Two hundred and fifty years have passed since the War of Rebirth - the final World War that nearly triggered the extinction of all mankind. Only remnants of once great cities remain. Crumbling skyscrapers and cracked, desolate streets faintly echo with the cries of long-forgotten voices.
Descendants of the few survivors have since rebuilt. Segregated peoples with their own ideas of society scatter the region where Eva Calloway resides. For the last five years, she finds herself protecting a colony of peaceful Rovers from the two largest gangs in the area, desperate to atone for her own bloody past.
Everything changes when she rescues brothers, Jake and Tommy McAvoy, from a mysterious vault that has not been opened since the wars. With each step closer to finding the boys’ missing father, the ghosts of her past begin to resurface. Now, Eva will be forced to fight her way out of the darkness or else be consumed by it.
I was twelve when I discovered my love for writing. Books had always captivated me, but I often felt as though something was missing in them, so I began creating those missing pieces.
At thirteen, my first publication was a poem I wrote for a school project was entered into a children’s poetry competition, but was chosen for the adult category instead.
I haven't stopped writing since.
Over the last 20+ years, I've written fanfiction and plotted countless books that were never finished, waiting for an epiphany to hit.
In 2016, I began developing "The Wanderer Trilogy." It was the first original concept I felt drawn to. A story I believed readers would love.
I am proud to announce that, after almost 10 years, The Wanderer Trilogy will officially begin its release on January 15th, 2026—with spin-offs and multi-book series to follow in the future.
Ultimately, my dream is to one day become a full-time author and create more stories for my fans!
A dark and gritty tale of surviving after the end of the world. Purpose is the first book in The Wanderer Trilogy. The story follows Eva “The Wanderer” not your usual female after the end of the world she needs no man to protect her. Eva is such a strong woman and knows how to navigate the world she was born into. She has seen the true worst of what is left of humanity and endured. One of the highlights of this book for me was everyone questioned at times if The Wanderer was a man or a woman. She was a kick butt, kill gang members, and not think a second thought about taking a life kind of woman. As you can see I loved Eva. Now Jake on the other hand I wasn’t so crazy about. A group of privileged individuals survive in a vault and that is where you meet Jake and his brother Tommy. Eva learns that this vault has been discovered and goes to check for survivors after a gang gets there first. Jake was not a favorite of mine. He isn’t used to this harsh world, but he is protective of Tommy and wants to take care of Eva even though she doesn’t need him to. I have no idea where the next book will go from the ending and I kind of enjoy that idea. Excited for the next book in the series. Please read responsibly and know what you can handle tho
Purpose by Brittany Hanson delivers a gripping blend of high-stakes world building, raw emotional depth and a heroine whose internal battles are as intense and the dangers surrounding her. At the heart of the story is a female protagonist navigating a collapsed society while fighting her own mental health struggles. The author handles her anxiety and trauma with honesty and nuance that makes her feel painfully real. Her internal conflict adds an extra layer of tension to every choice she makes. Sometimes you want to hug her and others you want to shake her and sometimes you just want her to breathe. The world building is exceptional, every detail from the oppressive gangs to the subtle cultural shifts creates a setting that feels fully lived in. It's bleak but never flat. Every corner of this world seems to pulse with hidden history unspoken rules and danger at every page turn. The character development shines not only in our FMC but in the supporting cast as well. The small but meaningful love interest is very well done. It's gentle and quiet and never overshadows the FMC's personal journey. It feels like a sliver of hope in an others suffocating environment offering emotional contrast without becoming the center of the plot. Overall this is a powerful read. dark but deeply human, tense but beautifully written. I can't wait to see where the next book takes us in Eva, Tommy, and Jakes journey.
Brittany Hanson’s Purpose is a captivating and imaginative story that draws readers into a post-wartime America struggling to piece itself back together. While the premise of rebuilding civilization after devastation isn’t new, Hanson’s fresh and thoughtful approach makes it feel entirely original. Her world-building is vivid, and her characters are deeply human not only flawed, hopeful, but determined. The wanderer’s journey is particularly moving, especially as the introduction of two young boys challenges her outlook and reawakens her sense of purpose. The dynamic reminded me of the Michonne storyline in The Walking Dead series, where resilience and maternal instinct intertwine to protect and nurture, even in the harshest circumstances.I was especially intrigued by the portrayal of the protagonist’s inner demon and how it adds layers to her emotional struggle. It’s clear that Hanson is setting up a complex exploration of mental and emotional resilience, and I can’t wait to see how her stability and relationships evolve in future books. The ending left me eager for more, cementing Purpose as an unforgettable start to what promises to be a powerful series.
