Genevieve Steel FBI Mystery #3

The Daughter's Price

Rate this book
No ransom. No mercy.

FBI Special Agent Genevieve Steele knows all about monsters. After all, she was raised by one. So when six teens are abducted from an invitation-only rave, she realizes the villain she’s hunting isn’t just evil. They’re professional.

And lethal.

It begins with a frantic call from a girl who received a terrified message from her boyfriend just before he disappeared. Genevieve springs into action. But as the evidence mounts that the children—all with high-profile parents—have, indeed, been kidnapped, she faces an unexpected hurdle.

None of the parents will admit their kids are missing.

At first, Genevieve fears someone is forcing the families into silence. Until one caves, with horrifying results.

Soon it’s clear this is not a ransom case. It’s not a game. Not about money. It’s justice two decades in the making.

Twenty-two years ago, a crime was buried. A family was destroyed. And now someone is forcing the people responsible to answer for it—using their children as leverage.

With every hour that passes, another teenager edges closer to execution. And Genevieve must find a way to stop a reckoning that could expose government secrets and ignite an international crisis.

The Daughter’s Price is the terrifying third novel in the Genevieve Steel series—a brutal thriller about vengeance, legacy, and the terrible cost of sins passed from one generation to the next.

This excellent thriller has everything you long for in this genre. With Genevieve we plow through the kidnapping case of teenagers, full of horrific crime, fear, psychological drama and guessing why and who. I enjoyed this fast paced page turner. I felt like I boarded the fortified train, running through the impossible situations and not being able to get off. Very clever and twisty
Mary! your best so far. What I did not expect was to feel the suffocating fear (like at the end of Psycho), when the mother makes a comment . Is there more behind it? Oh my ! It blew my mind off. My poor Genie. My heart breaks for her. And of course, the new case is coming, def worse than the one that was just solved. Incredible build up and culmination. Thank you for messing up with my brain so brilliantly.

The Daughter’s Price by Mary Stone and Angela Kay is another gripping installment in this outstanding FBI series. The storyline is intense and unsettling, pulling prominent, wealthy, and politically connected families into a terror-filled journey when their teenage children are lured to a secret party with the promise of meeting celebrities and social media influencers.

As the investigation unfolds, long-buried secrets kept confidential for decades begin to surface, raising the stakes and deepening the suspense. The plot is smartly constructed, the pacing is excellent, and the characters are well crafted and compelling throughout. The tension builds steadily as the full scope of the crime is revealed, keeping you engaged until the very end.

A powerful, suspenseful thriller and another strong entry in a series that continues to impress. I’m very much looking forward to what comes next.

Six teenagers from the same private academy attend a rave where they think they are going to meet social media headliners. Instead they are drugged and kidnapped. Genevieve, Hudson, and the rest of the unit are all working together to figure out who is behind this. The only problem is the parents do not want to admit to the kidnappings. The story reaches back 22 years when the parents were involved in criminal activities and the kidnapper wants revenge not ransom. This story was very intense and sometimes very realistic. Be prepared for some hard to read parts, but Mary Stone writes in a way that it all comes together in the end. A VERY GOOD BOOK and I highly recommend this series. I received this as an ARC team member.

I read this book as part of an ARC team. This is a parent's worst nightmare. But for parents with big secrets, it is the kid's worse nightmare. This is a very intense and gut wrenching read. Teenagers are lured to what they think is a party only to be drugged and kidnapped. These are wealthy families that find out their money is not what the kidnapper wants. This is a ride. Just when you think they will rescue these kids, the kidnapper stays one step ahead. And this kidnapper is the worst kind of dangerous. This kidnapper has an agenda and has absolutely no qualms about killed each and every one of these teenagers. Wow!

Underage teenagers wanting a night out parents would not approve received invitations to a Rave. Sneaking out taking a ride share to the destination of abandoned empty warehouses which took them all into a terrible situation. At the Rave in the VIP section they are brought to they are offered drinks, blue drinks that they didn't realized are drugged. A little bit of knocking one around before they are all pretty much out of it.
Is this a kidnapping, a murder, a good old scare to the kids and parents or is it something worse?
This thriller pushes all the buttons and keeps you reading until you are done. You will love this new thriller book written by Mary Stone and Angela Kay.

Another good fast moving story!

I started reading this book Saturday morning. Finished it in one day! Didn't have any plans, so just treated myself to a day of reading. Wow! Really need your seatbelts on hang on through all the twists and turns. Genevieve is really working with the full department on this case. It takes all of them working together to save the kids. Some things were startling. Some things were just so real to life, it makes you wonder if it really could happen! Either way, this is a very good book. The two authors are working well together. Keep up the good work!

Wow! From start to finish this books just won’t let you put it down. Six teens on their way to a rave but just not any rave - important celebs will be there for them to meet. They are about to face their worst nightmare, being kidnapped to pay for the sins of their parents. Guinevere, Hudson and the rest of the team are against the clock trying to find them before they are tortured, or worse killed. This is a real complicated case for Hudson and Genevieve. There are several kids who are all missing and trying to find what they all have in common is difficult. Some parents will not even talk with authorities. All are from wealthy families ut there is more to it. When one father goes on air talking about some errors he was part of 22 years ago the team starts to see a picture, but tbe must be careful as lives are at stake

Six teens looking forward to a party turns out to be the worst time of their life. Little did they know that it was the beginning of a kidnapping & torture that was the cause of their parents. FBI agent Genevieve Steele & her partner are called by a girlfriend that finds her boyfriend missing. Just the beginning of a case that seems to never end. A page turner that does not disappoint

Geneieve Steel and her partner are assigned to a case where several teenagers appear to be missing after receiving private invitations to what appears to be a Rave party. However, none of the parents want to admit their children are missing.

The team must try to solve the case without many clues to follow. The book is full of mystery and suspense.
