Hey! You want to know all about The Odyssey but you don’t want to wade through a 600 page tome?
Have I got a book for you!
This is the perfect cheat guide to Homer’s epic, written by a literature scholar.
I appreciated his emphasis on context, and showing how an Ancient Greek audience might appreciate the story differently from a contemporary audience.
Gods! Monsters! Hungry Giants!

I loved this. It is the perfect companion to reading the Odyssey but is also just a lovely book to read on it's own merit. It also serves as a beautiful, high quality book for your shelf.
