Instead, it’s about to expose everything they thought they left behind.
Everly and Julian built something real inside the calm of Blue Lake. But when the outside world starts closing in, the safety they found in each other begins to fracture. Old ghosts resurface. Boundaries shift. And the truth they’ve been running from refuses to stay buried.
New lives. New challenges. The same connection neither of them can walk away from.
Falling in love is easy.
Holding on when everything changes? That’s when love gets messy.
After Waiting For Ever, Falling For Ever is the next chapter of Everly and Julian’s story.
I love how these two continue to choose each other, even when choosing each other isn't easy.
Are they a little impulsive? Absolutely. Are they still figuring out this whole communication thing? Without question. But they're babies. They're learning. They stumble, they trip, they occasionally make me want to grab them both by the shoulders and yell, TALK TO EACH OTHER! But they never truly fall. And when one does stumble, the other is eventually there to pick them back up.
This chapter has Julian taking more of an interest in his career, which unfortunately takes him farther away from Everly and for longer stretches of time than either of them would like. She's also starting to figure out what she actually wants to do. The picture she's had in her head of what #CoupleGoals is supposed to look like is starting to crack and crumble, and she's also dealing with some pretty significant blows from her past.
And then Julie is hit with a major blast from his past that doesn't just rock him to his core. It rocks Everly, too.
Both of them spend a lot of time reflecting on who they are, who they think they are, who they want to become, and (perhaps most importantly) who they see themselves standing next to while they figure it all out.
Now, I have to say...there is a HUGE THING in this one that is 100,000% going to come back and bite Everly in the arse in book 3.
We all know it's coming.
We knew it was coming the second it happened.
We're just sitting here waiting for the inevitable fallout.
And between that and the reveal of Julian's past in this one, I genuinely have no idea what's going to happen in book 3. What I do know is that their chemistry is basically the only thing that has survived this entire series so far completely intact.
So...will it survive this?
I guess we're about to find out.
Amy Hall and Gideon Frost are really knocking it out of the park with this narration. They are so perfect for Everly and Julian. The way they emote and how their voices mix with one another is just perfect. I'm so glad they were able to do all 3 books!
Thank you, CM Wyllie, for the ALC! I cannot wait to jump into book 3 because apparently I enjoy emotionally torturing myself with cliffhangers and impending disaster.
Thank you C.M. Wylie for the ALC of this story. These are my honest opinions.
I will start by saying book 1 of this series finished off so smoothly, it could’ve been a standalone, but I was still very excited for more of Everly and Julian’s story. This second book gave a new bunch of drama for Ever and Julie as their relationship continued to grow and develop. Julian (Julie) is continuing his journey into the online viral social media world and Everly is right by his side. With her past experiences, Everly is naturally timid about Julian becoming more recognizable and famous. She knows first hand the dangers of social media perception.
Everly struggles in this story. She faces jealousy multiple times and her relationship with Julian is tested. I was very pleased with the ending of this book. It left me more curious about the next story in the series as Julie and Ever are beginning a new phase in their relationship.
The narrators did very well. I really enjoyed hearing this story. I found it easy to follow. It was a fun, quick read that could easily have entertained me on a road trip or weekend getaway. At 1.5 speed, the book was less than 6 hours.

****More spoilery thoughts****
I did not care for the cheating moments in this. It’s one of my big “yucks,” but I did continue the story and was pleased with the ending. I really struggled through the party scene with Everly and the horse ranch bit with Julian. The mix of emotions from them both really got on my nerves, but it did make sense for character development and the storyline.
The reveal of Julian’s past….. I did not see that coming. I really liked the start of the drama that caused.
I just loved coming back in Blue Lake again. Oh, how I missed these characters, and C.M. Wyllie really brings the emotions with book two because I was definitely feeling it alright.
Ever and Julian’s journey continues to explore lasting friendships and a beautiful love story, but there are secrets revealed that I didn’t see coming. This book will have you rooting for Ever and Julian and also wanting more of the Blue Lake characters in the future. I know I do!
The second in the series, we get to read more of Julian and Ever’s story.
Full of ups and downs, and surprised you don’t expect, the story makes you feel it all. They’re both complicated and trying to deal with their trauma and make a life for themselves, and we get to see this all.
I can’t wait for the final chapter of their story.
The love between Everly and Julian plays no games, it doesn't cheat, it doesn't lie, it has no cheese or cringe. It's a real, mature, and beautiful relationship that is a pleasure to watch develop and grow in this novel! It is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy!
A great second part of this romance saga. I really enjoyed the continued story and growth of the characters. there was a twist to the story that I'm not so sure about. but overall I really loved the spirit of forgiveness which is a huge theme in this book. there is some smut for spice readers.
Looooove this book! It is the perfect continuation of book 1 & I can't wait to dive into book 3 when it comes out. Love this author & her writing! I highly recommend to all my romance lovers!!
I did not read book 1 in the series. It did feel like the author went over enough of Julian and Everly's backgrounds that you can just jump in to book 2 though readers will definitely need to read between the lines on some things. Now on to the negatives: the knowledge drops were kind of random - like Evvie explains in chapter 5 that Luke Ashley goes by his last name to everyone, except Allie. Or finding out what Via's full name is in chapter 14. In fact, the whole book felt like it was full of personal nicknames and aliases for almost every character. Next, Evvie's 18 (maybe 19?, I think) and Julian is 22. The age gap isn't that big but I found it really weird that Julian emphasized multiple times how mature of a young woman Evvie was. Last, Noah and Seth (new character, I think) are part of a fake frat called BRΩ, when it probably should have been omicron instead of omega.
Now back to the story. What happens when two people with absent parents (by choice or otherwise) and some traumatic things in their past get together? A heap of anxiety and self-doubt. I felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop for most of the book. Thankfully the climax came around 65% in with a fair amount of falling action. I did appreciate that both MCs actively sought help through therapy and implementing what they learned as often as needed.
There's plenty of spice. So much so that some of it felt unnecessary.
Overall though this was an enjoyable read. The author didn't drag out any of the angst. The dual POV also helped me understand the characters and how their past influenced their life and decision making.
Thank you Happily Booked for providing this book for review consideration via BookFunnel. All opinions are my own.
Love is easy. Staying grounded when reality intrudes is not.
Book two picks up after Everly and Julian’s whirlwind beginning and explores what happens when love is no longer sheltered by the calm of Blue Lake. The outside world begins to creep in, old trauma resurfaces, and both characters are forced to confront who they are outside of each other.
This installment introduces real conflict and a genuinely surprising plot twist tied to Julian’s past, which finally gives the story stakes and forward momentum. The decision to slow down, step back, and allow Everly space to find herself felt like a necessary and healthy shift.
However, the pacing struggled. The book is significantly longer than it needed to be, and much of the middle is filled with repetitive internal dialogue, extended sexual scenes, and low-impact moments that stall the story. At times, it felt like the narrative lost track of its own continuity — including repeated “first” declarations that had already occurred in book one and inconsistencies surrounding a previously established school counselor.
Because of the length and repetition, the emotional payoff didn’t always land as strongly as it could have. This story may have benefitted from being combined with the first book into a single, more tightly edited novel to avoid confusion and maintain narrative cohesion.
That said, the emotional foundation between Everly and Julian remains strong, and the ending clearly sets the stage for a third book. Readers invested in their relationship will likely continue, though this installment may test patience for those who prefer tighter pacing and clearer structure.
"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” Falling for forever delivers a deeply emotional romance that captures how love can feel both safe and terrifying at once. The story follows Everly and Julian, two characters shaped by painful pasts, Everly by relentless online bullying and Julian by the loss of someone he cherished. From the beginning, their connection is rooted in vulnerability, honesty, and undeniable chemistry. The novel thoughtfully explores the impact of trauma on intimacy and trust. Everly’s moments of emotional overwhelm feel authentic, and Julian’s steady patience and devotion create a tender, believable dynamic. Their relationship isn’t flawless, but it’s beautifully gentle, resilient, and full of heart. Told through dual points of view, the book offers an intimate look at their fears, hopes, and the depth of their attachment. This perspective enhances the emotional stakes, allowing readers to feel just how much they mean to one another and how deeply they fear losing that bond. The strength of their connection shines through in every quiet gesture and every charged moment between them. Yet the lingering question remains: can their love mend old wounds, or will the past threaten to pull them apart? A moving, heartfelt read and I absolutely can’t wait for book 3.💛
Returning to Everly and Julian’s world felt like slipping back into something familiar but deeper, heavier, and far more intense. I was already invested after book one, but this sequel completely pulled me under. Their connection is undeniable, but this story goes beyond chemistry it digs into the messy, painful, and beautiful parts of loving someone while still carrying old wounds.
This installment leans hard into emotion. The way trauma, healing, and desire are woven together feels raw and honest, and some moments genuinely hit me in the chest. Love here isn’t just soft or romantic; it’s complicated, sometimes overwhelming, and deeply human. And yes… the spice absolutely delivers. If you liked the heat in Book One, Book Two turns it all the way up.
What really stood out was the tension simmering beneath every page. You can feel something coming, but you won’t be ready for it when it hits. That twist completely caught me off guard and changed everything I thought I knew about their journey.
By the time I reached the end, I was emotional, satisfied, and already desperate for the next chapter in their story. This is a small-town romance filled with passion, healing, and surprises that linger long after you close the book.
Thank you so much to @happilybookedpr and @cmwyllieauthor for the #gifted e-ARC!
This book completely wrapped itself around my heart and refused to let go. Falling for Ever is one of those quiet, emotional romances that sneaks up on you and suddenly you realize you’re fully invested — in the characters, their pain, and their healing.
The found family element is beautifully done and adds so much warmth and depth to the story. You can feel how desperately these characters need connection, safety, and someone who truly sees them. The trauma bonding is handled with care, showing how messy and non-linear healing really is, especially when love enters the picture.
I loved the dual POV — getting inside both heads made the emotional moments hit harder and the romance feel more real. This isn’t an instant-fix love story; it’s about choosing each other while still learning how to survive your own past. The healing romance aspect is absolutely the heart of this book, and it’s done in such a tender, believable way.
If you love emotional depth, slow healing, strong found family vibes, and a romance that feels earned, this one is a must-read. Easily a 5/5 for me, and I’ll definitely be thinking about these characters long after the last page. 💙📖
After reading Book 1 of the For Ever Series, I was super excited for this book!! In the beginning of the book, I felt excited to jump back into the relationship of Julian and Everly, picking up where book 1 left off. The reason I’m giving this book 4/5 stars is because the next bit of the book felt like it was full of some unnecessary detail and jumping around in regards to each character and their background. The in depth explanation of each time it got spicy felt like a bit much as well.
However, I reached the mid point of the book and oh my goodness I had a pit in my stomach. I knew the plot twist was coming and it had me wanting to keep going. I couldn’t put the book down. I started finding my eyes wandering the pages because I was so excited to read more and find out what was happening that I would skip my current line that I was on, taking it a bit longer to read than usual 😜
All I can say is the second half of this book was so incredible that I’m glad I stuck it out and can’t WAIT to hear about the story of Julie and Ever in book 3!
Falling For Ever is an emotional romance about how love can feel safe and scary at the same time. Everly and Julian are the two characters who have been hurt in their past. Everly because of online hate and bullying and Julian because he has lost someone he loved.
From the very start, their relationship is full of passion and honesty. The book shows how trauma affects the way people react. Everly sometimes gets overwhelmed by her feelings during close moments, and Julian always comforts her with love and patience. Their love isn’t perfect but it is soft, caring, and very strong.
The book is written in dual pov's so we understand how much they care for each other and how afraid they are of losing the other.
I love how their bond is powerful in every small touch and every deep moment. But there is always a question in the background can their love heal their past wounds or will those wounds tear them apart?
In this second book of the trilogy, we continue following Julian and Everly’s story.
At the beginning of this book, everything is perfect for them. They are having the best life, living and working together, but they are both so young and innocent that, one way or another, that bubble would burst.
It is true that they are cute together. As said before, Julian sees Ever, but he is also dealing with things he doesn’t like to talk about.
He doesn’t think he is worthy of Ever, he doesn’t think he deserves her, and that sometimes makes him push her away.
Did I think it was necessary for Julian’s ex-girlfriend to return from the d*ad? Absolutely not. Did I like the drama? Also no. The fact that Ever ran away and kissed another guy and didn’t tell Julian? Hated it.
But then everything was right, they talked a little, and life moved on. All in all, I don’t think this book was necessary for the story, so I will give it 3 ⭐️🏋🏼☀️
Falling for Ever is the second book in the For Ever series and continues Julian and Everly’s journey as they build a life together at Blue Lake. I really enjoyed the glimpses into their pasts and seeing how their previous experiences shaped the trauma they both carry. While the beginning felt a little slow for me, the story truly picked up as Julian showed so much growth — both in his career goals and in the future he envisions with Everly.
Everly also faces several challenges toward the end of the book, and although she begins discovering new parts of herself, I’m hoping to see her fully spread her wings in book three. One thing that never falters is the chemistry between these two — both emotionally and physically. Their relationship is built on a deep trauma bond, unwavering love, and a connection that keeps you invested in their story. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how their journey concludes in the final book.
This book adds a wonderful addition the for ever series, Julian and everly still struggle with their past and this books goes more in depth with what each one is struggle with in the new chapter of their lives. Julian is tackling a social media experience and everly is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life as far as schooling and who she as a person. The whole book is basically everly and Julian exploring their new options in life with steamy spice. it does kinda get a little repetitive to me at times but the writing is good. I like the 1st book better but I really enjoy the ending to this one it’s not a typical happy ever after in my opinion with everly needing to know who she is on her own without Julian it’s like watching a married couple rediscover themselves after years of marriage and I was here for it.
🌅 Falling For Ever by @cmwyllieauthor is now available!
What to expect: 🌅Dual POV 💙Found family 🌅Secret past 💙Trauma bond 🌅Healing romance 💙Small town aesthetic 🌅Lake town aesthetic 💙Mental health rep 🌅Soft cliffhangers 💙No 3rd act breakup
I loved book 1 in the For Ever Series and couldn’t wait for book 2 to continue the story and it did not disappoint the chemistry between Everly and Julian as a so good but this is also an emotional read that really pulls the reader into the story. It is such a heartfelt story I felt very emotional when I finished and cannot wait for book 3 ❤️ If you haven’t read book 1 you could start with this one it does give info to bring the reader up-to date but you would miss out on the emotion of the journey so far.
This was such a great continuation of a relationship that’s still growing and evolving. I loved that things got messy, complicated, and real instead of taking the easy route. The story kept moving forward while tying everything together in a way that felt perfect.
I can honestly say I’ll forever think of this book whenever someone mentions a “plot twist.” Just when I thought I knew what was coming, I was hit with the real plot twist, and I could not believe what I was reading.
I found myself shaking my head, thinking, there is no way this is happening right now, and more than once I caught myself telling the characters, “Don’t do it!” out loud.
This book kept me hooked from beginning to end, and now going to jump into book three immediately because I have to know what happens next!
This book was such a sweet, addictive read. I fell right into Everly and Julian’s story and honestly didn’t want to climb back out. The character growth, the tension, the emotion — it all hits exactly where it’s supposed to without giving too much away.
I loved how real and human these characters feel. The small-town vibes, the sunsets, the messy-but-beautiful moments… it all pulled me in and kept me flipping pages way too fast. This series just keeps getting better, and now I’m absolutely counting down for book 3.
Huge thank you to C.M. Wyllie and Happily Booked PR for the chance to read this ARC — I’m obsessed
I received Falling for Ever by C.M Wyllie as an Arc and am writing this review voluntarily.
I read Book 1 before I jumped into this Arc and both books had me hooked. The continuation of Julian and Everly's story from book 1 answered all the questions I had swirling around my head, and am sooooo glad I had book 2 straight away. The twist (who even seen that coming) had me pacing the floor as I was reading, almost holding my breath to see what lay in wait on the next page. I am definitely hooked on their story now, and cannot wait to see what lies in store in the next book.
I would definitely recommend reading Waiting For Ever and Falling For Ever - both books were brilliant and kept me hooked from the first page.
Falling For Ever is book 2 in the For Ever series.
I feel like, having read book 1, this one has a lot of going back in the story. That's perfect if you are jumping in the story without any previous knowledge, but for me it felt like reading a summary of book 1 on more than one occasion.
Anyway, I liked getting to see Everly's and Julian's story move forward, with new problems but the same unwavering love.
There's quite a bit of spice, and at times it felt more like a way to fill up pages than plot related, making it feel like the story was moving into smut territory.
I really enjoyed diving back into Everly and Julian’s story in this second book of the series. Picking up after the first book, it felt like reconnecting.
What stood out most to me was how emotional and raw their journey felt. Both characters carry heavy pasts and those experiences shape how they handle love and trust. Their connection is passionate but also tender, and I loved seeing how Julian’s patience balanced Everly’s vulnerability.
The dual point of view worked beautifully, letting me see both sides of their emotions.
The twists in the second half had me racing through the pages, needing to know what would happen next.
Thank you to C.M. Willey and Happily Booked PR for my copy of Falling for Ever to read and review.
I devoured this book in two sittings - it was that good.
Although I do still have mixed feelings about the relationship (logistically speaking), it is so entertaining. Taking the speed and trauma-bonding out of it, these two are perfect for each other and I love them together.
I can’t talk about my favorite part of the book without spoilers, so you’ll have to read to find out. But man, what a roller coaster.
I just started book 3 - the conclusion of the love story - and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
Thank you to the author for the chance to listen to the audiobook early. The same narrators are back, and they absolutely crushed it just like they did in book one.
It was so good to dive back into Blue Lake and catch up with Ever and Julian. Book two really puts you through the emotional wringer with all its twists, turns, and unexpected secrets. I love how real and mature their relationship feels! There’s zero cringe here - just the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Both of them are working through some heavy trauma, which makes watching them grow together and building a life so much better. Honestly, I’m obsessed with this whole crew and cannot wait for the final book.
I thought the first book was good! Let me tell you—this one is even better! If I could give it a hundred stars I would.
This author has the most amazing ability to bring her characters to life like no one I have ever known.
If you want a book that will surprise you at every turn then Everly and Julian’s story is for you. It is definitely a must-read.
It s truly a love story that will have you flipping pages quickly to find out what happens next. You will end up stalking the author’s social media wondering when the next installment will be released.
I love Ever and Julie's story as a whole. This second book fell a little flat for me. it felt linger than it needed to be. it did pick up towards the middle end with the big twist that happened (wont spoil anything!) Theres clearly going to be a final book but i feel like this may have been able to be condensed.
Julian is book boyfriend GOALS! he loves Ever so much and always has her best interest at heart. my heart broke for him in this book.
This book absolutely grabbed my heart and never let it go. It was so sweet and heartwarming. The characters in this book are endearing to say the least. I love them all. And the depth of their connection to each other is beautiful. I really appreciate how their love and relationship isn’t a fix all for any problems. They still have issues and miscommunication and have to work through things from their past and present. The way the book ended was beyond sweet. These two are meant to be and are absolutely perfect for each other. I need to know how this will end.
Well well well… C.M. wyllie has done it again! A spicy love story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to read more. There’s a plot twist that will make you question everything you thought you knew about Ever and Julie. It will leave you feeling like you got hit by a truck, but then put back together, respectfully😉 It took me a total of 3 days to finish this book. I loved this read and you will too!! Can’t wait to see what happens next in book 3🤭
I love book two in the For Ever series. #CMWyllieAuthor gives us more time with Julie and Ever, and I enjoyed getting to know them better. The only reason I have not rated this a 5 star is because of the spice. I love the story and characters, but I am not a fan of spicy. That being said, it is NOT going to stop me from reading book 3 as soon as I can get my hands on it!💕🤓 Speed it up, Ms Wyllie! Please!!🤓
