Walking personally with Jesus through childbearing and seeing His promises prevail
“Philippa-Jo unashamedly reveals the full measure of God's promises for pregnancy and childbirth and challenges the reader to settle for nothing less than God's best.”
“It's an absolutely vital book shedding light on the truth of God’s heart for every woman and baby in relation to childbirth.”
“This book is full of sound advice mixed with Godly insights.”
“Philippa-Jo glides effortlessly from tender personal testimonies to inspiring and motivating advice whilst laying a firm foundation of biblical truth which is accessible for all. She is a true spiritual midwife...”
“Philippa-Jo is a pioneer in this area, she writes from personal experience and shares the supernatural testimonies from both of her pregnancies and births. This enables her to speak with confidence and authority, which I found not only encouraging but also challenging.”
I rate this as someone who has read 'Supernatural Childbirth' first. I read 'Supernatural Childbirth' and had exactly the experience I wanted. Going from that book into this one pregnant again and just looking for more encouragement to have a wonderful pregnancy and birth I didn't find this book as encouraging. As a matter of fact I felt it bred some fear. This book has some wonderful suggestions of things to believe for and even some things you can do to be in God's Presence throughout pregnancy but I felt the encouragement was outweighed with the fact that you 'may not' get that supernatural pregnancy or birth. It was very much a 'you can believe for...' 'but you may not get it....'. After reading this book I feel as though I now need to re read Supernatural Childbirth in order to rebuild my faith.' 'Supernatural Childbirth' was very much 'You can have what you believe God for if you have complete faith' and 'Pregnancy in His Presence' is more 'You can have what you believe God for, but it may not happen and if it doesn't that's fine'.... not very faith building. I also found some of the scripture suggestions at the back of the book a little out of context or not encouraging e.g Scriptures about fear Jeremiah 42:16- Then the sword you fear will overtake you there, and the famine you dread will follow you into Egypt, and there you will die. Now this scripture IS talking about fear, but as someone looking for encouragement, faith building scriptures and scripture to pray into my life, I find this scripture inappropriate. I wanted to love this book as so far I LOVE the journal and have good things to say about that, but the accompanying book was disappointing.
