Scott Kelby, author of "The Digital Photography Book, Volume 1" (the world's best-selling digital photography book of all time), is back with yet another follow-up with an entirely new book that picks up right where he left off with "Volume 3." It's even more of that "Ah ha, so that' s how they do it," straight-to-the-point, skip-the-techno-jargon stuff people can really use today to make their shots even better. This book truly has a brilliant premise, and here's how Scott describes it: "If you and I were out on a shoot and you asked me, 'Hey Scott, I want the light for this portrait to look really soft and flattering. How far back should I put this softbox?' I wouldn't give you a lecture about lighting ratios, or flash modifiers. In real life, I'd just turn to you and say, 'Move it in as close to your subject as you possibly can, without it actually showing up in the shot.' Well, that's what this book is all about: you and I out shooting where I answer questions, give you advice, and share the secrets I've learned, just like I would with a friend--without all the technical explanations and techie photo speak." "The Digital Photography Book, Volume 4" follows in the footsteps of the wildly successful previous volumes, giving photographers nearly two hundred more closely guarded photographic "tricks of the trade" to get them shooting dramatically better-looking, sharper, more colorful, more professional-looking photos with their digital camera every time they press the shutter button.

Another great book on photography by Scott Kelby. This book is written in the same way that the other 3 books in the series are. They are tips from Kelby on taking photos. The idea is it would be like standing beside him and Scott giving you tips on how to take a photo. Although I knew a lot of the tips in the book, I always pick up something from them. This book continues from where the previous book, Volume 3 (now part 3) left off. He includes some tips on HDR and Post Processing. Again the final chapter is recipes for making a shot. Although I am a fairly accomplished photographer I re read all of these books about once a year. Would recommend to any one interested in taking better photos.
Semuanya bermanfaat. Salut dan hormat saya pada Master Scott Kelby, senang sekali membaca buku beliau :) Salam jepret!
I just read this book in 2024, a book published in 2012. This book has plenty of tips for digital photographers that are useful, even for very experienced amateur photographers, with a caveat: because the digital camera technology has improved so rapidly, much of the camera-specific tips are out of date. The latest DSLRs and mirrorless cameras now have vastly improved capabilities and the software that runs those cameras is more robust, so the menus are very different. But this book offers enough general, basic photography information that’s still relevant. While digital photography technology embedded in cameras and other gear has improved, the basics of good photography haven’t changed. Ph9tographers still need to find good subjects in good light, compose images for maximum impact, use the correct settings to get good exposures, etc. This book provides enough tips about the basics along with more advanced tips, to be valuable. Find a used copy—it will be cheap—and use it to improve your photography.
Easy read with practical information. urls: http://kelbytraining.com/books/digpho... http://kelbytraining.com/books/vol4gear http://photoshopuser.com/ www.photoshopuser.com/NAPP Plan to try nikon d3s Plan to try shooting at 4000 iso for nighttime or indoor sporting event. For landscapes don't need fast lense. Use tripod and try shooting at f/16 or f/22 setting. For silky water effect when shooting waterfalls or steams try setting f-stop to f/22 (slows down shutter speed) (i.e the slower the shutter speed the silkier the water)
Try telephoto lens. Take photos at dawn or dusk for different effects.
Scott Kelby, author of The Digital Photography Book (the best-selling digital photography book of all time), is back with another follow-up to his smash best-seller, with an entirely new book that picks up right where volume 3 left off. This is a great book that completes the previous three books and it gives out many informations and answer that u might have left after reading the first 3 volumes. It touches HDR and Video too with basic knowledges which can be intresting to know.
If you're looking for straightforward easy to understand instruction, this series is for you. One offputing aspect of this series is it reads like a sales manual. Most of what is described costs money. Kelby is a gifted educator.
While all of the books in this series have great tips, they get less awesome with each new volume. While I return to the first one as a regular reference, I have no need to keep the sequels readily available.
I enjoy these Scott Kelby digital photography books. I think I would need to have a studio setup to still be getting as much out of them as I did from Volume 1, but I just like his style.
This series contains enough technical tips that makes it worthwhile to read. I generally skip the sarcastic leading page of each chapter that Mr. Kelby likes to add to lighten the mood.
