Secrets of the Icewomen offers excellent insights from a female perspective for anyone curious about the Wim Hof Method (WHM) and its potential benefits for women’s health. Although I haven't explored many aspects of the WHM myself, I can vouch for the benefits of something as simple as turning down the heat in your shower. Yes, it takes a bit of time to get used to the frigid temperature, and it can be quite a jolt to your system, but it’s also invigorating and leaves you feeling refreshed and energized.
The book dives into the science behind the method, presenting useful statistics and actionable methodologies that readers can incorporate into their lives. The insights into how cold exposure and breathwork can support hormonal balance and overall well-being are particularly compelling. However, at times, the book can feel a bit dry and overly dense with statistics, which detracts from its accessibility and made the reading experience less engaging—hence my three-star rating.

Wow! What an excellent read! Very good structure of information, science, and method. Lovely personal anecdotes, and testimonials. A great read for anyone, I learned so much about how a practice that is very personal for me can be different for women. Lots of wisdom in here. For me it opened my eyes to some of the unique challenges women face in accessing such a power method. Hopefully it will make me a better instructor of the method.

Goed boek met waardevolle informatie voor vrouwen die zich willen verdiepen in de wereld van ademwerk, koudetraining en mindset. Het leest soms wat stug door de vele voetnoten en 'Uit onderzoek blijkt dat...'. Bovendien wordt er relatief veel in vakjargon geschreven, dus voor absolute beginnelingen leest dit boek niet prettig. De boodschap was halverwege het boek kraakhelder en motiverend, maar het einde vond ik een beetje slap waardoor de motivatie daalt. Desondanks mooie inzichten uit kunnen halen!

I loved the research and detail that not onlyInto the I’ve method itself and its benefits, but also the history involved in both the method and even the fight for research to be made on women. What an empowering book, both in terms of the info readers are now armed with, and also the Wim Hof method itself!

Yes, the gorgeous Dutch authors lying in a tub of ice and flowers with great big smiles on the cover is a tad intimidating, but I am willing to give this a shot. Why not. Lets trip my body out with cold exposure!
FULL of detail and information for beginners into body healing!!! Loved the bit on kids. Tons of research and references. Only bummer was the QR code does not load a 30 Day printable and I cannot seem to find one anywhere on the internet 🙁
