Perfect for fans of Verity or any Gothic thrillers!
Sarah Bryan is desperately searching for a job after college graduation. Sleeping on her friend’s couch and waitressing at night isn’t what she wants for her future. Her luck changes when she sees a job announcement pinned to the bulletin board outside her apartment complex. Working for a wealthy widower at his secluded estate seems like the chance of a lifetime and exactly what Sarah needs.
However, something about Henry unsettles her. Sarah doesn’t feel comfortable in her new home. She starts hearing whispers while trying to sleep and seeing fleeting shadows in the middle of the night. She wonders if the stress of the move and her new job is getting to her or if she’s losing her grip on reality. Soon, strange events begin to unfold, things she can’t explain. She becomes convinced that someone is coming into her room at night while she’s sleeping.
Sarah must decide what’s real, what’s imagined, and who she can trust. Paranoid and searching for answers, she encounters a strange woman in the woods. This encounter shatters everything she thought she knew about the people living in that house. The truth may be more dangerous than Sarah ever guessed. With no cell service or internet connection, Sarah grows increasingly isolated and afraid for her life. As Sarah investigates why she’s really been brought there, she wonders if she’ll make it out alive.
Ok actual story line pretty good! Nice twists and I did not guess the big twists so that’s a huge plus for me.
My main issue with the book is the typos. Maybe because it’s on kindle was my first thought. But the book needs to be proofread again….lots of space gaps where there shouldn’t be. Also towards the end a word should have been that but had a e on the end so says thate.
Also stuck with me was the doll was called Gabrielle but then multiple times referred to as Millie. The other thing that stuck with me was the big jump to the story line of 3 sisters….i feel like that should have been a year later story line like something to help guide the big shift in the story. Otherwise I mostly enjoyed this book! Good job author!

It’s her second book I read and I have to say I really enjoyed it… for a split second I thought “ok thisis too far fetched.. too weird “ but then the author was able to make it all make sense. Will definitely add her to my list of authors to follow
This book was a little hard to follow. I didn’t really get into it until halfway through. Some of the plot was hard to read even though I believe in ghosts it was just far fetched. Then, by the end i was mimd blown! So much of the story happens from 75% on.
