My Captive’s Heart was TWISTED. i have only one criteria when it comes to short, steamy reads: they must be taboo and unapologetically smutty, and this one delivered with precision. it’s not a story for the faint of heart. please do check the trigger warnings before diving in. between the dilf allure and the bdsm dynamics this is definitely your perfect spooky, toe-curling read.

mind you the boyfriend isnt a jerk, was 1000% nice only flaw he was to vanilla.. when she could've just dumped the dude and fucked the dad. he was already obessed with her.

Girl sure had a craving, dark fantasies if you will, and her boyfriend's dad knew just how to satisfy them better than he could. Emphasis on her boyfriends dad and not ex. Deranged behavior at its finest yet the effort from him was there. It was an overall mindless and smutty filled (90% of the book) good time 👻 all thanks to Alexanders filthy mouth. This novella was filthy, a bit thrilling, fun, unhinged and soo kinky. It was great to end Halloween with it

We all know a Simran book doesn’t miss and My Captive’s Heart was a hit! Honey we started off with a bang literally. Molly your man Matt is the pillow princess in the relationship😊🤭😈 . Our girl Molly loves a good spank on the backside and dear Matty Matt is not up for the challenge, but someone else is, his dad( her new daddy)! Alex is a man who knows what he wants and takes it and Molly. These two were going at it like rabbits. The spicy in this, had my kindle sweating. Petunia said she needed a minute to catch her breath 🥵🥵. When I tell you Simran knows how to do spice, I mean it. It’s magnificent. Not only were they getting it on they were developing feeling and creating an unbreakable bond. The bond was definitely tested but was it broken? I’m not going to tell you, you need to read it. This book was shorter than I use to from Simran but I still had all the feels and went through all the emotions. There are a few twist in this steamy, too hot to handle novella. If you have never read a Simran book you need to read one today! Matter of fact start with this one and then work your way through the rest. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

If there was only one word to the describe this novella it would be: unhinged. If there was a second, it would be addictive.

I picked up A Captive’s Heart thinking it would be a spicy Halloween read to pass the evening. What I got was a full-blown descent into a dark, twisted romance that had me clutching my Kindle like it was oxygen.

The setup? A simple fantasy whispered to a boyfriend becomes a dangerous reality when his father, yes, his father overhears. And he’s not just any dad. He’s the town’s silver fox sheriff with a dark side and a possessive streak that borders on feral. What follows is a whirlwind of captivity, seduction, and psychological tension that’s equal parts disturbing and delicious.

The sheriff, Alex a.k.a. Daddy is completely unhinged and I mean that in the most magnetic way possible. His obsession is raw, his logic is twisted, and his love is terrifyingly absolute. You don’t read this man… you survive him. Molly has harbored a crush for years on Mr. Smith, however believing he didn’t reciprocate she decided to let it go.

Simran knows how to build heat and dread in equal measure. Every scene between Molly and Alex crackles with danger and desire. Even though it’s a novella the pacing never feels rushed. Each moment is deliberate, each twist hits hard.

This novella is DARK and KINKY. There’s obsession, power imbalance, and emotional manipulation. If you’re looking for sweet or redemptive, this isn’t it. The age gap is significant (17 years), and the sheriff’s actions toe the line between protective and possessive in a way that might unsettle some readers. But not for me! I’m all for a corrupt sheriff willing to do ANYTHING to get what he wants.

Molly’s journey from frustration to trust is one of the most compelling arcs in A Captive’s Heart. At first, Alex feels like a threat, a man too intense, too unhinged to be safe. But slowly, Molly begins to see the truth beneath his obsession: he understands her in ways no one else ever has. Her whispered fantasies, her hidden cravings, he doesn’t just hear them, he honors them. Alex doesn’t ask for permission to adore her; he simply does, with a devotion that borders on worship. Every touch, every word, every act is designed to make her feel wanted, claimed, and cherished. And as Molly surrenders to the dark pull of his love, she realizes that being his captive might be the safest she’s ever felt.

Bonus points for the Halloween setting, it adds a layer of eerie intimacy that makes the whole story feel like a fever dream.

If you like your romances dark, messy, intense, and unapologetically steamy, A Captive’s Heart will leave you breathless and maybe a little morally conflicted. Simran doesn’t pull punches on this one!

And the DAD? This MF KIDNAPPED her the second he found out his son was gonna propose. KIDNAPPED. HER. Just to force her to choose him instead of his son. and he’s not even sorry about it. And let’s not ignore the fact that he tried to get her pregnant against her will and he REMOVED her IUD without her consent after DRUGGING her 💀 What the hell.

And the FMC? BITCH How did you NOT realize it wasn’t your boyfriend?! The height? The body? The hands?? All those red flags waving in your face?!!!!

My Captive’s Heart has been on my list for a while now,and i’m glad i gave it a shot.
It may be short,and it may seem to include cheating,but i enjoyed it all the same.
About the cheating,it’s not really Molly’s choice….not at first.
Plus,she was already thinking about breaking up with Matt…..
But what his father did,was the stuff she’d dreamed of,and she loved every second….even if she pretended not to.
I get where her issues lie,but all she had to do,was be honest with herself about what she really wanted.
And she really wanted Alexander…..always had.

As i said,a short read.
One that still gave me what i needed.
A delicious little morsel to clean my palette before i move to other stories…..

This spicy little novella is perfect for spooky season! After all don’t we all have a little cat vs mouse fantasy? Not going to give too much away, going in blind is so much more fun. Boyfriend’s father, it’s always been you, combined with some fun kinks will have you on the edge.
Def some cringier parts and not a lot of plot but honestly, reading this for the vibes is the way to go.

Just know that this is quite unhinged and for the love of all that is good, check your trigger warnings!!

There are couple of reasons why this isn't 5 stars. But they are minor points so maybe I'm too harsh or my standards are unrealistically high. Or I go with my gut and that is ruled by a mercurial mind.

Anyway to the book, if I say what I want to say, there will be spoilers and that would be unacceptable because everyone should come into this novella without any foreknowledge.

Molly has a fantasy that she cajoles her boyfriend into acting out on Halloween. However she finds out that the role of maniac chasing her through a field and taking her savagely was filled by a stand in: Alex - her boyfriend's father and not Matt, the boyfriend.

How do you get over having sex with your boyfriend's dad? Does it make a difference if it was better or worse than sex with your boyfriend? And really what are the next steps in the scenario, which is a crazy relationship in the making. The dynamic at dinner time would be off, that's if someone wasn't going to prison. You can't really call it cheating because it wasn't technically cheating but it's incredibly awkward.

Anyway this plays out fairly realistically. It can't be happy families as one of these men will be disappointed, however the reader won't be.

How weird is it to finish a book that’s 90% filthy kinky smut and have your first thought be “aww that was adorable”. Yes that me, I’m very weird and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. honestly I found the entire plot to be genius, because she goes to a party sees a guy in black and thinks oh that must be my boyfriend because we agreed in a cnc scene (mind you the next day) but she decides to follow and fuck that guy getting her into a whole world a new shit. Aka getting kidnapped by her boyfriend’s dad who’s been obsessed with her for EIGHT YEARS, and guess what? The feeling is mutual because she’s been crushing on him for ages, and when the lines have clearly been blurred and when he makes her come so much she loses track of everything, she has to choose what to do. Honestly amazing plot, some great twists throughout and there were some more angsty parts near the end that had me in tears. Of course the smut was amazing, and so many damn kinks. Theres primal play, breeding kink, and very clear dom sub kinks. Because this man built a whole bdsm dungeon for her because she wanted her own cage and collar. He is setting the standard right here. I loved this and give it a 5/5

Nie miałam żadnych oczekiwań wobec tej książki. Zobaczyłam jedynie na BookToku filmik, że bohater jest ojcem jej chłopaka, a ponieważ bardzo lubię książki o takiej tematyce, od razu zabrałam się za czytanie.

Jak na to, że liczyła tylko 140 stron, naprawdę mnie wciągnęła. Na plus muszę dodać, że ostatnio nie miałam ochoty na czytanie czegokolwiek, a ta książka pomogła mi wyjść z tego zastoju.

Jest bardzo spicy i można powiedzieć, że mroczna. Gdyby była nieco dłuższa i zawierała więcej fabuły, na pewno oceniłabym ją wyżej. Mimo to styl pisania autorki był bardzo przyjemny, dzięki czemu czytało mi się ją wyjątkowo dobrze.

Wow wow wow!! I’m once again blown away by Simran!! She is easily one of my all time favorite authors! Her stories have a way of capturing you and not letting you go until the end!!

This book follows Molly and Alex, and man are they HOTT!! Alex has been obsessed with Molly and had never acted on it especially cause she’s dating his son but when his window was closing and he saw his opportunity oh boy did he take it and it was HOTTTT!! This book was sooo spicy and kept getting spicier I LOVED every second of it!! Especially the forbidden aspect like okkayyy so good!!

I can’t recommend this one enough it’s so good! Please check triggers!
