Rate this book
Over the course of two years, Jason Love visited more than 200 pizzerias in New Jersey, New York City, and Philadelphia. He visited pizzerias all throughout the alphabet - from A Slice of New York to Zorro's Pizza. Some of the pizzerias he visited include Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Brooklyn, NY Pizza Suprema in Manhattan, L & B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn, Pizzeria Vetri in Philadelphia, Tony's Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City, Papa's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville, New Jersey, and Kinchley's Tavern in Ramsey, New Jersey. He traveled from Bergen County to Cape May County in New Jersey. For New York City, he ventured into Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and The Bronx. And in Philadelphia, he went from North Philly to South Philly in search of the perfect slice of pizza.
Love also writes about how pizza originated in Naples, Italy and then made its way over to the United States. Today, the pizza industry generates billions of dollars in the United States. Despite the success of chain restaurants like Pizza Hut and Domino's, the backbone of the pizza business is local family-run pizzerias that maintain a loyal customer base. Everyone loves pizza and has their own favorite pizzeria. With this book, the reader will hopefully discover a few more places to visit for a slice of pizza and a soda with crushed ice. Mangiamo!

This book was awesome! I won this as a Goodreads Giveaway, and while I don't live on the East coast and haven't been back there in decades, I found this book really entertaining. Jason has a great writing style, writes like he's just having a conversation with you, and is quite funny. Thank you so much for the entertainment and a little bit of fun pizza history!
