A succubus. A siren. Two bargains that entwine their fates.
For Bliss, a succubus who hates casual sex, meeting her bondmate should mean an end to her days of feeling tired and powerless. But when her bond activation ceremony takes an unexpected turn, Bliss must face the reality that perhaps she doesn’t have a bondmate after all. Desperate, Bliss strikes a deal with a stranger claiming he can not only give her a mate, but also turn her into whatever type of fae she wants. Everything she’s ever wanted in exchange for stealing from an unsuspecting fae?
Perfect.
The only problem?
The person she’s stealing from is the anonymous frontman for her favorite band.
Pisces has spent the last six years trying to atone for his past and coming to terms with a second set of teeth and his cravings for flesh. His goals are pretty straight forward. Do good deeds, and fulfill his end of a bargain that will absolve his sins. Maybe then he can finally forgive himself. Unfortunately, the stars seem to have other plans. Amidst the growing success of his band and some fans turning up dead at a metal music festival, Pisces finds his focus increasingly stolen by the alluring ribbon-wearing band manager he can’t seem to avoid.
Bliss and Pisces are forced to navigate between treachery and trust before their pasts come back to bite them. But are the stars in control of their destinies or is something much more wicked at play?
A Taste of Bliss is book one in the Born and Made series. This paranormal romance series has supernatural creatures, found family, and a world you’ll want to sink your teeth into. Perfect for fans of romantasy, fated mates, slow burns, and masked men.
Saoirse Brey is a fantasy romance author living in the Pacific Northwest with her family and dog. When she’s not writing, she’s probably knitting. She also loves music and books. A Taste of Bliss will be her first published work and she’s hard at work on book two in the Born and Made series.
First, how great is that cover! A succubus who hates casual sex? Siren frontman with secret teeth and a past he’s trying to outrun? A bargain that entangles fate, identity, and a very ill-timed crush on your favorite musician? Okay, I'll bite! (If I don't, Pisces will.) Bliss is a succubus on the brink of magical burnout when her bond activation ceremony goes sideways. With no bondmate in sight, she makes a desperate deal with a stranger who promises her everything she’s ever wanted, including the chance to change the type of fae she is, in exchange for stealing from a mystery fae. Of course, the “mystery fae” turns out to be Pisces, the masked, magnetic frontman of her favorite band, who is juggling rising fame, dark cravings, and a bargain of his own. What I loved most here was the worldbuilding. Brey has built a fae universe full of masks, bargains, liminal hunger, and a band dynamic that reads like paranormal found family. Pisces is kind of a jerk; Bliss is not much fun. But I liked the supernatural overlay to modern life. But fair warning: this ends on a cliffhanger, and I didn’t love that. There are also threads that feel gestural rather than fully developed, as if they’re saving a lot for book two. And while it’s marketed as a paranormal romance, it felt more like paranormal fantasy with some sex. The burn is slooooow, which isn’t my personal preference, though series readers may love the anticipation. Still, as a step outside my usual reading lane, this was a stylish, inventive romp through a world full of sex, death, and rock and roll. Read early; opinions are my own.
Sleep Token inspired paranormal romance. My new favorite niche.
I absolutely adored this book from beginning to end. It was an easy read that kept me hooked the entire time. It has an air of lightheartedness to it that made it fun to read.
Bliss, the FMC is a succubus who does not enjoy casual sex or hookups which is unfortunate… considering that’s her life force. When she turns 28 and participates in the bond ceremony to activate her mating bond, things go awry. Shortly after her ceremony, she is approached by a mysterious wraith with a bargain. He will fix her mating bond if she steals something from Wrath, the lead singer of Voracious Maw.
Our MMC, Pisces is a siren. As a made fae, he is not granted the luxury of a mating bond, which is something he has always been jealous of. Pisces, also known as Wrath, is the lead singer for masked metal band, Voracious Maw. Using his music to express his pain and emotions, he will do whatever he must to be connected with his love.
Truly, I loved this book. I may also be slightly biased as Sleep Token is my favorite band, but I digress. The banter & the story line were just such a good time, and there’s even a little murder mystery going on too.
You have: - Classism (born fae vs made fae) - shifters, sirens, wraiths, succubi, vampires & more -banter -slow burn -masked men (ST inspired band and others)
The ending did hurt my feelings though, so book two would be great to have soon 😌
I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of the author’s debut novel, and wow did she came out with a bang!
For an urban fantasy, this book brings so many fresh and unique elements to the table. The vivid world-building drops you right into the action. The magic system, especially the made-fae vs. born-fae dynamic, felt original and well-developed. A succubus who doesn’t enjoy casual sex was such an intriguing twist. I loved the grunge/metal band scene woven throughout, it gives the story a distinctive edge.
And can we talk about finally having characters in their late twenties instead of the standard 19–20-year-old FMC? Thank you! The found-family vibes absolutely made this book for me. The relationships, the banter, they were all standout elements. The spice level was just right, too. You don’t wait long for the heat, but it never overshadows the plot. And that scene with the tongue 😅
What really surprised me was how relatable so many parts of this story felt, something you don’t often find in fantasy. I’m already counting down to book two to see what adventures Bliss and the crew dive into next. And I need to know what’s going to happen with Bliss and Pisces!
4.5 rounded up. THAT ENDING!!!!! Saorise, that was diabolical. I need book 2 immediately. I loved the references to a certain band (iykyk). I loved the subtle ways that intimacy was shared-- okay, not really subtle but like.....the little actions that were done that were quietly sexy, if that makes any sense. I really felt for Pisces and Bliss and I loveeeeeeeeee the representation for toxic relationships, mental health struggles, etc.
Trigger warning for self harm (not on page; just talked about having happened in the past), and abusive relationships.
the world building in this was nuts and the story itself felt like something i haven’t read before, so much going on and a lot to think about
Bliss is is not how other people expect her to be as a succubus and i find it endearing but at times it was annoying because she wasn’t helping herself in some ways
Pisces was a siren & he was made not born and i kinda wanted more of his story we got bits and pieces throughout it felt like it went by so fast
i loved it all, definitely a wild ride and parts i didn’t see coming, the ending made me angry but excited for the second book
This book was excellent for a debut novel but it just went on for way too long and it was slightly confusing at times. There were a few too many flashbacks and it felt like there was quite a lot going on, however it did then tie up in the end which I enjoyed!
Bliss was a bit of a wet lettuce though, like there was 0 character development, she was just annoying. Pisces was also a bit of a dick, very judgy, especially of Bliss when he didn’t even know her.
Overall, I didn’t enjoy the fact she was a “succubus” and fed from sex because then it took away from the actual spicy scenes. And don’t get me started on the bit where she was unconscious/dying … not a fan

Thank you to Saoirse Brey and Sapphirine Publishing for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
Listen. I thought I was walking into a cute little romance with maybe a sprinkle of magic. I absolutely did not expect a full-blown paranormal rock band circus starring vampires, fae, and more backstage chaos than a reality show. And let me tell you, I was DELIGHTED.
The characters? Sweet, funny, warm, and instantly likeable. The vibe? Smooth, playful, low-heat but high-chemistry. The writing? Way too good for a debut, to the point where I had to double-check that this was actually her first published book and not some witchcraft.
And then.. the ending. That brutal, unapologetic cliffhanger that made me sit up like some Victorian man hearing scandalous news. Saoirse really said: “You like these characters? You’re attached? Lovely. Now suffer until book two.”
I’m hooked. Utterly charmed. Bring me the sequel and make it hurt.
There’s so much immersive world building that the book takes a little to get going, but I was into it. We’ve got the basics of the various magical creatures and there’s a few enhancements that make things interesting and new.
The Born vs Made fae was a clear prejudice/racism allegory that was on the nose, but kinda worked in context and added to the classism aspect as well. There also a hierarchy between born fae as well ie. being a succubus has stigma for obvious reasons. It also helped with the domestic abuse throughline that permeated Bliss’ character and storyline.
Never knew I was into MASKED MEN! I loved the metal band/music festival aspect to the story. It helped with the mysterious vibes/murder mystery subplot of the story. I really need character art for the band!
I loved a fated mates tale that isn’t an easy road and it’s not just between the main couple. I appreciated the rules surrounding it and it isn’t always insta love. If you aren’t ready for your mate what are you supposed to do?
Benny: vampire I need a book about him.
Simon is my favourite character. He’s the best human surrounded by magical creatures and is kinda out of his depth, but understanding and chill. I need him to thrive, survive and maybe hook up with Reese or honestly even Benny/Shaun. He vibes with everyone.
My only real issue with the book were the names: Pieces (lol) in the band is called Wrath and there’s also a wraith. Before the reveal he’s called that and still talking to the wraith so it was a little hard to differentiate what’s going on.
Usually my line is cannibalism, but this “magical cannibalism (lol)” was actually a lot of fun to read about and at times VERY homo/erotic!
I fully explained the plot of this book to my sister and she was ENGROSSED. That ending!!! I need book 2 now! Thank you NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy.
Publication Date: November 21 2025
‘I’m a succubus, after all. I’d die with sex, and la the y it’s like I’ve been walking around with a cold that just won’t go away. But the idea of booking up with guys I have no feelings for? I can’t bring myself to do it unless absolutely have to.’
‘My eyes slide down her arm to her wrist, where Reese’s skin forms the kindred rune - a series of intertwining swirls that form a circle, which allows a human to move freely between the human domain and the fae districts, and provides a measure of protection against certain fae magic, like compulsion.’
‘Dericia Ravenmore - Reese - has been my best friend since I can remember. Her fae parents, who lived next-door to mine, adopted her just after she was born to humans. We grew up together… we’ve been joined at the hip, most of our lives, until about three years ago’
‘Once my bond is activated… to travel for my starmoon - a little vacation fae go on and hope the stars will lead them to their make. It’s pretty customary for fae to do this, the results are mixed. The stars aren’t to be rushed when they don’t want to be.’
‘I’m not at all surprised Amelia sent me as soon as I walked in. She’s one of the most powerful fae I’ve ever met. We’re opposites in that way. She was born to be a succubus, whereas I’m pretty sure the stars made a mistake when I was born.’
“We should find you a guy tonight, then.” “Please, no. I don’t do one-night stands.” “Bliss, you’re a succubus, a single one. You have to be open to one-night stands. For your health. Plus, they’re sexy as hell.”
‘… though the warning all Born fae have been given echoes in my head. We’re taught not to interact with Made fae if we can help it. They don’t have our morals and many kill without remorse and turn humans against their will.’
‘But dying due to power fading that low is an excruciating pain. In fact, death by power outage isn’t a very successful suicide method for fae. We usually fall into a primal energy and end up eking out what we need. It becomes no longer our choice, but the choice of our magic.’
‘It’s hard knowing my friends will find soulmates and get to grilled with them, while my ageing has already started to slow. I’ll look thirty for the rest of my years, but I trade it for a heartbeat for a mate. ‘
‘My emotions always tend to get the better of me. When I’m angry, it’s Evan who allows me to let it out the best. When I’m introspective, Shaun is the one that can read my mind and help me make sense of what I’m experiencing. But when I’m in anguish, Benny is the one that grounds me. I would be dead without them.’
“I think that’s what I’m afraid of. If I process these emotions, then they’re gone. I could heal and move on. And I don’t deserve that.”
“Elemental fae have ties to all the elements and usually specialize in just one. They could also heal other people. Very powerful and very common.”
‘He’s not just any wraith. He’s a song wraith, one of the strongest and rarest known to fae kind.’
‘Hellhounds are created by lesser wraiths, considerably less powerful than a song wraith or a dream wraith, but still nasty things.’
I would like to thank NetGalley and Saoirse Brey for providing me with an ARC of this book.
I need to start by saying that this is the author's debut novel. Does it read like a debut novel? Yes, but not in a bad way. I found the plot very intriguing and unique.
As the story begins, we are drawn in through the POVs of Bliss and Pisces (I'm not a fan of his name, but that's totally subjective).
Bliss is our female main character (FMC) and she’s a succubis. Yes, you read that right. She needs to have sex to recharge her powers. The fun fact? She hates casual sex, and in a world where bonded mates exist, she’s afraid that she won't meet her match. Meanwhile, Pisces is a siren. He is not a natural-born fae; he is a made fae. As the name suggests, this means that someone turned him during his lifetime. He had a rough time growing up, and as the story progresses, you can empathise with him more and more.
There are other characters around our two main characters, such as Amelia, Dericia, Simon, Teaser and Evan. Expect lots of dialogue and different opinions on facts and events. But what happens in this book? Bliss and Pisces end up working together. My favourite thing about this story is its setting: a metal band, bars and music. It's a breath of fresh air and different from a lot of what's going on lately. The two of them are different but so well matched. She's fierce and insecure while he's haunted and ready to atone for what life's gave him.
I won't say anything else about the plot because I want to give you the opportunity to discover how the two characters evolve and develop their chemistry. I'd like to say that my final rating for this book is 3.2 stars. I enjoyed reading it, but sometimes I felt a bit sleepy, especially in the first chapters. This is not a criticism of the author though. I think she did a very good job, especially as it is her first book. I would suggest simplifying some of the descriptions and cutting some of the information, either now or later. I think she’ll become a fan favourite in the future.
Will I read the second book in the series? Definitely! Who is the perfect reader for this book? Someone who loves a slow burn and a supernatural setting (as there are a lot of magical creatures), and who has a soft spot for metal bands!
Loved it!! I don’t usually write book reviews but received an ARC in exchange for an honest one so here we go!
It’s been a while since I felt fangirly about a book. I’ve been sorta forcing myself to read lately but I just kept taking this one out at lunch, on the bus, when I really should have been sleeping etc etc (you know the drill lmao) because I just really wanted to hang out with the characters. Speaking of characters, I loved pretty much all of them (except for the villains) and the found family vibes within the bands really hit the spot 👌👌👌 I also loved how most were in at least their late twenties so 👏 damn 👏 much👏!! I’ve been saying this forever but we need to take the fun and exciting plots and vibes of YA into adult fiction waaaay more and that’s exactly what this does!!
Anyway I’ll try to break it down a bit.
What I enjoyed: • the found family/character dynamics within and between the bands ❤️ • the metalcore vibes!!! it felt very well researched and may or may not have gotten me into some new music 👀 • Bliss’ internal (and external) conflict about being a succubus • getting to see so many different types of fae • I genuinely didn’t predict how the plot was gonna go, it really kept me hooked • succubus powers I didn’t expect 👀 • the on-page spice was great and all very plot relevant
What I didn’t enjoy so much: • be warned, the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, and I’d be mad if I didn’t know it was a series. you’ll like it if you’re into proper slow burns I reckon, because the characters are really gonna have to work for this relationship!! • I would have liked more worldbuilding bc there are SO many different types of fae to explain the powers for but I’m hoping that more gets revealed as the series goes on
Anyway, 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 gonna be listening to a lot of sleep token to tide me over while I wait for the next one!!
I really enjoyed the fae aspect of this world - it is so refreshing and unique in comparison to what gets repeated in fae romantasy.
The build up in the start took a little bit to get into and I struggled somewhat to keep up with some aspects of show and tell re the world-building, but as an OG paranormal romance reader - I ATE UP A Taste of Bliss (puns always intended).
Once alternating POVs were more frequent, I could not stop myself from reading this in one go - I literally stayed up until 4am to finish this book. The more interactions there were between Bliss and Pisces, the more I wanted to read - tbh my fave scene may just be the slide 🛝 (don’t ask me why, maybe I was just desperate by that point LOL)
While some interactions seemed hot and cold between the two of them, their internalized thoughts (and plot) helped to clear those up a bit. Also their attraction to each other was OBVIOUS 😏
While I’ve never been the greatest fan of a flashback as I find they tend to take me out of the story a bit, Saoirse did a great job at slotting these in to provide relevant backstory and plot points - I do kind of wish some of these were traded for more scenes with Blisces 😅
Another thing I found so… creepy in a good way, was how she wrote certain characters and their actions - my skin was literally crawling every time I had to read about a certain someone. But no spoilers because they deserved what they got 👀
Overall I really enjoyed reading this for the refreshing take on a fae world and I absolutely need the next book asap because what was that ending?! (Also I have theories 😅)
Okay… this was SUCH a fun and chaotic little paranormal treat. A Taste of Bliss throws you head-first into a world of succubi, sirens, bargains, and fae politics, but with a romantasy twist that feels fresh and seriously addictive.
Bliss is a succubus who hates casual sex (, and the moment her bond activation ceremony goes sideways, her entire life spirals. Suddenly she’s forced to face the possibility that she doesn’t even have a destined mate. Enter a mysterious stranger who promises he can give her everything she wants… for a price. And obviously, that price comes with strings.
Then there’s Pisces: the masked, guilt-ridden frontman of her favorite band, running from a past coated in blood and remorse. I LOVED his character. Soft, haunted, morally gray, AND with second teeth?? Say less.
Their dynamic is so good!!
You get: ✨ fated mates ✨ slow burn tension ✨ found family band vibes ✨ supernatural danger ✨ masked, mysterious MMC ✨ a heroine reclaiming her agency
The chemistry? So good. Legit 10/10 The supernatural worldbuilding? Surprisingly rich for a shorter book. The pacing? Fast but in that bingeable, “one more chapter” way.
My only wish was for a little more emotional depth in a few places, but overall? If you want something spicy, paranormal, and perfect for late-night reading, this delivers exactly what it promises.
A Taste of Bliss, Saoirse Brey's debut novel, follows Bliss and Pisces as they start to unweave the ties that bond them, and a string of magical deaths following them. Set in magical Seattle, with a backdrop of heavy metal bars and music festivals, the two are increasingly drawn to each other over and over again. When bodies start showing up at gigs, and Bliss' abusive ex boyfriend makes a reappearance, Bliss and Pisces face tough scenarios that threaten a blossoming relationship.
Saoirse Brey pens beautiful found family dynamics, and clearly knows what she is writing about in the music scene. At times, I could vividly imagine the characters interacting and felt like I was right there with them at the festival. For a debut, she has a strong voice that I am looking forward to reading more of!
I will note that with this being the first book in a series, A Taste of Bliss does start out slowly, and struggles with some pacing issues. It's not until after 50% in the book that the story really kicks into gear, but when it does, I was hooked! If you love a slow burn, and lots of angst, then you'll really enjoy this one!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Sapphirine Publishing for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book! One of my favorite aspects was the relationships between the characters and how real and layered they felt. Saoirse does such a great job of creating friendships that feel genuine, realistic and remind me of my own friends and I. I found myself laughing out loud a few times over their antics! I don’t want to say much about Bliss and Pisces because I want you to uncover their story for yourself, but I thoroughly enjoyed their dynamic and the push/pull between the two of them. I feel Saoirse was very creative with their story line and I can't wait for more! The spice level is more on the minimal side in this book, but I felt it suited the story perfectly. You can tell it’s going to ramp up as the series progresses.
Something else I really appreciated was the world lore. I’m so excited to learn more about the made versus born fae that are introduced in this book. Although I felt Saoirse unraveled the foundational aspects of this new world really well, I’m eager for her next books to unearth more. I personally felt it was the perfect amount of information given and secrets kept, within, A Taste of Bliss.
Also, I’m going to need book two ASAP. Once you read it, you’ll understand why.
I gotta say, I had a GREAT time reading this book! I laughed, I raged, I gasped and clutched my pearls.
A Taste of Bliss was so easy to sink my teeth into (pun intended) and was a refreshing take on fae fantasy. Reading it felt simultaneously nostalgic and original, like the books I loved reading as a teen had finally grown up with me in a magically new and somewhat twisted way. This is a paranormal romance, with characters who are not only navigating magical challenges, but also real-world personal problems.
The found family vibes are absolute peak and I truly loved how the author created both a slow burn and fated mates romance. There were moments that hit pretty close to my heart and really had me rooting for each character.
Loved the metalcore/masked men ;) vibes.
LOVED the characters!!
It was easy for me to connect with Bliss, our FMC and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
Looking forward to the next installment in the Born and Made Series!
This story drops you right into a world that feels filled with layers, following three sisters - two of which are succubus (succubii?). Their lives are filled with musical ambition, the search (or avoidance) or their mates, and a drive for more. There’s a whodunnit mystery and lots of missing time throughout the story that is slowly filled in when the timelines weave together. It’s the kind of premise that promises depth and drama right from the start.
What worked for me was the world-building - it’s vivid and immersive, the kind of setting you can picture clearly and dive into that band scene. The dynamic between the sisters is another highlight - their bond feels authentic and gives the story a good place to ground us. Who knew I was so into heavy metal festivals? It’s electric, full of energy and potential, like the story is about to break into something big.
One thing to note: this book ends on a serious cliffhanger, so if you like tidy resolutions, be prepared to wait for the next installment. Overall, it’s atmospheric, ambitious, and definitely leaving room for more.
Netgalley gave me the chance to review this book and it was well worth it. My review is 100% true.
Who doesn't love a Fae crossed with metal music story. This first book from Saoirse Brey was well written with the twists and turns that keep you on your toes throughout the whole story. This is the first book so it does end on a cliffhanger and it is a good one. The story follows Bliss, a succubus, who really doesn't like to be a succubus because she isn't into causal hooks up to keep her power up. She is on the mission to bind her bondmate being a Born Fae but there is a block. Navigating an abusive relationship, a new interest who drives her nuts but fascinates her, and being a band manger to her sister's band. Bodies are dropping left and right but the story keeps you up at night to finish it to see where it will go.
STOPPPPP I love urban fantasy paranormal supernatural vibes!!
This is a super vibes review: I just really loved the characters and the cool music intertwined world that Bliss and Pisces live in - it’s very moody and edgy and romantic. There’s a bit of a murder mystery here and way more questions than answers ( but in a really good way) I feel like I’m hooked and I need to know what’s going on in the next book cuz this cliffhanger was CRAZY and I feel like we’ve only JUST started to scratch the surface of this storyline.
I would have loved to see more spice but I have a feeling now that it’s being saved for the next book (one can hope).
Awesome book for people who like crescent city, urban romance fantasy, and fun vibes with a little suspense and mystery!
“Yall this book felt soft in a way that sneaks up on you. It has that gentle healing energy where the main character is trying to put their life back together and ends up finding something sweeter than they expected. The love interest brings comfort and patience and the kind of presence that feels like a warm breath after a long cold day.
The writing has heart, the moments feel natural, and the romance grows in this quiet but meaningful way that makes you slow down and appreciate every little scene. It is tender, emotional, and full of that feeling of choosing joy again after life has taken a lot out of you. If you love romance that feels peaceful and full of hope, A Taste of Bliss is a beautiful read.”
The cliffhanger on this was diabolical lol i won’t lie at first this felt dragged out and i was a Little confused but it makes sense at the end and is worth pushing through. I’m extremely upset at the ending cause wtf do you mean?? But i will absolutely be getting book 2 when it comes out. As a debut novel im not mad at it and enjoyed my time! Thank you so much NetGalley and Saoirse berry for the chance to read this early! If you are interested the book is out 11/21!
ARC ~ A Taste of Bliss by Saoirse Brey Book One of The Born and Made Series
This was a really good paranormal story between Bliss, a succubus and Pisces, a siren fae. The story talks about loss and the struggle of feeling like you don’t belong. Also of the hope of finding your fated mate to spend the rest of your life with.
I do feel like there was a lot more back story for the secondary characters than the two main ones.
Also big spoiler alert...
. . . . . . it ends on a cliffhanger. :(
🎀Paranormal 🎀Fated Mates 🎀Siren 🎀Succubus 🎀Found Family 🎀Band Romance
I loved this take on fae and as a fan of the TV show Lost Girl, this book was a perfect read for me! Bliss, a succubus who hates casual sex, was such an interesting character to spend time with as she struggled with not only being a succubus but her love life as well. I also really enjoyed the side characters and hope to see more of them in the future. My favorite has to be Dericia. I love her and Bliss' dynamic. The ending had me SCREAMING. Can't wait for book 2!!
Sadly I had to DNF this book.... It was taking me took long to read and unfortunately when that happens for me it means I won't be finishing the book. Don't get me wrong I loved the concept and was liking some parts of the book but I just couldn't find my groove like I can when I know I will get through a book.
THIS WAS THE ONLY BOOK I WAS READING IN NOVEMBER AND DID NOT READ ANYTHING ELSE CAUSE THIS BOOK BACKED ME UP...
It is av very charterbuilding book with a lot of intressthing develpment in the story. It is slowburning but with a eye to detail book. it is such a personal book and I am stuck in it since the beginning, the way Saoirse used the charters and how they work together is amzing. I cant wait for book 2.
This is a great fantasy romance with a good twist of rock n' roll and mystery. I loved the layers the book takes you through Bliss' journey to find her mate and herself.
Disclaimer: I received a free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
A Taste of Bliss is such a fun, unique twist on the succubi legend. Bliss being a succubus who hates casual hook ups is a great way to break convention and her desire for connection gives the story another layer of depth and relatability. I loved the spice and the mystery had me hooked and needing to find out what went wrong with Bliss's mate! This is perfect for fans of urban fantasy and masked rock bands 😏
This book wrecked me (in a good way, I think?)! In a world where fae exist among humans, our protagonists Bliss and Pisces are involved in the heavy metal scene, which I absolutely love (can we get a playlist, please?)!
Bliss may be the unluckiest fae on Earth. First, she's born as a succubus, but needs to have feelings with someone before she can have physical intimacy - which she needs to survive. She hopes finding her mate might help, but those hopes are nearly snuffed out when something goes wrong with her bonding ceremony.
Meanwhile Pisces was a mortal turned fae against his will. His found-family of misfit fae formed an anonymous masked metal band that's gaining in popularity, and just happens to be Bliss's favorite.
Pisces and Bliss immediately rub each other the wrong way and their slow burn enemies to lovers story is a car crash you just can't look away from. With meddling wraiths, pretentious "born" fae, a killer, and a music festival throwing their lives into chaos, this story is a thrilling whirlwind of fairy madness.
I do wish we got more time to see them together, as this is a very slow burn.
Fair warning, since this is a series, the book ends on a cliffhanger rather than Happily Ever After. I can't believe you'd do this to us, Saoirse! I hope the next book comes out soon.
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
