When vampires came out of the shadows, the world changed overnight. Most people found a way to live with it, but Heather Monroe tried to pretend it didn’t affect her… until the night her brother vanished without a trace.
Desperate for answers, Heather dives headfirst into a dangerous underworld where vampires and humans coexist in a fragile truce. Her only ally is Nicholas, who seems to know more about vampire society than any human should.
As she uncovers a network of blood-fueled corruption and a drug trade linking vampires to human criminals, she realizes her brother may not be an innocent victim after all. Every clue drags her deeper into a web of lies, seduction, and violence, where one wrong move could make her the next to disappear.
To save her brother, Heather will have to cross a line no human should ever cross. But when the hunt leads her into the heart of vampire territory, will she find him in time or lose herself to the darkness instead?

This book is Discovery of Witches meets Twilight with a dash of True Blood.
Lethal Bite is the first book in the Redlust series by Kellee Greene. This book has a HFN ending, but at the end of the series, you can bet there will be a HEA! This pulse-pounding mystery series features complex characters, small-town vibes, and one couple throughout the series.
Kellee has been writing professionally for over nine years and is the author of over 50 published science fiction novels in the Post-Apocalyptic and Dystopian genres under the name Kellee L. Greene. With a love of all things dark, twisty, and otherworldly, Kellee blends high-stakes tension with just enough romance to keep readers turning pages late into the night.
She was captivated by stories like Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse series. Recently, she binge-watched True Blood for the third time and will probably do it again. Kellee also enjoys fantasy stories and movies like The Lord of the Rings, which she's watched several times, and Game of Thrones. It was only a matter of time before she began crafting her own paranormal and fantasy-driven worlds. Whether it's dangerous creatures, forbidden bonds, or heart-pounding survival, her books always promise something unexpected and a little dangerous.
When she's not writing, plotting, or daydreaming about her next story world, she's probably over-caffeinating and losing track of time in the pages of a good book.
Kellee never ceases to amaze me. She's owned the dystopian and natural disasters world and now she's been branching out into paranormal romance and has been knocking them out the park.
Lethal bite is no different.
Vampires are no longer secrets of the night. But trying to integrate into society.
The story begins with Heather, at the library later at night. The library now stays open to accommodate its new clientele. Her brother is not comfy with that and they have it set up that he texts her when hes on the way and outside so the alleged danger is minimized.
On this night, a handsome stanger enters and captivates Heather. But she has to rush out to meet her brother who has texted her.
Only when she gets outside the car is empty, door open.
Thus begins her own investigation into her missing brother with the help of the handsome Nicholas.
The slow build is still building. Danger is afoot and it seems she doesn't know all that she thought she knew about her brother.
I finished this in one sitting and am anxiously waiting for the next installments..because come on theres gotta be a few books on this series!
