Dr. Conrad has served in pastoral ministry since 2003 and in urban Asia since 2011 in church planting and leadership training. He, his wife, and their four children squeeze into a 700 square-foot apartment where he seizes rare moments of quiet to write amidst homeschooling, a cacophony of musical instruments, and the steady stream of visitors they so enjoy having in their home.
So powerful and inspiring! A must-read for missionaries and future missionaries. Not only does the book provide snapshots of 31 missionaries (some well-known, others not-so-much), but it also provides a list of other recommended biographies, a chart of influence tracing the chronological line and interconnection of these missionaries, and a summary chapter helping the believer take his next step in pursuing the individual will of God for his life.
Everyone faces decisions on a regular basis, many small, some life changing. As Christians we often find ourselves asking “What does God want me to do?” Daring Decision presents critical decision making moments in the lives of 30 missionaries. While certainly we shouldn’t make a certain choice just because someone from the past says so, their lives are examples of how those who love God responded to life’s twists, turns, forks, and roadblocks.
This is the third book in the series, but they can be read in any order. The author also includes an excellent “Missionary Biography Checklist” in the back for further reading.
Given the emphasis on decision making, I think this book would make an excellent graduation gift.
