I can't believe it—Jessa Ward, a former flame and the sharp-tongued colleague I once served with as a Navy SEAL, has just been assigned to work with me in Witness Protection. And get this—I’m her boss.
She’s twelve years younger and completely off-limits. My subordinate. But Jessa’s spark threatens to blow through every line I’ve drawn. Her sharp tongue cuts deep. Every glance, every accidental touch—she’s a walking temptation I can’t afford.
For this mission, we’re faking a marriage. But the heat between us? That’s all too real.
Rules blur. Restraint cracks. And the closer we get, the harder it is to remember why we ever walked away.
Outside threats are closing in. Inside, I’m losing ground fast—to the woman I shouldn’t want, and the past I can’t outrun.
Some battles are fought with bullets. This one’s a ticking bomb… and Jessa just lit the fuse.
