He’ll torment her soul until she breaks…and humanity until it falls.

When the Daemoni expose their existence to the human race, all Hell breaks loose. Literally. Not only do they walk the world freely, attacking at will, but they’ve infiltrated the highest levels of power in the human world. World War III erupts between countries and species, with Lucas, leader of evil on Earth, orchestrating it all. He even possesses direct control of thousands of human soldiers’ minds, putting himself in position to take over humanity.

Alexis, still young and inexperienced, must lead the Angels’ army to war. But every step she takes is trumped by Lucas, who single-handedly turns the humans against her Amadis. When Alexis and Tristan top every country’s list of Most Wanted Terrorists, they are forced to go underground to fight this war. And their first mission is to free the human soldiers by breaking the link that allows Lucas to control them.

But the Four Horsemen have apparently arrived, bringing the world into the apocalypse. Can Alexis and the Amadis prevent Lucas from taking over humanity? Or is he truly the Antichrist, and the events tormenting the world part of an age-old prophecy that can’t be stopped?

This highly anticipated sixth book of the Soul Savers Series will leave readers in shock, begging for the final installment, Faith.

From book one of the Soul Savers Series by Kristie Cook I have been a fan. I hadn't read a paranormal romance like it, and after the first few chapters of book one I was hooked. Each book in the series has got better and better, and Torment is no exception. I feel like Alexis, Tristan and the Amadis are family. I have run the gamut of emotions from being thrilled and punching the air with joy when they have succeeded in beating evil, to crying when they have been failing, and when beloved characters have been hurt or killed. The cliff hanger of Torment is so brilliantly written, and so devastating that the tears were rolling down my cheeks, and I could barely read the words. I just couldn't believe what was happening. Yet one has to hope that something, anything, can be done to turn things around. I cannot wait for the next and final installment of the series to find out what happens next. Faith will be out in February and the time can't go fast enough for me. I will be very sad to see the series come to an end, but I have to know what happens next. For me the test of how good a series is is how desperate you are to read the next book, and this whole series has been the ultimate test of patience for me. I fully recommend Torment and all of the Soul Savers books!

Flabbergasted!!! Gobsmacked!!! <--- get the picture?
I truly love this series, but I honestly believe our lovely author Kristie has a little Daemoni in her, no...a LOT of Daemoni in her!
You will love this book, but you'll also be hanging on the edge of your seat waiting for book 7 Faith. Luckily we only have to wait until February 16th :)

Who's More Tormented the World or Alexis?

OMG!! Kristie Cook had not been lying when she informed readers this book was a doozy. Thank God the next and final book Faith comes out in a month, because yikes any reader and lover of this series NEEDS the next book, like ASAP!

Sexy Lexy and her crew are up against the apocalypse where nothing seems good or bright in the world. This storyline resounds with the contemporary world in how dark it seems dealing with the wars, death, disease, poverty and terrorism that we face today. So reading Alexis' journey in trying to fight against evil bent on destroying the world through acts of evil, while combating it with acts of good and love is a great way to escape into fiction from reality.

Oh and I must absolutely compliment Cook's brilliant writing ability in being able to describe the places the scenes occur to the point it feels as if I'm there. For example there's a scene in London, Oh I love that city, and she describes an area with a Mcdonald's to a tee. I can personally say I've eaten at that McDonalds, so reading that part I can vouch for Cook's accuracy. It's her accuracy in the imagery that really pulls you into the scene's moment and takes a reader though it so dramatically the reader becomes very enraptured. Especially in an action scene where things get destroyed, people get hurt and stuff happens fast.

Overall amazing book filled with many great moments leading up to the *sniffle, end of the series. Truly this book showed readers how much Alexis can take and how much she truly wants and is willing to work at filling the position of being the Amadis matriarch, now that her grandmother and mom are gone. All I can say is I can't wait till the next book, because with that last bit at the end Alexis isn't the only one tormented.

This was my first response to the end of TORMENT:

At first I was "HOLY MOTHER MARY OF GOD NOOOOOOO TEARS, PISSED, MIND A MILLION MILES AN HOUR.... ,THEN.... I slowed my roll and started thinking of all the scenarios that can happen in Faith. I love to predict the next book"!!

How is that for a cliff hanger of an ending? Well, I love to review my feelings and that is EXACTLY what I was feeling when I finished the book. I am not giving ANYTHING away at all so I feel very comfortable in writing this review. If you are this far into the series, you know that Author Kristie Cook has something MAJOR up her sleeve for us in TORMENT to name the book TORMENT just BEGS to torture us readers.

Book 6 Torment in the Soul Savers series by Author Kristie Cook DOES NOT disappoint! From the very first word on the very first page to the very end, it is not stop so clear your schedule because you will not want to put this book down. This book is an excellent companion to all the soul savers books. One of the best yet. It will captivate, mesmerize and leave you wanting more of the characters on the team. What will Alexis and Tristan accomplish next? As my favorite author, I am biased but the overall experience of her work is brilliant. She will take you to a world that far exceeds your imagination. Absolutely amazing and exciting. It is one you will not want to put down from the very first word. Enjoy!!

Action and Adventure Continue

This sixth book was just okay for me. It seemed to drag in places, unlike the previous five books. Whilst there was still plenty of action, twists and turns and surprise character returns, there was also too much "woe is me" inner dialogue. I felt that Alexis' "I'm a failure" dialogue to herself began creeping in more and more, and it was taking away from a good story. I just wanted to tell her to pull up her big girl panties, and sick it up, after all she's supposed to be the heroine. Everyone else seems to be taking things on stride, and trying to keep boosting Alexis up, but for me, it should be the other way around.

A few characters from previous books make an appearance, which was cool and had me thinking back to where we first met them. The book was fast paced in places and dragged in others, which is so unlike any other book in this series, it was disappointing. The last few chapters redeemed the book for me, with the exception of the constant use of the word "failure" by Alexis. The ending will surprise you.

Overall, an okay read, is in keeping with the past books and is a little lack - luster. It flows okay and is well written, but "failure" is over used. That being said, I will read the final book to find out what happens.

This books parallels the fight against evil where evil 'seems' to be on the ascendency but never underestimate the underdog in these situations. Someone wants all out war and is building an army of huge proportions with lies and cunning in order to annihilate the good guys and it looks like they've got the upper hand but hey when the chips are down and there's a woman in your corner it's not over until the lady says it is! This series keeps getting better and better.

** IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE PREVIOUS BOOKS IN THIS SERIES,  THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS! It is imperative that you read the first five books in the Soul Savers series before starting this book! Although the author does a great job of refreshing readers' memories of some key points,  you'll be totally lost if you're not caught up. **

When we left Tristan and Alexis at the end of Wrath, they had finally gotten their son, Dorian, back after a devastating battle with the evil sorceress,  Kali. A battle in which lives were lost, including that of Alexis' grandmother,  and Amadis matriarch,  Rina, and Alexis' own mother,  Sophia. Oh,  and there was also the small problem of the daemoni exposing themselves to the humans. Fun times.  After such an emotional ending, I waited not-so-patiently for the next installment of this series and could barely contain my excitement at finally being able to sink my teeth into Torment.

I had a feeling that this book was going to be painful. The synopsis sums things up pretty well, so I won't go into too much detail about the story, but it's clear that Lucas was on a mission to make Alexis' life as miserable as possible. To cause her as much pain as he could. Well he sure puts in a valiant effort,  that's for sure.

Nearly a month has passed when we find Alexis again, still haunted by the memories of her mother's and grandmother's deaths. She's ready to take her new role seriously and quickly gets down to business.  Torment actually picks up right where the epilogue left us at the end of Wrath, and Cook wastes no time at all throwing us right into the action, as Alexis and her team do what they can to fight against Lucas. A lot of this book revolves around strategy and plotting,  and, when compared to the nonstop excitement of the previous books, made parts of the story move more slowly for me. That's not to say it was any less enjoyable because of this, though, so don't worry.

It's worth mentioning that,  of course, TRISTAN is back! And he's as sexy,  protective,  understanding,  and perfect as ever. He is one book boyfriend I cannot get enough of, and he was extra dreamy this time around.

I've learned to expect the unexpected when reading this series,  and that stands true for this book as well! There are plenty of moments that will make you gasp, and just when you think you have things figured out,  the rug is pulled out from under you. As usual, I was right there with these characters I've come to love, rooting for them,  and feeling their frustrations at every failed attempt at outsmarting Lucas and his minions.

One thing that this series continues to bring is interesting and loveable supporting characters (if you can even call them that-- they bring so much to the story on their own!), and we get plenty of our favorite characters in Torment. Witty banter and heartfelt moments between them  brought some light into a frustrating and dark time for Alexis and her friends.

The dynamic between Alexis and Tristan this time around was an interesting one.  Alexis is hugely important to her people,  and she depends on Tristan now to support her, to keep her grounded,  to be her rock (though he always has been) during this difficult time in her life. We see a very vulnerable and overwhelmed Alexis, and seeing that side of her made her even more relatable.

The books in this series continue to blend together seamlessly,  which is something I've come to expect and love about Kristie Cook's writing. I've very much enjoyed every book I've read by this author,  and Torment was no exception,  however painful it was to read at times. Cook tugs at your heartstrings with a story full of friendship, love, and loss, that has enough action to keep you turning pages as quickly as you can. Torment seems to set up a lot of what might happen in Faith, and concludes with a ending that you'll never see coming. It will leave you with a lump in your throat, tears in your eyes, and a hunger for the next book. Be prepared for a painful cliffhanger that will require lots of tissues! If you're a fan of the Soul Savers series like I am, then run and pick this one up as soon as possible.

In true Kristie Cook style, book 6 of the Soul Savers Series, is a great read.

***************SPOILER ALERT*******************

In the beginning, Tristan and Alexis are their usual loving selves. The one difference is they have to deal with a pre-teen in their son! (Don't some of us know and understand how one might want to kill their pre-teen but can't because it's illegal!)

Anyway, as the story progresses it appears that the world may be experiencing the apocalypse. The Daemoni have come out and are wreaking havoc all over the world including Amadis Island. Not one to turn tail and run, Alexis, who is matriarch now, takes the situation in hand and decides that, no matter what the odds are, she and her people will fight those evil Daemoni right back to where they belong. It's a hard fight and one that may or may not be won by the Amadis.

In the end a high price is paid to try and keep the Normans safe from the Daemoni and the reader is left shocked to their core.

I will start by saying this rollercoaster is going to leave you on the worst book hangover ever .......
I seem to have waited forever for this book , wrath left me heartbroken Ugly crying or so I thought until this book .
This book made me smile laugh but then when I thought all in the soul savers work was going hunky dori Kristie pulled the rug from under me and brought me back down to earth with a freaking Big Bang .
The story is written in a way that build builds and build you up then Breaks you down bit by bit until nothing is left of you
Ugly crying was a understatement I cursed more than a few time I even shouted no.... Wft she could do this to us I think mrs cook should of heard me in the USA from across the pond in the uk
I was mad angry defeated and officially broken .
This book I think to date is Kristie's best in all of the books
I'm glad we get faith in 1 month as I've tried to read other books and I'm failing as torment just pops in my head again and again
The worst thing is the epic stupid cliffhanger at the end just tell yourself 1month iam constantly saying it
Your going to hate Kristie in a good way , I do its a love hate relationship atm
Well written congrats Kristie fanbloodytastic
I was given and arc to read for a honest review
5 stars isn't enough

Word of warning-- you better have the 7th/last book in this series on hand cause this ends in a very high cliffhanger. Great book with the drama, action, heart pounding events and the few hot parts but this story will keep you up all night with this page tuner, you never know what will happen each and every chapter. All hell has literately broken out on earth from US to London to Australia and everywhere else from there. Alexis and her good guys have to find a way to stop the unstoppable it seams. From her father, the summons their offspring, the cursed, saving her son, the norman any anyone she can try to save. In this book Alexis is so full of doubt that she will fail to save her people, her son and stopping Lucas that she breaks down a lot. Now with hell on earth Alexis and her trusted family/friends are on the run from their island to find the men that are controlling the 'super soldiers' and remove the stones that Lucas and his pet sorceress placed in the summoned men and their offspring to finish out Armageddon that Lucas want and will see to the end.

This book is definitely the best one in the Soul Savers series so far. I loved it! The storytelling has finally achieved the fluidity I was longing for at the beginning of the series.

I really enjoyed Alexis' struggle to fulfill all of her roles. She was attempting to walk a tightrope theoughout the entire novel while balancing her family and the needs of the Amadis and dropped the ball on both fronts numerous times.

Dorian broke my heart at the end of this one. I wish I could have spent some time in his head trying to understand where he was coming from.

Tristan was a gem as usual and I love his character a little bit more everytime he puts the pieces of Alexis' broken heart and broken faith together again.

I have finally developed attachments to the supporting characters surrounding Alexis and Tristan and feel their losses deeply.

With an ending like that there is nothing else to do but continue on to the final chapter. Can't wait to see how it ends and see Alexis finally stand up again and make a final stand against Lucas.

I have been a huge fan of this series for years. Kristie Cook does such an amazing job of bringing these characters to life, that I feel as though they are a part of my family. I was on the edge of my seat the entire read. Trying to find the words to review is so hard because SO MUCH HAPPENS!! I feel like even using descriptive words in my review will give too much away! What I will say is, Kristie Cook will blow your mind repeatedly with this one! And, just when you think she can't hit you any harder...she breaks you into tiny little pieces. I loved, loved, loved it!! Yes, there is a cliff-hanger, but the seventh, and final,*cries loudly* book in the series is coming very soon!! You won't have too long to wait, and honestly, you'll need that time to digest what you've read...it is that EPIC!!

Torment is the perfect title for this book, Wrath left me teary losing Rina and Sophia in one blow and therefore forcing the hand of fate to make Alexis instantly the matriarch. Torment instead gave me an emotional roller coaster with full on tears! I used the wtfff so many times and seriously thinking that Kristie Cook apart from being an amazing writer was truly evil :p I have left myself being Tormented and needing Faith ASAP!! I keep rereading Torment and every time it still leaves me with emotions and a sense of feeling lost as I need the next installment. This is a very well written book with build ups and events you would never imagine could happen, but it also leaves me with the sad truth that there is only one more book to go. The world building and the characters in the Soul Savers Series is like none other I have read, 5 stars does not even do this book justice.

Wow, this is one hell of a book. I can't even begin to describe my emotions while reading it. There is so much action that you are on the edge of your seat the entire time! Torment is one of those books where you have no idea what is going to happen next, and you are scared the entire time for what's around the corner. It seems like there is no way that the Amadis can win this war, and I'm not gonna spoil anything, but there are a few jaw dropping moments where you are going to need to call your therapist afterwards. Get them on speed dial now while you can still think straight.
I think this is the best book of the series and I need to know what is going to happen next....like I need to know right now! Waiting is going to be torture!

Soul Savers by Kristie Cook is, by far, my favorite book series - ever. Torment, Book 6 in this incredible series, does not disappoint. I'll admit, this book is definitely named appropriately. Not only does it perfectly describe what happens in the book, it also perfectly describes the way it made me feel from start to finish! This book takes readers on an emotional roller coaster like I've never experienced before and then, once you think you know what's going to happen? Think again because the freaking UNthinkable happens!

Now that I've finished Torment, waiting for Book Seven (Faith) is proving to be it's own torment! I am so not ready to say goodbye to this incredible series but at the same time, I am DYING to find out what happens next!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. MAN OH MAN! No spoilers here but the series just gets better and better. While the war has begun it is sad that Alexis still can't get it in her head who she is and what she stands for. I wish she was more willing to step into her roll instead of fighting it. Meanwhile those around her are lending their support and the world is doing it's thing and then it ends and BAM you are thrown for a major loop and made to wait for the next book to see what happens. Cook has a wonderful way of weaving a tale and dragging you along kicking and screaming. While I would love to kick Alexis in the tale and get her on board in this situation how many of us would be any different?

This is the sixth book in the series. The author does a great job of getting you invested in the characters; you cannot wait to see what happens next!

As the battle of Good vs. Evil continues....The war is here, who will win?

As Lucas continues to spread his evil around the world, Alexis and her team have no choice but to try to stop him. However, has the apocalypse already started? Can Alexis and her team find a way save her son from going to the Daemoni, the humans from losing their lives and stop Lucas and his evil from taking over the world?

This book, so far, is my favorite of the series! The action, the story line...I could not put this one down. The ending, OMG heartbreaking!

Cannot wait to continue the story

FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!!!

HOLY-FREAKIN-CRAP!!!!

Hands down best book by Kristie so far!! The cliff hanger is a killer but so worth it! Alexis and her team go through hell right after going through so many losses already. The suspense is fantastic, the depth is great and the writing is perfection! Kristie grabbed my attention right from the start and had me hooked all the way to The End and then I about died! Thank goodness Faith, the final book is out next month! I'm going to have "Faith" that the cliff hanger will turn into a positive or I might not survive! Thank you Kristie to amazing devotion to writing and sharing these wonderful characters with us!!!
