Sometimes the best gifts aren’t wrapped—they’re written.
In a quiet coastal town, aspiring novelist Caya Blaine has spent years helping everyone else reach their dreams while ignoring her own. When she hires Jude Wintersley, a gifted but disillusioned British editor, their collaboration begins as a work-for-hire…and becomes something far deeper.
Through late-night messages and shared chapters, they help each other rediscover what it means to dream again. Caya learns to stop dimming her light for others to shine at her expense. Jude learns to stop hiding from his own. When they finally meet at Christmastime, both must decide if the story they’ve written together can survive real life beyond the page.
Heartfelt, hopeful, and brimming with quiet holiday magic, Mistletoe Messages is a transatlantic love story about courage, second chances, and the beautiful mess of becoming who you were meant to be.

Caya Blaine has spent years helping everyone else to the point of setting her own dreams and well-being aside. She “meets” Jude Wintersley online when she hires him to edit the novel she’s been writing. Through Jude, Caya finally learns to put her foot down and set limits on the time she’s willing to give others. A friendship becomes strained, but Caya perseveres and devotes more of her time to writing, while also getting to know Jude on a more personal level.
A lovely story about courage, strength, new beginnings, dreams coming true, and finding ones HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A beautifully written Christmas story. The FMC is always giving to others to help them reach their goals. How it's her time. She starts a collab with MMC. They send messages and chapters back and forth to each other. They work their way through the book and into each other's heart. They finally meet at Christmas time, and they decide they want to make the story real for them. It has all the feels! They find each other and so much more along this journey. They had to step out of their comfort zones and begin to dream of the what ifs again. It's magical!
Mistletoe Messages is a charming seasonal read that blends romance, community, and a touch of holiday magic into a feel‑good story that lingers pleasantly after the final page.
I also enjoyed the style in which the story is written. Easy to read & follow. I recommend this story to anyone who likes Christmas & romance.
I did not want this book to end! I love KC Mitchell's writing, but this one really stood out for me. It was the perfect Christmas story with endearing characters, even Chaucer, the pup! I would love to see a Christmas movie made from this novella!
Cute story about long distance nothing to everything? Yes, please! It's an easy, quick read. I enjoyed watching the characters getting to know each other from a distance. Bonus: every book that has a dog in it should have a chapter from the dog's point of view!
