To end a war, they were forced to marry. They never expected to fall in love.
Matteo Moretti has one never trust a Volkov. For three years, their families have been at war, and the Russians took everything from him—including his beloved brother. Now, to secure peace, Matteo is being forced into an arranged marriage with Roman Volkov, the enemy's lethal enforcer. Twelve months of playing house with the man he's sworn to hate. How hard could it be?
Roman Volkov doesn't want a husband. Especially not a Moretti. But duty demands sacrifice, and if marrying Matteo ends the bloodshed that killed his mother, he'll do it. He'll stand beside the sharp-tongued lawyer, maintain the facade, and count down the days until freedom. Feelings were never part of the plan.
But forced proximity ignites an undeniable attraction neither can ignore. As stolen glances turn to stolen kisses, and hatred transforms into something far more dangerous, Matteo and Roman discover their marriage might be the only real thing in their world of lies.
When they uncover a conspiracy that threatens both their families, they must let old wounds destroy them, or trust each other enough to fight back. Because someone orchestrated this war. Someone wants them dead. And the only way to survive is together.
A scorching enemies-to-lovers MM mafia romance featuring an arranged marriage, forced proximity, dangerous secrets, and two men who were supposed to hate each other but chose love instead. High heat with a guaranteed HEA.
This is quite an enjoyable and simple read. Nothing too complicated happens but the relationship develops well (maybe a touch too fast but good enough) and nothing too annoying happens either.
I think the only thing that made a small part impossible was when Matteo just rushed out of nowhere (iykyk) - like can you be any more **** lol
