Ares Once a god. Now a curse. The chalice bound her to me. Soraya is stubborn and reckless enough to sip what should’ve stayed untouched. She should’ve been nothing but a means to an end, a sacrifice to ease my torment. But she’s heat and defiance, pushing back when the world should’ve broken her. I should destroy her. Instead, I want to keep her. And that want might be the very thing that ruins us both.
Soraya I ran from a gilded cage straight into his darkness. Ares is dangerous, cursed, and impossibly addictive. He’s the last man I should want. Yet the only one I can’t resist. I told myself I didn’t need saving. But what if the only way to survive…is to surrender to him? The chalice cursed them. Desire may destroy them. But what if love is the most dangerous fate of them all.
I don’t know where to begin! FIRST let me say that KT Adler has one of the most talented and creative minds I’ve ever come across. THIS BOOK HERE! THIS BOOK HERE, WHEW CHILE’!!! MISS KT I THINK IT JUST MIGHT BE YOUR BEST WORK YET, and considering how much I love your other work, that’s a lot! This book is a whole vibe, and the story execution is spectacular, and it was so engrossing that I read it twice before posting my review cause I wanted to make sure my review captured EVERYTHING this book made me feel! ARES THE GOD OF WAR! A hero, and a villain , and spectacularly delicious as both! Gurl that mind of yours is… I didn’t want this book to end! This is a masterpiece in creativity. What an incredible story. TOTAL CHEF’S KISS!😘
If you’re looking for a smut filled romance fantasy this was a good book. The storyline was simple enough to follow without all the faff. KT also has a great writing style that’s gripping.
Normally I love a little smut but this book had slightly too much because I felt like it interpreted the flow of the plot in some instances. Like don’t back shot it out, talk out the issue, because in certain instances it felt glossed over. I did however love the side characters, found myself snickering at their goofiness.
I wanted to rate the book higher but there were moments where I couldn’t help but think “oh come on don’t be silly”. Especially during the last couple chapters, but I suppose that was fates doing.
I was recommended this book in one of my IR Facebook groups and it sounded intriguing. I will admit that when I first started reading it, I didn’t think I was going to love it. But, that feeling soon went out the window. What I thought was going to a long, slow burn turned into a raging inferno real quick. Soraya and Aric/Ares burned up the pages and the God of War lived up to his name along with the other immortal beings at his side. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. I loved it.
Another great book in the Wanderlust Emporium Series
This is the 2nd book I read in this awesome series! z KT books just keep getting better and better. I loved this story she loved about the god of war Ares being thrown out of Olympus and how he must wait for a human woman to break the curse that Zeus put on him and his mortal. I have always been a fan of Greek mythology so reading thus story was definitely a pleasure. Loved Ares sons i hope KT writes a story about them especially the very end their torture method was chef's kiss.
Hooked from page one, emotionally vulnerable MMC, excellent intimacy, resilient FMC, funny loyal support characters, all the things I expect from a KT Adler book! I was unsure how the formula would translate in a romantasy. Excellence is what that combination created. I was thrilled this book had none of the tropes I find are particularly annoying and pretty common in romantasies. KT Adler is top tier romance in any niche of the genre.
This was a truly mythological beauty. This story was a must read. KT Adler did a wonderful story when she wrote Ares’ and Soraya’s love story. They had a love that transcended mortals and the gods. Ares proved that he would go above and beyond to be with Soraya and would let no one come between them and through it all Soraya approved that she would stop running and fight to be with her man. They both deserved be happily ever after that they ended up receiving.
KT Adler did her thing with this book. It was soo good. I love stories about ancient gods and the supernatural. Ares and Soraya will be added to my favorite couple list. I'm enjoying this series and can't wait to read more. I hope that we revisit this world in another book.
If its one thing I love to see is an author that is improving. This book was amazing. I love how she tied in both the modern and ancient times. This was great.
Loved lived lived Ares/Aric and Saraya's story! How the God of war gives in to his heart's desire and how Saraya gives love a second chance. I love Grek mythology and KT you did an awesome job Shuga Bae of spinning this tale!!!!
At this point I feel like if KT Adler writes it I’m going to read it but she is one of those whole writers who never disappoints me. Apparently this is her first foray into the romance+fantasy space and she knocked this right out of the park. I wish I could own a physical copy! I’ve been waiting on news of her next Lakeshore novel but this the perfect meal to hold me over.
