Dead to their pasts. Ghosts. No family ties. No connections. Six men with a top-secret mission move to a small town where they have to navigate local life, protect their secret, and, above all, stay single.
Alex "Ghost" Bishop doesn't let people in. Not after a childhood spent isolated and alone, forced to survive on his own terms. Trust is a weapon that can be turned against you, and love is a distraction he can't afford. His team is everything. Everyone else is a risk.
So when FBI agent Diana Corbin pushes her way into his operation, he resents every moment of it—even when he can't stop thinking about her.
Diana learned the hard way that trust is dangerous. The people you believe will protect you can destroy you instead. She's built her life on proving herself, on never needing anyone, on keeping the world at a careful distance. She doesn't have time for a man who makes her want things she can't have.
But when they find each other undercover in an operation neither should be running, something shifts. Working together becomes inevitable. The denial becomes harder to maintain. And the pull between them—electric, indisputable, terrifying—won't be ignored.
As the mission spirals into danger and their secrets threaten to unravel everything, Alex and Diana discover that sometimes the only person you can trust is the one person you swore you never would. And that love isn't a weakness—it's the only thing that might save them.
A small town, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, military protector romance from NYT bestselling author Lynn Raye Harris. >/b>
Lynn Raye Harris is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sizzling military romantic suspense novels and contemporary romance novels. She lives in Alabama with her husband (former military), her cat, and her American Saddlebred horse.
This is the 6th book in this awesome series, and this is Diana and Alex / Ghost’s story. Ghost has a tough upbringing, and does no trust easily, and is an undercover black ops soldier, while Diana has spent her life proving herself, and is now an FBI agent. When Ghost and his men are on a secret mission, he is not happy when an FBI agent keeps pushing her way into his operatives. Ghost and Diana cross paths again when they are both undercover, which was unknown to each other. This is a well written easy to read, action packed story, with tension, danger, suspense, intrigue, trust issues, secrets, challenges, forced proximity, enemies / lovers, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable small-town romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Diana, she might come from wealth, that environment may have been dazzling but it lacked love.
She worked hard for her position as an FBI agent, and she might have used her connections to be a part of the Ghost Ops mission, but she definitely had her reasons.
Alex, is one of six highly trained operatives. He and his friends are ghosts. With one mission, to protect their country. To do this they are disguised as former military operatives starting over as civilians.
His home life was well, until his father changed and isolated them. Those years were absolutely hard for him. But it also left him with a lot of "what if's". It's one of the reason he worked for were he is today. He will fight to protect his country and protect his loved ones.
His team, is his family. And he will do everything he possibly can to ensure their happiness. Even if it means solving the case on his own.
Alex and Diana, there were endgame from book one. The tension and chemistry was so hot and when it finally snapped. It was explosive. Diana was a strong as hell female lead, and Alex was absolutely perfect for her. I loved how they fell for each other.
The suspense kept me on edge. And I loved how everything came together.
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Loved catching up with the previous characters ♥️
Alex is the sixth, and final, book in the Ghost Ops series and follows fearless leader Alex "Ghost" Bishop as he falls for FBI Agent Diana Corbin while on an off the books mission.
Alex has a storied history. When he was nine, his father moved the family to Alaska. He had no idea at such a young age what was in store for him or what his father had planned. His mother passed away when he was 14 and a year later a nice older couple adopted him. They helped him catch up on school work, which he excelled at. He was able to get in to West Point and then he made the Army his career.
Diana Corbin nee Adler was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, or so everyone thinks. Little do they know that although she was born into money, that does not mean she was born into love and nurturing. Growing up she was never cuddled or hugged, except by the nanny/housekeeper. She knew what was expected of her and she did it willingly until one night changed her entire life. A night she has never told anyone about.
When Diana first entered the scene, back in Blaze, book 1, she was not a welcome sight. She still is not overly welcome by the men of One Shot Tactical. She has forced her way into their mission. Her and Alex butt heads constantly about her jurisdiction and methods. And they both hate when the other withholds information, leaving them in some precarious situations.
Throughout this series, the guys have used Diana for information and she has used them and their expertise for information as well. Although there is no love between any of them, they each gain something from the other.
But when Diana needs Alex, in more ways than one, he is there for her. Even if his guys are not happy about it.
This book is bittersweet. It is the end of the series. Am I happy about that? Yes. But I am also sad about it. I have come to love these men and women. Will we see them again? Most likely. It seems no one ever really gets away from HOT.
I loved seeing General Mendez in this story. He has been missing in previous books in this series, so it was a reminder that he and Ghost respect each other and are more than military men. They are friends.
Diana's story makes me sad, but also makes me believe. In what, you ask? Well everything. She was brought up in a well to do house but it was lacking love and touch. After what happened to her in college, her ability to move on and deal with the mental fallout is truly impressive. For her to go against her family wishes, somewhat change her name, and make her own way through the FBI is a testament to her strength and determination. This woman has survived things a woman should never have to face, let alone survive. So Diana, you make me want to be like you. Strong, determined, loved. You deserve it, no matter what anyone says.
The story opens with Diana’s past, revealing the reason behind her determination to pursue Alex’s team’s target. Her motivation is deeply personal—she wants revenge, and she’s willing to chase it relentlessly.
Since the first book, Alex and Diana have been circling each other. They’re supposed to be enemies, constantly hostile and at odds. When Diana arrives in Alex’s small town, his reaction is unexpectedly rude. She’s simply sitting quietly, minding her own business, when Alex lashes out. It’s hard not to feel for her in that moment. It seems clear that Alex’s hostility stems from his attraction to Diana—something he can ignore when she’s not around, but struggles to control when she is.
Their paths cross again when Diana attends an extremist meeting to gather information. Alex is already there and ends up rescuing her. To avoid suspicion, he claims that Diana is his on-again, off-again romantic partner.
Their partnership begins with mutual distrust, but the shift to a physical relationship happens very quickly. While Alex’s feelings deepen, Diana remains focused on her revenge, even as she takes advantage of the situation. However, the intensity of their attraction becomes repetitive, and the dynamic starts to feel stale.
One of my main issues with the book is the amount of sexual content. Given the high-stakes tension of the story, it often feels unnecessary and excessive. It’s also hard to believe how quickly these developments occur, especially considering Diana’s traumatic past.
I was also disappointed in Diana’s portrayal. She’s introduced as a skilled, formidable warrior, yet she frequently comes across as fragile and easily overwhelmed. While it’s understandable that the author wants to highlight the capabilities of military men compared to an FBI field officer, I still expected to see more of Diana’s strength and competence.
Overall, the book delivers solid suspense, but the excessive focus on sex detracts from it. Additionally, Diana’s journey from trauma to healing isn’t explored in enough depth, leaving the story feeling somewhat incomplete.
Did you hear that? That’s the sound of the last man standing in the Ghost Ops team—the leader himself, Alex “Ghost” Bishop—falling hard.
Totally blindsided him.
And the kicker? She annoys the hell out of him.
Yet he can’t stop thinking about her—and not just all the deliciously wicked things he wants to do to her.
Is she sleeping? Eating? Taking care of herself?
Yeah… this man is gone.
And Diana Corbin (Alder), FBI Station Director?
She’s a force of nature—a full-on Great White shark in a power suit.
And she hates Alex Bishop.
To her, he’s arrogant, overbearing, and just a little too comfortable throwing his weight around.
Not her type at all. …Or is he exactly what she needs?
With the sixth and final installment of her Ghost Ops series, Lynn Raye Harris delivers one of the most satisfying enemies-to-lovers stories I’ve read in a long time. The loneliness these two carry—the quiet ache of believing love isn’t meant for them—hits hard. It’s raw, it’s real, and yeah… it broke my heart.
And then—
In a heartbeat, she shocks it back to life. Watching these two alpha leaders finally crash through their emotional walls?
Explosive. Unstoppable. A freight train couldn’t have slowed them down.
And let’s be honest—Harris absolutely turns up the heat here. 🔥
Of course, this isn’t just romance—it’s Ghost Ops. There’s another mission, and this time Alex and Diana go completely off-book. The twists hit fast and hard, leaving even them scrambling. It’s edge-of-your-seat, breath-holding, don’t-you-dare-stop-reading suspense until the team comes charging in.
And that ending?
I should’ve trusted Harris. She ties up every thread with precision… and just when you think you’re safe—there’s one last little twist waiting. No spoilers, but between the finale and that bonus epilogue? Worth every second.
And Angel Cove?
Oh yes… something new is coming. A familiar group stepping up, building something of their own—and if it’s anything like Ghost Ops, we are in for one hell of a ride.
Because even the most untouchable ghost can’t outrun the one mission that matters most—love.
Ghost may be able to appear and disappear with no one being the wiser but since moving to this small Alabama town he feels like he and his men are walking around with targets on his back. Diana can and does clomp all over every last nerve ending he has and I'm pretty sure that the guys are taking bets on who unalives who first!
Alex has always been the glue that held the team together but he's gone a tad rogue and as the Athena Project nears completion, he worries about the fate of his men, their loves and the town in general. Diana was born with a silver spoon in her mouth but that didn't protect her from one of the worst kinds of predator. It's hardened her heart, made her hard to connect to and she can fly off the handle at the worst times.
We could all see the explosive chemistry - it was just a matter of where and when and they did not disappoint! When they finally let down those shields, all whilst telling themselves and each other, that they still hated each other, the smexy times were HAWT. Alex is a man who knows what he wants, what his partner needs and when he goes on a mission - well let's just say Diana is a very satisfied woman!
Diana can be hard to like occasionally, even whilst having the deepest sympathy for what she has been through. Alex is prone to being over protective but he does it without being patronising or diminishing Diana in anyway. Watching them have to work together and infiltrate the militia group was interesting viewing I must say. Learning more of Ghost's backstory was really informative and filled in so many gaps in his personality.
There are many twists in this final book in the series and there are stupendous betrayals and unlikely allies to jumble the investigation. The wrap up of the Athena Project made me angry and weepy for everything the team had been put through. There is a sneaky peek at the next set of characters to grab their stories and I'm excited how the story will unfold to bring them into the world.
TW: SA of FMC in the past, childhood trauma, kidnapping, torture
Best for last I read the entire Ghost Ops series, and I can honestly say this one stands out as the best.
The story itself pulls you in right away. Every moment made me want to turn to the next page. I was hooked on how real everything felt.
The chemistry between Diana and Alex is seriously hot. The tension between them practically crackles off the page, and when it finally breaks, it’s intense in the best way. Their scenes are confident, passionate, and charged with emotion—this isn’t just physical, it’s magnetic. Alex brings a commanding presence that pairs perfectly with Diana’s vulnerability, and together they create moments that are both steamy and deeply addictive. You feel the build, the pull, and the payoff—and it absolutely delivers.
On top of all that, the thriller side of the story is seriously compelling. There’s a steady tension running underneath everything that keeps you turning pages, and it all comes together in a really satisfying way. Loose ends are tied up without feeling rushed, which is always a win, especially in a series like this.
Alex Bishop is strong without being over-the-top, protective without feeling controlling, and there’s a quiet steadiness to him that makes every scene he’s in feel more real. He doesn’t need big, dramatic moments to prove who he is—you see it in the way he shows up, in what he says (and sometimes what he doesn’t). He’s the kind of character that sticks with you after you finish the book.
Diana is not perfect, and that’s exactly what makes her so relatable. Her struggles, her hesitation, the way she holds parts of herself back—it all felt honest. Watching her slowly open up and start to trust again was one of the most satisfying parts of the book.
And just when you think you’re done, there’s a subtle hint at what’s coming next with Angel’s Cove—and now I’m already looking forward to that series.
Review: Alex (HOT Ghost Ops, Book 6) by Lynn Raye Harris For longtime readers of Lynn Raye Harris’s HOT series, Alex feels like the moment we’ve been waiting for—years of missions, heat, and heartbreak all leading to this much-anticipated story of Alex “Ghost” Bishop. Throughout the series, Alex has always been the dependable one: the calm in the storm, the steady hand every teammate could trust when the world exploded around them. Watching him finally take center stage is both rewarding and deeply satisfying. What makes Alex stand out is how Harris blends action and intimacy with equal power. After walking away from his career with HOT, Alex finds himself in a quiet small town, but peace doesn’t come easy—especially not when he meets a sharp, spirited FBI agent who challenges him at every turn. Their chemistry sparks immediately, full of snark, banter, and that irresistible “I don’t like you (but I really do)” energy that Harris writes so well. As the danger builds and their walls come down, those fiery exchanges evolve into something deeper—love forged through trust, vulnerability, and a fair bit of chaos. The pacing is tight, the emotional payoff well-earned, and the romance perfectly balanced with suspense. Harris knows how to deliver adrenaline and heart in equal measure, and in Alex, she does it beautifully. As the final Ghost Ops book, there’s a bittersweet quality to closing this chapter. The team’s stories have intertwined for years, and seeing them find their happily-ever-afters makes saying goodbye that much harder. Still, Alex ends the series on exactly the right note—honoring the camaraderie, passion, and resilience that made the HOT world so addictive from the very beginning. A must-read finale for fans who’ve followed this journey from the start.
What a great end to this series! If you have been reading the other books in this series, you will be well aware of Alex and Diana and how they’ve been circling each other for a few books. Alex - or “Ghost” as he’s known – is the leader of the Ghost Ops team that has been sent to Alabama to protect a secret project from outside influences. You may know him from other HOT books, but I loved seeing a book just about him and learning more about his background! Just so you know, you won’t be lost if you haven’t read the other HOT books, and while I recommend reading this series in order just to get the overall story, Lynn does a good job incorporating the relevant facts into this story from the other books so you won’t be lost even if this is where you start (but I highly recommend you read all the books in the series!)
Diana, as you may know, is an FBI agent who is well-connected, and used those connections to horn in on the team’s project. You learn at the beginning of this book what drove her to wanting to be involved in the Ghost Ops mission. In this book, she moves into an apartment in Sutton Creek because she enjoys the town. What follows are fireworks between her and Alex when they finally give into what has been brewing for a few books. Add in Ghost trying to be noble about things with his team and Diana’s drive to continue an investigation ended by the FBI on her own and you have a suspenseful and wonderful story with several twists that you never see coming.
I am sad that this is the last book in the series, but happy to see the glimpse of where the next series will go. Overall, this might be my favorite book in this series and it was so good to see Ghost get his story after all this time. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This is my true and honest opinion.
The finale of the Ghost ops series is one that is not to be missed for readers of this or any other romance suspense series. Lynn Raye Harris has gone above and beyond with drama, sensuality, and passion as she brings together two people that on paper should never work but ultimately are the perfect lovers. Alex “Ghost” Bishop has been leading his men on their final mission, trying to keep them all on task, but they’ve each slowly lost their minds and hearts to the women in their new hometown and he won’t risk them losing their new future. Diana Corbin has been a thorn in his side from the moment she arrives flashing her badge, but she has her own agenda and when they continue to cross paths, Diana and Alex are forced to work together on their missions if they hope to succeed. But the more time they spend together as “lovers” the more they find resisting the need and chemistry between them impossible, and soon they are not only burning up the sheets, but also losing their hearts to one another. I loved seeing Ghost finally accepting Diana’s help and seeing her for the partner and mate that she wanted to be from the beginning, even if she thought Alex was an arrogant prick in the beginning. Diana was such a complex and beautiful character to get to know and see her come to trust and lean on Alex and his friends, trusting them implicitly and never losing faith in him. I must say I was not expecting this ending at ALL, but I loved it and I am very much looking forward to the coming spin-off and seeing more of all of the Ghost-Ops team as they settle into their new lives and marry their lovers. Harris never let me down and being able to read her story and have that calm in the storm right now was extremely welcome.
This was such an immensely satisfying ending to this series. Absolute perfection.
I have been waiting for Alex “Ghost” Bishop’s book for approximately three years and forty books. He has been popping up since the very beginning of the HOT books and we really got to see his worth during everything that went on with Mendez.
Seeing him direct the Ghost Ops team was inspired. And seeing him and Diana dance around each other the whole series was basically five books of foreplay.
This was probably the SPICIEST book I’ve read of any of Harris’ HOT books and its offshoots. Some of the SEAL team books were extra smutty (looking at you HOT SEAL Hero), and I’ve been missing that level of spice in her books recently. Alex’s book delivered. These two couldn’t keep their hands off each other for a second.
I also really appreciated how freaking capable and badass Diana was while still also having a soft side. She busted Alex’s balls constantly and always challenged him but that didn’t stop him from wanting to protect and pamper her. And he did it without being a condescending jerk (usually.)
I like that we got to see Ghost’s inner monologue. So much of him has been a mystery for so long, it was nice to see where he got his reserved nature. Even in the other HOT books he always came off as cool and controlled and secretive. The entire Ghost Op series has been such a great window into his personality.
I am so happy with how the ending turned out, so happy with Alex and Diana, and so happy I got to be a part of the process of this series, if only in a small way.
Harris has already told us what’s up next and, frankly, I’m already ready for it.
I’ve been waiting for this one since book one—and it was absolutely worth it.
Alex and Diana have been circling each other from the very beginning of the series, never quite getting along, always clashing, always pushing each other’s buttons. That tension? It’s been building for six books. And when it finally breaks here… it’s everything I hoped for.
I ended up staying up until 1 a.m. because there was no way I was putting this down.
Alex “Ghost” Bishop is exactly the kind of hero you expect—guarded, controlled, and completely closed off after a lifetime of having to rely only on himself. His team is his world, and anything outside of that is a threat. Especially someone like Diana.
Diana Corbin is just as strong-willed and just as wary of trust. She’s spent her life proving she doesn’t need anyone, and she’s not about to start with a man who challenges her at every turn. Their dynamic has always been friction-filled, and this book leans into that history in the best way.
The chemistry is intense, emotional, and completely believable. Watching them fight their feelings—while also learning to trust each other —gives this story a depth that really hits.
The small-town setting adds that perfect layer of closeness, and the suspense keeps the pace moving, but it’s the emotional payoff that makes this one stand out. After so many books of buildup, Alex and Diana finally facing what’s between them feels earned in every way.
Final verdict: Completely addictive, emotionally charged, and impossible to put down. Just don’t expect to get much sleep once you start.
I just loved this book - it was a great mix of action, tension, and romance, and honestly just a really satisfying read.
Alex (Ghost) is one of those characters who seems completely closed off at first, but as you get into his story, you start to understand why. Watching him slowly open up - especially because of Diana - was one of the best parts of the book. Their dynamic is really fun too. They don’t exactly get along at first, but that tension just makes everything more interesting.
Diana ended up being a standout for me. At the beginning, she comes off a little intense, but as you learn more about her past and what she’s been through, it really changes how you see her. She’s strong, determined, and honestly a great match for Alex.
The story has a good balance of action and romance. There’s a lot going on with the mission, secrets, and danger, so it never feels slow. But at the same time, the relationship between Alex and Diana builds in a way that feels believable and not rushed.
The chemistry between them is definitely there too. It kind of goes from frustration to something much deeper, which makes it fun to follow. And when things finally come together, it’s totally worth the wait.
The ending was really strong and wrapped everything up in a way that felt complete. You can tell this is the end of a bigger story, and it does a great job giving that “final chapter” feeling without being disappointing.
Overall, if you like enemies-to-lovers, military romance, and a good amount of action mixed in, this is definitely worth reading.
The final book in the Sutton’s Creek Ghost Ops series…and what an ending. Alex aka Ghost, and Diana, an FBI agent, have been circling each other since they first met, a hate hate relationship…until it’s not. When Diana inserts herself into an investigation by going undercover alone, the last person she expects to see is Alex, who also happens to be undercover…alone. To keep their cover and an eye on the other, they become “involved” and everyone around them can’t know the truth. Somewhere along the way the lines get blurred, they actually enjoy being with each other and actually open up. Alex is not a hard a## and Diana is not an uptight princess and both trust the other to have their back instead of stabbing it. The closer they get into their investigation, the closer the danger comes for one of them. Oh my my my my….spicy, steamy, and explosive between these two….oh my my my…hate to love and so so good. The more I learnt about Diana, the more I fell in love with her…strong, capable, and believe it or not, has feelings and with Alex by her side, giving her a safe space to be herself….sigh and swoon. The story flowed beautifully with descriptions that were spot on, suspense, surprises and twists and turns I did not see coming and a bittersweet ending, knowing this is the last book. I didn’t want to stop reading about all the men and women of the Ghost Ops series….Loved Alex and Diana!!!!!
Alex (Ghost Ops #6) by Lynn Raye Harris is a romantic-suspense novel that blends military action with an emotionally driven love story. The book follows Alex “Ghost” Bishop, one of the most mysterious members of the Ghost Ops team—a group of former elite soldiers living quietly in a small town while secretly investigating dangerous threats. The story balances undercover missions, tense investigations, and a slow-building romance, making it both action-packed and character-focused.
Alex is a highly skilled operative who keeps his emotions tightly controlled. His past forced him to grow up isolated and self-reliant, so he struggles to trust anyone—even his teammates. Throughout the story, readers see the layers behind his quiet, guarded personality and why he prefers to stay in the shadows rather than let people get close.
The main female lead, Diana Corbin, is a determined FBI agent who becomes involved in the same case as Alex. She’s intelligent, independent, and equally cautious about trusting others. Their relationship starts with tension and professional skepticism, but their shared sense of duty and growing respect slowly create a strong connection.
Overall, the book mixes suspense, teamwork, and emotional development. It’s especially satisfying for readers who enjoy protective military heroes and stories about guarded characters learning to trust. Fans of the Ghost Ops series also get to see the whole team again, adding a strong “found-family” dynamic to the story.
Alex and Diana finally get their story, and it absolutely delivers. The buildup across the series is clearly reaching its climax, and this installment does a great job of bringing everything together. Watching them find each other while navigating missions that ultimately intersect added both emotional depth and high-stakes tension.
Both characters carry significant trauma, and I appreciated that their vulnerability didn’t come instantly…it developed naturally after trust and respect were established. That made their connection feel real and earned.
The danger in this book is layered and compelling, from international threats to domestic militia involvement, along with betrayal from within the ranks. It kept me hooked the entire time. And that ending? Completely unexpected and genuinely shocking, especially with the revelations and background information the team never saw coming.
I also loved how some of the lingering mysteries, like the strange occurrences in town and even the “alien lights”, were finally explained. The introduction of a few new characters has me excited for what could be a future spin-off series.
Overall, this was an enjoyable and satisfying installment with strong characters and great relationship development. I especially loved how Alex and Diana communicated about their actions, motivations, and who they are at their core. Definitely a standout in the series!
I really hate to see an excellent series end! Alex, Ghost, has been a person who we didn't know a lot about throughout HOT and Ghost Ops, we finally get a peak into the very private man we have come to love. Add Diana, who was also very much an ice princess, and the couple has been a mystery we all wanted to delve into their lives. We watched them dance around each other through this series and boy, when they decide to give in, thanks to needing cover for being in the woods, they are feral for each other, like HOT, steamy, feral for each other. It was delightful and such a change for two people so held back by their pasts. They embark on their private mission, with each other their backup, and present their relationship, saying it was fake to themselves, even though they knew otherwise. As they try to fool Ghost's team, we see inside his gruffness with Daphne and how is caves to her will. But, he underestimates his team and they are there for them when it counts, just as all of them were for each other in all the books. Alex's care for his team and their women, his anguish about his past, trying to keep the Athena project safe, and trying to pretend he doesn't care for Diana was divine. Such a great read and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did because I never write a review this long! 10 stars!
The Ghost Ops final book is here, and though I for one am sad to see it end, the conclusion to a year long mission is fantastically wrapped up by Lynn Raye Harris. Alex is the man in charge always, before getting to Sutton’s Creek he could be halfway around the world from the mission but now he is on the front lines and willing to sacrifice everything for his country and most of all, his team. A loner in many ways Alex has found a family in the men he works with, and the women they love, and he is ready to make sure they all get their happily ever after, not caring if he gets one himself. His plan is fairly simple, until it’s not when a certain FBI agent who rattles him, in more ways than one, shows up unexpectedly. What starts as Alex saving those around him turns into a complicated plan involving teamwork with Diana, the woman he never expected to trust. As they work towards their shared goal, the unbelievable happens, they both discover a respect, passion and eventually love, they never thought possible. A perfect ending to the Ghost Ops series where all readers, new found fans and dedicated followers alike, with be left with all the answers, a surprise or two, an idea of what the future looks like for this family created through loyalty, love and dedication.
It’s going to sound crazy to some but once Ghost was introduced I wanted his book more than Ian’s story. I know, that’s almost blasphemy. There’d be mentions of him here and there but he remained a mystery. We got more than a few formal orders to his men with Mendez’s book and I thought any day now. Someone mentioned he was across the bar at their usual hangout and with another woman? Skank. I love he got to lead his own group of men for a series and in an area of the country I know well and could easily picture. It’s been a looong and delightful ride to finally have Alex’s book in my hands and with the most satisfying of HEAs. (Soon, Shade, soon)
I loved the interactions between Alex and Daphne. Sometimes she has him wrapped around her finger more than Diana.
I’m excited about the next series and it being across the river and hopefully we’ll see old faces with the new. And *chef’s kiss* how Lynn has brought something from a past storyline, including the very one where Alex stepped up for Mendez, back around for it. There’s also a nice twist at the end in this one and I hope it segues into the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The story was worth waiting for. Alex aka Ghost has always been a interesting secondary character in the Hot series. He decided to give it all up to do the right thing for his country. As he and his team settle in a Sutton Creek they keep butting heads with FBI agent Diana Corbin. Diana is very determined to figure out why the Ghost Ops team is in Alabama and what they are working on. She has gotten involved enough times that the team is never happy to see her coming. When Alex and Diana find themselves at the same militia meeting and Diana is up against 4 men who have a revenge on their mind due to Diana humiliating one, Alex steps in. Because he knows that she will get herself in trouble and possibly blow this opportunity he fakes that they are together and the sparks are red hot. Once they act on their attraction they decide to go all in for the project they are working on. Once this was decided Alex makes sure that she is brought into his world to include the women of the Ghost Op men. When Diana is taken and held Alex will burn down the world to get her back. This is a great ending to the series and i hope to see these men and their partner in other stories.
Since Col. Alex ‘Ghost’ Bishop and Diana Corbin first squared off over the Athena Project investigation at the beginning of this series and they developed an instant mutual dislike for each other. I’ve been waiting to see them together. These two are both used to being in control and are very much alike.
Their ‘I don’t like you’ attitudes doesn’t keep them from a wildly passionate fling that is supposed to be their cover while trying to infiltrate the militia seeking to get control of the Athena Project. I enjoyed how Diana is accepted by the woman dating Alex’s men, and the reactions his men have to learning he is involved with Diana after their previous skirmishes with her.
A majority to the book is focused on Alex & Diana’s relationship and Diana’s acceptance with the group. The suspenseful action typical in Lynn’s books is limited to the last 30% of the book. While I have always loved the fast-paced action and suspense of her books, it was enjoyable to spend more time with these couples in Sutton Creek as this series wraps up.
I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
Alex (Ghost Ops #6) is the final book in the Ghost Ops series, and the one I've wanted from the very first moment I heard about the series.
The Ghost Ops series is one of the best ever from Lynn Raye Harris, and I've loved each and everyone of her military romantic suspense books. I don't want to post any spoilers, as I want other readers to learn everything as they read this story themselves.
The suspense is very strong in this book, and the series as a whole. Yes, Viktor Dashevsky was known to be a huge part of the story, but we didn't know exatly how it all would play out.
Alex and Diana's relationship gave me all the happy feels. OMG they had the most smoking hot chemisty, and I loved every moment of their relationship, as it spanned the entire series. I've loved all the couples in this series, but there was just something about Alex and Diana's romance, that just had me wanting more from the very beginning.
Lynn Raye Harris gave fans of romantic suspense a fantastic story with Alex, and it was the perfect wrap up to the Ghost Ops series. I loved all the books in this series, but Alex had an extra special place in my heart.
Lynn saved the best story for the end of this great series! First, I didn’t like this story, I absolutely loved this story! I think we’ve all been waiting for Ghost’s story, and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed with it at all. Diana and Alex have been circling each other for a while now and when these two get together, it is explosive! Alex and Diana worked perfectly together, once Alex lets his guard down and lets her help him with his assignment. These two are both such strong people, but sometimes even strong people need a strong partner and that’s exactly what these two were for each other. I loved how Alex made Diana feel protected and safe without holding her back. These two cracked me up sometimes with their banter and how they were always telling each other how they don't like the other and then the other would say it back to them. It was clear to see that they did in fact like each other. Then when Diana calls Alex Magic Man….Loved it!! This was such a great story and I’m sad to see it come to an end, but this was the perfect ending to this series.
I had been waiting for Alex's (Ghost) story, and I was not disappointed. It seemed like Alex and Diana had been circling each other forever. Diana was tough, professional, intelligent and gave as good as she got. She and Alex found the other to be equally frustrating. Of course, over time they were able to give in to what was lying beneath the surface and recognized their vulnerabilities.
I really felt for Diana feeling so isolated and alone. She had some very understandable issues. I enjoyed the banter between Diana and Ghost as they grew closer. I loved the way he brought her into the Ghost Ops family fold.
One of the parts of the book I appreciated the most was the surprise about the op that brought the team to Alabama. The mystery, suspense, surprises, and subsequent action had some surprising elements and was well worth the wait, as was the team's HEA. I would have enjoyed an epilogue to see how Daphne pulled that all together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Alex and his team are in AL protecting the Athena project. With every invention, seemingly there are always others that want to get their hands on it. Alex and his team will not let that happen. Along the way, FBI Agent Diana has come along and her path crosses with Alex’s team. The people Alex is watching include a person Diana is interested in. But Alex doesn't want Diana anywhere near his mission. They don’t exactly get along.
Diana wants to try to get some answers. As she tries to make her way inside enemy territory she is shocked to find Alex. Seems both of them have some secrets. To explain their appearance, they go with a fake relationship. But they may tell themselves they are in a fake relationship but I don’t think they ever actually thought that. It was real from the beginning.
Such a good book and fascinating read. These are a lot of fun to read as there is never a dull moment. Full of energy, banter, chemistry, and excitement. Love these books! Thank you #GiveMeBooksPR
Lynn Raye Harris saved the best for last in this one! Alex (Ghost), the head of the Ghost Ops team has watched each of his teammates fall under the spell of love of their forever mates and the town, Sutter's Creek in this final book of the Ghost Ops series. He is determined not to succumb to either. And yet, FBI agent Diana pushes all his buttons to the point that they are combustible. And combust they do, spectacularly! As they work toward finished their op, despite government roadblocks, Diana is determined not to miss out on taking down her arch enemy and doesn't intend to let a pesky little thing like attraction to Alex and her boss sidelining her get in the way. When she is betrayed yet again and faces death, she and Alex realize that their feelings are more than the attraction they thought and fight for a future together, along with the team that has become family to both of them. I am looking forward to seeing more of this large, messy, loud family in Angel's Cove, Lynn Raye Harris's next series.
Alex resists what his brain is telling him, knowing what his heart is feeling, but he just can’t stop thinking of Diana. Diana, has been attracted to Alex for a very long time. She resents that Alex doesn’t trust her to keep her word or keep him in the loop of her investigation. Fun times.
I love the dance these two are doing, all the while operating very close on the same project. They can’t help but get to know, on a personal level, the details of the human side of each other, despite not liking each other.
I appreciate how Alex eventually recognizes Diana’s capability to take care of herself. She proves she is a well trained and intelligent woman having to work twice as hard in a male dominating occupation. She shows all of those involved that she is fully capable to do her job well without any help from the “relatives”.
A very exciting and suspenseful story. Filled with adventure, angst, and a lot of heat! I just loved how this story ended and can’t wait for the next series.
This was well worth the wait! I think Alex was my favorite in this series, and he and Diana were so great together!
Diana is a strong woman, dedicated to establishing a career in government without the help of her family now, who is prominent in the political scene. Because she was assaulted when she was younger, she’s dedicated to bringing down the man who harmed her. This means having to work with Alex, whom she’s always been attracted to, but who seems to resent her. Alex has a mission isn’t the small town, and he didn’t want Diana involved. He made lots of assumptions about her, but as he gets to know her, he finds out there were many things he was wrong about when it comes to Diana.
I was surprised that this book had more romance and spicy scenes than previous books. Both Alex and Diana seemed a little touch starved, so their relationship really started off physical. However, the time they spent together on a case and then learning about each other proved that they’re more alike and yearning for the same thing. I really enjoyed this one.
Alex “Ghost” Bishop and his men are on a secret mission in Alabama. They run ONE SHOT TACTICAL and are supposed to stay single and protect a secret weapon the government is building. Diana Corbin is a FBI agent and keeps pushing her way into Alex’s jobs. Both go undercover in a militia but don’t know until they run into each other. Diana is after a Russian who is an entrepreneur and a family friend. She has been after him for seven years after she is attacked. Alex and Diana pose as a couple but the chemistry between them is HOT. When Diana goes missing, Alex and the guys will stop at nothing to find her. This is the last in this series. I absolutely loved this story. Can’t wait for the next series. Small towns. Action. Very steamy. Both are loners and not very trusting. Alex had a rough childhood and Diana grew up wealthy but cold parents. Enemies to lovers. Military. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for the author.
This is a great addition to this series and makes me sorry to see this book be the end to this series.
In this last installment of the Ghost Ops series we finally get Alex, or also known as Ghost's story. He is a characters that faithful readers met in the HOT series and then branched off to this series. In this series he has spent his time undercover on a secret mission and this is before he crosses paths again with FBI agent Diana who is also undercover and inserts herself with his operatives any chance that she can get.
This is an action packed read that I enjoyed from start to finish. I was hooked on this story to see how the series would end. I will say that there was a lot going on with this series as it was suspenseful while being a forced proximity enemies to lovers read. Where I am sorry that this series has ended, I will admit that I am excited to see what Ms. Harris is going to write next!
