Her Monsters, Her Choice: Part 2

Rate this book
After being dragged to the demon realm, I am introduced to a whole new world of torture. The agony of physical pain is combined with the excruciating sorrow of watching someone I love suffer as well. But any pain inflicted on me cannot compare to being haunted by the memories of what I’ve lost. Any progress I’ve made over the past couple months has died with him.

Yet, amongst all the chaos, I discover one powerful truth. Not everything is as it seems.

Returning to the human world, my relentless protectors and I face even more obstacles while still battling ghosts from the past. The connection we all share, once ignited by lust and adoration, transcends into an unbreakable bond of love and healing.

Through a journey of pure resilience, my guys and I pursue a life of happiness in the face of evil. Each of them have vowed to protect me, and I plan to do the same for them. I am choosing to stop running and to start fighting for what I want, even if that decision leads to an unexpected path that will change my life forever.

This book is a why choose romance where the boyfriends are also boyfriends. It contains explicit scenes and dark themes, so the author advises to check the trigger warnings before reading.

I received an ARC and I enjoyed the story but there were a few things that made me need to take a break from reading it.

We get to see Tessa again but the tension is there between her and Tara about Rowan. I felt like Tessa’s reason was not good enough. The fact that it was put off until Part 2 made it seem like it was gonna be this big thing. Instead it could’ve been a conversation they wrapped up in Part 1 and maybe have some lingering tension in Part 2 before they’re totally okay. It just seemed like for something that felt like a big deal, it ended up easily explained and dismissed. I was hoping to feel more connected to Tessa since it looks like we’ll be diving into her story next and I wanted to feel excited. Instead I would be fine if I didn’t get around to reading her story.

Let’s talk about Rowan. In part 2, we were able to get to know his character and enjoy seeing him connect with the guys. I do wish we had more of a connection to him in part 1 because it got to a point that I was just annoyed by him and wanted him gone. I think a way to do that would have been for Tara to compare Ian with her high school relationship and how different that type of love felt. This would have been a good introduction to “the one that got away” and her realizing she cannot stay with Ian. By the time we met Rowan, we would be excited because we know he treated her well. Instead, introducing him later in the story just felt confusing. That’s because everyone she got involved with was already a tight knit group of friends but Rowan was an outsider. So when part 2 started, I was disappointed to see Rowan was in the demon realm with Tara. It took time for me to warm up to him. I think part of what contributed to that is that I feel like I cannot trust Tara’s judgement because she kept making dumb decisions and she wanted to sleep with everyone. So I really didn’t feel like we liked him for the person he is and felt it was just nostalgia and that he’s hot. She can sleep with everyone if she wants but it was clear they wanted a relationship. It did not make sense since they were now new people and I would’ve liked to see them actually reconnect instead of just focusing on their looks. We got to see an emotional connection grow between Tara and each of the guys but not with Rowan. So it wasn’t until he was healing in Lane’s home and was readily accepted by Lane and Blake, that I warmed up to him.

Tyler becoming king felt anticlimactic. It was such a big deal that his dad had some big plans for him and that’s why he absolutely needed Tyler back. However it disappointed. I would’ve wanted to see the dad turn around and try to kill Tyler instead and have a big showdown. When Tyler saw his dad looming at Tara, I would’ve wanted to see some more tension and perhaps the dad make a move. For a demon who loves to rule, it just seemed unrealistic that he’d readily hand over the kingdom to Tyler. The death of his father also just seemed too easy.

I do love how difficult it was to fight Ian throughout both books. It really made it clear that he’s strategic and dangerous. They said he’s one of the oldest vampires and therefore incredibly hard to kill and the story absolutely did him justice with that. I appreciate that when planning the fight against Ian, it was understood how important it was to capture him so Tara could get her revenge.

Overall it was a good read and I’ve recommended it to a few friends.

O-M-G...this book was soooooo INCREDIBLE!! After reading Her Monsters, Her Choice Part 1, I absolutely could NOT wait for this part!!

🥳🖤📖🖤🥳

Awakening in the demon world after being taken captive was the least of Tara's (FMC) worries...facing the punishment and wrath of the Demon King and his minions along with fighting to stay alive was only the beginning...

Meanwhile, her 4 loyal "monsters" also devise their own plan to come to her rescue...storm the demon world and bring her home like it's nobody's business!
At the heart of it all and leading the way, the group's own demon (Tyler/Tel'gollick) returns to the dark and horrifying world he fought so hard to escape all while managing to save their girl and return to the world and home they all love and adore...

...but...

All is not over that easy, Tyler (Tel'gollick), is also a target...as the son of the Demon King and prince of the Demon World, it's his duty to return to the world he loathes and to accept the crown from his father, becoming the new king.
Refusing isn't an option as his father threatens to harm or even destroy the people Tyler loves if he doesn't accept his new role...

To keep his friends and most importantly, the two people he loves more than anything, the Demon Prince finds himself making a huge decision that will not only affect the world he came from, but himself as well...
...a dark secret that's been buried for too long also comes to light and only fuels the anger that Tyler has kept hidden...

With the help of his friends and the only family he now knows, the Demon Prince finally gets his chance at retribution, while ultimately witnessing the world he once knew being nearly and literally burned down for him...

Absolutely and totally BEYOND ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+!!
I truly was on the edge of my seat the entire time!! Drama, suspense, intensity...and definitely all the SPICE a demon, a sorcerer, a wolf shifter, a hunter, and a human can bring, (while also featuring a new member joining in the fun 🐻)!!

Be sure to check out "Her Monsters, Her Choice Part 2" by Andrea Stial, available now!!

(...also be sure to watch for "Her Desires, Her Sins," the next book in the Skyhaven Village Series, coming soon!! 😉)

revenge, sinful and delicious

I was terrified of going into this one after the cliffhanger in book one! I won’t say much on that but reading this, the healing journey for Tara was absolutely amazing! Watching her come more into herself was one of my favorite things to read. Tara and her men will always be my favorite. Andrea has an amazing way of including everything and anything into this group dynamic and it’s absolutely delicious.

If you’re looking for a why choose where boyfriends boyfriend, where they absolutely cherish there woman then look no further than this duet. You will not be disappointed in the slightest. Go on, take a chance and enjoy.

I love the fmc of this book. She’s witty, charming, and a total badass. I also enjoyed how this book picked right up from part 1. I needed answers and I totally got them from page 1.

I am a huge mood reader and I think my mood was not matching these immaculate why choose vibes. I did have to set it down a few times with no fault to the story at all. My connection with the characters was not as strong in the second half.

However, this story was amazing and I am so glad we got answers! I love Rowan he’s a favorite of mine, his character really grew a lot in this part.

I devoured this book! The spice and plot were both on point! I loved reading about Tara and her guys. I can’t wait to follow up with Tessa and her guys in the next installment.
In this series, I feel like there’s enough angst to pull on you heartstrings but then there’s the comedic relief at the right times. Absolutely love it.

The smut is quality but the plot is getting lost under all the sex and I’m feeling a little brain dead with only reading smut🤷🏼‍♀️
