Frederick Fyvie Bruce FBA was a Biblical scholar who supported the historical reliability of the New Testament. His first book, The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable? (1943), was voted by the American evangelical periodical Christianity Today in 2006 as one of the top 50 books "which had shaped evangelicals".
An excellent resource to use if you're doing a sermon series or textual study on Acts. Bruce knows his stuff and put in a ton of research into the background, text families, along with differing issues regarding the Greek text. If you're looking for a straight commentary that focuses on more expositional matters then this book isn't the best work to consult; there's plenty of other commentaries on Acts that assist with clearer exposition. If you're interested in delving into the Greek or intrigued by the textual questions regarding Acts then Bruce is a great resource. I primarily used this one for my beginning exegetical work for each of my sermons in Acts since he is dealing with Greek issues. A few area, like most commentaries, you'll find less agreeable, as with any commentary, but it's hard to argue with him on his knowledge. I'd highly recommend it if you're exegeting Acts or prepping for a sermon.
