The Primordial Waters are stirring—and so are hearts.
After 5,000 years, the ancient dragon Kur is awake, and without his watchful presence, the Primordial Waters threaten to drown the world in chaos. Their waves pull Molly Ravenwood away from her mission to uncover who plans to use MaunDagnir to sacrifice her.
As dark forces plot, new dangers Nox, enigmatic and cunning, joins the cabal, bringing secrets and complications Molly doesn’t yet understand. Caelan drowns in alcohol and obsession, determined to convince her that she belongs with him—every word shredding her heart.
Jayden, her steadfast werewolf mate—if she can bring herself to accept him—forces her to confront a bond that is as thrilling as it is terrifying, challenging everything she thought she knew about love, loyalty, and destiny.
Caught between monsters, magic, and the dangerous pull of desire, Molly must embrace the full extent of her powers and confront both new and familiar enemies. With Kur’s awakening threatening to drown the world and her heart torn between Jayden and Caelan, Molly will discover that running from herself—or from love—is no longer an option.
Mandi Oyster dreams of living in a world where dragons and unicorns abound. For now, she lives in Southwest Iowa with her husband, two children, four cats, and two chinchillas. By day, she works as a Digital Prepress Supervisor for a local printshop. By night, she makes stories come to life.
I’ve come to really enjoy this series, and I was happy to be back in this universe. Molly is still finding her feet against the bullies in her life, trying to keep from falling spell to both Nox and her mother, and save the world all while trying to do a great job serving coffee. This is a fun installment to the series, and I would like to see what comes next. Fans of the first will definitely be pleased with this second installment. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
I had the immense pleasure of reading Shadowborn Secrets before it was released, and let me tell you - you're gonna love it! Book 1 was fantastic, too, of course. In book 2, I got answers to some of the questions I had after reading book 1. But the series isn't over, and I already can't wait for book 3!!
This is one of my favorite series! It's lighthearted and fun while still taking on some heavier themes of belonging and identity. The characters are so much fun, and I can never get enough of Schmendrick!! Mandi's writing is so witty and heartfelt, and I loved the dynamics between Molly and the other characters - especially Jayden! I can't wait for the third book!!
Ms. Oyster has created a magical overlay to our mundane world. The characters are relatable and the snark first class. I loved reimbursing myself in this world! I anxiously await the next book!
