Suspenseful and captivating. I was hooked. I needed to know how a little 7 year old girl can go missing from her bed with the entire house being locked up from the inside!! Police were baffled and unable to solve the mystery of Opal's disappearance. 13 yrs later, her parents Tiffani and Jude start getting messages on their phones and weird things keep happening to them. The messages keep hinting that one of them knows something. But they both keep claiming that neither knows what happened.
Now.. while this story was enjoyable and kept me intrigued... I was angered at the end. I can't get into details because.... spoiler... so I won't.. but let's just say, if I wasn't scared of breaking my kindle, I would have thrown it across the room. Because, what??? That is all... Opal deserved better. She needed justice and everyone in her life failed her.
It was a quick read with a story line that sucks you in. Add this one to your tbr!

This story is immensely sad as we watch parents go through the horror and unknown of what happened to their 7 year old daughter. There is a twist at the end, you can feel it coming and almost see it totally but not understand it until it happens. It’s a great small book and I highly recommend it. The underlining reality of the story is an important message regarding an important topic.

This book was a quick paced thriller that kept me engaged the whole time! I read it in one sitting needing to know how it ended (began?).

There were a few editing choices (I won’t get into for spoiler reasons) that I think could have been done differently for a bigger reveal, but over all this was a great quick haunting read.

This was a haunting tale of a parent's worst nightmare. It was full of denial, deception and paranoia.
