This book was just..annoying. Multiple phrases repeated over and over. Insipid characters. The main ideea was very interesting but the execution was just, as I have said in the beginning, annoying.
I just thought I loved book one! Make me a Sinner took it to whole other level! Like melt into the sheets! And gives "Mine" a whole other meaning in itself. These books are a must read.
This conclusion to Set and Serena’s story was an intense rollercoaster of obsession, passion, violence, mythology, and chaos. Dark romance readers who enjoy morally gray characters, dangerous devotion, mafia tension, and emotionally addictive storytelling will absolutely devour this duet.
What I enjoyed most was how the story blended mythology and the chaos of the gods into the emotional intensity of the relationship itself. The chemistry between Set and Serena remained explosive from beginning to end, while the constant danger and violence kept the tension high throughout the story.
This series was dark, seductive, psychologically gripping, and nearly impossible to stop reading once I started. Even when the relationship crossed into toxic and chaotic territory, I still found myself completely invested in where their story would end.
If you enjoy dark romance with obsessive love, high stakes, emotional turmoil, mafia violence, and mythology woven throughout, this duet delivers all of it beautifully
⭐️ 1.5/5 Stars DNF at 60% I really wanted to love Make Me a Sinner but this one was a huge disappointment for me. While the premise still had so much potential, the story felt repetitive and dragged on far longer than it needed to. Instead of building meaningful tension or developing the relationships, it seemed to rely on the same conflicts over and over again. The characters also felt frustratingly stagnant. I kept waiting for emotional growth and stronger connections, but many of the interactions felt forced or lacked the depth I was hoping for. Some of the decisions made by the characters didn’t feel believable, making it difficult to stay emotionally invested. I had to DNF. To me, the repetition and lack of relationship growth made this a hard read. Not even the plot could keep me turning pages at that point. Unfortunately, this sequel didn’t live up to my expectations, and it left me feeling disconnected from a story that had so much promise.
Set would hunt Serena to the ends of the earth. And that is exactly what he intends to do. She is his by body, blood and soul, and that's the way it will stay. She needs to remember she promised him, and a man like Set will not accept it breaking.
“Set, destroyer of my fears. Creator of my dark fantasies. The only god this sinner will ever belong to.”
If I thought Set had a chokehold on me from book 1, that is nothing compared to this book... be still my beating heart!!! Obsession meets a new twisted level in this book. Goodbye to the slow burn we jump straight in and I am not complaining. AT ALL.
Extensive trigger warning menu (even heavier than the first if thats possible) so you know the drill peeps, give them a read through before delving in!
Make Me a Sinner is a masterclass in dark romance. M.O. Absinthe weaves a gritty, captivating story that hooks you from the very first page and refuses to let go. What I loved:
The Dynamic: The push-and-pull between the main characters is elite. The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
The Writing: It’s atmospheric, raw, and doesn't shy away from the darker aspects of the plot.
The Pacing: There’s never a dull moment; the stakes feel high throughout the entire book.
It’s unhinged in the best way possible. If you are a fan of morally gray characters and intense, boundary-pushing romance, do yourself a favor and pick this up. Just make sure to read the author's note and content warnings first!
I loved Serena and Set's story. I really enjoyed reading this, I only gave 4 because I wanted more of the world building, I wish I could of been more immersed into their world. Also I felt like I needed a little more from the ending for Set and Serena. I'm hoping the next books that come out explain more about the metal used and who knows about them enough to use the metal because it just dropped off quickly at the end. Im also looking forward to hearing more about Thantos, Serena standing up to him and his reactions were intriguing, and I want to know more.
Definitely better than the first, but still not enough to get 5 stars from me. I do believe Set would do whatever it takes for Selena, and I believe she finally realizes that too. I’m curious to see if Halloween is mention in the next duo, because I feel like that’s a pretty big moment! Excited for the next duo and to read about another brother.
…But he grew on me. And I found myself really liking him and I kind of felt bad for him at the beginning. It didn’t take me long to finish this book. It was a quick, fun read. The story was well written. The spice is spicy! And I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
Although the first book was really good, the love that grows in this one was everything and more than I could have imagined. And the declaration at the end of their love, I have no words!
S& S have reconnected and their journey to a sort of hea reveals secrets, dark desires , enemies are a plenty as is the heat between the two MCs. Love this duet. Set really is a little devil 😈🥵
I liked this book. It's a was a good read. It was a lovely way to end the set of books. Again the cover doesn't do it justice but it's worth the read. I liked the plot and the characters. The little surprise at the end, I wanna know who did it. Definitely going to be reading more of her books.
OK, I really gave this book a chance. Way into 200 pages and I had to stop. The author could have easily added 50 pages to the first book and be done. So disappointed.
I was so anxious to read Make Me a Sinner by M. O. Absinthe after that jaw-dropping cliffhanger in Make Me Sin, the first book in this duet. The wait was worth every second because this second book slides right in where the first one left off, and it was incredibly gratifying to see the story continue without missing a beat. Set did not disappoint when it came to his stalker tendencies. Everything that made me fall for his character in the first book was amplified here. He's possessive, obsessive, protective, and completely devoted in a way that had me hooked from beginning to end. One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Serena's awakening and her crossover to the dark side as she finally embraced her true self. Her growth felt authentic, powerful, and so satisfying to experience. Seeing her step into her power while accepting who she really is made her journey unforgettable. I also loved every little kinky thing Set did to help Serena discover herself and fully embrace the woman she was becoming. Their chemistry remained intense throughout the story, and their connection only grew deeper as the book progressed. This duet gave me everything I wanted—an addictive storyline, unforgettable characters, emotional growth, obsession, devotion, and plenty of heat. I honestly couldn't put it down. And I promise, if this duet ever becomes a movie, I will be front and center for the experience. No questions asked. M. O. Absinthe delivered an incredible ending that left me completely satisfied and already wanting to reread the entire duet.
This one was much better than the first one, but the ending felt rushed. And the fact that this is the end of Set and Serena’s story when new dangers were introduced in the last few chapters? Come on. Who shot Set? What was the metal? Lots of questions that I’m sure will probably be addressed in the other novels, but still. Also, seeing Serena actually become immortal would’ve been cool. Even if it was just an epilogue a century later. So many things left hanging.
But the writing was much, much better. There were moments when it was still hard to get, but I didn’t have to force myself to keep going. And I appreciate that the author didn’t use as many exclamation points this time around.
All in all, a fun, quick read. Set is a new book boyfriend for sure.

I absolutely loved Serena and Set’s story! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5🌶️🌶️🌶️ (only cuz I wanted more!!)
Even though it felt like we were {almost} starting over with their story - the expedited timeline worked for me. We got the “I’ll find you anywhere” energy from Set and Serena had the whole “I shouldn’t have these feelings for him, but in can’t control it anymore”. There were a few times I wish Serena would take three steps back every time she took a step forward, but she got there eventually and it was worth the wait!
I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of Set’s siblings. They brought some levity and humor that I appreciated. I’m glad the epilogue gave the answer to the question that was burning in my mind the entire book. This was a satisfying HEA for them - although I wouldn’t have minded reading about how the events on Halloween played out!!
I was not ready for the story to end, so I am beyond thrilled to see that while their main story may be over, their universe is just getting started!!!
Det kunne have ødelagt hende. Det kunne have sendt hende tilbage.
Intensiteten stoppede aldrig helt.
