"In the beginning, we were only messing around. One moment, Mel and I were joking about what we'd like to do to him as we sat watching him mark papers through the classroom window. The next, he and I were joking about how oblivious the rest of the school was to our relationship. It was like living inside of a TV show...except, the end credits never came; we just kept pushing the limits, falling deeper and deeper into our own private, blissful universe until, eventually - inevitably - we collided head-first with the real world, and from then onwards, not even laughter could ease the impact of the chaos we'd created..."
Annabel has never had a boyfriend. Melody has had plenty. In fact, most of the girls at St Madeleine's have at least experienced their first kiss. So, when the young new English teacher, Mr Clare, arrives at the school, turning every girl weak at the knees with his deep voice and sparkly-eyed smile, it's no wonder Annabel falls harder than most for his charm.
What Annabel doesn't expect, though, is for her feelings to be reciprocated. But soon she finds herself immersed in a dangerously secret world: a world in which she and Mr Clare forget that rules exist, and spend time after school bonding over their love for Literature, music and - eventually - each other.
Things aren't so wonderful, though, as Annabel quickly realises. Secrets can't be kept forever, especially where jealous best friends are concerned. And when the truth finally emerges, nothing will ever be the same for Annabel, Melody or Mr Clare, again...Annabel has never had a boyfriend. Melody has had plenty. I do believe, quite strongly, books like that, should have some kind of warning like books usually have when they contain graphic sexual scenes in them, curse language etc. This didn't happen in this book. It gives you, the false impression that, it's going to be about a girl and her teacher falling in love.
No, nope, nah.
No. There is no warning. Instead there is cheating (a lot of fucking cheating), back and forth situations (all the time), annoying and dishonest people (most of all the heroine), and unrealistic shit in it.
I will not spent much time to review this. I'll just stress the basics.
Annabelle liks her teacher. Her teacher likes her. They flirt. Nothing surprising or disturbing there, because I knew what I was reading. A forbidden romance, between student and teacher.
Or so I though. Anyway.
They kiss, she wants him, he wants her and she is ready to have sex. So one night, at a school excursion, she snicks to his room and when he is ready to enter her, she is like "No, stop, I'm not ready." That's fine. But the reason she stopped him, is because she had something else in mind. Or someone else, to be exact.
He told her, he loved her anyway. (Nothing wrong with that.)
So, confused as she was, she asks to speak with her best friends brother, Nathan (I hope I got his name right), and he agrees because this fucking guy, is candy.
So, they talk. She tells him a lot, but not who is the guy. And she admits that she wants Nathan to be her first, not her boyfriend, and Nathan likes the idea because he has feeling for her. (This guy is a virgin too, he wants to have sex for the first time, with someone that he loves.) And when he drops her at home, he kisses her, she kisses him back.
And she liked more than she liked kissing her boyfriend.
I started to wonder why in the fucking world, is she with him? Break up with your teacher, and be with the guy you claim you want to have sex for the first time.
It does make sense, doesn't it?
But she doesn't. because, as she said, she loves Nathan but lusts after her teacher.
She went back and forth, back and forth and back and forth for a very long time. She was lying to her boyfriend, she was giving false hope to Nathan that she is going to break up, and she was lying to her friend that liked Nathan as well. And what did she do? She was just keep on being with that boyfriend, while making out with Nathan when she felt like it.
Here though, I would like to say, that Nathan was in the wrong as well. He knew, he was the other guy.
After a while, there was a party and she and Nathan had sex for the first time. The place wasn't ideal, but she was ready, and she wanted him. Some shit happened (as well as some lies, of course) and her boyfriend discovered that she cheated and you know what he cared about?
Yes. He cared about the sex, they didn't have. She told him that she wanted to be experienced first before they fucked(lied again). He asked if she was ready now, and she said yes. He fucked in the classroom and she though it was a rape because she was bleeding and didn't like it.
Now, I can't remember is she asked to stop, but I recall saying yes to have sex. I really don't know what to think, I have to check before anything comes out of my mouth.
Anyway.
Then she goes to Nathan that he is clearly pissed off, with the whole situation but he helps her.
Then we discover that her boyfriend, her teacher, is fucking her ex- best friend, and says that he did it for their relationship, because her friend would talk if he didn't fuck her. That he wants Annabelle and loves her, it doesn't mean a thing that he fucked another student...
So, are you trying to tell me, that this was the only time you did it? That this was your 'sacrifice' for the woman you 'love'?
Come on, now. Lies are boring. Truth, is far more amusing bare and naked, than any lie could ever be. You just like to fuck girls, boy. It's okay, there there, just admit it, be truthful and stop playing 'boyfriend'. Do yourself, be a fuckboy. It's okay, just avoid screwing students. Just a heads up.
At the end police was far up to his ass, but unfortunately he disappeared.
In this story, everyone is to blame.
The heroine was all about her vagina. That was the issue, lets be frank.
Vagina wants Edward.
No.
Vagina wants Nathan.
No, no, no.
Edward.
No.
Nathan.
Edward.
Nathan.
Edward.
Nathan!
Nathan, was aware of everything when they were messing around, even though she was a fucking liar.
As for the teacher, I think I covered it up above.
Her 'best' friend, was an enemy.
Jesus...
Overall, that writing style was good. Very good. But the characters were. Not. Likable. That's that. The summary is misleading, it has almost nothing to do with what's happening.
