“Some of our greatest gifts arrive in damaged packages.”
Solana Jacobs is a good girl, plain and simple. She'd hold the title if staying on the straight and narrow were a sport. Yet, when her best friend—who has fifteen years left on his sentence—enters her bookstore looking for a job, Solana can’t help but wonder if there is some good in being bad.
Asher Conrad is fresh out of prison and looking for a new start. Although working in a bookstore isn’t what he had in mind, Asher knows that when his back is against the wall, there is one person he can count on.
Asher and Solana are unlikely friends, yet there is a connection that can’t be denied. She’s had a pretty easy life, and he’s only ever known hardships. Life as they knew it will never be the same, but what happens when the love shared between them is stronger than the truths of their past?
This book gave me the best feelings the whole time I was reading it. Asher and Solana's friendship was truly special even while he was in jail. I loved how Solana took care of Asher needs the whole time that he was away. Once Asher was released, he didn't waste any time coming for Solana. I enjoyed the naturalness of them going from friends to lovers. Asher and Solana's banter and their love made them a great couple. I was hoping that Asher's mother would get her comeuppance, but she didn't even though she deserved it. Great book that I highly recommend!!
