One night. One secret. One girl who never came back. The island welcomed four wealthy teenagers that week. By midnight, only three remained.

Seventeen-year-old Lexi and her rich friends arrive at an adults-only resort in Turks and Caicos, determined to escape their parents—and indulge in sun, sand, and wild nights.

But when a playful flirtation at a foam party goes too far, Lexi flees back to her room, certain she’s being followed. Moments later, she vanishes into the darkness of the beach without a trace.

Local authorities dismiss her disappearance as teenage drama. But vacationing FBI agent Eva Rae Thomas can’t ignore the chilling surveillance footage featuring a notorious millionaire playboy, desperate denials that sound a little too sincere, and a group of privileged friends whose stories don’t quite match.

As turquoise waters conceal dark secrets, Eva Rae races to uncover whether Lexi fell prey to a predator—or to something far more personal.

I enjoyed this one! This was my first book by this author & I don’t realize it was part of a series. Now I want to go back through and read the others!

If you liked the Netflix series Inventing Anna, I feel like you would like this book. It had the same type of wealthy people vibes.

The ending though….

Solid 3 star read

Thank you NetGalley and dreamscape select for letting me listen to this alc early!

A story of grand theft and vengeance; of murder, its investigation, and justice. I would like to have found out more about how the murderer's family reacted to Thomas' actions, especially in light of the threats that the murderer had made to her.

Thank you Dreamscape Select for the ALC!

I enjoyed this. The plot was smooth and there weren't a lot of wild twists.

The characters were likeable and interesting. I like that we got the perspectives of the FBI agents, plus the perspectives of the teenagers involved. This was a good murder mystery.

I feel like this can be described as Inventing Anna + Gossip Girl.... liars and high school rich kids!

Also, that ending was crazy! I wasn't expecting that 😱

3.5 ⭐️
Liar Liar is well written, and the author clearly has a talent for creating dramatic, high-society tension. The tone and atmosphere of the story really reminded me of the TV show Gossip Girl, with its secrets, rumors, and complicated social dynamics. If you enjoy stories filled with scandal and interpersonal drama, this style will likely appeal to you.

Unfortunately, I personally had a hard time getting into the book. While the writing itself was strong, the story never fully pulled me in, and I struggled to feel invested in what was happening. It had the right ingredients for a compelling read, but it just didn’t quite click for me.

Overall, it’s a solidly written book that will probably work better for readers who enjoy Gossip Girl–style drama, even though it wasn’t the right fit for me.

I didn't realize this was a series when I started it, but I don't think it was an issue hopping in here. The story was very well developed and the characters were fantastic. This was a wonderful thriller that kept me guessing and engaged throughout. The audiobook narration was fantastic.

I enjoyed this book but the ending had me gritting my teeth. only because I have to wait for the next book to come out, before I can find out what happens. Talk about leaving your readers wanting more. The main story or case in this book does get solved and wrapped up nicely, it's the major plot for the next book that has me wanting more.
Okay the story starts with you believing one thing. Then as it gets going, you are treated to Eva Rae's investigation but it also jumps back in time and gives you the perspective of one of the friends of the missing girl. Revealing a little bit more about the four friends and how they became friends. This does mean the story moves fairly slow but that's only to reel you in and before you know it, you will be hooked and wanting to know what happened to turn things so horrible wrong.
I liked the characters, well as much as the author will let you as she slowly changes your opinion on them. Okay, I will change that to I liked Eva Ray and Matt, who went above and beyond to help someone in trouble. There are good people in the world, although this author has the skill to make you question everything and keep you up reading well past your bed time. I hope the wait for the next book isn't too long.

Eva Rae and Matt are getting a much needed rest before they become grandparents for the first time but things go wrong. A teenage girl has gone missing after attending a party, which her friends left early. The police put it down to youthful indulgence and she will return when the latest conquest kicks her out of bed. Eva Rae isn't so sure and her gut is trying to tell her things don't add up. Like the surveillance equipment being turned off just when she goes missing and for someone on social media all the time to suddenly go dark, it seems suspicious. She also gets the feeling her friends aren't being totally honest. How can Eva Rae relax when something could be terribly wrong?
I liked the narrator. It was amazing how much character and personality she could put into each characters voice, making them individuals.
I was given this review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Wow, what a roller coaster of a ride, a ride that I didn't want to get off. I love Eva Rae when she as at work and I now love her when she is on holiday.
Seventeen year old Emma Worthington, her boyfriend Daniel, Cassandra Hayes, her boyfriend Ethan and Mia Wellington were a close, well established group, all from wealthy families, all students at the prestigious Blackbriar private school, that is until the whirlwind that was Lexi Montgomery joined the school.
Lexi was confident and charismatic, she bewitched Emma who was mesmerised by the way that she splashed money about, her access to limousine's and helicopters at the snap of her fingers etc. When Lexi suggested a girlie break at a luxury resort, fun, sand, sea and alcohol, Emma, Cassandra and Mia tagged along.
FBI Agent, Eva Rae Thomas and her husband Matt, were gifted a well deserved break at the luxury Caribbean resort of Sapphire Bay, before their daughter Christine gave birth, Long suffering, but devoted Matt, was trying his best to get Eva Rae to relax, but when it came to her attention that a young girl was missing from the resort, all bets were off, Eva Rae was straight into work mode.
This story follows the journey of Evan Rae and Matt as they use Eva Rae's investigative skills and Matt's IT skills in order to trace the missing girl.
This story is difficult to put down, it contains brutal murder, where all the clues point to a wealthy, regular visitor to the resort, a man who was known to have a predilection for young girls but Eva Rae's thoughts didn't match with the local police, it has fast action, nail biting suspense and once more Eva Rae's life is in danger. This story is written over two timelines but it flows beautifully, it has well rounded characters and an explosive ending.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

Liar Liar wastes absolutely no time letting you know something terrible has happened. In fact, we basically know what went down almost immediately. The real question is not what happened, but how all the messy details are going to shake out. That structure keeps the pages turning, even if the big shock factor never quite materializes.

There are plenty of characters to hate, which is always a reliable source of entertainment. Wealth, entitlement, bad decisions, and questionable parenting choices abound. At times it feels like a master class in how not to raise privileged teenagers. If you enjoy side-eyeing fictional rich people making terrible choices, you will be well fed here.

This was my first book in the Eva Rae Thomas series, and I had no trouble following along. The investigation is straightforward and accessible, so jumping in at this point did not feel confusing or overwhelming. Points for that.

What did feel a little distracting were the striking similarities to a fairly recent real life scandal involving wealth, lies, and a young woman who reinvented herself. Lexi could very easily have been named Anna and no one would have blinked. The parallels are hard to ignore, which makes parts of the book feel less like a thriller and more like a lightly fictionalized headline recap.

By the end, the messaging about privilege and moral rot becomes a bit heavy handed. We understand what happened. We understand why it happened. We definitely understand the allegory about wealth and consequence, or lack thereof. There is no need to underline it in red pen and read it aloud to the class. Trust the reader. We got it.

Overall, this is a fast, readable installment with enough drama to keep you engaged, even if it does not reinvent the genre. Solid, entertaining, and just a little too eager to explain itself.

Eva Rae and Matt are taking a vacation in an adult only resort on the island of Turks and Caicos. Unfortunately, four seventeen-year-old girls, all with very wealthy parents, have also checked in at the same resort. What should have been a relaxing getaway to a beautiful tropical island soon turns in an investigation when one of the girls goes missing. Eva doesn't believe it is simply a case of teenage drama, although that is the way the local police are treating the case. While surveillance footage showing a billionaire playboy notorious for his interest in young women shows the missing girl in his company for a short time, but the girl's friends are giving conflicting stories, and Eva Rae is drawn into the investigation and is determined to find the truth after the girl's body is found, and the clues don't add up.
I found it nearly impossible to put this book down, even to sleep, and I absolutely love Eva Rae Thomas. These are all utterly fascinating, realistic, and complex characters, even the "bad" guys are just as compelling, and their motives sometimes leave me reeling. I highly recommend this book to any reader who enjoys a heart pounding thrill ride with so many twists in the plot I was kept guessing until the end and gasping in surprise. This book ends with one heck of a cliffhanger, so I am already eagerly awaiting the next one.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by the author.

This book is about a group of rich teenagers on a vacation at a luxury resort. One of the girls is found dead after a strange encounter with a stranger at a foam party the night before. Off duty detective Eva Rae just happens to be vacationing at this resort at this same time and immediately goes to work to find out what happened.

This was the first book I’ve read of this author. I could not stop listening to this book. Each time I had a spare moment, I ran to listen to just a few minutes. The possibility of popping in my earbuds for a quick listen became a constant temptation. This book is non-stop and has no lulls in the plot. I did feel that the further the book went on, the more contrived the story got. However I felt the initial premise was captivating enough to carry me through.

The narrator does a superb job and perfectly fits the tone of the story. She made listening very enjoyable. I was able to distinguish the different characters easily.

This book reminded me of the movie ‘Inventing Anna’. I found myself wanting to go back and re-listen to previous parts with each new piece of information that was revealed. This book keeps you on your toes and keeps you guessing. This book challenges stereotypical characters.
I didn’t love the ending. I felt that it was far fetched, but I understood that it was setting up the premise of the next book.

I’ll be checking out other books by this author. This book needs to have a screen adaptation.

I am so glad I was listening to this as an audiobook because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten anything else done. This was my first book by Willow Rose. Even though it is #19 in a series, I did not feel that I was missing anything.

What starts off as a fun girls trip/getaway quickly turns to a nightmare when one of them doesn't return to their room by the next morning. And while this isn't completely unusual for her, her friends still feel something is different this time.

FBI agent Eva Rae Thomas and her husband are supposed to be on a getaway of their own, away from work and the stress of daily life. But when she gets wind of the missing girl, as well as a feeling that hotel security and local law enforcement aren't putting their full effort into looking for her, Eva takes over.

As the story flips between present time and the past, we learn that not everyone or everything is quite as it seems on the surface.

Thank you to Willow Rose, Dreamscape Select, and Netgalley for the eALC of Liar Liar (Eva Rae Thomas FBI Mystery Book 19) in exchange for my honest review and opinion

Liar Liar by Willow Rose is an enjoyable murder mystery and the nineteenth book in the Eva Rae Thomas FBI Mystery series. Even though it’s part of a long-running series, I read it as a standalone and had no trouble following the storyline or the main characters. That said, it definitely made me curious about Eva Rae Thomas’s backstory—I’m now tempted to go back and read the first eighteen books.

I really liked the structure of the story, which moves between past and present. The shifting timeline gradually reveals what led a group of wealthy prep school girls to an exclusive adults-only resort in Turks and Caicos—and ultimately to one of them going missing.

The ending is a major cliffhanger, and now I’m anxiously waiting for the next book!

The audiobook narration by Rebecca Cade was excellent and truly brought the story to life. The overall production quality was outstanding and made the listening experience even more enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley & Dreamscape Select | Willow Rose for letting me read this ARC.

Story is told in two timelines ~ Present Day as well as Then.
Present Day- takes place at the Luxury Caribbean resort ‘Sapphire’.

Then ~ takes places a few months ago at the prestigious Blackbriar private school where the students are from ultra-wealthy families.

Present Day ~Eva Rae Thomas and partner Matt Miller were given a fabulous gift from Eva Rae’s mother - a well-deserved break at the luxury ‘adults only’ resort of Sapphire Bay, on the tropical island of Turks and Caicos.
Eva Rae’s eighteen year-old daughter Christine is scheduled to have her baby in three weeks, Eva Rae’s mother knows that they will be super busy with grandparent duties soon.

Then ~ Lexi Montgomery is new at Blackbriar and immediately wows everyone. Emma Worthington is the first student to welcome Lexi and introduces her to the other popular Juniors- Emma’s boyfriend Daniel, Cassandra Hayes and her boyfriend Ethan and also Mia Wellington.
Lexi and Emma soon become besties. Lexi wants to treat Emma to a shopping spree and later to a fabulous helicopter ride over Manhattan- Lexi’s treat – right?
Hmmm – We readers soon learn the meaning of the title.
Present Day ~Lexi Montgomery invited Emma Worthington, Cassandra Hayes, and Mia Wellington for a ‘girls’ weekend of fun on a tropical island –yep the very same resort where Eva Rae and Matt were supposed to be on a relaxing getaway.
However instead of the noisy drunk teenagers’ - things get worse when Lexi goes missing.

Eva Rae cannot resist helping as her thoughts goes to her own daughter who is close in age. So with her FBI investigative skills and Matt’s IT abilities, they go into action.

Local police believe it is a case of ‘teenage drama’ perhaps - girls just want to have fun’ in other words nothing serious.
Eva Rae is not as sure especially when the surveillance footage showing a billionaire playboy with Lexi. He is notorious for his interest in young women.
However, Lexi’s friends are giving conflicting stories as to what happened the night she went off without them.

The ending definitely leaves us with wanting more~ However, I have to wait for the next book in this series ~ Eva Rae Thomas Mysteries #20!

I call myself a Willow Rose fan; although I have only read a few in this series and she written over 70 novels as well as several series.

I follow several series with smart strong females- Melinda Leigh’s - Bree Taggert, Lisa Regan’s-Josie Quinn, Linda Castillo’s-Kate Burkholder, Elly Griffiths -Ruth Galloway, and James Patterson’s-Lindsey Boxer. I just added D.K Hood’s- Beth Katz! Now adding Willow Rose’s – Eva Rae Thomas!!

Want to thank NetGalley and Dreamscape Select- Buoy Media LLC for this Audiobook.

Eva Rae and Matt, escaped to the islands for a good rest before their grandchild is born. The purpose was to get some R&R. At the same hotel 4 entitled, wealthy girls are on a break for fun and to help one of them forget a break up. But when one of the girls goes missing, Eva Rae can't help but investigate the disappearance, especially since the police weren't investigating like they should. And when a dead body is found, Eva and Matt dig deeper and find secrets that need unveiling. With so many twists and turns you just can't put this book down. Then you arrive at an ending you just don't expect. This is the 19th book in the series and not only do I highly recommend this addition to the series, but I highly recommend this entire series with each book keeping you on the edge of your seat. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Eva Rae is back and this time she and her partner, Matt, are trying to snatch some R&R from their busy lives before they imminently become grandparents. A family member has treated them to a stay at an extravagant beach resort and Eva Rae has just barely started to relax when another guest disappears. The missing girl, a teenager who arrived with a group of wealthy and privileged teenagers, has made some friends and some enemies and Eva Rae has her hands full deciding which is which. She is determined to solve the mystery and find the girl, dismayed at the indifference and apathy of the area’s police and security force. But as usual, the deeper she digs, the more questions arise. Who is alone with death at dawn?

Liar Liar - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Willow Rose's Liar Liar sees Eva Rae Thomas and her boyfriend Matt Miller on a restful resort holiday. Four self-entitled young 'princesses' are also there for a wild time, to help one friend get over a painful breakup...until she goes missing.
Eva Rae's investigatory skills are needed when a body is found, spoiling their romantic idyll.
The hedonistic holiday ambience turns dark as witnesses hide secrets that Eva Rae and Matt must use their wits to unravel.

Great characters, a paradise island backdrop, and a mesmerising denouement to an action-packed storyline, Liar Liar has them all.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ SO FAR THIS YEAR! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! This was a twisted, fast-paced, interesting read, that I found I did not want to put down! It had a unique plot and well-developed, multi-faceted characters. It was suspenseful, thrilling and addictive! I was glued to my Kindle screen from the first page to the last. If you like unputdownable psychological suspense as much as I do, you CANNOT miss out on reading this book!!!

Thanks NetGalley for the Audio ARC of Liar Liar by Willow Rose, published by Dreamscape Select and narrated by Rebecca Cade.
I enjoyed this audiobook, the characters were great, the narrator did a wonderful job with their voices. I was invested in the story from the first chapter. I liked how the story kept twisting and getting better.
Story is told in the recent past and the present with different POV.

I loved the ending and can't wait for the next book to find out what happens. I didn't realize this was part of a series and is easily read as a standalone.
I would recommend this author and this novel.

Even on vacation, Eva Rae stumbles on a case. While on vacation with Matt, she learns that a young girl has disappeared. Unable to walk away, Eva Rae feels like she needs to help. As she investigates the girls that were with Lexi on the vacation, Eva Rae finds the girls are not a innocent as they pretend. When Lexi's body washes up on the beach, Eva Rae finds herself in danger the closer she gets to the killer. This is an entertaining and suspenseful story the kept me turning the pages. I would recommend it. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this ARC!

This was my first book by Willow Rose! And I'll definitely be back for more of this series.
The narrator did a wonderful job of changing voices for the different characters when needed and providing enough inflection and nuance to make the story engaging.

I was truly sucked in from the word Go! At first the multiple POV and dual timelines threw me and then I realized by the end why this was needed. The book was full of unreliable narrators- but which one was remotely telling the truth. I loved how the Eva and Matt's back story was gently woven through the book and they're real lives were interwoven through the case of the missing girl.

This is a book that I would tell others to read. It was a gentle, kinder thriller/mystery but not so gentle to make it bland. I enjoyed the entire audiobook!

This book was published earlier this month- March 2026. Go check it out through your fave book source!

Liar Liar was a fantastic audiobook experience, wonderfully narrated by Rebecca Cade. Even though this was my first book in the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery series, I jumped right into the story and was hooked from the beginning. The mystery unfolds at a great pace, with plenty of suspense and secrets that kept me guessing. Willow Rose never disappoints, and this one left me excited to dive into more of the series!

Eva Rae Thomas FBI agent finally is convinced to take a vacation. They are at a Caribbean resort when a young girl goes missing. Eva Rae cannot keep herself from investigating. A very riveting story line with twists and turns. The conclusion leaves us with a cliff hanger. Another page turner from Willow Rose.

The police dismiss it but, Eva Rae suspects foul play and investigates. It’s fast paced and very suspenseful. Another nail biter in the amazing series.

This was a fabulous book! I've said it before, Eva Rae Thomas, FBI Agent, Willow Rose, author, just gets better and better. This was a very interesting story about how a person can infiltrate your life and steal your identity and your finances. In real life, this can happen, and it can be devasting.

I gave this a 5 star rating!

This story was okay. I felt that parts of the story were very predictable, and lacked the shock value i would have wanted in this story. The cliff hanger at the end was a more appealing storyline than the one for this book in my opinion. I didn't hate this book, by any means but I don't feel like it will be memorable for me. It was just okay.

The title is deceptive. One can never know who exactly is the liar.
The book is quite interesting and I enjoyed every minute of it. Emma, Lexi and detective Eve all sounded nicely built characters. This is the first time I read about Detective Eve Rae, but I might catch up as I liked this book very much.
The last couple of sentences though amazed me. As if she was not the liar, the detective almost worked for her as if she is a saint and totally innocent.... Care to discover who I am talking about?
