The oldest MacDonald brother meets his match in Catching Sam. Sam MacDonald is a tech billionaire and as such there's always someone out there with a hand out or a get rich scheme or a blackmail plot or looking for a way to snag this eligible bachelor. To say he's mistrustful and downright cynical about the motives of others would be an understatement. Enter one, Annabelle O'Neill, the newest member of his development team. She's talented, beautiful but rather snobbish and aloof. What you don't see is that ynderneath Annabelle lies the Annie that is warm caring, thoughtful and friendly. She's undergone a life transformation and is no longer anyone's doormat. Their first encounter is epic and white hot so color him suspicious when she shows up as the new kid on the block. What he does know is that he finds her irresistible. She tries to keep things professional by keeping Sam at arm's length but the attraction is too potent. Miscommunications and secrets as well as the past rearing it's head derails what has been building between them. But, when she's suddenly in danger Sam stops at nothing to keep her safe.

I had just finished reading book 1, Saving Mitch, which I absolutely loved!! Loved the storyline, all the characters and the humor that made me laugh out loud throughout the book. So I was looking forward to book 2, Catching Sam, thinking it would be more of the same. I was terribly disappointed. It was like a different author wrote this book. Gone were the captivating characters, the engrossing storyline, the humor that, in book 1, made me laugh till I cried!! I get the gist of the story was “trust”, but I’m afraid its lackluster bored me. I hate writing a less than positive review, but I cannot lie. This book left me craving the writing of Saving Mitch. Trust me!

I really liked this story. The heroine was hard to read at times with respect to the man she was falling in love with. But isn't that typical for women? And while he was in lust/love with her from the beginning, he'd been burnt so many times he was gun shy. Cut him some slack already. Then of course you've got her back story and all the incorrect assumptions that add a lot of angst to the plot, but in the end, you can't deny their chemistry and the graphic spices are hot. Clean editing pushed this one to five stars for me.

Running to love

A back story of a leech of a husband who's been in prison for involuntary manslaughter for the past several years sets the heroine of this novel up to be out of the ordinary. The plot continues to take the reader through fairly predictable scenarios, many couched in unfamiliar ways.
An interesting story with strong characters that certainly kept me turning pages to the very end.

Catching Sam

I was bored and looking for something different to read other than my usual sci romances. I am glad I chose this one.

It was heartwarming, sad in a couple chapters and entertaining.
