Whiskey Bargain

I thought I’d be miserable planning my ex’s wedding, but a rugged cowboy turned distiller knows just how to relieve the pressure.

After fleeing back home to Huckleberry Springs, Montana, I become the new event planner for my family’s guest ranch. But the first event to plan is my cousin’s wedding to my cheating ex. If I don’t, my uncle won’t sign over his share of the ranch and forever mettle in our lives. So I take one for the team.

One night when I buckle under the stress, I also get a little—a lot—drunk. Saving me from myself is one of the cowboys that used to work for my dad. Durban Hennessy is now part owner in the local distillery, and he doesn’t do drama, distractions, or hot messes that just threw up on his boots. Still, he brings me to his place so I can sober up in private.

Durban’s providing wet bar service throughout the wedding festivities. The distiller with a superiority complex and I cross paths too often, but when he finds me in a store room, spiraling during the groom’s family dinner, he relieves the pressure in the hottest way possible.

So we strike a bargain. He’ll help me relax in the steamiest way possible, and he can repair his ego after getting dumped by his long distance relationship. When impromptu hookups turn into sleepovers that include intimate pillow talk, I know I’m in trouble. Because our whiskey bargain ends when the wedding does.

i stumbled upon Rose Walker’s writing a couple of months ago, and ever since, the author has been climbing her way into this year’s favorite discoveries.

Whiskey Bargain was such a fast-paced and addicting read, a true page-turner. i loved everything about the plotline, from the assumptions the mmc initially had about the fmc to the way he slowly learned more about her and realized she didn’t fit the cliché he had attributed to her at all. even though the romance started as a friends-with-benefits situation, it gradually arced into a slow burn, emotionally speaking. we slowly but surely witnessed both characters seeing more, feeling more, and growing closer.

one of the standout aspects of the storyline was how the heroine handled the whole chaotic situation of ”planning her ex-fiancé’s wedding with her cousin” with such grace and professionalism.

can’t wait for the next installments in this series to come out!

Binged.

I straight devoured this.

Durban & Campbell 🤠
Let’s start off with the absolute original names this is bringing.
Cowboy turned whiskey distiller
Grumpy with a secret beard covered dimple
Hawthorne daughter and event planner
Little dislike in the beginning.

She’s planning a wedding…. Her exes wedding… and he’s marrying her cousin…
I would’ve burned the place down.
But she gets a bargain with some stress relief…
With the older hottie also fresh off a break up.

I liked these two. Their relationship seemed genuine.
Banter was solid.

The end big scene moment oh my god holy swoon. 🔥

Whiskey Bargain is exactly the kind of small-town romance that hooks you with its chaos and keeps you invested with a couple whose chemistry practically crackles off the page or with a pairing you’d never expect to work, yet somehow absolutely does.

The setup is delightfully messy: Campbell, an event planner is forced to plan the wedding of her ex… to the cousin who betrayed her. If that isn’t enough drama, enter Durban Hennessy: former ranch cowboy, current distiller, and full-time grump with a surprisingly soft center.

At the beginning, I struggled to connect with the characters and the story: especially Campbell. I honestly didn’t think someone like her could handle everything being thrown her way. She gave me the impression of someone who would have told everyone to go to hell and then run off into the sunset. Instead, as the story unfolds, she proves me completely wrong. She takes responsibility, stays quiet when she could (and maybe should) scream, and doesn’t dump her stress onto her family. I genuinely don’t know how she coped before Durban showed up, so hats off to her.

Durban is THAT MAN : intense, silent, a little superior in a way that weirdly works, and the perfect perfect person to pull Campbell out of the emotional storm she’s in. At first, I wasn’t entirely convinced about their pairing. Durban often seemed frustrated with Campbell, seeing her as scatterbrained, frequently late, or not always considerate of others, which made it hard to imagine how they could truly connect. But once again, the author surprised me. As the story progresses, you can see the shift, how their “stress relief” arrangement slowly deepens not just through the spice, but through stolen moments, quiet conversations, and genuine vulnerability. It becomes something sweeter, more meaningful, and far more dangerous for both of them.

What I loved:
✨ the slow-build chemistry and cute banter
✨ a small-town setting full of charm and secondary characters that breathe life into every scene
✨ how the casual arrangement naturally deepens into intimacy and vulnerability
✨ the perfect balance of heat and heart

Despite how much I enjoyed this story (I can’t wait to read about Elodie and Cruz — I’m dying to know their story!), I did have a few hesitations. The wedding drama and some of the family dynamics are pretty wild, and there were moments when I wished Campbell had more space to process everything or push back a little. Plus, I needed to see whether the characters could develop something deeper, which kept me from giving it a full 5 stars. But as a romance? It absolutely delivers. It’s addictive, spicy, heartfelt, and effortlessly bingeable in one sitting.

If you love grumpy cowboys, messy-but-fun drama, small towns with big personalities, and a romance that goes from “bad idea” to “oh no, feelings,” this book is perfect for you.

Walker Rose is a new author for me, but I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her future stories… this whiskey series is already shaping up to be such a treat. 🥃💖

This one landed solidly in the middle for me. While the premise had a lot of potential, the execution felt a bit all over the place. I struggled at times to keep track of the characters and who was who, which pulled me out of the story more than once.

I usually love an age-gap romance, but in this case, something about it just felt… off. The dynamic didn’t fully work for me, and I had a hard time settling into their connection.

That said, there were moments I enjoyed, and I can see how this could work better for readers who don’t mind a more chaotic plot or looser character structure. Overall, not a bad read, just not quite my vibe.

Whiskey Bargain was everything I want in a small-town romance. Walker Rose always writes swoony MMCs, but Durban is my new second fave (I’m loyal to Tenor, okay).

The dynamic between Campbell and Durban hooked me immediately. Their age gap and opposites attract energy give the story tension, but the friends-with-benefits setup adds so much delicious longing. Their chemistry feels lived in rather than forced. I found myself rooting for them long before either of them admitted what was happening.

And the setting… ugh, perfection. Walker Rose’s take on Montana always feels like being in the real place. It’s immersive without overshadowing the romance, the kind of world you want to stay in after the last page.

This story had so much heart, and even with the complicated ex drama, it never felt heavy.

If you love swoony men and satisfying emotional payoff, add this to your TBR. I adored it. 🤎

What to expect:
🥃 Small town romance
🥃 Opposites attract
🥃 Friends with benefits
🥃 Age gap
🥃 Montana setting

Thank you to TAA and Walker Rose for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was my first novel from Walker Rose and I thoroughly enjoyed it! She made a fan of me early on and I was sucked in immediately… I also devoured this in like 24 hours 😂. Walker wrote a quick read that was everything I love about a small town romance novel

I absolutely loved the small town charm that Walker was able to master in this novel! It felt like I was right there with them at home in this lovely quaint little town 😊. All of the characters certainly helped as well lol… she did a great job writing infectious characters (both main and side) whose personality were infectious and bled off of the page.

Durban and Campbell’s story was all encompassing chemistry, the best slow burn and banter that had me kicking my feet… I was on cloud 9 reading this. I loved watching their relationship grow from enemies to friends with benefits to lovers.

Durban was literally everything. I loved his character from the beginning. He just felt so genuine.

Campbell was way too relatable for me 😂. She was messy and chaotic and I saw WAY TOO much of myself in her. But I loved her! She was a hard worker and had a beautiful soul…

Campbell planning her ex’s wedding… when her ex is getting married to her cousin… was such a messy situation… AND I LOVED it 😂. It made the storyline have that extra layer of entertainment and felt unique.

Would I suggest to a friend? Yes! Would I reread? Yes! Would I like a trophy? Yes!!

I DEVOURED this one in less than 24 hours! This is exactly what I mean when I say I want to read a small town romance. The author did such a phenomenal job at bringing these characters and their raw emotions to life.

Campbell was a beautifully messy character in all the best ways. In times when it felt like her life was literally falling apart she rose above all the chaos and made such an amazing example of what a hard working woman is.

Durban was literally THE man. He also was going through emotional turmoil but the way he instantly cared for Campbell and helped her through her troubles made him such a stand up guy and the most delicious book boyfriend. 🤭

This book is full of slow burn, tense chemistry that leaves you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. I truly loved how we got to watch Campbell and Durban’s relationship grow from enemies to friends with benefits to lovers in the span of the story. I am SO excited to see where this series takes us!

Well, what a great small town romance!
I absolutely loved this and the whole vibe of the town and everyone in it.

Durban, ugh that man! Loved his character from start to finish and the chemistry between him and Campbell was perfection!

Campbell is an events planner and currently planning her exs wedding to her cousin (who he cheated on her with) messy!!
Durban steps in to help and the chemistry and banter is just there from the get go!

I loved this and the small town vibe was totally perfect, also the heat and spice was 👌🏽

This is my first book by Walker Rose but definitely won’t be my last! I loved this book!

Campbell is an event planner forced to plan her ex's wedding to the cousin who stabbed her in the back. The solution? A bargain with Durban, the smoky hot cowboy distiller who offers the perfect distraction. 🔥

The relationship growth between these two was so good! The slow burn tension, the spice, the swoon, it's all there. I couldn't stop reading! Durban is THAT MAN 🤎 I cant wait to read more from this author!

Thank you so much for the ARC!

Whiskey Bargain was such a fun, spicy ride, and honestly, I love anything Walker Rose writes, so this new whiskey series is already shaping up to be amazing.

I loved the chaotic setup of planning a wedding for an ex (the audacity!) and the way it pushed the heroine straight into Durban’s grumpy, rugged, distiller arms. Their chemistry was instant, the banter was great, and the heat was perfect, as she always writes it to be.

The whiskey bargain” started as stress relief, but watching it slip into real feelings was exactly the kind of romance goodness I wanted. It’s messy, it’s heartfelt, and it’s so easy to devour in one sitting.

If you love cowboys, small towns, and a good dose of spice, this is perfect! Check out her other books too!

Campbell is in her home town planning her exs wedding to her cousin no less and stressed to the max. Have no fear tho Durban comes to her aid with some great stress relief 😉 😉

Oooo I just loved these two. I truly enjoy Walker Rose writing style. It is emotional, a little bit funny, spicy, and so damn addicting!

4.5 Stars! Yay Cowboys!!! 🤠 💕

After moving back home, Campbell is now the new event planner for her family’s guest ranch. However, things don’t go smooth sailing when the first event she’s set to plan is her ex-finace and ex-bestie’s wedding! Yikes! If that wasn’t bad enough, if she doesn’t do a good job/if the event isn’t successful, her uncle refuses to sign over the ranch. So the stakes are even higher! To help her get through all the tough situations she’s having to go through with planning this event, she’s helped by Durban, a former cowboy of her dad. And he helps her in more ways than one. 😏 Meanwhile, Durban finds himself single again following the ending of his 4-year long distance relationship.

This was such a fun and entertaining read. I really enjoyed soo much about it! Their initial “whiskey bargain” - a deal that was supposed to be nothing more than no-strings, stress relief - changes and evolves into such a beautiful relationship and bond. Their chemistry really jumped out of the page. Also, I loved how even though these two are opposites, they also had certain things that they both could relate to; most notably, both of their previous relationships ending in betrayal. It really made me not only root for them to get their happy ending, but also it made their initial connection even more believable. The author, Walker Rose, really did a great job of striking the right balance of tension, spiciness, banter and emotional payoff. This is my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last!

If you’re in the mood for a small-town, western, age-gap romance, definitely add this to your list! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!

Narrated in duet by Marissa Clay and Will Speare. Clay was wonderful as Campbell. And Speare was also wonderful portraying the gruff and grumpy Durban. They both aided in bringing this story to life!

Thanks to the author, Walker Rose, and the team at Ear Candy Promos for providing me with an advanced audio review copy of this book. All opinions provided in this review are entirely my own.

🎧ALC REVIEW🎧

There is so much about this story that I loved that I’m finding it difficult to begin my review! Like where do I even start?! Do I start with how organic the storyline fell into place? Do I start with how “fitting” it was that both MCs have the same(ish) histories with their exes, which made their connection seem kind of kismet? Do I start with how absurdly humorous all the secondary characters made this story? The extended family shenanigans? The small-town vibe? The heat? OOOOOOOH, THE HEAT?! *fans self*

This experience was a new-to-me trifecta. I’d never read anything by Walker Rose before, nor had I ever listened to Marissa Clay or Will Speare. I love discovering new talent and this experience did not disappoint!

I really like Walker Rose’s style! I used my KU subscription to read Whiskey Cowboy once the ALC of this title landed in my library and I was so excited after I finished reading it that I jumped straight into the ALC of Whiskey Bargain immediately. And by immediately, I mean 10:07 pm! LOL

This story hit all the right spots in my heart. It was fun and it was captivating. It was sexy and flirty and super-hot at times! #winning Durban & Campbell had a dynamic that fit their storyline perfectly. Two people with an extraordinary sexual spark, perfect for a friends with benefits bargain, that took that spark and developed it into an emotional bond. It was truly well written. I loved it so much that my heart soared! And that ending … STOP IT! #perfection

Let’s talk 🎙️DUET narration🎙️… *throws confetti*

🎧As I mentioned earlier, both narrators were new to me, so I was really blind on this one! Will Speare took some getting used to but not long enough to be a negative but what stands out for him is his voice. Listen, Durban (MMC) has a tendency to growl. YES, growl. You ladies know what I’m saying, right? #IYKYK Well, Will nailed his part in spades!*fans self* Perfect casting! Marissa Clay was a delight from the very beginning. This casting could not have been better! I mean even with my “adjustment period” to Will, I still give this performance a booming 👏👏round of applause👏👏!

I love Campbell and Durban! Their story is messy, chaotic, and so hard to put down. In a small town I expect to hear about a story like theirs. Wedding planner who is planning the wedding of her ex, and her cousin who stole him.

Durban is my latest book boyfriend! Cowboy turned distiller, protector of Campbell, and grump extraordinaire. At first, I was not sure if it was like or annoyance that Durban feels for Campbell. He is the clam to her hurricane. As the proposal of the wedding plan unfolds, it is Campbell who is the calm, and Durbin the storm. Then there is the drama!

I love the slow burn, the friends to more, and the small town setting that is so inviting. The banter is fun, and the personality of the town is unmatched, with its characters, who I want to meet again soon.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

That was a fun quick easy read. I always love me a good whiskey distiller story. There was whiskey, and cowboys, horses, and belles. I can't think of one thing I didn't like about this book.
Campbell may seem like an irresponsible and forgetful person, but there's more to her than that. She's been working hard as an events coordinator and trying to make a name for herself. But will her big break break her, when she's been asked by her ex to plan his wedding on her family ranch?
Durban never took his brother's sister-in-law seriously. She only thinks of herself and likes to get wasted, like now, completely drunk and unaware of the dangers lurking about at the bar. Guess Durban has to look out for her and take her home to get better. That's what his brother would want him to do of course.
Campbell and Durban sound like an unlikely pair but their chemistry is golden. Durban has his own battles he's dealing with being newly single from a long distance relationship and trying to break through in his roll at the distillery. He has to help Campbell out with most of the events leading up to the wedding of nightmares. How will Durban help Campbell get through this?
I usually don't like a book where the ex's seem to win, but this book had some delicious drama that made me want to know how they'll get their payback. All the characters had a good dynamic with each other and I liked the sense of community/family. Campbell was relatable in that she does make mistakes and is not perfect but she keeps trying. I'm glad to many people were rallying behind her through this ordeal. Durban was fun also, a great distraction for her, and the way they effortlessly came together was comforting. The spice was nice and hot also.
If you want some small town romance with a generous pour of whiskey and a dash of horses, Whiskey Bargain is the book for you.

Whiskey Bargain was a great small town romance that had all the necessary elements to keep me hooked. I mean having to plan a wedding for your ex who is marrying your cousin?! Yeah that’s going to be a lot of drama and it definitely takes a certain type of person to be able to go through with that.

Campbell was just that girl. She could have thrown up a middle finger and left, but instead she lets her family talk her into planning the wedding. And she was excellent at her job. Everything was organized, she was somehow able to keep her mouth shut, and she stayed in the background as much as possible.

And then Durban! He was going to be there for her however she needed it, even if it was just a leg in a closet. Durban was intense but that guy was loyal. I loved his interactions with the groom, bride, and their families. His curtness was hilarious.

I didn’t really care for his misconceptions of Campbell at first. She was a little scatterbrained and chaotic, but I felt like he was really harsh with her. And then they were relieving stress together and it felt like their relationship lacked a certain depth. Durban saw that his first impressions of her were wrong, and Campbell had some personal growth, but I wish there was just more interactions shown besides them hooking up.

Even so, the banter was great and the romance in general was fun to read. Definitely a fun, bingeable read if you like a grumpy cowboy and some chaos.

Thank you Walker Rose for the ARC!

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: This one had such a unique story line that I was hooked right from the beginning! Campbell is an event planner & her worst nightmare comes true when she is asked by her family to coordinate her ex-boyfriend’s wedding to her cousin….. who he cheated on her with! Campbell decides the best revenge is to act as though this doesn’t bother her at all. She wants to prove to her ex that she is better off without him. While planning the wedding, Campbell has to work closely with Durban. Durban is now part owner of his families distilling company. The married couple-to-be wants Durban’s company to be in charge of all the alcohol at the wedding. This means that Durban & Campbell end up working alongside each other. Durban suggests to Campbell that they have a “friends with benefits” situation to relieve some stress. This works for a little bit till they both become so completely infatuated with each other that the line starts blurring. I loved how naturally their relationship progressed from physical to so much more. I loved Durban’s protective side over Campbell & he has some seriously swoony moments throughout. I can’t wait to continue to read the rest of this series!

‘A reminder of what we really are. Nothing but a wedding and a whiskey bargain.’

Oh how I loved Durban and Campbell! I haven’t read anything else by Walker Rose except for the novella that starts this series- Whiskey Cowboy, which I’d recommend! - so must admit I was a little bit lost at times with the side characters and others that were mentioned, but I imagine if you have read her Bourbon series you’ll be delighted to see old characters pop back up in this one. It definitely made me want to go and pick that series up.

Campbell is an events planner and forced to plan the wedding of her cheating ex and his bride to be- Campbell’s cousin who he cheated on her with. These are villains you immediately hate and I massively respected how she dealt with them throughout the story. When Durban offers to help her get through the wedding, they make a deal, but it’s not long before feelings start to creep in.

The chemistry between Durban and Campbell is off the charts, but their connection is much deeper. The way he cares for her and is there whenever she needs him is beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and hope we see lots more of them in the rest of the series!

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!

This book was so so good! I fell in love with Durban and Campbell and their relationship together. Durban’s family and Campbell’s brothers were a perfect addition to the story. I really enjoyed the plot line because who doesn’t love a smoldering hot cowboy?!

Durban’s confident, full of sinfully delicious thoughts, and so absolutely charming. From the beginning, I knew he was a good guy when he took care of Campbell. He is not afraid to show his feelings towards Campbell and loves the hell out of her. I could not begin to say how much I admired how caring and supportive he is of Campbell and her dreams. He always had her back no matter what. Their relationship had the right amount of everything - spice, love, and loyalty.

Campbell is such a strong and independent woman. She fights her way to everything that she deserves and more. Her sharp witted tongue was one of my favorite things because she pushed like no other with Durban even though it fazed him none. Her and Durban had a spark from the very first moment in the bar that refused to die out or dim. Their spicy moments together were intense and so hot! When I say a man can worship, you better meet Durban. Their love was strong, powerful, and full of passion.

Welcome to Huckleberry Springs, Montana!! I was so excited for book one in the new Foster House series! I absolutely loved Campbell and Durban - they have this amazing chemistry that sizzled as the tension between them continued to build. I also loved their banter - right from the start you know you’ll be rooting for there two!

Campbell is back in town and working as an event planner at her family’s ranch…and her first job is to plan the wedding for her cousin and her cheating ex - yeah it’s as bad as it sounds, and yes we hate them. Durban steps in to help…and help he does 😉

Durban is a little brooding and on the quieter side and so observant - especially when it comes to Campbell. He’s protective and caring. They have this connection that feels authentic and organic and it was so fun to see them come together.

I definitely felt for Campbell - she was in a tough spot and didn’t let it ruin her…and let’s be honest, Durban is one hell of a catch!!!!

Durban Hennessy has officially claimed the top spot in Walker Rose’s world of fictional men…and I honestly didn’t think anyone could ever beat Myles!!

His steady, quiet reassurance with Campbell was absolutely gorgeous. Their chemistry sparks from page one, but the way it grow , soft, certain, inevitable- felt like pure magic.

Campbell is dealing with such a cruel blow, and Durban stepping in, showing up, and helping in every way he can just sets him apart. Their “agreement” never stood a chance…there was only ever going to be one ending for these two: a beautiful, hard-won HEA.

And that very public grand gesture? I’m going to be dreaming about it forever. It was exactly what their story needed.

I’ve loved every single one of Walker’s books, but this series is becoming a new favourite. She has this incredible way of pulling you right into the heart of the story, and I cannot wait for what comes next.

Thank you to the author & team for allowing me the opportunity to read this arc - I am so grateful💕

I straight devoured this! It’s completely binge worthy short cowboy romance. I would give a 3.5 ⭐️ rounding up

Our MMC and FMC Durban & Campbell. We have a grumpy older cowboy and the younger event planner and Hawthorne daughter. These two have a little dislike for each other but it’s bc they always love give each other shit and have false thought of who they are.

She's planning a wedding having to plan her Her exes wedding who is her cousin. Durban is fresh off a relationship that was going nowhere. So a bargain is made when our FMC needs a geo managing some of her stress.

Yes this gets sexy and fun but we also get character development and get to see these two grow and learn about each other creating a relationship they both feel supported, heard, seen , and want to protect.

Now I will say at first I felt a little lost reading this since it said book 1. However there is a little novella before this Whiskey Cowboy which I felt would have helped me… I’m not sure I haven’t read any books by this author until this arc.

Whiskey Bargain” by Walker Rose completely wrecked me in the very best, yeehaw-and-sob-into-your-shirt kind of way. I went in expecting some spicy cowboy chaos and came out wanting to carve Campbell + Durban into a damn tree like a lovesick teenager.

First of all—Campbell planning her cheating ex’s wedding to her cousin??? Girl, I was feral before the first chapter was over. And then in stomps Durban Hennessy, grumpy distiller, rugged cowboy, emotionally constipated king of “I don’t do drama”… who immediately proves himself a liar when he scoops her off the floor (and out of her own personal meltdown) like some kind of brooding, whiskey-scented guardian angel. I swear my heart did somersaults.

And that store room scene? THE PRESSURE WAS RELIEVED ALRIGHT. I had to set my Kindle down and fan myself like I was having a Victorian fainting episode.

The whole “let’s just help each other out, totally casual, nothing to see here” bargain had me screaming because everyone—EVERYONE except them—knew they were falling hard. The hookups turning into sleepovers? The pillow talk??? The soft moments where his gruff edges melted around her? STOP. I am unwell. Completely undone.

Their chemistry is gasoline. Their banter is perfection. Their tenderness is lethal.
Campbell and Durban are GOALS. Couple of the year. Couple of my HEART.

This book gave me small-town drama, spice hotter than a distillery furnace, emotional healing, messy vulnerability, and a hero who will literally hold your hair back while you puke on his boots and STILL think you’re worth the world.

Walker Rose, I salute you. I am obsessed. I need more. I need a reread. I need the whole Huckleberry Springs universe injected directly into my veins.

Unpolished? Absolutely.
Gushing? To the point of embarrassment.
Five stars? SHOULD BE TEN.

Wow!! What a story!!! Campbell moves home after her boyfriend of many years dumps her. Her ex is now marrying her cousin and best friend and she is tasked with planning their wedding at her family’s ranch. She is not happy about it. She talks about her dilemma with Durban after he rescued her when she gets drunk. Durban realizes that he has misjudged Campbell and he offers to assist her during her moments of stress. They end up in a friends with benefits situation that grows to more. Both of them are afraid to be honest about their feelings because both of them have been hurt before.

This is a beautiful story and I absolutely loved it. Durban and Campbell were just perfect together. They complimented each other and listened to each other. They laughed and had fun together. I couldn’t put this book down. I give it 5 gloriously hot stars.

First of all, huge thank you to The Author Agency and Walker Rose for the ARC, I’m so grateful I got to read this early!

I’m definitely in my cowboy era 🤠 yeehaw, bitches. Durban has officially earned a spot on the “save a horse, ride a cowboy” list. That man knows exactly how to literally sweep a girl off her feet (iykyk 🥹🫣).

I loved every second of this book. Campbell having to plan the wedding for her ex and her niece? Talk about being the bigger person , I could never 🙃. Luckily for her (and us), that wild situation leads her straight into Durban’s bed, and honestly… those two are absolutely meant to be.

If you’re into cowboys, ex-drama, and a romance that gives you all the warm, messy, addictive feels, put this one on your TBR ASAP. 🤠💛

I started my love for all things Walker Rose when I read the prequel to this series, Whiskey Cowboy. This book Whiskey Bargain continues the Foster House series and let me just say, Durban is my new favorite.

He is quiet and observant. He makes it his mission to show others including Campbell just how strong she is. Everyone needs a Durban in their corner.
The way that Campbell handles planning a wedding to her cheating ex? I mean she is a strong soul to be sure. She finds herself and real love through her pact with Durban.

I really love the fake dating trope. I mean you KNOW they are going to develop feelings but how they do it is always a fun ride. This one is no exception!! I am loving this series and have already pre ordered the audio. I can’t wait to hear Durban.

This was a quite the storyline. Very different from any other cowboy romance I have read and I really enjoyed it. I could never imagine myself having to plan a wedding for my cousin to my ex-boyfriend. F’ those bitches! I give Campbell props on being the bigger person because again, I could never. But the fun doesn’t stop there because we have some hot tension with a certain cowboy. Durban & Campbell give us quite the ride You want spicy hot chemistry & great banter. Well you got it! From enemies to friends to friends with benefits, these two may have started as a distraction for one another. But what happens when the lines begin to blur. This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Thank you Walker Rose & The Author Agency for the arc.

Whiskey Bargain

Talk about an awesome second chance at romance story. The event coordinator position Campbell has now she is in charge of having to do the unthinkable, for someone who betrayed her. She has to work with her sisters brother in law, who she has alway been at odds with, but finds a friend in him. This story becomes a very interesting turn of events for both of them, dealing with people who feel they are above them in financial matters and social matters. As their story progresses they become increasingly aware of their own personal connection, feelings and other things don’t matter as much. Beautifully written story, loved it.

A steamy bargain with a cowboy with a mustache to relieve some of the tension? Sign me up!

When she is forced to plan the wedding of her ex-boyfriend with her cousin, Campbell gets some help from big broody cowboy Durban in relieving some of the stress that comes from it.
But whiskey hookups with no strings turn in to feelings because who could resist the sweet cowboy with the mustache.

This was my first Walker rose book but I have put her previous series to the tbr as well because I need more of this family. I loved the characters and writing style and the spice was spicy.

Whiskey Bargain by Walker Rose is the first full-length novel in the Foster House series. After losing her job, Campbell returns home only to land the role of event planner for her cousin’s wedding—unfortunately to her own ex-boyfriend. Durban quickly takes it upon himself to shield her from the chaos and stress, no matter what it takes.

I absolutely loved this book. Walker Rose blends heartfelt storytelling with just the right amount of spice, and I was hooked on the characters from the very beginning. Campbell and Durban’s chemistry is spot-on, and their relationship feels both fun and deeply genuine. The story is perfectly paced, wrapped up beautifully, and the epilogue was such a rewarding little gift. I’m already excited for the next installment in the series!
