy way he tells her about all he wants to experience with her. How can she say she'll never marry again and encourage him marry another when his heart wants her?

In The Governess Gamble, American Franny comes from a wealthy family looking to align themselves with an impoverished English aristocrat regardless of what she wants so when an opportunity to be a governess for Chance's lonely new ward Kat and sketch him she jumps at it. They are both artists, she with her drawings and he with his secret furniture designs. Chance is angry she's the not the impoverished governess her thought but is attracted to her. Will he fight for her before she lets her father marry her off to another?

In The Daring Debutante, Arabella is determined to kiss gambling house owner and son of her father's best friend Nigel. But one kiss is not enough if only he can see her as more than different upbringing and their age difference.

THE ICE DUCHESS
I warmed up to this regency romance very quickly. Georgie and Dex were amazing together. She was hurt before by a cruel husband, can Dex break down her icy barrier to get to the girl he once knew and knew was still there. He longed for her, and she for him and one of the best lines of the book when she realised she would finally accept him - I love him. I want him. I need him - was so special. A second chance romance and a scandalous Christmas wager changes everything. A wonderful written romance not to be missed.

THE GOVERNESS GAMBLE
A lovely and enjoyable Christmas romance where a rake and accidental governess find love. Francine who is really an American heiress fleeing a scandal and Chance a rake who really wants to find true love are fun and likeable. I was quickly drawn to them and their story. This is part of the Duchess Society series and gives you a bit of intrigue and sizzle.

THE DARING DEBUTANTE
What a delicious, steamy and sensual romance. The next generation is just as good. Loved Arabella, she's daring and feisty and poor Nigel doesn't stand a chance with love barrelling down on him. He soon comes around and their hearts desire wins out towards a passionate happily ever after.

A Wicked Little Christmas by Tracy Sumner

~ Excellent holiday stories by one of my favorite authors ~ Loved every one of these stories and all the rest in the series ~ Full Reviews can be found under their individual titles ~

THE ICE DUCHESS: Swept into the past, I fell in love with Georgiana and Dexter. These two were definitely soul mates, if such exist! They may have had a rough patch for a while but thankfully things came right for them in the end!

THE GOVERNESS GAMBLE: Excellent story – couldn’t put it down – This novella length story started with a great first act and continued to engage me to the last page. Loved both main characters and young Francine!

THE DARING DEBUTANTE: I read this book as part of an anthology and loved it then and love it still. It was a great addition to the The Duchess Society series. Nigel Streeter and Arabella Macauley have known each other since childhood. Arabella is a bit like her mother in that she knows what she wants, is willing to go after it, and she wants Nigel. Fun story that made me smile. Looking forward to rereading it again soon.

Thank you to the author and BookSirens for the ARC – This is my honest review.
