I’ve read articles and similar books on this topic. This one feels different to me. It aligns with scripture so well it actually flows positively and love. Isn’t that what real Christianity is all about? It’s a short read but to the point without fluff and that aids to the message. Sometimes we look for difficult answers when they are so pure and simple we can’t comprehend.

Interesting book on being in the presence of the Lord. Felt more like a sermon than an NDE account, I would have liked much much more detail on what he saw, but it was lacking in that area. The two sections that struck me the most were about our words. Every word we speak either builds the soldiers of good or the soldiers of evil. Truly, every word matters! And second, the prayers of others over us build roads and towers and bridges to Heaven. Pray over those you love. And finally, I am His favorite. You are his favorite, He created each of us for a unique and specific purpose and is delighted in every step we take towards it.

VERY DISAPPOINTED as this does NOT READ as a real life experience. It's filled with Bible verses and references. I DID NOT feel it was in anyway shape or form a death experience story. It was just mostly scripture throughout the entire book. I felt as if I was reading a bible study sermon.

Wow! I am litrally speechless right now! I'm not even done reading this GOD-inspired holy book but I can already tell this is the one of the most accurate accounts EVER of someone going to heaven. This novel is so inspiring I highly recommend it to anybody who is Christian or anybody that is close to that. You NEED to read this book right now! Seriously Wow. I love how he is telling his story (I'm listening to the audiobook on Spotify). This was totally worth every dollar. Amen Pastor Gabe! Excellent author! I'm going to buy some extra copies when I can and give to my friends. My whole youth group needs to read this. So excited for the rest of it. You won't want to put this down. I thought I might not like cause I'm only 17 but this book is so great. As you can tell I could just go on and on about how much im already reading this. I'll give a more in-depth review when I'm finished reading it.

This was an amazing book! It's about Gabe Poirot, a non-fiction story about how he was riding an electric scooter, (without a helmet), with some friends and he tripped on a small bump. He did a backflip in the air and fell on the back of his head and shattered his skull, and instantly gone.... Everyone was terrified that this happened to to him... His spirit left his body, for 18 days, and he encountered Jesus! He described how he saw Jesus, and what Heaven is like! Jesus told him, at the end of his 18 days, that it was time to still live life on Earth and the Holy Spirit will always be with him! Finally after the long 18 days he woke up from the coma fully healed! Many were shocked and frightened, every single inch of his body was perfectly fine! He is fully healed from a miracle, that Jesus made happen!
That's why I believe that Jesus and God can great things for us, through trusting him :)

This book needed more editing to make it flow better. I felt the author didn’t share very many details of his experience, but instead shared his beliefs and scripture. The positive - a lot of scripture is quoted.

💭General thoughts
The first half of the book was really well done, I was fascinated by his story! The author shares his experiences and backs them up with Bible verses and explanations when needed. Also the ending is so beautiful! It gave multiple perspectives on the situation. The author writes with so much love and passion for God. He is such a fanatic for Jesus. Love that!!
🌟 There are some small things that made me rate it 4 stars instead of 5:
The second half became a bit too chaotic for me to stay super engaged. Therefore it took me a while to finish this book, even though it’s quite a thin book. Instead of focusing mainly on his experiences, it became more about preaching his own beliefs, which weren’t always necessarily part of his NDE. He also tried to cover many topics at once. I totally understand why, because he just wants to tell it all and so many things are important indeed! But because of this, the second half felt a bit all over the place. A bit more editing would have helped.
The emphasis was very heavy on God being love. Which is true and very important, of course! But the Bible also talks about God’s wrath and Him disciplining / correcting those He loves, like a father does to his son. I think weaving this a bit more into his preaching could have portrayed God in a more wholesome way, adding some extra depth and nuance.
Most of what the author shares has brought me closer to God and is biblical. There were a few small parts in his preaching that I questioned, though. This could be a me thing and doesn’t necessarily have to be a fault of the author. His beliefs are very charismatic, although not in a prosperity gospel way. So just know that this book is not only about his NDE, but also about his beliefs and comes from a charismatic perspective.
He also uses The Passion Translation a lot for his Bible references. I understand why people like it, but I personally see it more as a paraphrase than a translation. It often adds more words than needed, which can make verses feel less accurate or strong and less easy to read sometimes. I didn’t include this in my rating; it’s just my personal preference.

All in all, his story is beautiful, and I liked this book! It brought me closer to God and helped me see the reality of heaven, our time here on earth, and what it means beyond what we can see with our bare eyes.

What an incredible story of how this young man’s life was saved and his experience in heaven. I love that he used scriptures to point to everything he experienced as well. He mentioned that he will be writing more books and I am looking forward to reading more about his experience.

I heard Gabe's interview on Blurry Creatures and it spurred me to get the book when it was released. I really prayed for wisdom before and while reading it. I just finished it today and it is well worth a prayerful read. I saw a couple of interviews with Gabe and some men who were challenging Gabe about the Scriptural integrity of what he was saying. The interviewers were clearly cessationists. I understand their viewpoint because I grew up in a very reformed background where cessationism was the accepted belief. But in reading Scripture numerous times I no longer subscribe to that because I don't think it's Biblical. Everything Gabe said was not only Scripturally sound -- but deeply resonant. God does not fit into a tidy box or an acronym. He is WAY out of our scope. Consider reading this and ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. If you do, it might be a life changing book for you.

Gabe Poirot has an amazing story with the power to inspire others to make deep and meaningful changes in their lives. I loved his passion and obedience, and how he shares his journey for the reader’s benefit. I also appreciate how he encourages readers to test his experiences by what Scripture says, rather than just taking his word for it.
What spoke loudest to me throughout the book was the power of our words and prayers, the vital need for unity and grace, and the all-encompassing love of Jesus that surrounds us. A fascinating book!

I am completely in awe of Gabriel’s experience…leaving his body, meeting Jesus, and trying his best to describe what he saw. Some of it is almost impossible for me to wrap my head around. This book reminded me how limited our senses and understanding are here on earth, and how much more there may be beyond what we can comprehend.
Gabriel’s description of Jesus left me in reverent awe. At times, you can feel him reaching for words to describe something that words simply cannot hold. His story is truly a miracle.

July 2, 2026Seems silly to rate someone else's experience, so I shall refrain.
A beautiful, and I believe faithful and true account of what Gabe experienced. It is consistant with what little the Bible tells us about the spiritual realms, and contains many details and curiosities about those realms. Most importantly, though, Gabe stays focused on Jesus Himself, the Glorious One, and His great Love for us. This book made me homesick.

Very easy book to read, filled with scripture and thought provoking concepts. We often forget how important eternity is and instead focus too much on our current problems and challenges. This book reminds us that Jesus is always there and wants us to know him in a tangible way in every area of our lives. It’s been said that if you are too heavenly minded then you are of no earthly good. This book argues just the opposite that being aware of eternity and living for eternal values makes us much better people and keeps us on track in our walk with God and our service to others. We all need to be reminded of this with our busy lives. I highly recommend this book to read slowly and prayerfully. You won’t be disappointed.

March 9, 2026Gabes book "18 Days in Heaven," recounts a near-death experience following a severe electric skateboard accident just before his 21st birthday, of all times to have a terrible accident . His birthday was October 25, 2021 and Poirot fell and sustained a traumatic brain injury described as a shattered skull, brain hemorrhage, and collapsed lungs which left him in a coma for 18 days. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for his family!
The accident gave Gabe something not many people have “ especially so young” a Near-Death Experience!!
Gabe has an incredible experience in which he was able to focus heavily on the image of Jesus rather than what heaven looked like ( again, I can’t believe how amazingly lucky you were. Jesus is described mainly on his eyes, being a mixture of immense love, ocean deep and full of love , as well as far from human as one could describe “ nothing you could ever think of would come close to the beauty and majesty Gabe saw in that moment.
It’s important to always remember the nature of our creators love! It might not seem like he’s always there but remember that God has a plan for each and every-one of us, God loves every individual with the same powerful, passionate and unconditional love he has for Jesus! We are made in Gods image and he desires all of us to experience heaven as a place of immense joy, vibrant colours ( some of which our earthly eyes cannot comprehend and heavenly songs.
Gabe claims he experienced the power of prayer, not just earthy prayer but heavenly prayer, he saw his family praying as well as his friends which appeared as a bridge of building blocks guiding him back to earth and most importantly, back to his body•
The book clearly shows the severity of his injuries! The medical Doctors told his family and himself that they expected him to be seriously mentally incapacitated or even dead!

this book absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way.
for both believers and nonbelievers, this book goes into detail about how gabe died, went to heaven, experienced the overwhelming beauty and glory of it all, and then returned to earth completely healed and restored.
and the entire time i was reading it, all i could think was:
ALL PRAISE TO JESUS.
because wow.

the peace.
the hope.
the love woven through every page.
it genuinely made my heart ache in a way i can’t fully explain.

but thank the Lord for my grandma recommending this to me because this book reminded me of who God is.
it reminded me how deeply loved we are.
and i’ve never felt more grateful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ than i did while reading this.

for both believers and nonbelievers, this book goes into detail about how gabe died, went to heaven, experienced the overwhelming beauty and glory of it all, and then returned to earth completely healed and restored.

March 18, 2026I was one of the lucky ones to be able to read this book in advance ..I don't even know where to begin to write a review because the book "18 days in Heaven" is so deep and rich with information for anyone that wants to get to know Jesus Christ better .. Let's start with the author .. I first saw Gabe on an IG post where he was speaking about his encounter with Jesus Christ in Heaven.. I didnt have the sound up but right away but I noticed this man, Gabe, had a joy on his face that you don't see every day and spoke with such conviction, that alone peaked my interest..When I heard his compelling story of Jesus' love in his story I had to get that book .. I've worked in neurological ICUs for the majority of my career and when I saw Gabe's CT of his head , I would have said he's got no chance of survival a typical " tag and bag" patient , so there was zero doubt he was no longer with us ..
From what I understand the author is in his mid 20's but in his book " 18 Days in Heaven" , he spoke with wisdom that usually occurs with advancing age of which he was getting from Christ himself..No other way to explain that .. Gabe's experience and conversations in Heaven are clearly inspired by Our Savior Himself ..I haven't met a younger person with such wisdom and insight ..His questions he had for Jesus were answered in such a beautiful loving way that only Jesus Himself could reply like that .. Jesus' appearance , His fragrance, how He spoke, His demeanor , His gentleness but full of Justice personality, His eyes full of love and compassion..You get the picture..What was more intriguing is when Gabe was telling Jesus his faults , Jesus over spoke him and guided his inner pride to stand firm in Jesus' Truth.. You will get great insight as to the sights and sounds of Heaven reading this book .. This book transcends any modern religion explaining who Jesus really Is ..He is Love He is Heaven and you will one day feel the same Love Gabe was immersed in , surrounded by while in Heaven ..I've read my share of NDEs this book is hands down the most clear and informative experience with The King of all Kings .. I had already heard Gabe’s testimony on YouTube before reading his book, and I honestly don’t think I had ever heard someone describe an experience of Heaven in a way that felt so incredibly real. It touched my heart and made me want to hear more. I started following him on social media, and he was kind enough to gift me a Spanish copy of his book. (I will definitely be purchasing the original English version as well, because I would love to experience his story in his own words!)
Even though I already knew what was going to happen, I simply wanted to keep reading and learn more about his testimony.
One of the things I appreciated most was how he supported his experiences with Scripture throughout the book. It was incredibly comforting to see that, and even more meaningful that he continuously encourages readers to open their own Bibles and seek God for themselves.
I truly believe this book was written with no other intention than to lovingly share the truth that has transformed his life: that truth has a name, and His name is Jesus Christ.
What moved me the most wasn’t simply the extraordinary experience of someone going to Heaven. It was the overwhelming beauty of being reminded that we have a Savior we can trust, a Savior whose love is greater than anything we could ever comprehend.
This testimony has strengthened my faith far more than I ever expected. I found myself crying as I read, because I could feel that love so deeply and was reminded that the very same love and truth are available to me, too.
And the prayer at the end? That completely melted my heart. I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful way to conclude this book, because ultimately, it was never just about the experience. It has always been about Him. His love, His grace, and the salvation that is available to EVERYONE, no matter who you are or where you come from.

Wow wow wow!
I heard about Gabe through his interviews on instagram with Ryan Miller (Jesus people pod). I was instantly fascinated with his story and shortly after I received this book from Gabe and absolutely devoured it. I have read John Burkes "Imagine Heaven" (and got excited seeing he endorsed the book!) and felt so inspired and excited about heaven afterward, as I am a believer and saved Christian but still deal greatly with a fear of death (which is what had led me to read John's book years ago). I have lately had a lot of anxiety about death again ever since my grandmother passed away 3 years ago. That was my first close experience of death so as you imagine it brought that fear back. Jesus wanted me to have this book as a source of comfort, guarantee of Jesus's truths, as a reminder, and a source of his love in seeing me and my struggles. He put this book in my hands so I'd know how He wants me to know how much He loves me & wants me to use my life to work with Him, trust Him, and not be afraid. Thank you Jesus you are so so good! We all wonder what Heaven is like. We have so many questions—so many “how’s”—but this book beautifully reminds us that our curiosity feels so overwhelming because we simply have nothing on earth to compare it to. Our human minds can’t fully grasp eternity, and that’s what makes it all the more awe-inspiring.
Gabe’s story, born out of a tragic accident, carries such a powerful purpose: to reveal the true nature of God. Not the harsh or distant version some may believe in, but a loving Father who calls us His sons and daughters and deeply desires for us to be with Him.

Wow wow wow. MUST READ. Seriously, put this on your list. I listed on Spotify as an auto book but wish I could go back and look at highlights. This book has made SCRIPTURE COME TO LIFE. I feel like it’s changed me so much the last couple of weeks. I look at Jesus in a new alive way and pray harder than ever before. This book came highly recommended to me. I think all of us as Christians need to ask questions and discuss what heaven will be like. If we really believe in the eternal bliss, what can we know for sure here on earth before we get to heaven. This book draws upon his own experience but incorporates many scriptures to blend into his story. I thought the reference to what we know about conception of a life was fascinating: "It is not about the egg just sitting there waiting for the "fastest" or "strongest" sperm to arrive, but instead it is making a choice." When the prayers of those around him during his coma are highlighted in the book, that can be the most controversial section but also the most powerful if you indeed believe that prayer can make a difference in that way. I am not sure he fully answered his critics even though he devoted a very short chapter at the end to that issue. Nonetheless, I would recommend this to my wife and others to read and then discuss. It appears there is also a free video resource and discussion guide available.

First, I have to say I thought the book was very well written. The topics were like nothing I expected to read. I have been a believer my entire life, but what I have come to find happening to me and I expect it is happening to many other Christians is Churches spend too much time dwelling on our failures rather than giving us the joys of our redemption.
When I read Gab's word, that you do not have to join a church, it made me feel at peace with my desire to look at my relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in a different way.
I will buy his book for myself and read it often because it affirmed for me that Christ's LOVE is so great it absolved all sin for those who ask for forgiveness and accept his grace.
