The cover calls this a coming of age story. It’s a perfect description! Alison Miller captures the teenage struggles of friendship and self in an easy-to-read story. The language rings true: descriptions of the setting, inner conflicts, and the dialogue between characters are as familiar as pages out my grandchildren’s lives. My soul stirred several times when memories of my own youth were evoked. Miller nailed it! I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of Alison Miller’s work. A movie in the future would be nice.
