After college, she moves back in with her family, who don’t want her, so that she can save money for a place of her own. Then she meets HIM.
HE has been trapped for over 200 years, doesn’t remember who he is, and hates all humans until he sees HER. She changes everything for him.

This is a soft, emotional fantasy romance that leans heavy on vibes and character growth. The FMC is deeply lonely, overlooked, and emotionally worn down by narcissistic family, just trying to survive her everyday life. Then she crosses paths with a mysterious, otherworldly MMC who’s been trapped for centuries and cut off from humanity.
The romance is a slow burn built on connection, comfort, and that quiet, you see me when no one else ever has, energy. No insta-love it’s gradual, tender, and emotionally charged. The fantasy elements are subtle but intriguing, creating an ethereal, almost dreamlike atmosphere.
Expect: 🖤 emotional healing 🖤 fate-touched connection 🖤 gentle angst 🖤 romantic tension over spice 🖤 strong setup for a larger story as this is only book 1 of 2
Perfect if you love character-driven fantasy romance, soft obsession, and stories that focus more on feelings than action.
Be prepared the writing style uses more formality in monologue and interaction so it may seem a bit robotic until you are used to the language style.
“Her” by Ashlee Nix starts off by really letting you get to know the characters — it’s slow and emotional in the best way. The action and romance pick up fast in the second half, and the ending? One of the biggest cliffhangers ever. I also loved the Native American aspects and cultural influences throughout the story. Paranormal aspects were also fun. The spice is 👌🏻👌🏻. Can’t wait for book 2!
Wow! Well that was one hell of an ending! I really enjoyed reading this one and warning, it will toss you onto an emotional roller-coaster. ps...I hate the Grandma, period. Worth the read and the follow up is now a must!
This was an interesting read for me. I will say it was a slow pace I found myself not being able to connect with the FMC for like 60 percent of the book. I am glad I stuck with it cause the ending was impactful.
This book was perfect. I loved the FMC, Olive. Her drive and determination spoke to me in a way that felt like this was written for me. Finishing school and going back home to her grandparents with an abhorrent grandmother and a grandfather that just let's things slide to keep HIS peace. Olive is thrust into a new home, but the same degrading atmosphere. But something is different, a presence that she latches onto because it makes her feel safe. This book has it all!
