Rate this book

I love the metaphor of the sakura for understanding the cycle and process in dream manifestation. 🌸🌸“Nurturing a wish is like encouraging a tree to blossom.” ♥️ The questions in “the blossom” and “your wish” exercises are very helpful and refreshing. I especially love the daily rituals and the five elements of life (Godai). A lot of spiritual books teach us how to enjoy journeys to our dreams (destinations), but this book gives us insight both in Japanese philosophy and how to apply it in our daily lives. Pre-celebrate your dreams before they can happen. Highly recommend this book! 📕

The art of manifestation should be understood here as a preparatory celebration for a desire to come true, and it will come true precisely because we have imagined it so clearly and have already celebrated as if it had just happened. All sprinkled with ideograms and Zen philosophy. Enjoyable, but certainly not the first book of its kind.

I received a digital advanced complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

I enjoyed this beautiful little book very much. In brief, Yoshuku is fundamentally a discussion of traditional Japanese wisdom and it's application to contemporary life. The term manifestation is perhaps problematic. Readers looking for a formulaic guide to personal realization or a self-help manual may be disappointed. Yoshuku is perhaps best understood as an invitation to explore the fertile ground of the spirit from a Japanese perspective. What does it mean to blossom in contemporary life?

The book is beautifully decorated with the author's calligraphy and includes a useful glossary of Japanese terms. The book is at times poetic, beautifully written and easy to comprehend. I recommend it!

"Yoshuku – the Japanese art of manifesting through gratitude and pre-celebration – offers a path forward. Steeped in ancient spiritual beliefs and practices, Yoshuku unveils the secrets of a long-established Japanese approach to bringing your deepest wishes to fruition."

I wanted to like this book more than I did, as I was looking for more Japanese spiritual inspiration. I tried this in audio and found it a difficult medium for the book and wasn't fond of the author doing the narration. I think I may try again later with the print format of the book.

Thank you, Net Galley, for an advanced review copy.

A practical and beautifully illustrated guide, "Yoshuku" by Azumi Uchitani explores the ancient Japanese art of manifestation and pre-celebration. The book encourages personal growth through hardship, emphasizing gratitude for future outcomes and the importance of community connection. Uchitani teaches readers to blend ancient rituals with modern life, advocating mindfulness over relentless pursuit in the manifestation process. While rich in historical context, some may find the text dense and suggest incorporating interactive activities to enhance understanding and relevance.

"Yoshuku" is a wonderful read to start the year — meditative and refreshingly simple. It brings everything back to the essentials: what truly matters, what grounds us, and how we can move forward using those fundamentals. The tone is calm yet motivating, an easy companion for reflection and realignment. Perfect for anyone wanting to begin the year with clarity and purpose.

Bredere invalshoek over manifestatie.

I picked up this book when I was in a state of emotional distress, when I was feeling anxious and worried about my life. This book provided me with much comfort in the Japanese teaching that the author shares. The book is provides great guidance and reminder that we can still be optimistic even when life gets hard and to be grateful for what we have around us. I'm so glad I picked up this book and I'll be re-reading it whenever I need a pick me up
