Set in the sun-soaked world of California surf culture, Tattered Tides is an emotional, slow-burn romance about second chances, self-forgiveness, and the healing power of love.
Weston Ashford was determined to have it all. After a tumultuous upbringing, he’d found a family of his own, a safe place to call home, and his surfing. As a World Junior Champion, his future was finally bright, until his past came for him, and one mistake had him sinking straight toward rock bottom.
Years later, he’s fresh-out-the-slammer and stripped of his medal, his future uncertain. When one last chance to follow his dream of becoming a professional surfer presents itself, he takes it with both hands—no distractions, no weakness. That is, until he crosses paths with his coach’s daughter. Weston quickly realizes that, while she’s the only person capable of shaking his focus, she may be the only one capable of healing his heart too.
Willow Graham isn’t supposed to be here. She had plans, and they didn’t include an abrupt move back to her hometown of Pacific Shores, or dropping out of the University she worked so hard to attend. Her entire life unraveled after a traumatic experience she’s still struggling to come to terms with, and her only priority is getting back on track.
Both hellbent on rebuilding their futures and rediscovering who they are, Willow and Weston initially find themselves at odds when their shared spaces cause a tension neither of them are prepared for, but as their forced proximity gives way to mutual understanding, they discover a connection deeper than they ever thought possible.
Will their unexpected bond prove strong enough to overcome the tides between them, or will they end in tatters?
Sarah fell in love with reading as a child, starting with the Magic Treehouse Series. She quickly learned that books can take her to all the places she always dreamed of going, and allow her to live endless lifetimes in the one that we are given. Sarah believes that a good, fluffy romance novel can make even the darkest days a little bit brighter. She believes in love stories readers can root for, the kind that will make even the skeptics believe in all that cheesy stuff like soulmates. She longs to produce stories that readers can pick up, and regardless of what’s weighing them down in life, feel a little lighter when they finish. Sarah was born in California and raised in Southern Oregon, and still considers herself a Pacific Northwest gal at heart; right down to being a coffee snob, collecting hydro flasks, adamantly believing in Sasquatch, and feeling like rain-drenched forests are a form of therapy. Sarah now resides in North Carolina with her husband, Mike, and their dog-baby, Rue. When she’s not writing, she’s likely reading, and if she’s not reading, odds are she’s out searching for a decent cup of coffee, or a rainy pine forest.
4.5⭐️ honored that sarah allowed me the privilege to read this early ~ an absolute must read! 🩷✨📖 any book with leo graham is going to have me swooning, but somehow he even had me swooning when he’s a full ass father. a perfect slow burn beach read!!
This book was everything I knew it was going to be, emotional in the best and most devastating way.
I truly adored Weston. After everything he’d been through, the way he showed up for Willow and became her safe place just completely melted me. Willow’s trauma was honestly heartbreaking, and watching her navigate that alongside someone who understood pain on such a deep level made their connection feel even more powerful. They weren’t perfect, but they were exactly what each other needed, two people learning how to heal while also becoming a safe haven for one another.
And what can I say about Pacific Shores? That setting gets me every single time. It’s one of those places that feels like a warm hug, even when the story is putting your heart through it.
Emotional, tender, and healing, this one definitely delivered.
This was such a great book and the narration was done so well! It really brought the emotions of this book and made you feel so much!!
This was a beautiful, yet at times heartbreaking story about overcoming trauma and past troubles & finding a way to start again. Weston was such an amazing MMC and while dealing with his own demons he continues to show up for Willow and became a safe place to land.
This book covered some heavy topics, but it was done so well! I felt so deeply for Willow & the things she had to overcome, but the chemistry and relationship between these two just puts you back together and gives the most beautiful story!
Such a great book with lovable characters, found family, and the most beautiful healing journey that made this one I would highly recommend!
Thank you Sarah A Bailey & NetGalley for this early copy!
I just love this world so much! Weston is just perfection!! Love the found family. Loved Willow as an FMC. I can't wait for more in this series!
Ugh my heart is full! Sarah has a way of pulling you back into this world and her writing is just so beautiful. I fell in love with Weston he was just perfection. Willow was such a strong FMC and I loved her relationship with her dad Leo! She is her fathers daughter for sure! Loved all the found family and seeing all the previous couples make an appearance and I'm also so excited for this second gen I'm already loving the characters and Sarah already drops hints for archer and allies book and I can not wait for that one! The things Weston does for her I can not! Sarah just knows how to right these swoony hot men you fall in love with!
I loved Heathen and Honeysuckle so much so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized this was a second generation book. This follows Leo and Darbys daughter, Willow, who is back in town after having a traumatic experience. Needing the comfort of home and family she decides she is gonna take a semester off from school to help her get her mental health in check. Then we have Weston who is also trying to get his life back in control. He is fresh out of prison and not sure what to do in life. Before his sentence he was on track to become one of the best surfers in the world. So he now has an opportunity to train with Leo and get his dreams back. But this puts him in the path of Willow. This might just be the thing they both need.
If you’re looking for a summer read, you’ve found it! This book had all the perfect summer vibes. Heathens and honeysuckle was a 5 ⭐️ for me and this was no different. I was sucked in from the beginning. I was honestly a little emo to visit the characters of Pacific Shores again for the start of this second gen series. It brought back all the love I have for that series, instantly craving a reread. I would love to spend a day on the boardwalk.
Sarah knows how to write an addicting romance with lots of drama! 👏🏼 I’m so eager for the next book in September!
“No, Willow. My love language is you.” 😭
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
* edited to include ALC review. 3/5 star for narration. Unfortunately the male narrator just did not fit Weston’s character for me after having eyeball read the book and seeing character art for him. The voice was so deep and much older than Weston. I also could not find a comfortable speed to fit both narrators. Thank you Tantor media for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.
INFINITY STARS. How do I move on??? Dare I say this was my favorite Sarah A. Bailey book EVER!!! How is it possible every book she writes gets better and better. I never wanted it to end.
Wes is my new top book boyfriend and is the definition of perfection. This book will have you in ALL THE FEELS.
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced readers copy; I’m so happy to be back in Pacific Shores. I absolutely LOVED this book. Weston & Willow gave me daddy Leo and Darby vibes, but on their own too. Loved seeing the gang again with some new faces. Weston was pure perfection. I experienced all the emotions- cried, laughed, giddy giggles, swooned, raged. I really enjoyed that Weston was a bad boy but with a good heart, and eyes for only Willow, without the attitude to hurt her. The hook at the beginning of this book was captivating, and had me turning the page. I felt like the overuse of the nickname, “love” & “sugar” wore me out a bit but even so, I was sad once the book ended. I appreciated seeing Leo as a side character in this book, a few interactions had me laughing because I can totally picture the conversation exactly as written. Thank you for the opportunity to read Tattered Tides- releases May 5th.. I’m so excited for book 2 in the Celestia Cove series.
Pacific Shores, to me, is a perfect six star series. So naturally, I had high expectations going into Tattered Tides. They were not only met, but exceeded.
Coming back to this world was just what I needed and more. Sarah blends emotion and spice so perfectly.
This was my first time reading a second gen book and I am obsessed. Leo Graham as a dad are you kidding me?? And all the other familiar faces too. I squealed in excitement every single time.
I don't know genuinely how I'm supposed to go on waiting for book two.
I loved Willow and Weston from the get go. The way they found safety and solace in each other after their respective past traumas and trying to navigate every day life was everything to me. Watching them fall in love was pure beauty. And their chemistry was off the charts. I felt it in every part of my heart and soul. These two will stick with me forever, I guarantee it.
If you're a fan of Sarah's books already, then there is not one doubt in my mind you will love this one too.
Read content warnings as they are major themes throughout the entire book.
Thank you to Sarah A. Bailey, her team, and Netgalley for the early copy!
If you love messy emotions, dangerous tension, and that “I shouldn’t want you but I absolutely do” vibe… yeah, this delivers. the characters?? Flawed in the best way. I was constantly like “babes… what are you doing” but also fully rooting for them.
Willow has just gone through some the traumatic, comes home to heal and in walks a surfer boy working with her dad who has a not so good rap….. her father warns him to stay away from her….. yeah right
The romance builds with just enough angst to hurt a little (in a good way), and the stakes kept me locked in the whole time. Definitely one of those books where you tell yourself “one more chapter” and suddenly it’s 2a
review of advanced reader copy and advanced listener copy received by NetGalley
Fav quote: ALL OF THEM BECAUSE SARAH IS A MASTER “Like my breath was your source of oxygen and my touch was bringing you to life.”
Tropes: second gen • small coastal town • coach’s daughter • bad boy x good girl • trauma • virgin MMC • surfer mcs • forced prox
Look, I don’t even like lemon bars, but now I want them because THATS how engaging Sarah’s writing is. I literally wouldn’t change a single punctuation mark! I don’t even understand how someone could write so intentionally, so beautifully, tragically, and so healing. One can easily feel so scene by Sarah’s characters! This story in particular had parts that deeeeply resonated with me and I just wanted to hold our FMC Willow and promise her everything will get a little easier!
Finding someone who will carry your baggage with you! 😭😭😭😭 willow and Weston couldn’t come from more opposite sides of the tracks if they tried and they both end up with traumas so deep and scarring that they help the other through. But they also give space for individual growth and it’s tragically beautiful.
Alright, obviously a huge win for this book is the community. PLEASEEEEEEE read Sarah’s backlist first. There are SO MANY loved characters in this book and it’ll make so much more sense and hit so much harder if you know all the characters from their own stories!
The way that Sarah writes the inter conflict that Willow is waging within herself is so valid and accurate and heartbreaking. I can’t even believe we could empathize with Willow so deeply!
This book takes breaking, real-life issues and writes them so in such an impactful and tactful manner! It’s careful bur so biting!
And this book is so bingeable! I can never binge books, but I could, this would be one! So I’ll say for those who can’t binge, this is soooo so easy to pick back up and remember right where you left off! It’s so insanely addictive and the writing is unmatched!
The audiobook is PERFECTION! The narrator choices were spot on and fit the characters perfectly! It was so easy to listen to and so enjoyable! Willow’s narrator might be a new favorite narrator for me!
Do I recommend it? Absolutely!
Thank you so much Sarah Bailey, NetGalley, and Page and Vine for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I’m going to be totally honest I requested to read an ARC of this book solely because Sarah Bailey was my favorite breakout author I read in 2025. So I had no earthly clue that Tattered Tides would be following the next generation from the Honeysuckle series. As soon as I realized I swear I gobbled this up so fast.
I seriously didn’t think Sarah could top Vice & Violet. But she literally said hold my drink. Tattered Tides is a beautiful and heart wrenching story. The story follows our main characters as they overcome their trauma and their pasts. Both Weston & Willow were in such dark parts of their lives at the beginning of the story. But through this beautiful book we got to watch them become phoenixes rising from the ashes.
Watching Weston & Willow go on this journey of finding them and healing is something I think every reader so discover. But I will say please check trigger warnings especially for SA and assault.
Lastly, i have to mention the found family component of this book is phenomenal. We got to see our favorites from the first series, plus new faces that I’m sure will hopefully get their own books. But I loved every single character and they all added so much depth and support to our lead characters.
Overall, I cannot recommend this book enough and I 100% will be picking this up on release for a trophy copy. Lastly big Thank you Sarah A Bailey & NetGalley for this early copy!
WESTON & WILLOW ARE EVERYTHING, OMFG. this is my very favorite of Sarah A. Bailey’s to date, & that’s saying a lot because her books are all fantastic, but Wes & Wills had me in such a chokehold I read this in just two sittings! I’m usually hit or miss with second generation spinoffs, but this one — I LOVED seeing the whole family together again. Leo & Darby being parents was the absolute sweetest. Carter & Penelope too!
In true Sarah A. Bailey fashion, this was the perfect mix of heartbreaking, heartwarming, heartwrenching, & swoony. My heart broke for Willow AND for Wes. All they’ve been through. While they come from different backgrounds, their traumas are a lot alike, and the way they find themselves again in each other was so emotional it had me feeling all the feelings🥹 oh. and Parker can go straight to hell. don’t pass go, don’t collect shit😡
The found family in this one is STRONG, I love how the whole clan embraced Wes from the beginning. & THAT EPILOGUE WAS EVERYTHING😍🌊🌅☁️
🌄 almost strangers > best friends > lovers 🌊 second generation 🌄 heartbreaking trauma 🌊 found family 🌄 forced proximity 🌊 soulmates 🌄 hand necklaces 🌊 super strong family dynamics 🌄 duet pov & narration
5⭐️ 4🌶️
🫶🏼 thank you @pageandvinebooks + @tantoraudio for the #gifted physical and audio copies!
”I want to love you in a way that's as rare and ethereal as I find you. I want you to know depth and acceptance and adoration beyond your comprehension. Something unfathomed by any book you've read, any movie you've seen, or song you've heard. A kind of love curated and endlessly existing with your soul in mind."
This was my first book by Sarah Bailey, and I was blown away by the epic love, and emotional story telling! Weston and Willow were both broken people moving through life, and finding their solace in each other definitely helped heal them. They were so patient with each other, so good at communicating, being supportive, and it was just so heartwarming to see them fall in love. The way their relationship grows with them it was absolutely clear that they were soulmates meant to be together in every sense of the word.
I cannot recommend this book enough if you’re looking for an epic love story, full of spice, but also full of raw emotional healing! **please check trigger warnings for some heavy topics: abortion, sexual assault, death of a parent, off page violence in the past, child abuse**
I listened to the audiobook and both narrators did a fantastic job voicing the characters and bringing this story to life, I did not want to stop listening!! Thank you to Tantor Audio & NetGalley for an ALC of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion.
Sarah A. Bailey has been such a refreshing author to read as of recent. I fell in love with her from the pacific shores series and it’s been so special revisiting them in this next gen series with Tattered Tides.
Weston and Willow are so incredibly special, they are both so beautiful in their own ways and their story of growth and healing is so emotionally gripping I couldn’t put this book down. They just came together not only through connection and chemistry but through trauma and love. The way they healed something in eachother and were so encouraging of eachothers journeys was so touchingly beautiful.
I don’t want to spoil anything but i’d definitely look up trigger warnings as this book does deal with some serious topics — I will say though, i absolutely love and appreciate the delicacy portrayed in Bailey’s writing. She handled serious and sometimes controversial topics in such a respectful open manner and this solidified my love for her.
Tattered Tides comes out May 5th, please add this to your tbr it’s such a beautiful book about growth and healing and I truly think everyone should read! 💌
(thankyou NetGalley and Sarah A. Bailey for this advanced copy! - truly so grateful to renter this world ⭐️)
Omg I went into this completely blind (no surprise there) and was so excited to realize this follows the second generation of the Honeysuckle series.
Willow is Leo and Darby’s daughter from Heathen & Honeysuckle, and Weston is fresh out of jail trying to build a better future for himself. When he gets the chance to train under Leo, that’s where he meets Willow and everything unfolds from there. Both of them carry a lot: his past and her trauma, but watching them find healing in each other was really beautiful.
The spice was written in such a tasteful, emotional way, which I really appreciated. It added to their connection instead of taking away from it.
I’m honestly so excited to go back and finish the first series now!
That said, this book does cover some heavy topics, so definitely check the trigger warnings beforehand.
Quote: “Willow Graham fucking owns me. All I want is to sink into her embrace and let her heal every wound I never believed could stop bleeding.”
“This one is different. This one is forever.”
Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for letting me read this ARC.
My first introduction to Tattered Tides by Sarah A. Bailey has me so excited to dive back and read her Pacific Shores series. I absolutely loved the subtle nods to the surfing world and it added such a unique and immersive layer to the story.
This book is devastatingly beautiful. The connection between the two main characters, built through their individual traumas, felt raw and authentic. Watching them learn to trust, not only each other but themselves while navigating their own battles made their relationship all the more powerful.
I truly adored Weston. After everything he’s been through, the way he shows up for Willow and becomes her safe place completely melted me. Their emotional journey, and the way they slowly open up to one another, pulled me deeper into the story with every chapter.
The hook at the beginning was instantly captivating and had me turning pages nonstop. As their layers unraveled, I found myself fully invested in both of their stories and their healing.
And I already need more and Sarah is clearly setting things up for Archer and Allie, and I cannot wait to see where their story goes next!
Just perfection! Sarah A Bailey has the amazing ability of writing with the perfect amount of emotional depth and incredible love stories with light hearted moments mixed in. I fell for Weston and Willow instantly. They both have trauma they are healing from but they help each other in such a beautiful way. Weston has recently been released from prison and is looking for direction in his life. His parents are friends with world renowned surfer, Leo Graham and he offers to coach Weston for the summer. When Wes meets Leo’s daughter, Willow, he is instantly drawn to her. They form a connection that is so sweet, I just loved them so much. Willow has recently moved home from school and is trying to heal herself. Wes and Willow help put each other back together. This book will forever be a favorite book. I don’t think I will be over them anytime soon.
Thank you Sarah A Bailey and Page & Vine for the arc!
Releasing 5/5! Read if you love: ✨forbidden ✨coach’s daughter ✨second gen ✨good girl x bad boy ✨forced proximity ✨surfing romance
Absolutely incredible. The amount of highlights I have is the most I have ever had in a book, hands down. My love for Weston and Willow is truly unmatched.
This story is so unbelievably beautiful, real and raw. I will never be over it. Ever.
Wes and Willow are both trying to overcome unthinkable circumstances and the way that they truly help to heal one another in the most emotional and beautiful way is like unlike anything I’ve read. Sarah’s writing is honestly like poetry and it makes my heart so happy. Everytime I read something by her I am in awe and this book was no exception.
I am changed after this book. My brain chemistry is altered. Weston has my heart and I’m not sure I’ll ever get it back. 😭
What to expect: Coach's Daughter Sports (Surfing) Romance Small Town Romance Good Girl x "Bad" Boy Inexperienced MMC Hurt/Comfort Friends to Lovers
This story was truly incredible, the way Sarah writes such meaningful heartfelt stories leaves me feeling all sorts of emotions. Honestly she has become one of my favourite authors. Tattered Tides does cover some heavy adult themes so it is recommended for those over 18 so please check the trigger warnings before reading.
I truly adored both Willow and Weston especially with Weston’s past and the trauma Willow faces. The way they supported each other was a joy to read and Leo as a dad was perfection. As this is a second generation book I loved reading about all the characters we met in the Pacific Shores series. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and would highly recommend this one. I received a complementary copy from NetGalley.
The cover is what initially caught my eye, it’s stunning.
The setting of this book is exactly what I was looking for going in: surfing/small town/cozy vibes and it delivered. The large cast of friends and family truly shone in this book and I loved that aspect, no character felt out of place.
Willow & Weston’s relationship developed quickly but realistically for the situations they were in and I appreciated the care that was taken when talking about their traumas and how they handled such difficult circumstances. Weston was such a caring and compassionate man, but at times I found his dialog a bit fluffy and a bit unrealistic for who he was set up to be.
The end of the book focused heavily on their sexual chemistry and hookups which I know is a natural progression of their relationship but I felt like it was a tad over done. I preferred reading about their emotional connection because you truly got to see them grow.
I do wish Willows trauma was made clearer from the start as readers who may find it triggering might not know how heavily Willows story is impacted by it.
(Also the dedication was beautiful)
Overall, I was moved by Willow & Weston’s story and how they developed together, so if you are looking for a touching but heavy coastal small town romance, this is for you!
Sarah has such a poetic way of writing that touches the soul without being overly flowery. Weston and Willow’s story was truly beautiful and full of healing and heartbreak. They truly saw each other when both were broken and needed an escape. They provided the light for one another and a support system. I love the flow of their relationship, and the spice felt real and perfect at the same time.
Seeing the OG friend group all grown up with kids (and gray streaks???) was sentimental.
I am obsessed with the Pacific Shores series, and now to have a second gen series. My heart is so happy. I loved seeing some of my favorite couples as parents. I adored Weston and Willow, they were so sweet with each other and dealing with their own traumas. They really learned to lean on each other and were able to help each other heal. I loved Weston's protectiveness of Willow, and how understanding Willow was of Weston's needs too.
Thank you Netgalley and Sarah A. Bailey for the opportunity to read this early.
1000% obsessed with this book and these characters! Sometimes second gen can be a miss for so many, but Sarah killed it with this one and succeeded in all of my expectations and some. The emotional depth was perfectly done and made me fall in love with these characters even more. Sarah can truly do no wrong, and I can’t wait to see what comes next!!
Content-wise, I really wish the trigger warning had been clearer. The FMC’s sexual assault, pregnancy, and abortion aren’t just mentioned—they’re essentially the entire plot. I’m not someone who’s easily triggered, but I can absolutely see how this could be distressing for readers who’ve experienced similar trauma without knowing how central it would be.
As for the romance, it was sweet… but not always believable. The MMC speaks in very flowery, poetic language constantly. While it sounds romantic on paper, it didn’t feel realistic to me. I did like them together, though.
Chapter 30 being almost entirely a montage of them having sex in multiple locations was… a lot 😂 I don’t mind spice, but that felt excessive and unnecessary.
The final confrontation was predictable and lacked impact. Overall, not a bad read, but not a standout either.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
tattered tides truly felt like coming home. sarah brings us back to pacific shores with a new generation, and once again, she delivers a story that completely pulls you in and refuses to let go. there’s just something about her poetic writing that wraps around you so effortlessly, I get lost in it every single time.
willow graham, daughter of leo and darby, and weston ashford, the adopted son of carter and penelope. both carrying so much weight from their pasts, both trying to find their footing again in a place that holds history, pain, and maybe… healing. ❤️🩹
weston’s story hit me deeply. after everything he’s endured, the loss, the trauma and surfing becomes his escape, the one place where his mind quiets and his soul can breathe. there’s this constant pull to understand him, and the mystery surrounding his past had me completely hooked from the start.
“I’ve never had my insides twist and lock and expand at the sound of a laugh… like the very tides themselves are cresting and breaking and crashing inside my body at her command. like she’s the moon.”
willow, on the other hand, is coming back to pacific shores after leaving an abusive relationship, and she’s carrying so much with her. but what stood out to me immediately was her strength. her resilience. she has this fire in her that refuses to be dimmed, and I loved her for that.
the tension between them? EVERYTHING. the coach’s daughter and the so called “bad boy” who’s still trying to figure himself out, it was the perfect mix of soft and intense, of comfort and ache. the slow build, the quiet moments, the way they start to see each other so clearly… it was so beautifully done.
“you’re everything.” “you’re everything too.”
“don’t need the stars… whole universe is staring directly at me right now.”
there are so many emotions packed into this story. I felt it all. the ache, the hope, the softness, the longing. I laughed, I swooned, and I genuinely felt these characters every step of the way.
“you’re like the sun shining through the window. your presence creates color. you’re the art. to me.”
and that line… four squeezes. you’re. safe. with. me. yeah… that one stayed with me. ♥︎
overall, tattered tides is a story about love, healing, and finding your way back to yourself through someone who truly sees you. willow and weston don’t fix each other, they understand each other. they meet in the middle of their broken pieces and build something real, something steady, something earned.
“I want to love you in a way that’s as rare and ethereal as I find you… a kind of love curated and endlessly existing with your soul in mind.”
this wasn’t just a romance, it was a reminder that even after everything, there’s still softness waiting for you. and that kind of love? the kind built on trust, patience, and deep understanding? it’s always worth it.
thank you to netgalley, page and vine, and sarah bailey for this arc in exchange of an honest review, I am forever grateful! ♥︎
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ALC. 💕
I was anticipating reading this book, but it just didn’t work for me. There were some moments here and there that I enjoyed, but overall this book was just not what I expected.
It was a bit too long, underdeveloped, and I wasn’t that invested. I was anticipating this book to be over. One of my biggest issues was the romance. It leaned heavily into insta-love, and it was difficult for me to fully connect with Wes and Willow. I wanted more buildup between them, and more emotional depth.
I did really like Wes as a character, and I found his story more compelling. I just wish we had gotten deeper character growth for both him and Willow. Considering everything they had gone through, I especially would have liked to see them healing with therapy, instead of everything being wrapped up too neatly.
There were scenes that felt unnecessary. One chapter in particular focused entirely on spice. I would have preferred more emotional connection over physical scenes.
As for the audiobook, it was a mixed experience for me. The narrator for Wes sounded much older than I imagined for the character, which made it hard to connect to the story. Willow’s narrator had a good narration overall, but I didn’t enjoy how she voiced other characters. This book should have been a duet narration rather than dual narration.
Overall, this wasn’t a terrible book. If you enjoy small-town/coastal town romance and healing through love, and you may enjoy this book more than I did, so don’t be discouraged. this may still be worth picking up.
I always say this but it is ALWAYS the books you least expect that end up being 5 star reads! I totally picked this book because of its beautiful cover but I also have been wanting to pick up a Sarah A. Bailey book for months now. Which I’m so happy I finally did because this book was just what my heart and soul needed! My only regret was not reading the Pacific Shore series first because I later found out that Celestia Cove is second gen. I cannot wait to go back and read about Leo Graham!!!
From the start, Willow and Weston were both navigating trauma. I can’t begin to describe how their connection made me feel. They just connected so quickly and understood each other’s pain so easily that their friendship to relationship transpired effortlessly. I think about them and see two halves of the same heart. I didn’t have to root for them because they were inevitable. Their connection was that powerful. Not perfect but exactly what each other needed. My heart hurts but in the best way knowing that they found a safe haven in each other.
Not only was Willow a strong FMC but Weston… what a sweetie pie of a man and definitely written by a woman! They loved so deeply and were extremely gentle to each other, it makes me both cry and swoon. No third act break up either so thank you Sarah A. Bailey! I can’t wait to get into the Pacific Shores world, just in time for warmer weather :)
