Sins of Divinity by USA Today Bestselling Author, Eve Newton, writing as Blake Quinn
Monsters are my job. Rules are my religion.
As a Slayer, I’m trained to hunt what slips through the dark. I was taught to never, ever trust a god. But when an ancient power wakes and brings a wave of destruction with it, the only allies I have left are the three beings I was raised to destroy.
Dreven: the god of shadows, keeps secrets like weapons.
Voren: the wraith god, sees every death before it happens—including mine.
Dastian: the chaos god, smiles like sin and makes breaking rules feel easy.
They say the divine are gone. They’re wrong. If I can’t figure out why they’ve returned, both our worlds will burn.
I should kill them.
Instead, I’m bound to them—by magic, by danger, by a pull I don’t understand.
Saving humanity was simple.
Surviving the gods who want me for their own? That’s the hard part.

So we have all seen or heard or been tortured into watching that whole KPOP movie for a while now right. I mean if you deny you ain’t booped your shoulder one or two times to “Saja boys” then your just living in denial. But the whole world fell in love with those demons. Well now your are give three delicious Gods and one fierce rule following slayer to cleanse the palate. And my lord wha a palate cleanser it is! Nyssa is the only one who can stop the chaos that’s about to be unleashed, but wha she didn’t expect is to have three Gods be her other half to the puzzles. The banter, is cackle worthy. The spice is top notch chef kiss perfection. And the plot… well let’s just say they invented bungee cords for a reason because we’re all left suspended after that cliff hanger.
Sit down and buckle up. Get out your holy water or your buttered biscuits and just prepare your self for a new addiction. And the best part of all… part two isn’t far away!!!
Such a great start to this new series. I was hooked right into this story as soon as I picked it up. I absolutely loved reading about Nyssa who is a slayer. Plus I so cannot forget about the three Gods Voren,Dreven, and Dastian. I so cannot pick a favorite yet. Tons of actions and yes steam. Definitely a phenomenal storyline. Oh I want to read more right now!!! Definitely recommend reading.
This book opens with Nyssa, a demon slayer I immediately liked. She’s competent, sarcastic, and genuinely funny in a way that feels natural, not forced. Her humor doesn’t take away from the stakes. If anything, it makes the darker moments hit harder.
It also becomes clear early on that Nyssa isn’t just a regular mortal slayer. There are signs right away that something about her is different, especially when it comes to blood and how it functions within the world. I liked that the story doesn’t over-explain this and instead lets the reader figure things out alongside her.
As more characters are introduced, the story starts to feel bigger without becoming messy. Ancient forces begin to stir, and it’s clear that some characters were never really gone, just waiting. Dreven, Voren, and Dastian all feel tied to a much older history, and their presence makes the world feel more grounded, not overwhelming.
One of the strongest parts of the book for me was how the MMCs are written. They’re all drawn to Nyssa. Some fall harder than others and that contrast works. I really enjoyed all of them, both individually and in how they interact with Nyssa and with each other. Dreven was probably my favorite.
A big part of the story is Nyssa realizing that what she was taught about the world isn’t entirely true. Things she took at face value start to fall apart and it becomes clear that history itself may have been shaped to benefit certain people. Watching her confront that and rethink her role in everything actually mattered and gave the story real weight.
Overall, this was a strong and really enjoyable paranormal romance. The characters feel intentional, the mythology is interesting without being overwhelming, and the story feels like it knows where it’s going. This was an easy five stars for me and I’ll absolutely be continuing the series.

Wow what a start to this series and what a major cliffhanger to leave us reeling with! Damn! I need a breather after that ending! But at the same time want to immediately read the next two and can’t because they’re not out yet. The struggle is real! I took some time reading this one do to some outside reasons keeping me away, but I’m glad I got to read it because it was great! There was banter, there was sass and there was sexy steaming hot men! 3 of them to be precise! I love how quickly each of them fell for her and her sassy stubbornness! It was exactly what she needed in her life and the men were gobsmacked by her when their initial plans were to use her as a tool! They changed their tune to needing and wanting to keep her alive at all costs, for more than just their mission, real quick! I am so excited for the rest of this series after that heart wrenching ending to book 1!
Banter, danger and spice. What more could you ask for?
I loved this book so much. The interaction between the three gods tell you everything you need to know about how close they are - I mean they haven't spent eons locked in a boring and non fun Pantheon, I'd go a bit 'Dastian' too lol I love that guy sooo much! He's what I would say is 'Quirky' lol.
There's darkness in this book/series so the quips, snark and fun is all very welcome - and the gods do it soo well. Not to mention Nyssa and her sass - she has sass for days, if her knife doesn't kill you, her sass will!
I am eagerly awaiting the release of the second book and I know I'll be rereading Shadow Gods before it comes out, it's THAT good
From page one, I was absolutely hooked!!! Nyssa is a total badass~a paranormal Slayer who takes no prisoners, but everything changes when a routine patrol turns into a collision with three literal gods. Dastian, Dreven, and Voren are pure fire, and the chemistry between them and Nyssa??? Explosive is an understatement 😜 . Between the witty banter, a looming war, and a Council that clearly has some dark secrets up its sleeve, I couldn't read fast enough. If you want a strong, sassy heroine and gods that will make you melt, start this now!
What a start to a new series! This was so hard to put down and be responsible. I loved the flow of this book, it was very smooth. I can't wait to see what is next from Blake Quinn.
This book was very well written, it had quite a few scenes of action, spice and depth, which is nice. I immediately fell in love with Voren. He was sweet, arrogant and patient with our stubborn FMC. This is definitely a must read, I highly recommend. Don't worry I loved the other two MMCs as well, Voren just stole my heart first. But you never know, it might change. (We will have to wait and see)
One sassy, wise cracking and sarcastic slayer - Nyssa and 3 gods - Dreven, Viren & Dastian made for a flaming brilliant kick off to this trilogy. I loved all of the banter that Nyssa had with the guys. It had me cracking up throughout this book. Add some steam and a cheeky cliff - hanger ending. All of which came together to make for a knockout read. I can't wait to get my grabby hands on book 2 now.
What a way to start a new series and world. We Nyssa, a slayer who is born to well, slay and protect the people from what goes bump in the night. And she is damn good at it too. One night changes everything she thinks she knows, and what she has been told, because well people are greedy aren't they? Add is some upset Pantheon Gods tired of being locked away, and well, chaos prevails. You will not put this book down. Enjoy....and grab snacks
What could go wrong when 3 gorgeous gods meet a sassy AF slayer? Well, lots of things actually. This story is the beginning of a must read series by Blake Quinn. Excellent character development that makes you fall in love with the gods immediately and in my case, Dastian in particular. It has a strong female sassy sad lead character. The banter is spectacular! Well placed and needed with this dark story. Don’t wait, start the series now!
Nyssa, slayer for the order, that keeps everyone safe in her little town. Dreven, Dastian, and Voren- 3 Shadow Gods that have busted out of the Pantheon after eons and have met their match. She was raised to kill them. They are here to show her what she thought and was taught isn't always what she was told. The chemistry between them is lake turned into hot springs hot! You need to start reading this now!
This is the first book in a brand new series, and I love it! Nissan is a slayer who hunts the baddies at night. She comes across and idiot doing a ritual, and as a result, meets three hot gods!
This book had so many twists and turns, and the story flows nicely. It's a new take on God myths, and I'm here for it! I can't wait for book 2!!!
One Slayer, whose life mission is to protect her town from vampires, monsters, demons and the unknown, for the Order of the Veil. Three escaped Gods, who want the slayer for themselves and will do anything to have her. What could go wrong?
Shadow Gods is a spicy, fast paced, multi POV first book in the Sins of Divinity series.
This is a nice new series that we get to dive into. We get gods and ancient power and a slayer that will stop at nothing to protect humanity. I love the dark twists and how in each book we get from this author that the men always support their female lead. Can't wait to see what comes next.
Oh my I can't wait for the next book. I was hooked from the beginning. Nyssa and the gods are delicious. Dastian is chaotic, Voren is cold and yummy. And Dreven is all shadowy. All yummy
Blake Quinn knocked it out of the park with this book! The chemistry between the characters is so so good and added to much to the already great story made it hard for me to stop reading and go to work! I can’t wait to see where this story takes us next!
Incredible read! This follows Nyssa, a BA slayer. I loved the chemistry between her amd her gods. Their story is full of action, twists, turns and sass. I absolutely loved the banter. Amazing start to a new series!
This story was amazing! Our FMC is sassy, the banter makes me literally lol, and our mmcs? They are actual Gods! Im dying for the next in the series! Blake is sucking me into this world with every word!
A rule abiding slayer is about to get her world upended! She meets three gods, and what gods they are!! But that’s not the only new thing she comes across. It seems like all hell is breaking loose, and it’s up to Nyssa to stop it. Only problem is, keeping it all quiet so the Order can’t interfere. A totally gripping read. Love Dastian. He is just hilarious, and the banter between them all is so good. I do have one bone to pick with the author, though. Butter on a bacon sandwich?!?! Heathens!!!!
Shadow Gods delivers a dark, slow-burn fantasy romance packed with divine chaos, sharp-edged banter, and one badass Slayer caught between three impossibly hot enemies. Dreven, Voren, and Dastian are each their own brand of irresistible trouble, and watching our heroine navigate fate, prophecy, and temptation is utterly addictive.
Shadow Gods is lush, thrilling, and crackling with divine energy. It’s perfect for fantasy romance lovers who live for high stakes, morally gray gods, and heroines who don’t break, they burn. It grips you, good luck putting it down.
