Salvar, 12 ára vandræðagemsi, sótti um stöðu skólastjóra því honum fannst það fyndið. En fyrir mistök fær hann starfið. Hann mætir til leiks vopnaður ferskum hugmyndum um hvernig megi gera skólann betri. (Pítsa og kandífloss í hádegismat! Blundtími! Grís í hvern bekk!) Hvað er það versta sem gæti gerst? Sprenghlægileg og hjartnæm verðlaunabók.

On top of that he has won four Edda-awards for his TV-show, Ævar the Scientist.
In 2015, 2016 and 2017 Ævar launched annual nation-wide reading challenges for every child in Iceland between the ages of 5-13. At the end of each challenge five participants are randomly selected and as a reward get to be characters in the book series "The Young Adventures of Ævar the Scientist". Over 177 thousand books were read in the three challenges. In October of 2017 he was nominated for the ALMA (The Astrid Lindgren Memorial) award , as a "Promoter of reading".
He currently lives in Reykjavík, Iceland, with his fiancé and cat (not the same person, though).
