DNF
Only got to 8% but that was enough for me to know I’m not gunna like this book.
FMC already seems like she’s gunna be a massive pushover. Nothing about this book was getting me hooked and no - I won’t carry on reading to see if it gets better later on.
Also, it almost sounds as if it was written by a child it wasn’t good at all. And I noticed that sometimes it would be spoken in past tense, then current time, past tense again etc

Dnf. Not rating because I didn’t get very far. I couldn’t get into it.
**** Edited review because my dumbass got influenced by BookTok and I wanted to finish the book. I really wish I hadn’t. The fmc pissed me off so bad. She was so dumb when it came to her bf and believing his lies. I wanted to smack tf out of her so many times. She’s so freaking weak, it’s pathetic. I also didn’t feel the connection between the two mc’s. The mmc shares his feelings for the fmc internally but he doesn’t show them very well. He treats her like crap, yells at her and barely interacts with her for the first half of the book so I don’t know how she has any type of feelings for him. Which she really doesn’t, it’s more physical. Then the mmc is an asshole to her, likes seeing her in pain & hurt and he’s constantly threatening her. He likes her fear, there’s even a scene where he states the fmc must like the abuse her bf gives her and that he (the mmc) can do that. He’s borderline abusive, not only emotionally but kinda physically too even though he never touches her, he likes seeing her hurt. This is more like a DV relationship than actual love. I don’t see how anyone likes this and can stomach it.

I love a dark romance as much as the next person but this one just wasn’t it for me
The two pov’s felt like a waste of time with so much information repeated, I felt like I had to read the same story twice

Putting 💊 into someone’s drink and taking advantage of them is glorified R. A. P. E. I really hate when authors justify that with their morally gray men. You can write a bad guy without him R.A.P. I. N. G!!! And that’s what it is. Absolutely disgusting. And yea I know the trigger said “lack of bodily autonomy” which ok I’ve read plenty of books where drunk people have sex. But the drugging without knowledge takes that in trigger warning of the book as glorified R. A. P. E.

I really struggled with this book. There were moments where I couldn’t put it down but then there was more times then not I was getting annoyed. I’m kind of upset about this one.

I’m kinda torn on this one. It had its moments, but overall it was honestly pretty hard to get through. It’s a very slow burn—like we’re talking 70% in before the spice finally started spicing. And while I don’t mind a build-up, this one felt like it dragged more than it hooked me.
The FMC… I just couldn’t fully get on board with her. Her whole holier-than-thou attitude got under my skin more than anything, and it made it hard to really connect with the story.
By the time things finally picked up, I was already a little checked out. Even with the cliffhanger at the end, I’m not exactly running for the next book. It wasn’t bad, but it just didn’t hit the way I was hoping it would.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Make Me Sin beyond, I like it. It definitely had me enthralled the entire time. You wanna talk about slow burn, enemies-to-lovers? Lord have mercy. The plot was just so good and the chemistry between Set and Serena hit so well.
There was just something about the book that made me knock down a star. I truly can't say what it was that would have made this a perfect 5, it just felt like something was missing. I am looking forward to the sequel for sure though. I need to know how it all turns out.

Starten var sløv. Så sløv, at jeg skimmede en del kapitler bare for at se, om der skete noget. Det trækker ned, og det er grunden til, at den ikke får 5 stjerner.
Men så skete der noget.
Den fangede mig. Ikke på grund af plottet alene. Ikke på grund af twistet. Men på grund af dynamikken – og især FMC.
Hun er passiv, ja. Men ikke på en irriterende måde. Ikke på en “jeg er ligeglad med mit liv”-måde. Hun reagerer realistisk. Hun reagerer som en person, der har været i noget usundt før, og som ikke bare kan slippe ting, selv når hun ved, hun burde.
Og det ramte mig.
Jeg kunne forstå hende. Ikke fordi vi er ens, men fordi hendes måde at reagere på gav mening. Hun holder sig i ro, fordi hun ved, han er farlig. Hun stikker af, fordi hun ikke kan leve med den version af sig selv, han vækker. Hun kan ikke læse hans tanker. Hun ved ikke, at han ville brænde verden ned for hende. Hun ved kun, at han kan dræbe.
Og derfor giver hendes valg mening.
MMC er ikke en blød “dark hero”. Han er farlig. Voldfarlig. Og besat. Det er kontrasten mellem hans brutalitet og hans totale beskyttelse af hende, der gør det intenst.
Twistet med, at han ikke er helt menneskelig? Jeg havde ikke set det komme, men det føltes ikke forkert. Det åbnede historien i stedet for at ødelægge den.
Cliffhanger? Ja. Er jeg sur? Nej. Jeg er nysgerrig.
Den her bog er ikke perfekt. Den er ujævn. Men den gjorde noget ved mig. Den fik mig ind i historien på en måde, jeg ikke har oplevet i noget tid.

I loved the dual POV chapters. Getting into both characters heads was perfection. AND THE ENDING?!?!?! I thought I had it sussed out as we got further along, I could not have been more wrong! I genuinely had a book from my never-ending tbr list queued up for the next read but I'm having to ignore it and go straight for number 2! I need to see how Set and Serena's story will end!

Ugh! DNF and I always complete my books!
Do NOT beleive all the hype from social media! Do yourself a favor and skip! I have no idea where the amazing reviews came from. Being labeled as a Dark Mafia Romace has me confused. Dark? Not at all. Mafia, yeah ok I get that. Romance? None!
Ok, so I DNF at 50% and nothing, I mean nothing was going on, nothing!!! BORING HO-HUM! LAME! This entire book is written from the fmc's mind, all about her life, dipstick bf, and on and on and omg I just couldnt take it!! And the incredibly gorgeous, rich, impeccably dressed mmc gets 1 look at her and his entire world is on fire for her! Oh paahleease! The writing from his pov or his mind is utterly so freakin lame, I couldn't take anymore of him either! So at 50% DNF!!! I skipped to the last 3 chapters, I guess there was some "romance" but these 2 main characters are so weak, I couldn't do it!!! Couldnt go on! DNF!

Make Me Sin was just okay for me. The premise had potential, but the whole thing felt strangely incomplete, like there was a chunk of the story missing somewhere.
Set's fixation on the female character, I *just* finished the book and I don't remember her name, seemed to come out of nowhere. I never really understood what sparked it or why he became so focused on her, which made their whole dynamic feel pretty hollow.
I also expected a lot more spice than I got. There was way too much reliance on fingers and mouths for my taste, and after a while it just felt repetitive. For a book marketed this dark and steamy, I expected more variety and intensity.
There were parts I liked, but neither the characters nor the story ever really pulled me in. By the end I was mostly indifferent, and I doubt I'll continue with the next book in the series. There just wasn't enough here to keep me hooked.

I also expected a lot more spice than I got. There was way too much reliance on fingers and mouths for my taste, and after a while it just felt repetitive. For a book marketed this dark and steamy, I expected more variety and intensity.
There were parts I liked, but neither the characters nor the story ever really pulled me in. By the end I was mostly indifferent, and I doubt I'll continue with the next book in the series. There just wasn't enough here to keep me hooked.

From the first chapter, the tension was addictive, and the chemistry between the main characters was impossible to ignore. The author does an incredible job creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts dangerous, emotional, and utterly consuming. The characters are deeply flawed, making their choices frustrating at times but also incredibly compelling. I loved how the story leaned into the darker aspects of obsession and desire without trying to make them seem healthy or romanticized. If you enjoy morally gray characters and high emotional stakes, this book definitely delivers. The reason I landed on four stars instead of five is that some parts felt repetitive, and I wished a few plot points had been explored more deeply. There were moments where the pacing slowed, and I found myself wanting a little more development before moving on to the next big twist

Something different to read
This is probably the first bookm I've read which has very minimal conversation between the characters and more internal monologue in first person. It took a bit getting used to and the conversation picked up a little near the end of this book which i found better. There was a bit confusion at times where Serena called him Seth and Set even after he said to call him Set. Also sometimes in places it would be confusing as one minute she escaped then next had not so it threw me off. But given all that...and the fact the word folds was used sensually which I detest....it was a good story hence the 4 stars. It is worth a read and others may love it more

Den va så dålig? Enda anledningen till att den inte får 1 stjärna är för att det va vissa moments som inte sög. Och hon slängde in lite bilder i boken emellanåt som va trevliga att titta på i guess
Grammatiken va? Hon blandar nu tid och då tid hela tiden, först tänkte jag att det kanske bara va i början, men sen blev det liksom så mycket att det inte gick o ignorera
Noll karaktärs utveckling, Set hade också noll personlighet förutom att han va the devils son, som man dessutom knappt får veta något om
Enda anledning att jag inte DNF va för att jag hört att den slutar på en cliff hanger OCH TILL OCH MED DEN SÖG

Make Me Sin started as a slow burner for me, but once it found its rhythm, I was absolutely hooked. What began as a steady simmer quickly turned into a full-on, heart‑pounding read I couldn’t put down.
The suspense is constant—one of those delicious, creeping tensions that keeps you leaning forward, waiting for the next emotional hit. Serena’s turmoil was one of my favourite parts of the story. Her inner conflict felt raw and real, and watching her navigate that emotional storm pulled me in deeper with every chapter.
And that ending… I was not prepared. Completely shocked, in the best way. It tied the whole journey together with a punch that lingered long after I finished.

is Set a monster or a man obsessed?
Serenas life is a tough one, her boyfriend Nick is a waste of space, the only one she cared about is gone but now there’s a devil of a man that’s obsessed with her! I really enjoyed this first book, left on a cliffhanger that I wasn’t expecting but I’m desperate to see where book 2 takes us. The player has been played and I look forward to their seeing each other again, a matter of when not if. Love Serena, shes fiery and strong when needed, shes the human spirit that can control and calm Set the dark devil until she disappears. The chase is on.

Pick a name already!!! One second she is calling him Set and the next Seth. There was no consistency in the reasoning behind the constant back and forth between the names, Several times the things in one chapter were mentioned multiple times making things very repeatitive when they definitely didn’t need to be. The writing was very juvenile at times also and it seems as though there was no editing making there be many grammatical errors. The story line was fairly good though which is why I gave it 2 stars i wish i could do half stars as 2.5. I also wish the storyline would have been more consistent with the God aspect instead of it seeming to bounce between God status and mafia man.

The ending, no, you took a part of my soul. I'm still debating if I should read the second book or not. In some point, I do want to know how the story ends; however, am I able to handle it? I haven't seen any reviews about the 2nd book yet.
Set says he has no patience, but when it comes to Serena, he seems to have a lot of it. Certain times I couldn't understand her thinking, but ok that still makes the story good. But after how the book ended, how can Set ever forgive her?
