Poseidon is used to people falling at his feet...and yet, Laila refuses to.
As a top chef, Poseidon is used to being in charge, and with his seafood restaurant on the brink of earning a new accolade, he's even more determined to be the best.
When Laila is charged with doing a write-up of Poseidon's restaurant, she never suspects that it could bring her face-to-face with a god. Or that some meddling from the Jinx Dating Agency might mean that she spends more time with him than expected.
Can the two of them see eye-to-eye when their jobs are expecting them to be pitted against one another?

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really like this series, they are fun and easy reads with little to no drama and this book was no exception. I had a great time reading about Poseidon and Laila as they fall in love. Both are foodies and I liked reading about the food they shared and hearing them talk about their passion for food. I really liked the food focus in this book.
Poseidon and Laila meet after she reviews his restaurant and they get talking about food. They grow closer and their romance deepens. I liked these two together. They have an obvious shared interest in their love of food and I like how that theme carries throughout their relationship. I liked reading about them spending time together and getting to know each other better. I especially liked the scenes with them cooking for each other or talking about food. There is a bit of steam later on as well as plenty of sweet scenes involving the two of them.
I liked the mythology aspect of this one and learning a bit about Poseidon and seeing how the author used the myths to influence his character. I also thought it was fun how he is a seahorse shifter.
This book has quite a few appearances and mentions of other characters in this series and it was fun to see some characters from previous books as well as get some hints for future books.
To summarize: This is such a fun series and I had a lot of fun reading this book. I liked reading about Poseidon and Laila, seeing how they meet and their relationship deepens. There are plenty of sweet scenes between them as well as some steam later on. I liked the strong food theme this book had with them both being passionate about food and that being one of the things they share. I especially liked the scenes were they cooked for each other and talked about food. There is some fun mythology in this one and I liked how Poseidon is a seahorse shifter. There are some appearances of characters from previous books and hints of future books.
In the latest installment of the Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency series, we get a fresh look at Poseidon. Moving away from the typical "King of the Sea" tropes, we meet a man who has traded his trident for a chef's knife. Laila is a food critic who gives as good as she gets.
It’s a low-stress, high-reward read for anyone who loves Greek mythology retellings with a contemporary flair.
While the romance is the star of the show, the culinary setting felt like it had untapped potential. As a reader who loves the art of cooking, I missed the technical 'magic' of the kitchen. I wish there had been more focus on the sensory experience of blending spices and the chemistry of how ingredients evolve into something new. Expanding on Poseidon's craft would have added an extra layer of depth to his character’s passion.
The author is such a food tease! But in a good way since I have soooo much fun imagining what the dishes in multiple series of hers would taste like IRL. I’ve even made a few here & there (or at least, something close to). Next might be ‘fried olives stuffed with feta’.
Before readers have a change to build up an appetite, we immediately dig into a tasting menu of delectables and drinkables. Not long afterwards, their interactions go from sweet to spicy with a sprinkling of sizzle. These two gastrophiles have me salivating for some authentic street food!!!
Here are a few samples of reviews from customers who dined at Poseidon’s Il Cavalluccio Marino: Mouthwatering magic! I’d like to give him a nibble! My tastebuds tingled the entire time! Chef, ple…umm, I mean “Check, please! I just HAD to Say Yes to all the Yummies! Don’t delay ordering those decadent desserts! May I get a take-out order? One chef to go, please! Forget the hawt chef (I think he’s recently taken) - feast your eyes on the fabulous food! Not only haute cuisine, but also a scrumptious chili hummus for dipping crunchy cucumbers!
This tale just might be an appetizer as there is more fabulous flirting in ‘Mated to Fenrir’.
This was my first foray into the Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency. As it is Book 12 in the series, I was a little concerned about background. It is a standalone and no prior knowledge of the characters were needed to enjoy the story, which is light and fun. Fans of Greek and Roman mythology will surely enjoy seeing their favorite god/desses brought to life and finding love! This story dragged a little for me at the start with all the details around the food and cooking; perhaps it’s just not an interest of mine. The date and later Jinx event were more readable for me, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the other characters. Thank you Laura for the ARC!
Synopsis: Fae journalist Laila has her hands full interviewing chef and restauranteur Poseidon. Sparks will fly around the kitchen - and outside of it! A Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency story. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I was sold at seahorse shifter to be honest. It's so rare that I had to take a read. It was a fun book. Laila are a good match, not just for their love of food, but also for their personalities. Poseidon has done a lot of work and is more easy going than the lore would say. He's clearly comfortable with himself and around others. Laila is similar. She's not the star of the show, but she isn't shy and demure. And they are both open and great communicators.
I recommend reading this before dinner. Otherwise you might suddenly find yourself quite hungry with no meal in sight. Leila is the friend of Ivy and Eloise who both have their own books, but it's not necessary to have read them to enjoy this one.
Laila, a food critic, and her friends dine at Poseidon’s restaurant. Interviewing the god is not what she expected. Instead of a contentious god, quick to anger, she finds another food-lover that is fun to be with.
Poseidon is surprised at Laila’s honest opinion about his dishes. She is easy to talk to and a good cook. Could they have a future together?
This is a sweet paranormal romance. The aquarium in his house sounds amazing. I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.
One facet of the Jinx series that I really enjoy is the "natural" feel of the characters - they have a "real" aspect to them - and this is very true with Laila & Poseidon.
This enjoyable cozy has the usual interesting mix of pantheons mashed together in a modern setting while focussing on two likeable main characters, with humour, intelligent & polite conversation, and an acceptance of each other's views & challenges.
(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)
Laila’s first big task at her new job is writing a review of Poseidon’s restaurant. A god with a reputation for anger issues is probably not the one to criticize. But Laila knows Indian cuisine and finds that Poseidon’s is lacking soul. She’s surprised when he wants to meet her and have her cook for him so he can improve. As they continue to meet at Jinx events and bond over their love of food, real attraction grows. Laila is used to her friends dating gods, but is she ready to take that step herself?
A quick and steamy read with love of food at the center. As with other books in the series, the intermingling of gods from different pantheons and the exploration of their mythologies creates a vibrant universe. Despite being framed around the Jinx Dating Agency, not all the characters are outright looking for romance, as is the case here. I feel that it makes the coming together of Laila and Poseidon more interesting as they truly learn about each other on their own timetable. I also enjoy the continued rivalry between the Greek and Roman pantheons as they are closely aligned with each other, as well as the associations humans made with the gods they worshipped. The multicultural nature of the series is wonderful for respectful representation as well.
This was a simple yet sweet story of how a Greek god-turned-chef won over his woman through their shared passion for gourmet food. Their courtship was written beautifully amidst delightful descriptions of various exotic dishes. The banter between Poseidon and Laila was engaging, with their witty exchanges showing just how compatible their passions and personalities were with each other. It was definitely a quick and pleasant read for me.
I'm a grateful recipient of a free review copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily.
Each Jinx story is a cute, sweet romance where there's a meet cute between a god and a human/fae/etc. This one involves Laila, a long-lived but not immortal fae, and Poseidon, Greek god of the seas. Despite his tempestuous reputation, Poseidon has been channeling his anger into cooking and now runs an upscale restaurant where Laila has been invited to sample and review his Around the World menu. Their shared passion for food draws Laila and Poseidon closer and readers will enjoy this quick romance. The characters are likable, the food sounds delicious, and overall it's a great story!
Dining with Poseidon (Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency #12) by Laura Greenwood is a paranormal romance novel. I always love reading this authors books. They always have a warm, happy feeling to them. They are just a fun read. This book is a different take on Poseidon and Greek Mythology.
Poseidon is chef in a kitchen in this installment. His love interest is Laila a food critic. The two of them definitely stir up chemistry with each other.
Another great book by Laura Greenwood. I can not wait for the next one.
This was a lovely standalone romp with paranormal main characters. Laila is a far food journalist, and meets Poseidon when reviewing his restaurant for her publication. There is immediate attraction, and you should read it to find out what comes next! I really like that there were nods to conservation and ethical fishing practices, and that Greenwood made the characters very likable. I will definitely read others in this series!!!
I liked Laila and Poseidon story - their relationship beginning with love for food and progressing to real love. And I liked that Laila dare to criticize him and stimulate him to made new and interesting recipes. Even that he is a god, Poseidon accept that he is not perfect And for Leila, he even accept Cupud, a roman pantheon god, becouse is with Leila’s friend. Can’t wait to read next Hel’s story!
I received an ARC copy and I left my honest voluntary review
Too cute. A cute romantic story about a food critic and the master chef. The spin on having mythology creatures just gives it a cute vibe. Poseidon being a master chef and owning his own restaurant. Laila being a foodie who just happens to be a journalistic food critic makes this story an easy read with feel good vibes.
I received a BookFunnel copy and voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A cute couple This is a sweet story with no angst. Laila and Poseidon have similar interests (food) and are instantly drawn to each other. They make a really cute couple. A quick read with a bit of steam. There are also appearances by other characters in the series.
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) of the ebook, and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
A Greek sea god turned chef & a travelling restaurant critic who finds the love that isn't a typical one in the beginning of their relationship.
I enjoyed this story with the expressive communication between each of the characters. I'm glad that in the end of the story they found a lovely connection.
What’s better than falling in love than falling in love over some fabulous meals? That’s what we get here. Add in a dash of good friends and some heated nights and call it a hea. Sweet, spicy and all romantic, simply a lovely read. I received an ARC from the author these are my sincere thoughts on this story.
This was a fun romantasy with a bit of spice carrying on with all the other gods and characters from the jinx dating agency. I love the fact that Poseidon is a seahorse shifter… along the same lines as Neptune. I do love how these books interlink but also can be read as standalones
This is part of a series but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. It was a pretty quick read for me, which I enjoyed. I really loved Laila and Poseidon and the way their story unfolded. I am looking forward to more in this series.
Another great Jinx Paramormal Dating Agency cozy romance, everything I have come to expect and enjoy about this series. Sweet and a little spicy, calm and uncomplicated romance. Short and sweet, always enjoy this series as a palate cleanser or when time is short for a quick read
A very good way to bond with someone, food. I liked the way they talked about the food. Different regions and places. Their shared love of food and different ways to make the same foods but with different spices and prepared differently. A strong pull to one another also. I enjoyed the story.
Laila is a food reviewer. Poseidon, the Greek Sea God, is a chef. Her review of his restaurant leads to a delectable combination of cooking, wine, and steamy romance.
Swimmingly fun. A sweet romance. Those would be ideal dates... good food, good company, and good times. Sometimes the best dates ate the simplest in nature. Enjoying this series.
A good story revolving around a Greek sea God and a food critic. I like the depth to the characters and how their romance blossoms, and how their love of good food is the foundation to it all.
A wonderfully sweet romance continuing the Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency series, with gods and mythology from round the world mixing. The god realm is fun to picture, a Greek temple next to a Chinese shrine, an Italian restaurant and Hade's night club "The Underworld". The idea of ancient gods dating in the modern world is also great. The story is lighthearted with plenty of humor, and there are some lovely heartfelt scenes between the main characters as they get to know each other over their joint love of food.
I really enjoyed reading this and 'watching' Poseidon and Laila fall in love after they meet following a review she did of his restaurant. When she mentions that one of his dishes was a little plain he invites her to cook for him (& he'll cook for her) to show him some better options. This leads to further dates and these two are lovely together, with their shared passion for food.
It was also lovely to imagine Poseidon as a small purple seahorse (I loved the image of the aquarium in his home) and seeing Eloise & Cupid and Ivy & Nick again.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
