“I am not good enough.” For years, those five words defined Jaymee Wallace’s identity. They shaped her choices, scarred her relationships, and nearly cost her life.
In Finding True Worth in the One Who Redeems, Jaymee courageously shares her journey through childhood trauma, devastating loss, infidelity, toxic perfectionism, and the prison of shame. With searing honesty, she exposes how the enemy uses lies of worthlessness to keep us bound. Through heartbreak and healing, Jaymee’s testimony the curse of shame keeps us trapped in silence and self-destructionThe power of God’s truth to crush the lies of shame and insufficiencyWhy perfection, performance, or people’s approval can never define our worthHow redemption arises from even the most painful failuresThis book is more than a story about Jaymee Wallace; it is a memoir of redemption. If you’ve ever felt broken, unworthy, or beyond forgiveness, Unworthy will remind you that God’s grace is greater.
I knew Jaymee and her husband when everything came crashing down. We’d lost touch since then, and I just happened to stumble on this book recently. … And I devoured it. I simply couldn’t put it down. My initial question was, “I wonder what ever happened to them…” Well, I found out – and so much more. This book is a fantastic testimony of what God can do with a life that has been so broken to pieces that society would simply have given up on her – even rejected her. But God… He had never given up on Jaymee, and these pages do a wonderful job of not only telling her story, but so much more. She clearly lays out not only the pit that her life had ended up in and how God broke through all of that in amazing ways. She also does this in such a way as to clearly send the message that God is waiting, willing, and able to do the same for anybody – no matter who they are or what they’ve done.
When I read this book (all in one day!), I found myself drawn into her story, broken hearted at all of the tragedies and traumas. But she’s not writing for some kind of pity party. This is a testimony to the greatness of God! And I found myself all wrapped up in that, too. Numerous times, I had goose bumps from head to toe. I was drawn to tears several times – tears of joy, that is, at the greatness of the love and restorative power of God.
If you have suffered trauma and believe there’s no way out... If you’ve done unspeakable things – even things that would send you to prison… Or if you know anyone who needs God’s touch deep in their lives (maybe you?), then this book is for you. I am so glad to be able to rejoice at the amazing work that God has done in the life of my old friend, her husband, and her children (and many others, too!). But what I love most about this book is what God will do in so many other lives through this testimony. God is good – just read and find out.
I know the author personally and I knew the public bits of her story before I read this. This is a tremendous book for anyone on any part of their journey with (or looking for) Jesus. Whether you are searching, broken, a Pharisee, or neutral you will find yourself in this book and hear something from God while reading it.
