Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
To what do I refer with that somewhat cryptic headline? Well, there’s no great mystery there, in fact. I’m referring to this book, lol. I have been waiting so long, and I was so excited to see that it had finally been published. I would’ve had an entire orchestra to play my celebratory music had I had the opportunity. Alas, I will have to settle for my words alone.
Moeller does not disappoint. This book brings us a lot more Nadia, more Tich and a whole BUNCH of dragons. There’s not much Riordan in this one, but I honestly couldn’t care, but I most certainly DID miss Sir Trandor, and one can only hope that he plays a more crucial role in the next book(s), or any role, at all, for that matter. And while he has developed her character to a greater degree than I expected, I think it would be really nice to see Tarlia’s character flushed out and developed more. But, I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.
It is also very interesting to see what he has done with this “ninth Marshall,” who is most definitely living up to every promise one could expect from the previous book. I think it would be incredibly interesting to see the dwarves and the frost Giants come in to this battle against the fire Giants , most especially the dwarfs, as their ridiculous outlook just makes them endlessly amusing. I can hear the dwarves arguing with Barden in my mind, even now, as I suspect, he is the only non-dwarf who might be able to understand them.
Ahhhh, the many hopes and dreams that I have for this series. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Enjoy!
Oh wait, I forgot my usual “disclaimer.” While these are technically standalone books, do not bother, do not BOTHER to read this one if you have not read the preceding 12 books. I realize they’re not available on Kindle unlimited, and many might object to the cost and no, I do not work for Mr. Mueller, but you will lose 90% of the value of the series if you do not read them in order. It’s just my opinion, and I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not. Well I’m not nearly as grandiose in scope and scale, the comparison I would draw would be between this series and Robert Jordan‘s “The Wheel of Time,” in terms of complexity and the need to read things in order.
Nadia's adventures keep on getting better and better (for us readers anyways). Worldbuilding and characters are surperb. The take on elves and other fantastic races are well thought out. Eagerly waiting for the next volume.
