I was chosen to get an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) of Trick, and as my first ARC read, it was a good one!
If you've ever wanted to know how it feels to be an ancient, vengeful being, Ashley Marie describes it perfectly. So much so, that when I had to walk like a human being, I was disappointed that I wasn't weightless. I'm one of the people who cannot see book scenes in my mind, but, boy, can I feel them. When I tell you I felt everything, it is not an exaggeration. Every chill, every fear, every piece of justice served. All of it, the entire time.
The reading style took some getting used to, as the paragraphs were not set up as "normal" chapters, and there was slim dialogue. Due to the slim dialogue, some parts did get confusing, and I had to go back to re-read. However, I believe if it were written differently, I wouldn't have felt nearly as much of the book as I did.
I desperately hope the other sisters get their own books, and I will absolutely be first in line to get them!

Suspenseful, Vengeful, & Hauntingly Horrific
Besties… "Trick" was giving feminine vengeance, demonic justice, and Halloween chaos in the BEST possible way. Ashley Marie dropped us straight into a city buzzing with revelry while Trick and her demon sisters rise once more to deliver karmic retribution to predatory men... and I was strapped in from page one.
The author’s descriptive writing was vivid and atmospheric that I could practically feel the chill when these men met their doom. The suspense? The anticipation? She built it like a slow, wicked smile before the ki££, and I was LIVING. FOR. IT!
Trick’s POV carried the story with intensity and purpose, but the glimpses into Detective Sarah’s perspective added the perfect human counterpoint. You just KNOW their worlds are about to collide in deliciously dark ways.
Now, there were a few inconsistencies in the story. But it did not pull me out of the storyline. I was too invested in Trick’s mission and the overall vibe. Besties, this series started STRONG. If paranormal vengeance, gore, and girl-powered horror are your jam... Add it to your TBR!

I will admit this is a new genre of books for me and Ashley Marie came very highly recommended as an author to get me started and I am so glad I listened.
This book has me in a chokehold, and not even because it was spicy like I normally read but because of the way the author was able to bring the main FMC Trick to life!!!

Trick was the embodiment of feminine rage with a sense for justice, but not just any justice on Halloween she came and killed men who had the same vibe as those who hurt her.
Then we have Detective Sarah's perspective as she follows the murders which adds the perfect bit of human perspective where Trick is all demonic feminine revenge, it's a perfect balance.
Do I possibly believe something that Sarah and Trick's worlds are gonna connect??? YES YES I do!!!! Is it something I'm looking forward to??? Abso-fuckin-lutely!!!!
I believe it's gonna happen in a very dark, very exciting way!!
I can't wait for book two , to read how the author decides to keep expanding on this series.

Twisted, vile, amazing and truly captivating! Best Halloween book I have read so far can’t wait to read treat! And get to know all the sisters and what they are made for! Trick takes you through a journey that she and her sisters all have to do because everyone else dropped the ball. No one is willing to take the worst of the worst and make them pay for their crimes. Detective Sarah comes into play when all the calls go out about not a murder or unjustified crimes but she’s truly sees what Trick is all about and wants to stop her but realizes she is not what she seems!!! She is not judge or jury she is the Executioner!!!
The story takes you on a wild ride. It’s on Halloween night for God sakes. It’s an amazing story that will take you through things that you would never experience your real life and how Trick and her demonic sisters take control.

Supernatural ritual from eons of time. Justice for those hurt and dead, aurora basking in blood and hate are judged. This supernatural entity Trick is clever, ruthless and creative. The horror and gore in this book was memorising. The way this book followed All hallows night and justice that is carried out on this night. This book is perfect if you like splatterpunk, extreme horror with a supernatural theme. I throughly recommend as I enjoyed this and would love to see what happens in Tricks sisters chapters. Trick is deadly and not just her powers she is seductive, alluring and mysterious by a power older than anything known.
This book is extreme so please check your triggers. But saying this wanting to try something new check this out

Dayum!! This book was wickedly twisted! I loved it. Trick, Treat, Death, and Hoax were not only killer names, but killer characters. literally.
Ashley writes with one he*l of a beautifully twisted and sick mind. I can get down with that for sure.
This book plays on Very twisted version of Trick or Treat on Halloween. But justice plays the main stage here.

Trick. Or. Treat. That’s the question and be sure to pick the right one. I love books that are dark but for a good reason. Although this book is definitely graphic it is extremely good. Mental health is important and make sure to read all the content warnings. The sisters in the book were at a party and got drugged, raped, and died. These girls come back on Halloween when the veil is the thinnest to avenge their lives they once had. It is extremely immersive. I definitely forgot I was still living and not there with them. It was amazing!! I can’t thank Ashley Marie enough for her book. She did fantastic!!

I loved this book and could not get enough of it. It grabbed me from the very first page and once I started I could not put it down. It felt like the book had a hold on me and that was all there was to it. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for the flow of the story and also one that makes for an easy and enjoyable read. This characters, wow. You will love them no matter what they do. This book will not let you down, it is a must read that once you are done, you need more. No doubt about it.

This is a pager turner for me there was no spice at all but I loved the plot of the book. In this book you follow Trick as she goes through the night and revenging/unaliving those who give off the nasty crime auras, Detecive Sarah follows behind trying to see who is responsible for all the unaliving with her department.

If you want a Halloween tale that will have you reaching for the covers and baseball bat (not that they'll help you survive), look no further than Trick by Ashley Marie. This spooky tale will have you looking back on every wrong you've ever made.
Some villains are easy to root for, and Trick is definitely one of them. If you've been wronged by a partner, friend, or even some weirdo on the street, Trick is your girl! I can't wait to see what the other sisters have to offer!

I really, really loved this book...
Tale of ancient vengeful sisters, dishing out justice the system failed to give out.
This story will take the top spot on my list, when it comes to vengeance.
If you want a book that delivers that justice without delays or lengthy procedures,
Then this book is for you.
I love stories like this, where the bad guys always pay for their atrocities...
With their lives and are not protected by the system.

I have never read a book like this (in a good way). The plot is absolutely epic and has you hooked and devouring the book in 1 sitting. it's been a long time since I've read a book so well written. 100% perfect read for spooky season. The way Ashley Writes it makes you feel like you are the character. Now this book isn't going to be for everyone so don't feel bad if it's not for you because please check those TRIGGER WARNINGS. ps hoping the others get there own books

I received this as an ARC and this is my honest review.
This book was fantastic from start to end. The storytelling, the detail, the gore...it was all chef's kiss!!!
The FMC was so amazingly detailed and those kills were something you could actually envision.
The story was dark and deliciously murderous. Maybe next time someone asks you "Trick or Treat" you'll really think about your answer or one will be chosen for you.

I loved Trick. I think I really got into it the closer it got to Halloween, that is for sure. Trick is the bad b!tch with the skill and hunger for revenge that drives her. I highly suggest you read it.

Bloody gore! Cat and a Mouse chase between Trick and Detective Sarah. Trick hunts for the worst of the worst and makes them into a piece of art with how she dismembers the bodies and "decorates" the room they are in.

I was given an ARC copy for review. Trick was out of my normal genre of books I've read, but I'm glad I was given the opportunity to read & branch out into a new genre. Trick kept me on my toes the entire way! If you like suspense, thriller, & gore this book is for you!
