Review of advance copy received from Edelweiss+
May 10, 2026
Much thanks to Edelweiss and VIZ Media for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This edition contains the latter part of the Greed Island arc and the beginning of the Chimera Ant arc, which are a blast to read. The worldbuilding of Greed Island is super creative, fun, and surprisingly detailed, contributing nicely to the overall story. The fight scenes are genuinely engaging, coming from someone who usually dislikes them. I love the little details Togashi adds, like the card suit symbols in Hisoka’s dialogue or the art between chapters. The art style in general is adorable—especially with Gon and Killua.

That said, a couple of things deter this from being perfect for me, the first being Genthru, who is a less-than-compelling villain and not on par with the other antagonists in the series. The second thing is that some of the game mechanics and plot progression are slightly muddled, so I wasn’t always 100% sure how it got from point A to point B.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this edition. If you aren’t a collector and are more focused on actually reading the story, these 3-in-1s are an excellent option.
