Award-winning author LJ Evans lives in Northern California with her husband, child, and the three terrors called cats. She's written compulsively since she was a little girl, often getting derailed from what she should be doing by a song lyric that sends her scrambling to jot a scene down.

A former first-grade teacher, she now spends her days deep in the pages of romance and mystery with a bit of the otherworldly thrown in. Her favorite characters are those who live resiliently—stubbornly and triumphantly getting through this wild ride called life with hope, love, and found families guiding the way.

"Go but follow. I love you. You have my heart."
I would give this book all the stars in the world if I could for the way it made me feel.

LJ Evans' storytelling is always poetic in essence, but also heartfelt, loving, and kind. The small details she adds to each story never fail to amaze me. Dax and Jada's story was also darker, and sexier, than I've seen from her before. No complaints here!
I read it in 24 hours because I couldn't put it down. And, like every time I love a book, it's taken me a bit to sort out my thoughts to write this review and say everything I want to say. Everything this story deserves.

"Never had one woman consumed me the way she always had. Never."
Jada had my heart from the start. The messed up family, the loving friends, feeling unworthy. But what really punches me in the gut with Jada is that she's so strong all the time, even when she's crumbling inside. She needs someone in her corner, to fight for her, and more than that, she wants to feel deserving of it. Worthy of being loved for who she is. I can relate.

"I wanted him to need me safe because it would destroy him if I wasn't."
In previous books, Dax sort of came off as just the playboy, the charming, suave guy, but there are layers to him. He's the protector, the one who cares, the one who's conflicted about the love for his family and the love for the one who got away. The one he allowed to get away. The one for whom he would lay it all on the line. How can you not love this man?

"You glow like there's a power inside you that no one else has. Like the moonlight casting a beam across a dark pond."
Dax's family owns a respectable clothing empire, Jada's dad is the head of a crime syndicate. Their worlds shouldn't come together, but they run in the same circles, so it's unavoidable. They first met when she was 13 to his 15, at a charity function, and it changed everything for both of them. It turned their world upside down, and nothing could ever compare to the feeling of the two of them together.
But it can't happen.
Because often the sins of our fathers come between us and what we want and deserve.

"I'd give up anything and everything if it meant a life at your side."
The chemistry and passion between Dax and Jada is undeniable. They're steamy together, and I loved it. The love they have for each other is crystal clear. Getting small glimpses of what happened between them in the past was one of my favorite things, and it only offered further proof that they were always meant to be. Only the timing has never been right.

Thrown back into her father's world and being put in danger from unknown elements, Jada finds herself leaning on Dax for help. For comfort. For protection. For love. And he's there for whatever she needs.
The intricacies of the Japanese (fictitious) crime syndicate, and the suspense element in this book, drive their love story forward and turn this book into a definite page-turner.

"Through thick and thin. Through bloodshed as well as happiness. I was hers."
It's obvious that what they really need is each other. Anything short of that just won't do. She makes him whole, and he brings out the best of her – the carefree Jada who never allowed herself to just be. The barefoot Jada, the bare-chested Dax on a beach somewhere. I can almost see them.

"For those who feel like your happily ever after is never going to happen."
The dedication in this book touched me. I am one of those people. I stopped believing in my own happily ever after. But if the stars can align for Jada and Dax, maybe that can happen for all of us.

I love how happy this book made me feel.

LJ Evans has WOWed me once again!!
Loved this story SO MUCH!!

Amazing doesn’t even begin to describe this book.

I probably sound like a broken record because with each book I read by LJ Evans, I describe her words as poetic. But you guys! They SO ARE! It never takes long for me to get swept away in the pages of her books and become so immersed I never want to leave.

Crossed by the Stars was exactly like that. I was immediately pulled into the world of the Mori & Armaud families, the betrayals, the secrets, and forbidden love. So perfectly penned, the emotion just poured off the pages. I felt like I was living in this book.

The storytelling is phenomenal, the writing eloquent. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat, the romance and passion filled me with all the happiness and pleasure, and the ending left my heart full.

Dax was absolutely charming. And determined and persistent and utterly head over heels for Jada Mori. When he spoke French? MF swoon!!

Jada tried so hard to fight it. Fight him. Ignore the pull. She tried numerous times to push him away. Not because she didn’t love him, but to protect him. But there was no winning against his fierce determination.

Their love is so powerful, so fierce, I could FEEL how they felt about each other. The way Dax stood up for her? Protected her? Fought for her? BE STILL MY HEART. This story was everything.

I finished this beautifully written story a few days ago and I am still thinking about it. Still WOWed by it. I loved it so much. And I cannot wait for the next book!

Five stars is not nearly enough for this book! I've read many of LJ Evans's books and loved them, but this one is hands-down my favorite, sorry Dawson. Dax and Jada are the whole package. This is definitely a story I started and did not want to put down. Jada and Dax intrigued me since they first appeared in Ms. Evans's previous books; Jada as a rebelling teen and Dax as the suave French friend of Dawson. Little did I know they had a long and complicated history and relationship. This book is almost a blend of Romeo and Juliet meets Shogun.
Before her rebellious years, thirteen-year-old Jada met fifteen-year-old Dax at a charity function and their star-crossed days began. But Jada's father being the head of a crime syndicate cut their time together short. It seemed Jada had no one who would stay in her life and support her, until she met Violet, but her heart belonged to Dax, and his belonged to her. Periodically thrown together in their social circle, their chemistry never failed but their actions often did.
However, when Jada is in danger Dax vows that this time will be different and she will have the love and support she deserves, something she's never had from her family. This story has it all: a credible threat to the heroine, suspense galore, danger, intrigue, a hot protective Frenchman, a feisty independent heroine, loads of sexual chemistry, a great backstory, and lots of surprises for the reader. I can always count on books by LJ Evans to deliver a heartfelt story with an HEA with well-developed characters and a well-paced plot. This book is no different but for some reason this book seems like more: more love, more determination, more chemistry, more intrigue, and more surprises. Grab Dax and Jada's story and fall in love with Dax and his determination to make the woman of his dreams his.

Jada and Dax's story is a fresh take on Romeo and Juliette, with the addition of the mob, a smart, tough businesswoman and a charming yacht builder. The Mori and Armaund families have an interwoven history that precedes Jada and Dax and, despite the attraction that's been brewing since they were teens, their family connections make a relationship all but impossible for these star-crossed lovers.

But when Jada's life is threatened, Dax doesn’t trust her father and his dubious connections to keep Jada safe. Dax makes it his mission to protect her. As they fight to stay one step ahead of danger those old feelings come rushing in and refused to be denied.

Evans has made a prominent place for herself in contemporary romance, and this is her best romantic suspense to date. The story is intriguingly complex and kept me guessing at every turn. I was on the edge of my seat devouring page after page, sometimes forgetting to breathe. While I was cheering them on every step of the way, I didn’t see how Jada and Dax could possibly overcome all the obstacles in their way, making their hard-won HEA all the sweeter.

If you like a romantic suspense that grabs you by the throat and won’t let go, here it is. Brilliantly conceived and masterfully executed, this one takes you on an exhilarating ride, steals your breath, and leaves your romantic heart with a happy sigh. Run to the 1-Click and get your copy so you can start reading this spellbinding, swoon-worthy, satisfying story today!

4.5 Stars!!

Having read the first Anchor Suspense Novel Unmasked Dreams earlier this year I couldn't wait for the next one! So as soon as this one was announced I got so excited for it and added it to my TBR List right away! I picked this one up as soon as i could and got so into this story! I loved it!

Right from the very first chapter I was hooked and needed more of this story! I wasn't sure what all to expect going into Jada and Dax's journey which pulled me into it even more. I loved getting to dig deeper with these two characters and connecting with them. I felt so much with both of them throughout!

I got so into this story and I enjoyed the fact that i could picture it all so clearly in my mind! It kept me on my toes and I didn't want to turn away from my kindle!

With Crossed by The Stars, Ms.Evans has created such a wonderful and addictive read! Her writing always makes me feel it all and then some and I can't get enough! I can't wait to read what she comes up with next! 💙

Crossed by the Stars: A Second-chance, Slow-burn Romance is a beautifully lovestory. I absolutely love LJ Evans writing style. The world building descriptions and settings are very detailed and vivid. I love how the two worlds that being clash are crime syndicate and a clothing empire. Dax and Jada’s chemistry and passion is undeniable and on fire. A darker tone and more sensual read that I absolutely loved. The complexities of the Japanese (fictitious) crime syndicate and the suspense element of this book were a definite page turner and exciting read. Fabulous lovestory from beginning to the very end.

Wow, wow and wow. This is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet and I loved taking my time reading this book. There are so many details that I enjoyed slowly devouring because there is a point to everything the author writes. Another thing I loved about this book is the cultural diversity that the author wrote in. I don’t read a lot of books that delve in the difference between cultures. I absolutely loved Dax and jadas push and pull chemistry and how deep down even though they couldn’t be together you could feel all the love they both felt.

This is a second chance romance with lots of heartache, sizzling moments, family traditions and unrequited love. This is a slow burn so there were moments I was like just be together but I understood that their families hating each other and doing anything your family says by Dax goes. But when Jada’s life is threatened Dax’ has to choose to either stand by the woman who has always had his heart or let go of her forever.

I received an arc to give an honest opinion.

Crossed by the Stars by LJ Evans is a slow-burn, second-chance romantic suspense told in first person dual POV. It’s the second book in the Anchor Suspense Novels series, and although it can be read as a standalone, the plot builds on events that began in Unmasked Dreams and there’s character crossover, so I recommend reading that first for maximum enjoyment. The story follows the relationship between Dax Armaud, French billionaire businessman and fashion empire heir, and Jada Mori, businesswoman and daughter of a Japanese crime lord.

Dax and Jada met as teenagers and had a brief romance until they learned what her father did for a living. Over the years, they fought the attraction, avoiding each other as much as possible while running in the same social circles. But when Jada’s in danger, Dax steps up to help, and this time, he’s not letting go.

I loved Dax and Jada’s love story! As characters, they were well-developed with a fantastic backstory and tons of sexual chemistry. I love all of LJ’s books, but for some reason, I didn’t expect to love Jada and Dax or their story as much as I did. Maybe I had preconceived ideas about them from previous books, but I was surprised at how quickly I fell for them both. Full of emotion, suspense, danger, intrigue, romance, and twisty surprises, this story kept me hooked from beginning to end as I rooted for Jada and Dax to get their HEA.

When you have had your heart broken more than once, can you let him back in?

Five stars rating is not enough for this epic, emotional and beautifully written book by LJ. She will grab at your heartstrings and never let go. My stomach was in knots throughout and she had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I had an idea that Jada and Dax's story was going to be an explosive one just from their characters in Unmasked Dreams. Crossed by the Stars is a slow-burn, second chance and suspense-filled love story just like Romeo and Juliet or Shinji and Hatsue.

Jada had been living a life of partying and not really caring until she was almost killed. She is a stubborn and feisty woman that feels that she does not need security or a man to protect her. She is loyal to those she loves and loves her back, will fight for her independence and keeps her heart caged. Jada's dad is a notorious crime lord that she does not want anything to do with. When her life is threatened, Dax, her long time friend and the man she thought would be in her life forever, tries to protect her. Jada is adamant that she does not need protection but Dax is determined because of her life being in danger. Will, she let him protect her? Jada keeps fighting her feelings for him because he left her before and she is sure he will again. When her father contacts her, how will she respond and react? Can she trust her father? Can she let Dax into her heart? Will she realize that Dax is not going to leave her? Can she see that Dax will always put her first? What happens when a family secret about the past comes to light?

Dax is known as a playboy and he does not shy away from it. He is a handsome, wealthy and smart businessman. He knows what he wants and nothing will stop him from attaining it. He has had feelings for Jada since they meet but there was something that stopped him from taking those feelings further. Dax has fought these for years as he watched her throw her life away. He walked away from Jada once and told himself that he would never do it again. When Jada's life was in danger he takes her away to protect her. While away his feeling grew stronger and stronger. When the lines become blurred and the attraction was too strong to deny, they let each other into their hearts. Dax gave Jada everything that she ever wanted as he had to show her that she can trust him and let him love her with all his heart. When more information about his family and the impact that Jada's father had on them, how does Dax react? Can he forgive and forget about the past? Can they both stop suffering from the past sins of their parents?

LJ's writing is poetic, full of details and grabs your attention right from the start. She always delivers a storyline that seems to outshine the book before. The more books that I read of hers the more I fall in love with her writing and storylines. For me, this is the best one by far. This book is a definite must-read and addition to anyone's TBR list. LJ, so glad that you wrote Dax and Jada's story.

I think I start off almost every review for a book by this author with this sentence, but LJ Evans really has done it again. Corssed by the Stars finally gave Jada and Dax their story and it was everything I hoped for. This author always gives us epic romances, but this book got a lot darker than previous books, but it was so good! I was on the edge of my seat while reading this one I definitely was just hoping these two characters would get their happily ever after!

Jada is a character we met in previous books and I've been hoping she'd get a book. Her family life is complicated and she made many choices that weren't good for her to escape reality for a bit. Jada doesn't let anyone close, because she doesn't want anyone to get hurt by her father and the life she was brought into. This woman deserves so much more though, because she's loving, protective, hardworking and deserves someone that will break down all her walls.

Dax was a character I've been curious about since we met him and I wasn't sure what to think at first. He's charming and definitely has women wanting him. Just like Jada he has a family history that's complicated, but he loves his family. Reading Dax's POV was really interesting, because we got to see a different side of him. He'll do about anything to protect the ones he loves and he's very stubborn. I loved his personality and his need for Jada to just let him in.

Then there's the chemistry between Jada and Dax. It's so clear there's an attraction and even love, but life has gotten in their way one too many times. Dax is determined to make Jada his and to keep her safe and Jada is determined to keep him away and keep her walls up. I loved watching their story unfold. It was steamy, sweet, loving, and so much more!

Again, LJ Evans created a playlist for this story and it fit the feeling of the story so well. I love how music is always incorporated in her books. It's a great addition to a story filled with amazing characters and story line. Besides the romance I loved the suspenseful side of the story. It had me on the edge of my seat and I really didn't see some of the events coming. I honestly could continue the list of things I loved about this book, but you really need to read it yourself. This book made me angry, laugh, cry, but also just sit there with a big smile on my face.

A captivating, star-crossed celestial rollercoaster ride that leaves you wishing on the stars.

"I'm just stating the truth. You glow like there's a power inside you that no one else has. Like the moonlight casting a beam across a dark pond."

Dax and Jada have been in love with each other since they were teenagers but thanks to their families, they have always been pulled apart. After ten years of fighting their attraction and families, Dax is no longer willing to fight when Jada’s life is threatened again and his love for her becomes too strong. Jada still tries to push Dax away for fear he will become collateral damage.

"Mon petit bijou, you continue to be the bravest, strongest, fiercest woman I've ever met. Being in your life, being loved by you, and being able to love you in return...there is no greater honor."

WOW! Total book hangover. I could not put the book down as it had me gripped right from page one and had me on the edge of my seat. I have been waiting for Dax and Jada since Unmasked Dreams and they surpassed my expectations. The tension and chemistry between Dax and Jada is so thick that it just bleeds off the pages. Jada is such a strong independent woman. Dax is so swoony and his love for Jada is all-encompassing. They are the true definition of star-crossed lovers but with a HEA. LJ has this magically spellbinding way with words that pulls you into the story and makes you feel like you are living the story while reading it. I can not recommend this or any of LJ Evans's books enough.

5 Maple Leafs… Crossed by the Stars (Anchor Suspense 2) is a star-crossed lovers, slow burn, friends to lovers, romantic suspense that is told in the dual first-person point of view of Dax and Jada.

Truthfully, I didn’t think any book was going to top my favorite read this year (also another LJ story; Charming and the Cherry Blossom), but this book—Dax and Jada—my god, they’re everything. They blew everything I’ve read this year out of the water and solidified its place as my number 1 read this year.

LJ’s writing is not only of brilliance, but she has this ability to captivate and keep you so intertwined and invested in her characters that you never want the book to end.

The layers of Dax that unfolds in this story makes him one of my ultimate book boyfriends. He comes off as the playboy, suave guy, but really, you just have to learn who he is. His love for Jada, the war that rages in him over having to choose family or her, and his protectiveness to everyone he cares for—I loved watching him unfold and finally lay it all on the line.

And Jada. Gah, I loved her from the start. I connected quickly to her, because she’s fierce, loves with all she is, loyal to those who deserve it, but also forgiving in a way I wasn’t expecting. She spent so much of her life on her own, being alone even if she was in a room full of others, that she struggled with not having control, to lean on others when things were dark and hard. It was beautiful to watch her grow and learn to not only lean on those she cared about, but to also trust in them, and in herself.

Now I’m a sucker for suspense, and this book was everything in that department. LJ had me on the edge of my seat, making guesses, but then second guessing myself. It’s everything I want in a book like this.

I highly suggest adding this book to your must reads!

While reading Unmasked Dreams, I was immediately drawn to Dax and Jada. They already had that star-crossed lovers vibe that I find enticing. So imagine my excitement when LJ Evans announced that she was going to tell their story in Crossed by the Stars. It was a no-brainer, I needed to read this book!

And while I had my own theories, nothing could have prepared me for how outstanding and page-turning Crossed by the Stars is. LJ Evans took me on a beautiful and heartfelt journey, filled with angst, slow-burn and so, so much suspense. Her writing is mesmerizing, and the way she crafted Dax and Jada's intricate story is magnificent.

They had met in their teenage years, as both their families run in the same circles. Jada Mori is the daughter of the head of a Japanese crime syndicate, while Dax Armaud's family owns a clothing empire. And while they can't be together, the love has always been there.

The vulnerability of Jada, which she never shows because she hides behind her strong façade, is beautiful and emotional. She is bound to her family and is constantly struggling with feeling worthy. But getting to know Dax was an unexpected surprise. He is complex and charming, strong and patient. Together they are fierce.

Crossed by the Stars is, by far, one of my favorite books of 2021.

Crossed By The Stars has whirled its way into my top 5 for 2021, LJ Evans has outdone herself!

"A life full of love will always be worth it.”

There are so many pieces of Crossed by The Stars that are exquisite, Dax and Jada are so glamorous, mysterious, and above all suspicious of each other at the beginning of the book - I couldn't look away from the very first page.

The suspense between Jada, her father and Kaida is intoxicating. The back and forth between Otosan and Jada is both intimidating, and sorrowful, and somehow matches the grief and anger between Dax and Etíenne over Éclair, the Mori family, and Jada's involvement with the Kyodaina.

The romance between Dax and Jada is both sweet and sinful, their time together at Vanya's was so steamy it was simply blistering!! Dax's quiet, weighty need for control is so, SO HOT, just YUM!! Jada's fire and ice is just as hot, and so beautiful!

A full five stars for the gorgeous Crossed By The Stars, thank you LJ Evans for a book that hooked my interest and kept me fully engrossed, I cannot wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!

The fact that I loved this book surprised me. I have read everything LJ Evans has written and loved them all but I didn't think I could love Jada.

Boy! Was I wrong. She stole my heart with this one line. "Stop being nice, or I'm going to have to stab you with something." I wanted to wrap her up and hug her so tight. This is a young woman so desperately in need of love, but she doesn't think she deserves it. Dax is strong and sure in his love for her but his family and hers makes loving her and being with her difficult. There are so many obstacles to them being together that they have to work through, my heart broke for them. They are so resilient and so strong and so real that they mended all the cracks!

This story takes you on a wild ride. It's darker than some of LJ Evans' other books and a bit hard to read sometimes but I couldn't stop. I KNOW this is a great book because even when I wasn't actually reading, I found myself thinking about Jada and Dax and trying to figure out how they could move forward together. They were people to me, not characters in a book.

Once again, the music that starts each chapter is a voice in the story. It sets the tone for the chapter and gives a bit of a hint at what's coming.

Swoon worthy romance with family angst that will pull upon your heartstrings and keep you up late at night! This beautiful book will capture your heart and hold onto it. LJ Evans knows how to entertain while painting vibrant imagery that tickles your senses. Pick up this unputdownable book, you'll fall in love!

Jada has always intrigued me. She's fierce, intelligent and dedicated to those that she loves. She's been damaged by her family and by a past love. Disappointment isn't a stranger to her golden heart.

Dax is suave and smart. He knows how to please a woman, but can't seem to claim the one woman who he gave his heart to such a long time ago. He has family obligations that pull him away from attaining his happily ever after.

With forced distance and unfulfilled longing these two beautiful beings come together in an explosive way and it makes for heart pounding action and steam that sizzles up from these pages. These two together are delightfully delicious and this is the story that I couldn't wait to read. It's encompasses everything that I've come to love by this ah-mazing author. Treat your heart to this sentimental romance, you'll never be the same again!

This book is the definition of unputdownable. LJ Evans captured by heart with Dax and Jada in Unmasked Dreams, so I was so excited to read their story. This did not disappoint. I loved seeing more of their background and watching them finally find their HEA.

This forbidden romance with Romeo & Juliet vibes (but a much better ending) had me on the edge of my seat. Not only was I 100% wrapped up in their romance, I was beyond intrigued by the suspense. The mystery of who was behind the threats of retribution had me playing detective, and the action packed twists and turns had me flipping pages well into the night.

The storytelling was magnificent and brought these characters to life. I love that Jada was fierce, but vulnerable at the same time. Those moments where her guard was down were just as captivating as her moments of bravery. And Dax...oh Dax. He was loyal and faithful to a fault, but he really stepped up when it mattered. He was good through and through, and he completely won me over with his heart of gold.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was knowing it was over. I could follow these two forever. I can't wait to see what LJ has in store for us next, but I really hope she will have more romantic suspense for us in the future!

Crossed By The Stars by L.J. Evans is a second chance romantic suspense filled love story. We met Dax Armand and Jada Mori in Unmasked Dreams. Dax and Jada have history. They met as teens and fell in love, but because of their families, could not be together. Dax’s family was the head of a huge clothing conglomerate. Jada’s father was the head of a Japanese crime organization. Because of each family’s wealth, they were often in the same space. Both knew that given Jada’s father activities, they could never be together, but that did not stop them from wanting each other. They sparked whenever they close to one another. You will love Dax he’s every woman’s dream, smart , handsome, charming and totally in love with Jada, but because of fakmily, he had to walk away. Jada reacted by partying too much and other risky behavior and had a bit of a hard edge that she showed to the outside world. But when alone she drops the facade and gives in to her vulnerability. She has very little love in her life from her family. Miss Evans is a master storyteller! She sucks you in so effortlessly that you are reluctant to put the book down and close you eyes! Do yourself a favor and one click this emotionally satisfying book!

This book is everything!! It has reminded me why I love LJ Evans’ books so much! The attention to detail, the beautiful prose, the use of the song lyrics… all of it transports the reader to another place. I thought I knew who Dax and Jada were from previous books, but the undiscovered layers were plentiful and intriguing! The suspense component is perfectly executed. I was suspecting everyone at one point or another!😂 And don’t get me started on the romance! Every aspect of it was deeper, more real, perhaps because it had been forbidden for so long. But because everything about the book felt more intense, it made the plot twists more nerve wracking and impressive! Can I just say, Jada is a lucky woman? Dax might just be my new favorite guy! Without giving any spoilers, I loved the way the book ended and the bonus epilogue, but I hope we see more from them in the future!😉 I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'm not sure how or why but each book I read by LJ Evans I find something new to love about work. She really has a way with words and I was engrossed in this story from the first page and read this in one sitting waaay past my bedtime.

Dax and Jade have a huge past that is full of secret rendezvous, stolen kisses and family secrets that kept them apart for too long. And it would have kept them apart more if Jada's past didn't decide it was time for her to pay for her mistakes. And it's this that wakes Dax up to see that no matter what his love was too powerful to fully walk away from her. It drove him crazy that she was left to fend for herself for so long (he was partly to blame for that) that
She was not ready for his help. But after spending a few beautiful days in isolation (or so they thought) she finally decided it was time to let her wall down around him. They almost ended up losing each other but their love was too powerful to kill and in the end HEA was waiting for them right around the corner.

I have to be honest here, I'm not the biggest fan of the slow burn stories because I'm a very impatient woman, but I won't pass on a LJ Evans book for anything because there's just something so poetic about the words she writes. Each new book has her heart & soul flying off the pages so how could I not love it when she makes us part of her world in brilliant ways. Now, I've read a ton of books by her since I'm a HUGE fan, and Crossed by the Stars is a bit more suspenseful than she usually pens & I'm HERE FOR IT. Dax has had secret feelings for Jada Mori for a long time, but the timing never seemed to be right, but that didn't stop him from wanting her no matter what. Jada is from a crime family so you already know this fact has a big target painted on her back, and honestly, it's going to take someone really strong to have her back, so it's a good thing that Dax is willing to go the distance this round, and maybe just maybe, they'll finally have the happily ever after that they're destined to have, but you'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out because I'll never tell! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Jada and Dax's story (or Jax as I like to call them) will absolutely blow you away! LJ's writing will keep you captivated from beginning to end. These star-crossed lovers have their world turned into chaos and watching them deal with that, while working through their long-standing feelings for each other, was breathtaking. My heart hurt for them in this Romeo and Juliet style romance.

This story was a complex weave of suspense, intrigue and drama, so beautifully told that I couldn't get enough! It was pure escapism - into a world of riches that I've only ever seen in movies. From the Japanese culture to the underbelly of crime, this story kept me on my toes.

LJ's character development begins in earlier novels so, while this can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend you read her other books too. In particular, Unmasked Dreams which comes before this one, but honestly you should just read them all! Escaping into an LJ Evans book is pure heaven. And this romantic suspense, full of danger and twists, totally hit that heavenly mark!

Get ready for another tale of intrigue, suspense and romance when you dive into Crossed by Stars. This is the story of Jada a c Dax, who we met in Unmasked Dreams, the previous book in this series. Jada and Dax are starcrossed lovers, who for various reasons believe they can never be together. In this story, we learn a bit about why, but also about a threat to Jada that brings Dax to her side.

I enjoyed the suspense and the challenge of discovering the threat to Jada, but I absolutely enjoyed the interactions between the couple even more. Jada is headstrong and fiercely independent, as she has been forced to protect her heart all her life. Dax is her fierce protector, who has tremendous loyalty and strength toward his family, his friends and, of course, Jada.

I highly recommend this book if you love a great HEA with a few twists and turns thrown in.

What a rollercoaster of a ride! This book has you on the edge of your seat from the beginning right through to the end! Absolutely adored Jada and Dax' s story. It gave me all the feels, made me smile and laugh, made me want to cry, it had me frustrated and angry - a rollercoaster of emotions that can only be summed up as a modern day Romeo and Juliet but with a HEA which for me is a must!
The work that has gone into this book is astounding, from the different languages, cultures, detailed scenery, song lyrics which really matched the chapters effortlessly, and the main character behaviours which intertwine beautifully, I couldn't ask for anything more in a romance novel!

Holly mother of slow burn!!!
Dax Armaud is my new book boyfriend, talk about swoon worthy. I love all of LJ Evans books, but this one jumped right on top, becoming my favorite.
Crossed By The Stars can easily be read as a standalone, but for better understanding I recommend reading Unmasked Dreams first. Ever since reading Unmasked Dreams I was curious about Dax and Jada. I must admit, at first I disliked Jada, the friendship she had with Dawson, made Violet uncomfortable, especially since she was Violets friend first. But as the story unfolded I came to love her and wished for her happy ending.
Dax & Jada are explosive together, their chemistry and yearning for each other is palpable. LJ Evans wrote it so well, I could feel it in my soul. This book is a perfect mix of past and present, each chapter exposing more and more about the connection between these two. It's also very cleverly written, because it keeps you guessing who the real villian of the story is, and what's going to happen next. A heartfelt love story, mixt with action. What I loved most about it, is how she took a concept, thoroughly researched it, then she put her amprent on it. Definitely in the top 5 of the books I've read this year.

Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

I read this book in one sitting, and I'm still dealing with the hangover it left me with. Dax and Jada are the sort of couple that you can't help but want to get all emotionally invested in. If anyone deserved a happily-ever-after, it was these two, especially given the sacrifices they felt were necessary, costing them so much. Naturally, they had to go through a whole lot more this time around, and there was a great deal of growth on both sides. Dax and Jada have love and loyalty in spades, and they're equally protective of each other and those who mean most to them. Just like with the previous Anchor Suspense book, Unmasked Dreams, LJ Evans has struck a fine balance between the romance and suspense aspects in this new story while also developing one her most unforgettable couples ever. That's saying something because she's yet to create characters and stories that aren't layered and complex. Crossed by the Stars easily garners five stars.

I wish I could give this book more than a 5 -star rating because it so deserves it! I’ve been waiting for Jada and Dax’s story and it was everything I had hoped it would be, and so much more. Killer suspense with all of the feels, and an incredible HEA.

This forbidden love story of Jada and Dax is full of secrets, drama, intrigue and suspense. It’s also a fantastic love story and oh-so-steamy! Written in the same beautiful way as her previous books, Ms. Evans did an amazing job of further developing the characters in Crossed, and then completely immersed us into their chaotic world. There is so much more to Jada than the party girl we’ve seen in past books! I grew to love Jada and Dax so much. (DAX!!!) It takes great skill for an author to make you love a character you previously didn’t care for, like Jada, or at least find some grudging respect and feelings for, like Otósan and Kaida.

I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and I wanted to read it again as soon as I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book! It’s one of my favorite reads of 2021 and my new favorite by LJ Evans.
