She’s the woman who’ll stop at nothing to get justice.
Even if it means getting uncomfortably close to the man she hates.
Rafael devastatingly handsome, notoriously difficult billionaire CEO of Fairfax Guardian. His staff alternately love him and loathe him.
He’s also the brother of my best friend, Dove. I have every reason to despise him after I hear him talking about my father one day. Unfortunately, I need him too.
Because my father is in prison for fraud, and I’m determined to get him released. If I can get close to Rafael by working for his company, I’m confident I can prove his innocence.
It won’t be easy. Rafael is adamant that my father is a crook, and seems personally invested in him staying in prison. But if dealing with Rafael is the price I have to pay for justice, then so be it. He might be cold and grouchy, and glare at me like he hates me. But just sometimes I catch him looking at me and there’s a flicker of something else entirely…
In Love and Revenge is a sizzling billionaire boss, enemies to lovers, dual point of view romance, starring gorgeous, arrogant CEO Rafael Fairfax and his secret obsession, beautiful, determined Aurora Thorne, that’s perfect for fans of T L Swan and Rosa Lucas.
What the f did i just read here 😂 In the beginning of the book is already bad enough that made me want to puke. And when it comes with the heroine’s first POV, it starts with her fvcking someone else. Someone else is fvcking her. Sorry but it’s just not for me 😂 I don’t like this type of book at all especially with the opening are like that😅😅 Yeah a big fat giant NOOOO for me… The cover was great but not for me… When a story starts like that it made me not want to read it all😅 I’m go straight to the point like that 😄😄😄
In the beginning of the book it starts with the hero’s POV and he is A STRIP CLUB. Yeah like wtf is that?!😂 But I’m like oh it’s ok i mean he probably will go away right? Ooh nooo… The hero went in to the private room with a stripper and have a lap dance and almost fvcked the woman. And the most disgusting scenes is where he even says in his head “she’s not her.” Like her who? But I don’t even want to know who and why cause it was super annoying at this point with that scenes in the opening of the book. When the hero says “You’re just not her.”She gazes at me in wonder, her eyes sparkling back to life, still so eager to please. I get it. I’ve been told I have the face of a god, and the body of the devil. Women are usually more than happy to fall into bed with me with no expectations.” Yeah super aszhole here 🤮
I am sorry, but if a book is labeled as romance yet begins with scenes such as these, I will not continue reading it 😥 For me, the initial impressions of a romance novel are incredibly important. I prefer it when a romance book starts with the couple being single and not having sex with anyone else at the beginning of the story. THATS JUST WHAT I PREFER THO🤭 Idk bout you tho😅😂 However, this book failed me in its opening scenes, so I am skipping this one…
If you read this book and have more informations, let me know in the comments🤭😋😋
‘I’ve known for a while that I’m desperately, hopelessly, undeniably in love with Aurora Thorne.’
Wow Elle! I couldn’t put this one down, what a story!
Rafael and Aurora have crazy chemistry that starts off as hate but then we get to watch it cross that fine line to love. I was hooked and the book took a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming! Going in to this one blind is definitely the way to go, and whilst a few characters from the authors other series are mentioned, this is very much a stand alone (though if you haven’t already I think you’ll want to go back and read about those Beaufort billionaires too!)
I loved Aurora’s character the whole way through- she is so strong, resourceful and devoted to her father. Rafael on the other hand infuriated me at times! But he’s one of those characters that really makes a book and keeps you wanting to read on to see what he’s going to do next!
I’m really intrigued by Rafael’s siblings and hope we get books for all 3 of them too.
If you enjoy a little bit of angst, a lot of spice and a possessive billionaire- this one’s for you!
Thank you to Elle, Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC.
Overall Book Review: Elle Nicoll knocked it out of the park AGAIN!!!
This enemies to lovers was an ACTUAL enemies to lovers. They didn’t just not like each other, they HATED each other! The hate was soooo good, that it made the tensions so damn delicious and connection later that much better!! Their first sex scene literally rewrote my brain chemistry. I had to sit with myself and my thoughts for a good 5 minutes before I could continue, I kid you not. Just me…staring at a wall…thinking about everything that happened.
I loved how after everything that was thrown at Aurora, she just kept chugging along. She didn’t seek handouts from her best friend, she didn’t pout about her new life; she pulled herself up by her bootstraps and put all of her effort towards trying to solve the case against her father, not for a moment considering her uncomfortable living situations and jobs. I loved that she was not one for self-pity, but was determined and strong.
I loved how Rafael was so guarded because of his past as well as what he thought he knew about Aurora, but as he formed a genuine connection with her, he was able to open up and allow himself to be loved instead of trying to stay alone. I loved his strength in allowing himself to feel those things after so many years of running from them. The fact that this titan crawled for our girl and apologized in the best ways, was just another added layer to what made him amazing.
I need Dove’s story ASAP! I have much to think about her ex-whatever the hell he was because she is amazing and I will hear nothing to the contrary about my badass business babe. Gabe seems like he is going to break my heart and then Benedict is going to rub biscuits into it. And Angelo…my rebellious, emotions-driven madman. You are mine 😉
Such a good age gap, best friend’s brother romance full of sexy tension and the right amount of mystery! Check it out on pub day!
Thank you to Elle Nicoll for the physical and eARC!
Audiobook Review This was such a fantastic book to listen to the audio for. The voice actors were incredibly perfect for the roles of Rafael and Aurora, really bringing the characters to life. I could really feel the personalities and feelings of the characters coming through the voice actors, which isn't always guaranteed with audiobooks. I especially enjoyed Chapter 21 and 27 (IYKYK!); all the lip biting, blushing, and giggling ensued!
I was completely unprepared for how obsessed I’d become with this book. Elle absolutely outdid herself with this story. I expected the chemistry and tension, but I did not expect the emotional intensity to hit me the way it did. Beneath all the obsession, possessiveness, and scorching moments was a love story that genuinely made my chest ache at times. Rafael was the perfect balance of grumpy, possessive, and hopelessly obsessed with Aurora. His feelings for her hid behind his stern exterior, but in private, all he wanted was to claim her as his. And the filthy things that came out of his mouth? I was kicking my feet the entire time. What made him even more irresistible was the softness underneath it all. Beneath the control and intensity was a man completely gone for her, and I swooned so hard over every second of it. This book instantly became a favorite for me.
I ran to read this and loved every moment of it…I finished it in a single day! Rafael was the perfect grumpy MMC. I loved his protectiveness, his filthy mouth, and his groveling was a chef’s kiss. And Aurora, I absolutely adored her. She’s feisty, strong, determined, and incredibly resilient. I really admired the devotion she has to her father.
The chemistry between them? Absolutely fire. They couldn’t stay away from each other, and the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Rafael’s obsession with her… whew. And the spice? Just as hot. Elle really had me side-eyeing everyday objects—first a glass cup (in a previous book), now a pen… what’s next? 😂
The twists and turns kept me completely hooked. As much as I loved Rafael’s groveling, I appreciated his growth even more by the end, loving someone deeply but still being willing to let them go. I enjoy all the side characters, especially Benedict lol. I can't wait to read each of their own book.
Thank you to Elle Nicoll and Netgalley for the early copy. This is my own opinion.
The bones are here. The book is just 25% too long.
Rafael and Aurora have real potential as a pair, but getting to them requires wading through withheld context, scene-jumping, and a dynamic that reads less like enemies-to-lovers and more like a misogynistic power imbalance dressed up as tension. By the time the final twist lands, the book has already asked for too much.
I liked these characters at the core. The “extra” buried them. Not sure I’ll continue the series.
Love and Revenge was such a fun and addictive listen.
This book has all the classic billionaire romance elements—hot, possessive MMC, “you’re mine” energy, age gap, lots of tension—but it also adds an investigation subplot that made the story way more engaging than I expected.
Aurora, the FMC, is trying to prove her father’s innocence after he’s sent to jail for stealing money, while Rafael—already mildly obsessed with her since she’s his sister’s best friend—is convinced her father is guilty. That setup created a lot of emotional tension and made their relationship dynamic really entertaining from the start.
What I enjoyed most about the book were the layers within the story, especially emotionally. Rafael could definitely lean a little too alpha at times, but his character development throughout the novel was honestly beautiful to watch. By the end, he felt much more emotionally open and nuanced than he initially appeared.
Aurora frustrated me occasionally because she could be a bit naïve, but at the same time, she’s only 25, and I think the story handled that balance fairly well.
My main issue was the mystery aspect. I guessed who the real criminal was almost immediately—basically from the moment they appeared on page—and once the book fully shifted into the investigation reveal, it lost some impact for me because I had already figured it out very early on.
Still, outside of that predictability, I genuinely enjoyed the experience. If you love billionaire romances with actual plot, emotional growth, and a decent amount of spice, this is definitely one to check out.
And finally, a quick note on the audiobook: the voice actors were amazing. The dialogue flowed naturally, the performances were engaging, and Rafael’s voice? Loved it.
I just want to say thank you first of all to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.
I absolutely LOVED this book Enemies to lovers mixed with a billionaire romance, give me this book everyday of the week. . It made me laugh and cry at some parts. I instantly fell in love with Aurora and Rafael and their tension!!!! I loved their bickering and how much they couldn’t stand each other but at the same time wanted each other.
I loved watching Rafael, a man who was out for revenge realise he’s actually in love with Aurora. The spice in this book🌶️🌶️🌶️
When he CRAWLED to her I was shocked but happy at the same time, definitely one of my favourite part of the book.
My heart broke for Rafael when he was going through broken heart syndrome as it showed how much he genuinely loved and needed Aurora. When he let her go to better himself and give her space to process everything ugh my heart broke for both of them but watching them come back together was worth it.
First time I’ve ever read a Elle Nicoll book but it won’t be last.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I am totally and completely in love with this story and the characters. I was hooked from the start to the end. I love the enemies to lovers trope and this book delivered on that and some! The slow burn, angsty, bickering build up until they finally give in the their mutual attraction in chapter 21 (42%) is delicious and I loved every second of the tension. Elle has done it again and given us a book that I have fallen in love with completely, I loved the characters, the storyline, the banter, spice, angst, tension and just everything about it.
Aurora and her father, George, have always been close, it’s been just him and her since she was born after her mother died from complications with her birth. So when he’s convicted of a crime he didn’t commit she’s determined to do everything she can to prove his innocence and get him released from prison. She’s lost everything not just her father, but their home and all her possessions when they get repossessed and also her friends, all except Dove, her best friend. It’s just a shame that Dove’s eldest brother is Rafael, who Aurora detests. That feeling is very much mutual.
Rafael Fairfax is CEO of his family company and he despises George Fairfax who has been convicted of stealing money from the company he worked for, £240 million of which belonged to Rafe’s company. No one knows about this loss, he replaced the funds out of his own pocket to save the company, other than his friend and mentor Dominic. Rafael is unexplainable consumed and obsessed with Aurora, the only woman he’s ever felt these feelings toward, but he’s convinced, 100% certain she was aware of her fathers crimes and where he’s hidden the money he stole. He watches her fashion vlog videos repeatedly, whilst giving himself some *ahem* intimate attention whilst doing so.
He needs to get close to her to find out where his money is; she needs to get close to him to find leads to the questions she has so she can prove her father’s innocence. They should hate each other. They do hate each other. But you know what they say… there’s a thin line between love and hate.
I was absolutely here for the tension, insults and back and forth between them, the venom and disdain was evident but the chemistry and attraction between them was palpable. Then once they came together (😉) fireworks.
I adore an obsessive & possessive mmc and Rafe fits that bill perfectly, the turmoil he goes through trying to reconcile what he’s feeling and what his brain is telling him had me gripped. I also love a feisty, fiery, outspoken and determined fmc and Aurora was all of that, it with a vulnerable and slightly traumatised underlying essence beneath it all, a side of her she doesn’t let anyone get close to.
The character development they both go through is all played out through the story and done to perfection. From both of them being so completely focused on their goal (him to find his missing money and her to exonerate her father) to both learning to grow, deal with their respective past trauma’s, heal from them and move on and learn to trust themselves and each other. Seeing their walls come down and allowing each other into their hearts was a tumultuous road but so very worth it.
The spice, oh wow Elle writes it so well. The tension builds up so much through the first 40 odd percentage of the story that when they finally give in to their desire 🥵🫠😍 I don’t think I’ll ever look at a pen the same way (iykyk). The spice sure is spicing in this one! From Rafe’s filthy sinful mouth and the words he utters to the way Aurora makes him fall to his knees and crawl to him, utter perfection, *chefs kiss*.
I loved the side characters - George, Rafe’s parents Hillary & Stan (Elle really nailed writing a father figure we can all detest with him) to Rafe’s siblings Gabriel (& Benedict), Angelo and Dove. I really hope all 4 siblings get their own books! I know Elle has just announced that Dove’s story is going to be book 2, I can’t wait for that to come after getting hints of the story within this book!
I feel like the part of the storyline with the antagonist and what really happened with losing the £240m didn’t really get fully resolved in this book, but it does leave me wondering if it’s going to form some part of an ongoing subplot across the series as there were hints at ties going a little deeper and threads that can be pulled an followed. I’m intrigued to see if this pans out or not.
Overall a brilliantly entertaining read that is packed with humour, banter, tension, spice and captured my attention from start to finish. If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers, best friends older brother, age gap, billionaire romances this is definitely a book you need to read!
In Love & Revenge by Elle Nicoll completely consumed me from beginning to end ❤️🔥 This book delivered absolutely everything I love in an enemies-to-lovers billionaire romance: obsession, angst, tension, banter, emotional trauma, revenge, spice, & a slow-burn payoff that was so worth the wait. I was hooked from the very first chapter & honestly could not put it down. Elle Nicoll created a story that felt addictive, emotional, intense, & impossible not to become fully invested in.
Rafael Fairfax 😮💨🔥 Whew. This man was the definition of a grumpy, possessive, morally gray billionaire MMC. Cold, arrogant, obsessive, filthy mouthed, emotionally repressed, & completely consumed by Aurora from the moment she entered his orbit. Rafael is convinced Aurora’s father stole millions from his company, & he becomes determined to get close to her to uncover the truth. But underneath all his anger, revenge, & obsession is a man who slowly finds himself emotionally unraveling over the one woman he absolutely should hate. I loved the turmoil inside him as he struggled between his need for revenge & the feelings he couldn’t stop developing for Aurora. And when this man finally falls? He falls HARD.
Aurora Thorne was such an incredible FMC ❤️ She’s feisty, outspoken, resilient, determined, & deeply devoted to her father George, who has been imprisoned for a crime she fully believes he did not commit. Aurora has lost almost everything because of the accusations against her father, her home, stability, friendships, & the life she once knew; but she refuses to stop fighting for justice. I absolutely loved how strong she was throughout the story while still carrying vulnerability & emotional trauma underneath her determination. She challenged Rafael constantly, never backed down from him, & their banter was honestly perfection.
The chemistry between Rafael & Aurora was INSANE 🔥 The tension was so thick from the beginning that every interaction between them felt loaded with attraction, anger, frustration, & obsession. They hate each other. They need each other. And the line between love & hate becomes blurrier with every chapter. I lived for the slow burn buildup between them, especially the constant bickering, emotional push-and-pull, secret obsession energy, & mutual manipulation as both try getting close to each other for completely different reasons. Rafael secretly obsessing over Aurora while convincing himself she’s involved in her father’s crimes had me completely hooked.
And when the romance finally explodes around the halfway point? Whew 🥵❤️🔥 The payoff after all that tension was absolutely incredible. Elle writes chemistry & spice so well, & the emotional buildup beforehand made every scene between them hit even harder. Rafael’s filthy mouth combined with his obsession, possessiveness, & emotional unraveling made him such an addictive MMC. Meanwhile Aurora refuses to simply fall at his feet, which made their relationship dynamic even better because she challenged him constantly while still slowly letting her walls come down.
What I loved most about this story though was the emotional growth both characters go through. Rafael & Aurora begin the story driven by revenge, anger, mistrust, & personal goals, but over time they slowly learn to heal from their pasts, confront emotional trauma, & allow themselves to trust someone else completely. Watching their walls come down piece by piece while they slowly chose love over revenge was honestly one of my favorite parts of the story.
The twists & turns throughout this book kept me fully invested the entire time, & I genuinely never wanted the story to end. I also loved the side characters, especially Benedict, & I already need books for Rafael’s siblings immediately. Elle Nicoll once again delivered a romance filled with obsession, emotional intensity, addictive tension, explosive chemistry, angst, healing, & some truly unforgettable spice 😮💨✨
Ehhhhh I don’t really know how to feel about this book… it wasn’t bad, but there were things that pissed me off so bad.
The plot was fine I guess? It kept me entertained. Ngl, I really like enemies to lovers, but I’ve rarely read one I liked. This one… well. Can we even call it enemies to lovers when they say they hate each other, but our MMC has been jacking it to our FMC and our FMC has found our MMC hot? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I will say though, (I’m too lazy to check for sure) but I’m pretty sure it takes a while for them to actually jump in bed together, so kudos to the author for that. Sexual tension is so much better than instant gratification in the form of a sex scene right away.
Hmmmm I liked all of our side characters! I thought Dove was my perfect book best friend. I feel like so often book best friends tend to be too… in your face??? They take up too much space haha. The other brothers, her dad, and his mom were great. Fuck his dad though. Author did great writing an awful father.
The thing that pissed me off about this book was aurora at the end. I liked both MCs right up until then. My problem was I felt like she was mad/focusing on the wrong thing. She was going off on Rafael about the whole court thing but like. He told you he didn’t have all the info… he was literally manipulated by (our antagonist). How is that his fault. Was he supposed to lie to the court????? All of the evidence pointed to your dad being guilty. The court prosecuted him accordingly. Whether they should have is one thing (and frankly, I doubt they prosecuted him based off the mmc’s testimony alone, so there was probably other evidence). Again, how is that his fault??? What she should have been mad at was the fact that he lied to her for so long. Why wasn’t this something he told her when he first told her he loved her??? Or when he first told her he didn’t think her dad was guilty anymore. Tf were you waiting so long for????? Did you think it would turn out any other way???
Granted, after that initial blowup, she did say she was mad about the lying, but initially, idk. It just made me ?????? I liked how she made him grovel though… it’s about time some FMC made the MMC actually grovel for once. And I liked how she realized that what she did to Kate was similar to what he did to her! We love a mc with self reflection skills. And him standing up to his dad? 10/10.
Another thing that kind of… idk, it was just a mood killer. But there’re (I think) two explicit scenes of both MCs with other people at the beginning of the book. Honestly, I considered dropping it then. But I just tried to carry on, cause I really did like the plot, and it worked somewhat. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t niggle at the back of my brain the entire time though. I don’t even like it when characters talk about previous partners… actually reading it happen is just. No thanks.
Writing was fine! Nothing that stood out as awful to me.
One thing I never quite 100% got, but when *that event* happened with the other company, was our MMC underage? If so, then I’m pretty sure that falls under statutory rape. Cause our FMC says something along the lines of “oh but you were a kid”, but we never really got an age? And it really does matter- like was he a victim or just a shitty person? Either way though, fuck his dad for not letting him get some therapy.
Overall, it was pretty good? But the whole ending kinda brought it down for me. 3.5/5, rounded up.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book immediately caught my attention with its promise: an arrogant billionaire driven by revenge and a woman determined to get justice even if it means getting dangerously close to the man she hates.
This isn’t the first CEO romance I’ve read with that familiar power dynamic. The rich, dominant man who gets what he wants. I was curious to see how this story would stand out.
We follow Raphael, CEO of Fairfax Guardian, a family-run company led alongside his siblings. He carries the heavy expectations of his demanding father, who expects nothing less than success. Opposite him is Aurora Thorne, his sister’s best friend “She’s the daughter of George Thorne, a criminal who defrauded the company he worked for, stealing millions, and almost causing the collapse of several firms as a result.”
Aurora’s perspective on Raphael adds another layer: “He’s my best friend’s brother. He’s fourteen years older than me.” and “Perfectly proportioned cheekbones and angular jaw… The Fairfax male genes in full force, leaving little hope for the rest of the male population.”
Their relationship builds gradually, with a slow tension you feel from the very beginning. What starts as revenge for Raphael, I quote “fill her with my anger” slowly grows into a strong love where both of them begin to let their walls down. Around the middle of the book, that tension finally breaks and turns into more explicit, spicy moments.
I really enjoyed the dual POV between Raphael and Aurora. It adds depth and gives insight into both sides of the story. The author also brings humor into the dialogue, which I loved: “I do a better job of hiding the vomit that’s just flown up into my mouth than Raphael does.” and “Being a dick won’t make yours bigger, you know.” moments like these made me genuinely smirk.
There are also some memorable, more intense lines like: “I think I witnessed the afterlife and came back after my orgasm.” and “We’ve gone from hating, to fucking, to tolerating…” perfectly capturing the evolution of their relationship before their hearts finally start catching up.
Beyond the romance, there’s also a strong storyline around Aurora’s father and her search for the truth, proving his innocence. This adds an extra emotional layer to the story.
Another big plus for me were the side characters. They are well developed and don’t feel like background figures, which makes the world feel more complete. This isn’t just a surface-level CEO enemies-to-lovers story. The characters and their dynamics are given real depth. Also very curious about Angelo and Dove. I loved their vibe, they deserve their own book
Overall, a familiar trope but executed in a way that kept me interested. A solid 4star read for me. I’m curious about the rest of the All In Billionaires series.
"I’m a man who knows what he wants, Aurora. Even when what he wants is no good for him."
Revenge. Obsession. Love.
Absolutely fantastic!! I loved every single minute of this enemies to lovers, best friend’s brother, age gap, billionaire romance! My first book by this author and I already can't wait to read more!
Rafael Fairfax, CEO of Fairfax Guardian, held himself to extremely high standards with a constant need to prove himself, living in the shadows of his father's expectations. So when he lost a huge sum of money in a case of financial fraud, he was determined to do anything necessary to get it back and to exact revenge against the man he thought was responsible. The problem was that he couldn't stop fantasizing about that man's daughter.
Aurora Thorne lost everything, her home, her possessions and her father who had been imprisoned since being found guilty of stealing from the company he worked for. But Aurora knew he was innocent; she just had to prove it. And the key to that involved Rafael Fairfax.
Enemies from the start with an undeniable connection, Rafael and Aurora were impossibly addictive with a reckless kind of love, a balance of power and control, an intense battle of wills and restraint. Tethered by a thread, always one step away from sparking an inferno, what would happen if they gave into their attraction just once?
"I’m desperately, hopelessly, undeniably in love with Aurora Thorne. She’s seen all of my scars. And loves me because of them."
Yes, this was deliciously steamy, not to mention the things Rafael said and did can surely make a girl blush, yet his character contained multitudes and contradictions. There was so much more to him than first met the eye. Obsessed with vengeance but caring more than he wanted to admit, keeping people at arm’s length, masking jealousy and insecurities. To see him finally allow himself to take the risk of opening his heart, slowly, then all at once, to become vulnerable, was such a beautiful thing to witness. I loved how he earned Aurora's forgiveness, completely consumed with the fear of losing her, giving all that he had, finding the truths behind the secrets and lies and betrayals. How Aurora became his reason for everything! This story was so emotional and angsty and heartbreaking, reaching soul deep, a reminder to find it within yourself to feel worthy and to open your heart to the possibility of true love.
I absolutely loved it!! 🩷
"I’ll love you until the last beat of my broken heart, Beauty."
Highly recommend if you love: ✨️Billionaire Romance ✨️Best Friend’s Brother ✨️Enemies to Lovers ✨️Age Gap (39/25) ✨️Obsessed MMC
*Special thanks to author Elle Nicoll, Amazon Publishing UK | Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC!
I received this arc book from NetGalley. I loved this book but when the "true" problem arose on the book it became a disappointed. The problem should have been the FMC finding out the MMC put together the pieces of who truly took the money and put her dad in prison not the fact the MMC was a solicitor who gave his opinion given what he was given to analyze and then that is what drives the FMC to leave him. That is my only bad thing about the book. Other than that it gave me the possessive MMC who even goes to length to buy the apartments the FMC lives in to insulate the neighbors apartment so she doesn't hear him do his business through the wall. Then him buying the ex boyfriends work so she can fire him if she wanted to. This was a cute enemys to lovers. The MMC thinks the FMC is spending the money that got stolen from him which was 240 million pounds and it turns out that it was his "fatherly" mentors mistress who stole the money and he through the blame on the FMCs dad who went to jail for it. The FMC is trying to find evidence of who truly stole the money but she is coming up empty on finding who. Turns out the FMC is poor and she lives in an ugly apartment which accommodates her bed, living room, and kitchen together. When the FMC and MMC finally give in and get together the MMC starts piecing that she truly doesn't have the money neither does her dad. The MMC takes the time to look at the proof the FMC has and that's when a name clicks and he finds out it was his "fatherly" mentor. When the problem arises in the book the FMC leaves with the help of her best friend and her brothers who happen to be the siblings of the MMC. He puts the pieces together and he goes to her to help win her back. He starts feeling sick in one of those days that he was waiting for her. She gets there and doesn't see him standing where he usually waits for her but finds him on the floor. She calls an ambulance and turns out the MMC is suffering for "heartbreak syndrome" when he leaves the hospital he decides to the man she truly wants and needs so he leaves her. She breaks down but he reasons that she needs her space to truly heal and figure out herself. Two months pass and the MMC worked to get her dad out of prison. The FMC and her dad take a vacation. Then she puts a video on the internet which the MMC sees since he sees all the videos she puts online where she is saying she is unpacking but the background is his closet. The MMC takes off from his office to find the FMC in his home and they finally get together. I enjoyed the book aside from the "problem" that arose in the book. I was expecting another type of problem.

Talk about enemies to lovers… because Rafe and Aurora are the definition of. Elle Nicoll stuns me every time I pick up one of her books because I’m always immediately hooked. Hooked on the characters, the romance, the banter, and the spice. And once again I just could not put this book down for even a moment because I just had to know what was going to happen next! If you’re in the mood for a book that’s going to sweep you off your feet with an enemies to lovers romance, characters that are sweet, and sassy, and broody and grumpy but who love fiercely, banter that just never stops, amazing friends and a family that rally around their loved ones whether that’s as a soft spot to land or tough love, plenty of swoon-worthy moments, the perfect dash of spice and a happily ever after you won’t want to miss them In Love and Revenge is a must read!
Elle Nicoll makes me fall in love with her characters every time! You just can’t help but root for them and Aurora and Rafe have to be some of my favorites! Aurora is on a mission… a mission to prove her dad’s innocence. Even if no one else believes her or is willing to help. Even with her world literally having crumbled around her though Aurora remains steadfast, and sunshiney well for everyone except Rafe but she’s got her reasons for being stubborn when it comes to him. I just loved Aurora and her determination and never quite personality. How she wasn’t going to be out and out rude to anyone but she wasn’t afraid to defend herself and those she loved either. And how she was never once deterred from her mission. Rafe was on a mission to, a mission to find something stolen from him… and he thinks is Aurora is the perfect way to do that. Even if he is grumpy, stubborn and closed off for anyone outside of his inner circle. Even with all these traits you can’t help but love him though because even when he loathes Aurora he’s the first to step in and help her when needed. He’s the first to step up and protect his family whether they want him to or not. And while you’ll love these two individually…together their chemistry is off the charts! They’re slow-burn but highly passionate romance is just chock full of swoony and spicy moments that’ll have you flying through this read just to see what’s going to happen next! And loving every second! Truly I couldn’t put this book down and highly recommend it be added to any romance readers TBR! And I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Thank you to Elle Nicoll, the publishers, and netgalley for the chance to read this amazing book early!
Judging by the reviews I am seeing for this one, I am alone in this one just not hitting the mark for me.
The book was all over the place for me, at the beginning, I almost put it down. By the middle, I was mostly engaged, close to the end, I couldn't figure out why certain choices were made, as it felt like drama for the sake of drama, and by the end I am not sure what I was, but convinced the journey was worth it, I was not.
I almost put it down at the beginning. I get that this was an enemies to lovers, but Rafael and Aurora were written in such a harsh, for lack of a better word, way that they didn't strike me as people I wanted to know anything about.
I am not sure on the choices of the first time we meet Rafael, or the reason for the way Aurora and the boyfriend she dumps were portrayed, other than, maybe (and this is a stretch) to convince the readers that they really weren't that awful together? There are other ways to do this.
By the middle, I had actually started to get invested in their story. Although I am still not sure what was going on with the brother and the cat. But, not the point here.
And, then we got to the almost end? The added angst for angst sake? Honestly, I am not sure how we got here, how they got here, and why, as a reader, I needed to be along for this particular ride. I don't understand the choices that were made, or why, by honestly either character.
It felt like added angst to do nothing but add in angst when, rather ironically, the angst and the tension of the story was already there, it was just ignored and essentially resolved off the page happening as a surprise to one of the characters as well as the reader.
At that point, I was reading for no reason other than that I had gotten this far and can't DNF a title at more than 80%, and I had definitely lost all but a passing interest in what was happening with the characters and how their story resolved.
This is my first title by this author, and I will likely read her again, just to see if this was a one off, but it definitely wasn't a title I can recommend.

I honestly went into this book blind, and I'm so glad I did! Let me say, I was SO not ready for Rafael and Aurora, as they made it such an addictive read!
Rafe and Aurora's story starts out in typical enemies to lovers fashion, in which Rafe is convinced his sisters best friend, Aurora, is hiding something from him. In what starts out as Rafe seeking revenge against Aurora, he develops a deep infatuation with her 👀
Rafe is a typical billionaire - graced with good looks and pure arrogance to boot. He is intense and controlling, and expects nothing but perfection. However, being within Aurora's orbit simply makes him come undone, and I loved how we got to see Rafe attempt to navigate his hidden feelings towards her (oh, how the tables have turned!) 😮💨
Aurora is such a strong resilient character who I adored in this. She is determined to clear her father's name and stops at nothing to find out the truth, even if it means getting close to the 'enemy'.
Rafe and Aurora's love was simply was like no other. The all-consuming, death-til-we-part type that I could not help but be fully invested in! Rafe may seem to have it all, but with Aurora there is no denying that he simply can't resist and lets his guard down for her. Rafe is such a softy at heart, who refuses to let his father see him as weak. He carries such a burden that also sees him being afraid to love. Aurora is that person for Rafe, who loves him unconditionally, despite the initial intentions to the start of their relationship. I adored the way in which Rafe doted on Aurora, and just wanted to give her the world in return 🫠 Him wanting to be a better person for Aurora was just the icing on the cake, especially how he stepped away in order to give her space. However, the grovelling was much appreciated I must say, as their HEA could not have been sweeter for them!! 🤭💗
I seriously hope we get more from the Fairfax siblings, especially Dove and Vance's story. Considered me SAT! 🧎🏻♀️
Thank you to Elle, Montlake and Netgalley for giving me to opportunity to read this story in advance. All thoughts and opinions are my own 🫶🏻
In Love and Revenge is an enemies to lovers billionaire boss romance with the perfect mix of angst, tension, and heat. Rafael Fairfax is every bit the arrogant, controlling intense CEO you want in this trope, and Aurora Thorne matches him with strength, determination, and a fierce devotion to clearing her father’s name.
Rafael Fairfax is every bit the billionaire hero readers obsess over. Arrogant, intense, controlling, and infuriating in the most addictive way. He is the kind of man who makes you want to throw the book and then immediately pick it back up because you need to know what he does next. Beneath all that power and precision is a man completely undone by Aurora Thorne, even if he refuses to admit it. Aurora is strong, resourceful, and fiercely devoted to clearing her father’s name. Her determination adds real emotional weight to the story, and I found myself fully invested in uncovering the truth with her. The way her mission collides with Rafael’s world raises the stakes beautifully, especially with how he manages risk as a CEO while trying and failing to manage his feelings for her.
They begin with pure hate, then slip into something hotter and far more complicated, crossing that razor thin line into love. The evolution of their relationship is summed up perfectly in the line: “We’ve gone from hating, to fucking, to tolerating…” captures their relationships evolution perfectly. I loved seeing the cracks in Rafael’s armour and the way he softens only for Aurora. His growth by the end made me swoon even harder and root for him.
The plot around Aurora’s father adds mystery and emotional depth, and the twists genuinely surprised me. The story does drag in places, and a few sections felt rushed while other sections felt needlessly added in. The enemies to lovers trope is my ultimate favourite trope and I found it falling a bit short in this plot. Overall it was a well worth it read that kept me coming back for more.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for providing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I recently started reading this author’s work, and my feelings about the book are mixed. While I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it either. The plot was decent and kept me engaged, particularly because I enjoy enemies-to-lovers tropes, though I question if this one truly fits since both main characters were secretly attracted to each other.
I appreciated the gradual build-up of their intimacy, as I prefer sexual tension over rushed scenes. The side characters were enjoyable, especially Dove, who struck a nice balance as a supportive friend. However, I strongly disliked the MMC's father; the author did a great job crafting a believable, awful parent.
The ending left me frustrated, particularly with Aurora’s reaction. It felt unfair for her to blame Rafael for not sharing everything with her. Her anger should have focused on his early dishonesty instead. I did appreciate her standing her ground and demanding accountability while also recognizing her own flaws.
There were also distracting explicit scenes with other characters at the start, which almost made me put the book down. I generally dislike it when characters discuss past partners, so that was off-putting.
The writing was solid but not remarkable, and the timeline regarding a major event was confusing, particularly concerning the MMC's age. If he were underage, it would raise serious concerns. I empathized with him and wished he had received therapy due to his father's treatment.
Overall, it was a decent read, but the ending affected my rating. I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5, rounded up.
There is something so addictive about Elle Nicol books. They hook me from the very first page and I eat up every single world. She is my greatest find of 2026 and I have already devoured four books of hers so far.
This book was no different. I was sucked in from the start and couldnt wait to dive back in everytime I had to put it down.
The story starts of as enemies to lovers which built the tension and angst between Rafael and Aurora perfectly. They may have sniped at each other but you could tell there was an attraction there.
Rafael was a hot billionaire who was obsessed with Aurora. But he was intense, grumpy and looking for revenge. But when he fell, he fell fast, hard and was all types of swoony. He was simply impossible not to melt for.
The chemistry was sizzling but there was a real depth to the story. And although these two didn't want to like each other they were like magnets.
The way their relationship unfolded as the book went on was intriguing. They didn't quite trust each other but soon they were letting their walls down and vulnerabilities were starting to show . It really added layers to the story and I enjoyed it so much.
I love the way Elle writes. There's always a great romance story but she also takes you on a real ride with her books. The plot is always well detailed and executed beautifully.
I loved the investigative parts of Aurora trying to clear her dad's name and the way that Rafael started to learn the truth. There are always twists and turns and I just know I'm in for a great time with her books.
If billionaires with passionate love stories are your thing then you need to add this author to your tbr now. She doesn't disappoint.
I've read all of Elle's books and my favourite her second book, Discovering Mr. X, which is still giving all the later books a run for their money. Tanner and Rachel are just perfect. I don't really know why this didn't work so well for me but the beginning didn't help. The story starts with Rafael in a club where he gets a lap dance, giving her instructions to act like she despises him so he can fantasise that the naked dancer is Aurora. Yuck. Then we see Aurora with her boyfriend who makes me shudder, not least with his bedroom etiquette. So far, so bad as I prefer not to see the MCs with other naked people in a romance novel. I have to admit that Rafael was an arse but I actually loved him. It was obvious there was a lot going on with him that had nothing to do with Aurora and I just wanted to give him a hug. He tried hard and effed up but he never behaved badly, and went above and beyond when his heart was broken. I didn't warm to Aurora in the same way, though I applauded her determination to prove her father's innocence. Her behaviour at and after the dinner with Rafael's family didn't endear her to me. Secrets are never good but she didn't give him time to explain at all, and what upset her was actually him doing his job. I'm definitely no prude but there was an awful lot of sex and it felt as though that took up at least two-thirds of the pages. I could have done with more story, Almost forgot, WTF is it with Gabe and his cat? Bizarre.
I’m still trying to process this book… because WOW.
Rafael completely stole my heart. The grumpiness, the protectiveness, and that filthy mouth?? This man is the full package. And when I say he’s obsessed with Aurora… I mean there is nothing he wouldn’t do for her.
Aurora was just as powerful. She’s strong, resilient, and so easy to connect with. Her love for her dad was beautiful, and the way she carried herself through everything she faced made her such a standout FMC.
What I loved most about this story is that it wasn’t just a billionaire romance it had so much more depth. It explored love, revenge, sacrifice, and what it really means to show up for someone. There were moments that genuinely caught me off guard and had me emotional, which doesn’t happen often for me when reading.
Rafael and Aurora’s chemistry is intense from the start going from tension and hate straight into something deeper. Watching that shift happen was addictive, and the twists along the way kept me completely hooked.
And Rafael when he’s down bad??
Raises her salary without hesitation Buys the building she lives in Buys her ex’s company… just to fire him
Unhinged behavior. I ate it up.
This is definitely a go in blind kind of read. It’s fast-paced, emotional, and full of moments you won’t see coming.
Even though there are small connections to the author’s other books, this one stands strong on its own but don’t be surprised if you end up wanting to dive into the rest of the series after.
In Love and Revenge was definitely a different read for me. Enemies to lovers is my weakness, but this one hit so differently that at first, I wasn't sure if I could finish it. Rafael Fairfax was detestable, obnoxious, and so full of himself. No one was exempt from his hostility. And it was worse toward Aurora Thorne and her father, whom he held accountable for his one slip-up that could have lost his family their company. The poor girl hadn't personally done a single thing wrong to him, and yet he had so much disdain for her. Aurora was barely getting by, and along comes Rafael, her best friend's older brother, dumping his animosity onto her, making her life even more of a living hell. Rafael was a hateful person, but his journey toward redemption made me feel hopeful. I was about ready to give up on the book when he finally changed my mind.
Seeing these two characters go from enemies to lovers slightly revived my opinion of Rafe until he realized the error of his ways. Only then does he restore my belief that he is human. His obsession becomes true love, as he goes above and beyond to prove how much he loves his Beauty. Revenge only causes a heart to blacken and wither. Forgiveness is divine. Two souls who find their way from darkness to the bright side are stronger than ever before when forged in fire, as Rafael and Aurora soon learn. But life has a way of throwing curves that make you reevaluate your choices. Now the couple must decide how far they are willing to go for love.
Aurora's father is in prison for a crime that she is sure he didn't commit. She went from living the high life to holding the pieces together, while trying to find evidence to help her dad. Her best friend Dove's older brother Rafael detests Aurora believing she had knowledge of her father's crimes and is helping him hide the money that was stolen - several million of that belonging to Rafael. He is obsessed with revenge until he becomes obsessed with her. Tropes include age gap, enemies to lovers, best friends older brother, grumpy/sunshine, and obsessive hero. He calls her Beauty, even when he hates her - swoon. This is a spicy story but also has a plot with a bit of mystery. I knew pretty quickly most of what had actually happened to the missing money, but I thought the author did a good job of pacing and character development throughout the story. At no point was I bored.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Rafael and Aurora, the entertaining cast of supporting characters (I'd love to read a book about Joe!) including two furry friends, Rafe's dirty talk but also his willingness to submit to Aurora's wants, the balance of fire and heart in the story, and the growth the characters experience throughout the book, through the bulk is in the last 1/3 of the novel.
This is the first book in the All In Billionaires series and can be read as a standalone. There are some mentions of characters from Elle Nicoll's other series, but only in passing and it isn't necessary to have read those stories for this one to make complete sense.
I loved this so much wow. I was OBSESSED with the tension from the very first chapter 😭🖤 This book delivered EVERYTHING I love in a billionaire enemies-to-lovers romance. Especially the classic cold arrogant CEO, forced proximity, revenge, emotional tension, and a man who acts like he hates her while secretly being completely entranced by her. Rafael? Yeah he was INFURIATING in the best way possible. Cold, controlling, intimidating, emotionally unavailable. but every tiny crack in the walls he built had me absolutely giggling. The tension between him and Aurora was insane because you could feel the anger along with how attracted they were to each other. and they had unresolved emotions in every interaction. And Aurora honestly made this story even better. I loved how determined and strong she was while fighting for her father and refusing to back down, even when Rafael made everything difficult for her. Their dynamic was so addictive because neither of them wanted to give in first. So it was all the more worth it when they actually gave in. The slow burn and emotional push-and-pull in this book was amazing. SO GOOD. The little moments where Rafael’s obsession and protectiveness start slipping through all the coldness had me kicking my feet.
If you love: 🖤 enemies to lovers 🖤 billionaire CEO romance 🖤 workplace tension 🖤 revenge & secrets 🖤 arrogant MMCs 🖤 emotional slow burn 🖤 “he hates everyone but her” vibes 🖤 intense chemistry
I always enjoy Elle's books and this one was no different. I love Elle's way of creating an interesting plot, spice, and drama all in one. I'm still waiting for the 4th book in the Beaufort series...will have to wait till the fall!!
This book featured Aurora and Rafe. Aurora's father is in jail, accused of stealing $242 million. When her dad went to jail, she lost everything and now is working cleaning people's houses and walking dogs. She loves fashion and has a fashion vlog. Her best friend is Dove, who is the sister to Rafe.
Rafe is the CEO of a family financial insurance company. He is grumpy, demanding, controlling and obsessed with Aurora. Obsessed and wants revenge. He wants to avoid Aurora, but seems to be around her because of Dove.
Aurora believes her dad is innocent and spends her free time and money trying to get his case looked at again. Things happen that put Aurora and Rafe seeing each other more and their love/hate relationship progressing!
I enjoyed this book because it was easy to read, interesting, and fast paced that will have you turning pages. This was the first book of this new series, and this book seems to set the stage for the next books. There are a lot of characters, a lot of side plots, and things you know will be a bigger deal in the coming books. If it was a standalone, I would think all the side plots would be unnecessary. but because it's a series, you can see how it's giving background.
As always, I enjoy Elle's books and will continue to read them and look forward to them!
Where do I start… Elle is one of my most favourite authors and I have read all her books and love each and every one of them 💕 I was lucky enough to be able to join her ARC list so again Elle thank you for the opportunity ♥️
In Love and Revenge is the first book in Elle’s new series and it’s Rafael and Aurora’s story.
If you have read Elle’s Beaufort series then Rafael makes an appearance in The Love Hater as Sullivans friend and no spoilers but you may get some characters from that series make an appearance in this book (if you haven’t read that series you really must!!)
Rafael is grumpy and underneath all that somewhat a broken soul.
This is an enemies to lovers and best friend’s older brother, Aurora is best friends with Rafael’s sister, Dove 🕊️. There is an also an age gap.
Elle had me hooked from page one, I don’t like giving too much away in the review so I don’t unintentionally spoil it for other readers but Chapters 30 to 32 were just brilliant in my opinion where there is a realisation and the way it was written is just perfect 💕
This book is full of angst, emotion, lust, spice, heartbreak, love and of course revenge!
This book made me swoon, it broke my heart but also put me back together 🥰
It also sets the scene nicely for book two which I cannot wait for!
Elle, you know how much I love your books, thank you for sharing your wonderful stories with us and congratulations on another excellent book and start to what I know will be another fabulous series 👏
Elle has done it again with another utterly addictive read that had me hooked from the very first page. This story delivers the perfect balance of angst, tension and sizzling romance, wrapped up in a gripping enemies-to-lovers storyline that kept me turning pages late into the night.
Rafael Fairfax is everything you want in a billionaire hero - arrogant, intense, frustratingly controlling, yet impossible not to fall for. The chemistry between him and Aurora crackles from the start, with every confrontation layered with emotion, secrets and undeniable attraction. I loved how their relationship developed through all the mistrust and emotional tension, making every vulnerable moment hit even harder.
The plot was just as compelling as the romance. Aurora’s determination to clear her father’s name added real depth and emotion to the story and I found myself completely invested in uncovering the truth alongside her. Rafael’s connection to the situation made the stakes feel even higher and the push-and-pull between them was executed perfectly.
Emotional, romantic, dramatic and completely consuming this book is another standout from Elle. If you love brooding billionaire heroes, strong heroines, family secrets and slow-burn tension that pays off beautifully, you need to read this.
This author does it again with another AMAZING book. Elle has become an automatic read and buy when it comes to her writing and stories. She NEVER disappoints with her characters. I have been longing for Rafe's story since hearing him yearn over his sister's best friend and FINALLY I get to indulge in his story.
Rafe was a character I did not know I needed to meet. His stubbornness and yet his charm to get Aurora created so much tension in this book. When we meet these two characters, its like cats and dogs. They can not stand each other. For valid reasons of what they think is their truths. Rafe lost a lot of money because of Aurora's dad creating anger towards her family and Aurora knows her father is innocent and yet hearing Rafe talk bad about her father left her with a sour taste. Never once communicating their feelings, they just banter with each other creating the best tension there is for an Enemies to Lovers.
The Narrators, did not disappoint either with voicing these characters. Kitty Kelly and Will Thorne, I give you both a standing ovation and applaud for the amazing work you did. You two really went far and beyond for these characters and I enjoyed the audio so much.
Overall, Please add to your TBRs. Elle's books are VIP level amazing reads and her stories stick with you. Thank you Elle!!!!!
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for sharing this ARC.
The book is a billionaire spicy romance, where the MMC’s only goal in life is currently to ruin the FMC, after having lost hundreds of millions to fraud (allegedly her father stole money from a company the MMC invested in)
Physical attraction moves to obsession and revenge ploys, until hate turns into love.
Aurora is a great character, she’s beautiful and smart, loyal to the ones she love and really gives her all to the quest for truth and justice. She is not afraid to sacrifice herself, and she does not expect help from others, but works hard in everything she does
Rafael is Aurora’s best friend’s brother. For all his buisness acumen, he really is blind to so many things, as most of his personal life choices are led by a fear to keep disappointing his father, as well as some unresolved trauma and insecurities. Rafael really does redeem himself in the last few chapters, where his grovelling really does show a massive growth in him.
Personally I connected more to Aurora’s father story in the background, rather than the romance itself, but this is not the book’s fault.
I found some of the initial Rafael’s chapters a bit repetitive, as he kept obsessing over Aurora, but also without really moving the story forward . Through the book, I enjoyed Aurora’s chapters more.
