برای من که عاشق جورج اورول هستم زندگی‌نامه‌ی این نویسنده جذابیت زیادی داشت و با شناخت کلی از شخصیتش علاقم به اون دو‌‌چندان شد.

Hopkinson’s prose, whilst refreshingly plain and clear on the whole, lacks fluidity in places.

He’s prone to generalise and oversimplify...

It’s a self-satisfied, arrogant voice. Speaking of Orwell’s humility: “…the artist has no business to feel himself inferior to his subject matter…” - pffff…

The critique of “1984” is spiteful and is absurd.

I found this early, brief survey to be interesting, in part. However, it’s been utterly eclipsed by a plethora of superior, readily available alternatives penned by writers who aren’t pompous windbags.

سری کتاب های جیبی و جمع و جور "نسل قلم" که شرح احوال، زندگی و آثار، و گهگاه نظر منتقدان متعدد در مورد یک نویسنده است، با مترجمین زبردست در زبان فارسی، کاری ست ستودنی و قابل تحسین، کمبودی که در ادبیات فارسی مشهود بود، و متاسفانه، و به احتمال قوی به دلیل شرایط، متوقف ماند. به نظر می رسد این سری آثار، به همت خشایار دیهیمی و یکی دو تن دیگر از اهل قلم در ایران شکل گرفته باشد. با تشکر و سپاس از این تلاش ادبی سترگ

There is a lot of reference to this author now in the news and our local library is doing a study on "1984" so I thought it was time I found out about George Orwell.
