This is a nice Christmas story with a few Christmas miracles added in. I liked the love story between Becky and Tim. Becky is a widow with 3 of her own children and then her brother and sister in-law die so she takes on their child. Making Becky a single mum with 4 kids. She works so hard at giving them all they want and just trying to keep her head above water. Tim is a baseball coach for her nephews team and he really likes her but she feels he deserves better than a single mum with 4 kids. Tim is lovely, and won’t take no for an answer.
I have been reading the Krewe of Hunters series for years. This book is different as it about a woman who gives everything to others but doesn't expect much for herself. It was a nice change. I enjoyed Becky and her children and her nephew and his love for baseball. Enter Tim one of the baseball coaches. It was a fun and quick read with good characters.
Becky is a widow with three children. She also has her orphaned nephew Davey living with her. She is trying the best she can to maintain a decent life for her and the kids. She works as an actress at the local mall doing whatever they need like playing a dancing reindeer or Santa. Her septic tank needs to be replaced and she doesn't know where the money is going to come from. Becky is worn out and lonely. She needs a man. She usually gets dates with duds except for one man she could have loved, Tim. Tim is Davey's baseball coach. She asks him to help get Davey on the team. That is all he wants for Christmas except for a Babe Ruth baseball card, which she cannot afford. Davey ends up getting help from Tim and a "special" friend. Becky wants Tim back in her life but she doesn't see how it will work. Will they get what they want for Christmas?
Good book, cute not really memorable. However maybe I have this opinion simply because I am not a HUGE baseball fan. There is a LOT of baseball talk and Babe Ruth in it, and I really don't care to go that in depth with baseball.
On the other hand, the storyline was good, just cute and you can guess what is going to happen so that bums me out a little when I read.
It didn't really even seem like Christmas, maybe because it took place in Florida I don't really know but I wouldn't classify it as a good book to get you in the mood for Christmas.
I loved the concept of this book. Who believes that your hero comes back to give you the courage to step up to the plate. This is a story or loss. Becky whose husband died early, so she is raising her 3 kids by herself. Then her brother and his wife die. She is also raising her nephew Davey. It is also a story about the miracle of Christmas. Will Davey make the baseball team? Will Becky allow herself to fall in love again? Will she get along with her sister better?
I absolutely loved this Christmas romance. While the heroine seemed to be a walking disaster area, it had a bit of depth to it, and a lot of Christmas miracles in it too. It touched my heart and I was routing for them all the way.It was fun and moving at the same time. This is also a part of "All I Want For Christmas" Bundle. I've given it a 5 * rating.
I've never read any of Heather Graham's writing before. This was a great one to start with. It has humor, family, love and the magic of Christmas in it. Who doesn't like the thought of a miracle at Christmas--one that helps a little boy achieve 2 wishes, one for himself and one for his Aunt. I'd definitely recommend this book and plan on reading more from her.
This was a really awesome and sweet story about beleiving in yourself, careing about others, going for it what ever it may be, and that wishes sometimes do come true. I loved it!
Nice Christmas story, a woman tries to keep her house in order, manage finances, keep her nephew happy as well her children, meets a new man and maybe even a ghost too.
I liked this. It was a feel good short story. I would recommend reading it if you are looking for something that will make you feel good. There is a sad back story, but the ending is nice.
