I love these characters! Em is a scientist who is determined to live life on her terms, even if it takes her away from her brothers and father. When her father’s health declines, she returns hime. She fulfills his deathbed wish that she marry Jude Cooper, a handsome neighbour from a family her father had taught her was the enemy. Her father believes the union is what the mountain spirit wants to happen before it will bless her brothers with the mountain call (a matchmaking phenomenon). She will do a thing to ease her father’s worries and bring him peace, but she ignores the strange and intense pull toward her groom.
Jude had inexplicably known to accompany his brother to the deathbed of his grandfather’s rival. The mountain he sees Em, he knows the mountain spirit has guided him to his “one” just as it had done in the recent past for his brothers. The wedding is meant to be a pretend one (with the marriage license not to be registered) done to ease a dying man’s mind and heart. Josh hopes to eventually woo his pretend bride and make her his wife for real. The death of her father sends Em fleeing the family ranch, unable to deal with the memories and her grief. She also leaves behind Jude, the fake husband she feels connected to, but whom she doesn’t have the emotional capacity to deal with at this moment in time.
Jude patiently gives her the space and time she needs to grieve, though he does initiate contact with Em weeks later. They begin communicating by text and phone calls, getting to know each other and asking questions. When he learns that their marriage is in fact real, Jude decides to tell Em in person. He also reminds Em about the mountain spirit and the call that her father once told her about, as well as how their families had once been connected. Both have been experiencing weird physical symptoms that mirror withdrawal. It is a way for the mountain spirit to get them to reconnect. Jude amps up his wooing as Em allows herself to believe in the mountain spirit and the call.
Both of their families offer their support, advice and encouragement, even if her brothers are a tad skeptical. Jude makes it his business to know her family, to help out at their ranch and to build friendships and connections. What is important to Em is important to Jude and he continually proves it to her. The mountain spirit has rewarded them both.

A somewhat emotional read with the passing of patriarch, Sully Wilson, and his dieing wish for Jude Cooper to marry his only daughter, Em. Jude agreed with Sully's blessing, as Jude had felt the call as soon as he stepped in the room, and saw Em. She agreed on the spot, because he brought her peace and comfort, when he was near. They married the same day Sully passed. Em had a life in Palmer, but she had planned to stay on the mountain for a little while, but in less than a week she left in the middle of the night for her life in Palmer. Jude had patience to give her time to work through her grief, while he stayed on the mountain helping her brothers on the Wilson Ranch. After several weeks he started texting her trying to get to know her better. Then something happened that he needed to see her in person, which was a real turning point in the book. I enjoyed the love letters from the original Henley Cooper and Mariam Wilson that started the whole feud between the Wilson's and the Cooper's. Jude and Em's story had a special perspective with both people knowing about the Call, and they married first then backtracked getting to know each other. I highly recommend reading this book.

May 25, 2026⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing story with so much heart, grief, healing, and hope woven through every chapter. Em and Jude completely stole my heart. What starts as a dying father’s final wish turns into something so much deeper and emotional. Their marriage of convenience slowly becomes a love neither of them expected, and watching them navigate loss, family loyalty, old rivalries, and destiny was beautiful.
I loved how the story handled grief and mental health with so much care and honesty. Em returning home after years away and trying to figure out who she is while mourning her father felt incredibly real. And Jude? Quiet, steady, protective, and carrying so much on his shoulders. The chemistry between them was tender, emotional, and unforgettable.
The Alaska small-town setting felt magical, especially with the mountain and “The Call” almost becoming characters themselves. The soulmate and spiritual elements added such a unique layer to the romance. You could feel that these two were always meant to find their way back to each other.

Em was adopted by Sully and his wife when she was a few days old, she's a Wilson, the Wilsons and the Coopers have been feuding for years. Now Sully is really ill and Jude knows that he has to go with Sutton, his brother and his wife, Blair to see him, he's no idea why he has such a strong feeling, he just knows that's what he needs to do. When he gets there and sees Em, he knows, she's his One, but Em and her brothers don't believe in that, although her father, Sully, does. He sees Jude and realises what is happening - he asks Jude to take care of Em and persuades them both to marry, Pete who is the celebrant, is taking the paperwork away but not filing the marriage, so it's really a fake one.
When circumstances change and Em goes back to Palmer she can't understand why she's feeling so bad, Jude is also have feelings of tiredness and exhaustion but isn't sure why, until he has a chat with his brother and realises that the mountain is telling him what to do.

This emotional story grabs you from the first page and with great writing. I've read the other series about the call but this is my first in this series. This is Em & Jude's story. Even though Em Wilson was adopted, she was never treated differently and knew nothing but love and loyalty, oh, except for one other thing, Never trust a Cooper, they're trouble. Em grows up to be an independent woman who knows what she wants to do with her life. When she is called with devastating news, she picks up and races home. Her father is dying and she wants to take care of him for as long as she can. When his last dying wish goes against everything she's been taught, fights to honor it. It involves Jude Cooper, the last unmarried man in his family. She must marry him. What ensues, is a journey discovery and finding love in the strangest place and that "the call" is real. What a fantastic story! The mountain spirit strikes again and it’s Jude Cooper’s turn. His One is a bit of a surprise, she’s a Wilson, the family on the other side of the mountain that have been their rivals for years. But when the patriarch of the Wilson family, Sully, takes a turn for the worse health wise, he pulls out all the stops. He asks Jude to take care of his daughter, Em, and before you know it, the two are getting married. This one starts out with a wedding and goes on for the two to get to know each other and experience the joy and pain that the Call brings. All works out in the end and I love how their marriage, brings the mountain and the two families back together again. We get a peek at what comes next and I can’t wait to read it!.

A feud that has lasted generations, a temporary marriage and the Call all combine to bring a story that is emotional, heartbreaking and will send you on a rollercoaster. Marion and Jude's story is about bringing the mountain together, dealing with grief and the patience and understanding of getting to know each other. In Marion and Jude's case it started with a marriage to make a dying man happy and ends with the Call getting its wish of two families finally brought together. Their story is gentle and caring with characters that you want to invest your time in. I had to read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. It ends with a little taster of the next book and I can't wait to read it.

Em has returned to the mountain to take care of her dad. What she never expected was for him to make a deathbed wish for her to marry. Not only marry ,but marry a member of their rivals a Cooper. Jude felt he had to tag along to the Wilson ranch. Never did he expected was to find his one. The families have hated eachother for years and now they are fighting over the mountain. They marry to please a dying man, who once he sees them together, swears the marriage will heal the rift in the mountain. Em doesn't believe in fate and makes her own path. Jude now believes in fate and must make her believe to get what he knows is his.

Emma was adopted by the Wilson family who were in with the Coopers which Jude is a member of. Her father would only let Blaire be his doctor but everyone knew he was dying. Jude had a feeling and went with Blaire and his brother Sutton when Blaire was going to see the Wilson father. When he saw Emma he knew she was it so when Emma’s father told Emma and Jude were to marry before he died. Jude accepted it but Emma not so much so she went back to her job, later he was told by her brothers to go after her. They worked things out after awhile because she also felt the mountain’ call.

Then when “Em” Wilson's father is dying, he looks at Jude Cooper and asks him to marry his adopted daughter and be the couple that heals the feud. Jude felt the Call as soon as he saw Em, but she regards the marriage as a fake, done just to ease her father. How does Jude explain he wants their marriage to be real.

Book 4 of Men of Cooper Ranch story of Marion “Em” Wilson and Jude Cooper. Now that’s how you do a marriage to your revival and fall in love. This one has some emotional moments that will have you wanted to hug Em and her brothers, but keep reading the brothers will have you wanting to kick them soon enough as all brothers do. This one had me feeling the magic that is the call and wanting to spend time with my loved ones.

I absolutely loved reading Em and Jude’s story. It was a great story of love and the family feud between the Coopers and the Wilsons. Sully Wilson is on his deathbed and asks Jude am Em to marry before he dies and they agree to marry that day. What started as a fake marriage, soon turns into the answering the Call and the family feud falling on the wayside and developing into a happily ever after. But Wyatt has met his One and I’m sure he is in for a battle ahead.

The characters were very complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Why is there a fued with these two families? Read the book. The Mountain is determined to have future and Emma is part of it. The Mountains are calling their family home and its a goof guess.there.is another ready to awaken but needs the fated collected family to heal. Secrets. Truth and making amends are a part of this. Good connections. But not following the rules effects the same way. Good read. Cameos of others are good too.

Not following the typical "Call" journey, Jude and Em find themselves uniting at a dying man's behest - then trying to find their way back to each other in the aftermath of his death. The long-running feud between the Coopers and Wilsons comes to a head, and two wounded people find their "ones" in the least likely place. Another wonderful read from an author that never fails to deliver a steamy, swoony romance.

Still the same family spirit, but more. You see the growth in both characters through the story. You learn more of the backstory of

I absolutely love this book and the entire series, have been waiting for it. The FMC and MMC have never met. But her father and his grandfather did not see eye about the land that his grandfather owned. They meet on a very sad day but are instantly drawn to and comfortable with each other. That day starts their destiny. It’s quite a journey. It’s light spice and a beautiful HEA.

I liked Jude & Em... their characters & their story... it was a sweet love story... and I liked how they worked together to heal a gap between the families & set bygones aside.
I really didn't like the whole "call of the mountain" aspect to it.. it was a bit too out there for me.

Emotional, sad circumstances for the protagonists to meet. I like that they went the slow, sweet, supportive route, even if it means starting from afar to get to know each other and further closing the distance the better it becomes between them, despite obvious signs that they're meant to be.
With sweetness, goodness, kindness, one thing doesn't feel appropriate in this story.

Loved this book! Jude and Em were asked to fulfill her dying father’s last wish. I really like how Jude agrees without hesitation because he felt drawn to their property and inna sense, to Em. He was so good and so patient with her while she came to terms with her father’s death and moving back to the mountain. Loved how the mountain brought these two together. Can’t wait for Wyatt's story next!.

The Call strikes again with Jude and Em’s story. Em rushes back home from her life she has built elsewhere when her father fall ill. Sully Wilson’s dying wish is for Jude and Em to marry. This causes mixed emotions as the families have been rivals for years. I enjoyed their journey to finding that a marriage of convenience can become so much more. A lovely heartwarming story.

The author has given us a enemies-to-lovers story that pulls us into the lives of Marion/Em and Jude. The heartwarming story keeps us turning the pages with the "Call of the Mountain", connection, denial, determination and steam.

Wonderful story, Book four in the series, Em and Jude's story. Em's father isn't doing good and he goes to Jude, asks him to take care of her, They get married, They have such a wonderful chemistry, I couldn't put it down,.

I liked seeing these two together, the way they were together, the respect and understanding they showed each other, as well as the acceptance, support and love, they had good support from their families and it was good to find out more Wilson and Cooper history.
