Some bonds break. Others never will.

–-

The Carter brothers were once inseparable – five boys, one band, and a bond that seemed unbreakable. But it's been ten years since the band broke up and even longer since they left the family ranch and the wide-open skies of Autumn Falls. Fame, secrets and time have left cracks that no one wants to face.

For Bella, the Carters were her first friends and her first heartbreak. Especially Logan Carter, the boy she loved in the quiet moments between music and long summers spent in the apple orchard.

Now tragedy pulls them all back to Autumn Falls. The brothers are fractured, the past impossible to escape, and the spark between Bella and Logan burns as dangerously as ever.

Autumn Falls is a story of family, first love, and the inescapable pull of the place you once called home.

Taylor Gray

Taylor Gray grew up watching too much TV and reading far too much romance. Now she’s a writer, she calls it research. She spends her days scribbling illegible notes in a notebook, dictating into her phone as she walks then trying to decipher the transcription, and wishing she could type as fast as her characters thought. Obsessed with the nature of relationships, working out what it is that keeps us apart and brings us together is something she’ll never get tired of. She lives in a house overtaken by plants and pictures with her husband, son and cat.

Autumn Falls is her first small town romance series featuring the Carter brothers, Jack, Logan, Brodie, Noah and Ethan. Having shot to the fame in their teens when they made up one of the hottest boybands on the planet, the series starts ten years after the band split up. Once as close as any brothers could be, they’re now little more than strangers. Broken, burnt out and dealing with the consequences of fame, it’s only when they come home to Autumn Falls and the ranch they grew up on that they can face the mistakes they’ve made – and the hearts they’ve broken…

Book 1: Autumn Falls – Logan’s Story

Book 2: Silver Sky – Noah’s Story

Book 3: Redemption River – Brodie’s Story

Book 4: Starlight Mountain – Willow’s Story

Book 5: Midnight Promise – Ethan’s Story

The Carter brothers are Logan,Jack, Noah, Brodie, and Ethan were in a band together, Bella has always been a fan of Logan. This was a sweet story. I enjoyed reading about the Carter brothers, and Bella.

Thank you to netgalley, one more chapter and Harper Collins!

I have to say 5/5 stars, I am not disappointed!

I think this was the book I absolutely needed to read just because it gave it all, the drama and the lost and even the found family as well. No family is ever perfect but the carter's for sure would understand how dysfunctional life would get.

With all the drama between the brothers and Bella and all the glam and fame it surely would come down as soon as it blew up but at what cost would it all be? With every choice comes a consequence but what to do when theres an even bigger story besides what you see in the glam shots?

I loved this story of the brothers and Bella and im sure the rest will be just as good too, with a good side of mystery but love but also realism. This book gave it all. I enjoyed reading about Logan and Bella and hopefully the rest of the story will be just as good, no complaints from me.

Autumn Falls is the first book in a new series. This was such a beautiful and brilliantly written novel. I couldn't put it down and I read it in one sitting. I loved the small town place setting and there was a great cast of characters. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

I absolutely loved this story. It was so cute, small town and country & western feel but not smut. I wanted to scream it from the rooftops when I had finished reading it but that was months before the release date so I couldn't.

Autumn Falls is the first book in a five book series and reads like a crossover between The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and Elsie Silver's Chestnut Springs series, minus the spice. Logan was an interesting character to get to know at the beginning but his personal journey became a bit repetitive with his need for control coming up again and again, and the same situations between him and Bella seemingly repeating themselves. Bella's backstory was more interesting but I would have liked to see more of her travels, and how she grew as a person in the times they were apart. The family drama was well-written but the romance was a bit lacking for me - I think it suffered a bit as being the first book, it had to set up everything needed for future books. I also would have loved if the angle of the brothers' experience in the band was explored more as it has so much potential!

The pacing was quite fast which meant there were no lulls in the story and I was interested from beginning to end. While this book wasn't my favourite, I'm definitely interested in reading the others, particularly as Ethan's bonus chapter was so intriguing.

Thank you NetGalley and One More Chapter for the ARC of Autumn Falls by Taylor Gray.

This was a last minute ARC for me that popped up and I'm so glad I gave it the time. Had I not been struck with Flu I likely would have finished it within a day with how much I enjoyed it.

Autumn Falls is the first in a series by Taylor Gray which follows the Carter brothers following the death of one of the brothers. This book follows primarily Logan and Bella with touching upon other characters. We see both struggle against demons from their pasts and trying to work out their futures in the wake of Jack's death.

This story was heart-warming, raw and believable. What I loved most was the amount of male emotional discussion and growth. This is rare for this style of book I've found and it was refreshing and done well. The romance did not overshadow the plot as this was only part of the tale and I appreciated that it was closed door romance.

I really loved this book. When is the next one out???

The prologue drew me in straight away and I got lost in the story immediately, I didn’t put my kindle down until I’d finished every last page.

The complexities of family relationships was really at the heart of this story alongside one of the most perfect second chance romances that I’ve ever read.

I’m literally in love with the Carters ( also Bella) and Autumn Falls and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and find out more about each brother, especially Ethan as he’s intrigued me.

This story is the perfect autumn read.

Autumn Falls is hands down a comfort read. I was flying through the pages and the years wanting to know more about their story, their past, and if they could get their own happily ever after. I can’t wait to see the brothers get swept off their feet in the rest of the series!

This book had everything I love drama, found family, fame, and a great second-chance romance. The Carter family is messy but real, and I enjoyed seeing all the ups and downs between the brothers and Bella.

The prologue pulled me in right away, and I couldn’t stop reading. Logan and Bella’s story was emotional, and I’m excited to read more about the other brothers.

It was the perfect autumn read, full of heart and drama. I really loved it.

I picked up Autumn Falls expecting a light, cosy, small-town romance—the cover, the playlist, and even the charming map had me convinced I was in for a Pumpkin-Spice-Café-style read. What I actually got was a far more emotional story about grief, fractured families, lost love, and the sometimes-painful pull of home.

And you know what? I couldn’t put it down. I devoured this in a single day.

This is the first book in Taylor Gray’s new series and it focuses on Carter, the brother who buried himself in business after the boy band he managed (made up of his brothers) fell apart.

When tragedy strikes and the family is forced back together, Carter finds himself face-to-face with Bella—his childhood best friend, first love, and the one who got away. The fact that Bella later married his late brother only adds more complexity to their reunion.

What follows isn’t your typical romcom.

This is a closed-door book with no on-page steam, and the romance takes a quieter, more reflective path.

It’s layered with grief, difficult truths, and healing—both for Carter and Bella individually, and for the broken bonds within their families.

The small-town ranch backdrop gives it that comforting, autumnal vibe, but the themes run much deeper than I expected.

I really liked Carter and Bella’s dynamic, especially the way their history was explored through difficult conversations and moments of tentative reconnection.

The chemistry was there, but at times I wished we’d spent a little more time with them together—the pacing felt uneven in places, and the ending wrapped up a little quickly for me. I was left wanting just a bit more emotional payoff.

The supporting cast—the Carter brothers—are intriguing, and it’s clear Taylor Gray is setting the stage for future books in the series.

I’m especially curious to see where their individual stories go, given the glimpses we get of their struggles and personalities here.

Despite a few pacing niggles, this was such a heartfelt read. It made me feel for the characters, reflect on family ties, and even tear up in places. I love when a book surprises me, and Autumn Falls definitely did that.

If you’re after a cosy autumn setting but don’t mind tackling heavier themes like grief, family fractures, and second chances, then Autumn Falls is a great choice.

It’s emotional, heartfelt, and a promising start to a new series. I’ll definitely be picking up the next book to see how the Carter brothers’ stories unfold.

With thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Quick Summary: A second chance with a first love romance

My Review: Autumn Falls by Taylor Gray is book #1 in The Carter Brother series. It is scheduled for release on 10/3/25.

About the Book: "The Carter brothers were once inseparable - five boys, one band, and a bond that seemed unbreakable. But...

Fame, secrets and time have left cracks that no one wants to face."

In My Own Words: A love unspoken. A one-sided sibling rivalry. Broken hearts. Secrets and lies. Family discord. A second chance to get things right.

About the Characters: The Carter family proved to be an interesting group. I liked the fact that each member was different and had his or her own unique personality. I also liked how they were shaped by their career, as well as how they were impacted by the parenting situation. The way that the author made the characters so distinctive captured my attention. I found myself wanting to know more.

Bella was challenging to get a handle on, if I'm being honest. I felt for her. I could see her strength. I understood her vulnerabilities. Still, she came across in a shadowed light. It's hard to describe.

Bella and Logan... their love story was a mixed bag. I could see it, but I don't know if I believed it. I think I needed more depth.

About the Conflict: This was the bread and butter for the entire story. Although I don't want to say too much, I will say that the envy/jealousy theme worked. The dark and twisted angle was unexpected, but it served up quite the story.

My Final Say: I liked this book. It set up the remaining stories adequately. While I did not feel a passionate connection between the leads, I did feel like there was something there that had the potential to blossom and become something more beautiful.

The bonus chapter was okay. It was rather vague; I needed more.

At the end of the day, I can say that this series has an appeal. The first installment did alright and set the tone, inviting readers into Autumn Falls and the Carter family.

Other: Readers who enjoy stories with family drama, heartbreak, and second chances may like this novel.

Autumn Falls by Taylor Gray is the first in a series of five books, but can be read as a standalone.

Ten years ago, the world mourned the end of Silver Sky, one of the world's hottest boybands. The Carter brothers made a fortune, much to the chagrin of their father Emmett. He wanted the boys to stay in their hometown of Autumn Falls and carry on the family business, Silver Sky Ranch.

Now, the brothers are in a very different situation. A family tragedy brings (most of) them back together again in Autumn Falls. For Logan, this means confronting his past in the form of Bella, his brother Jack's ex-wife. Bella is dreading meeting the Carters again, but some of them need to hear a few home truths. Especially Logan.

I actually really enjoyed this book. It opened with a playlist, which I love. Lots of Taylor Swift (not unusual for this genre). It is a romance, but the pacing is slow and drawn out, so don't expect anyone to bump uglies until the last quarter or so.

Speaking of bumping uglies, this isn't explicit. It's romantic, but doesn't have any full-on sex scenes. You know what? It was the better for it. There are only so many swinging mickeys and mounds I can read about, and it was a nice change to read a romance set at a ranch without two kinds of riding.

The story is just as much about healing and moving on as it is about love, with both Bella and Logan needing to do some work on themselves as people before they can give anything to others. Logan's relationship with his Dad was poignant and well written. Bella's desire to finally move on and leave her past behind kept me rooting for her throughout.

I also have the next in the series from Netgalley (Noah's story) and I'll happily continue reading. It's exactly the type of easy, comforting read that I need heading into a New Year, and it's nice to be able to recommend a romance series without a ton of explicit spice (so far, anyway, for all I know this Noah lad could be riding from dawn to dusk).

Thanks so much to @onemorechapterhc for the ARC via @netgalley. #SharonReadThis25 #AutumnFalls

~ O livro aborda dramas familiares, segundas oportunidades, fama, inveja e segredos.

An unexpectedly emotional read with a potential for growth.

I’ve seen Autumn Falls described as a mix of One Direction and The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and expected a lighthearted small town romance but I don’t think this really do it justice. The story has a lot more emotional depth than most small town romances ever dare to explore and delves deep into character development of both Bella and Logan - our star crossed lovers.

Autumn Falls is a story of second chances that explores difficult family settings and doesn’t just breeze past them. There’s anger there, and rage, trauma and sadness, and layers of emotional regression and growth I was not expecting. It’s the execution of it that I haven’t fully connected with, but I think it sets up the series quite well.

Moving between timelines could have been clearer - it took sometimes a couple of paragraphs to realise we’re in another timeline or another perspective altogether. And with a rather lengthy timeline but also a 300+ pages only book, there wasn’t enough time to really dig deeply into some of the characters past and current traumas. Dialogue was well done but as is with stories that are more dialogue-led it can leave you wanting more.

It’s most unique take on small town romances ever I’ve seen in a while, so props to the author for taking a different take, exploring character journeys and growth in a way that’s not usually done in such cosy setting.

It’s a solid 3⭐️ for me, and if you love dialogue-led stories that don’t brush off difficult themes, I think it’s worth exploring. Thank you to Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this e-arc.

Oh how I loved this book and these characters. Their story was so touching, I loved every second of it. Bella and Logan have been such a joy to read.

From the day Bella moved into their little town she became a friend of the Carter’s, especially Logan. Doing everything together from exploring to being there when needed they’ve been each other’s constants until they slowly started to pull away…bonds were broken and promises were forgotten..

Now they’re all reunited for a funeral, the funeral of Bella’s ex, who just happens to be a Carter but not everything that’s been said is true, not all is as it seems. There’s hidden truths and a whole lot of hurt and even more lies.

Seeing how distant Bella is from the family that brought her so much joy was just heartbreaking, the things this woman had to go through before finally breaking free, my heart just ached for her but she’s so incredibly strong and I loved that no matter what she’s been through she’s still determined to do what makes her happy. Her light might have been dimmed for a while but it was just sat waiting to shine the brightest it can.

The Carter’s have got me so hooked, each brother has me so intrigued. I am so ready for books from all of these siblings especially the mysterious Ethan, I need his story!

This is a new to me author and I am so beyond thrilled I was given this ARC to read. It’s been so exciting! I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4

The first book in an interconnected series follows Logan and Bella, two friends who grew apart but came back together after a long journey. Set between the small town of Autumn Falls and New York this is a cute romance.

Logan became a superstar with his four brothers in a boy band - then lost his way. Bella who was best friends with Logan had not had it easy either. A marriage that didn’t go to plan (check trigger warnings) all she wants to be is left alone.

Tragedy strikes when one of Logan’s brothers passes away which brings both Logan and Bella back to Autumn Falls and face to face with one another.

This book is about self discovery, healing and moving forward. There is a lot of past trauma with the two and feelings that need to be looked at before the happily ever after.

I liked that this was a gentle romance read, it was more about the characters and their journey rather than a typical romance book. There was some kissing towards the end but this was it.

I would definitely continue the series as I’m interested to see what happens with the rest of the Carter siblings end up.

Please check triggers warnings for this book. There is mention of domestic abuse (not graphic) gambling, substance and alcohol abuse, death of a parent, death of a sibling/child

I want to preface this by saying I think the book had a lot of really strong ideas, but the execution just didn’t land for me. One of the biggest issues was that it wasn’t dual POV. Without that, it was difficult to differentiate between flashbacks and real time, or even to tell whether the exchanges between characters were playful banter or genuine conflict.

The storyline about the fractured family had potential, but I felt like there wasn’t enough context or depth to keep the ending from feeling rushed. It also seemed as though everyone was unfazed by Jack’s behavior yet quick to ostracize Bella, which felt unbalanced.

On the positive side, I thought Logan was a fantastic character, and Bella was strong as well I just wish there had been more exploration of their dynamic and of the relationships in general. I also found the setting a little confusing. While I picked up on the ranch backdrop, the language and inner monologue often felt more British or European, which didn’t quite match the environment.

Overall, great ideas and characters, but I was left wanting more clarity, depth, and cohesion.

If you like shows such as The Walter Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty or Virgin River, you'll love this!

The first of a 5 book series from Taylor Gray, we are introduced to the Carter brothers. This book focuss on the eldest brother, Logan and the aftermath of a tragic event which pulls them back to their hometown, Autumn Falls, after years of boyband success and celebrity.

I was expecting quite a light, small town romance but some of the themes in the story are intense and are written in a very credible way.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and getting lost in a small town for a few days with these characters! Looking forward to book 2!

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5 stars) (I rounded up)

Despite its sweet cover, cozy map, and playlist, Autumn Falls turned out to be a much more emotional read than I expected. The story tackles some heavy themes, grief, complex family dynamics, and even domestic violence, woven into the backdrop of a small-town ranch and first loves.

This is a closed-door book with no on-page steam, which makes it quite different to The Pumpkin Spice Café. I think that comparison might set readers up for the wrong expectations, since this isn’t really a romcom/cozy vibe at all (apart from the charming small-town setting). Instead, it’s a more layered and serious story about family fractures, lost love, life-choices, and the pull of home.

I enjoyed the premise and the characters, but the pacing felt a little uneven for me. I wanted more time with Carter and Bella, especially considering how their story wrapped up, it left me wishing for a bit more emotional payoff.

Still, this was a heartfelt start to the series, and I’m curious to see where the Carter brothers’ stories go next.

Thank you NetGalley, One More Chapter, and Harper Collins for letting me read an advanced copy of this book

I really liked the book overall - I thought the dynamics and the relationships explored through the brothers and how their background in the band and parenting has impacted all of them and the careers they went onto do afterwards. I feel it has set up the rest of the books in the series well and I cannot wait to see how the relationship between them all develops and changes.

This was a second chance at a first romance book and while I did like the dynamic between Bella and Logan but I feel like it still needed a little more to really believe it.

I do wish however that the time jumps were made clear at the start of a chapter which might have helped with how I found the pacing of the relationship as sometimes it was not always clear that time had passed and how much time when reading.

🍁 Autumn Falls ended up being a lot more emotional than I expected. With the pretty cover and small-town ranch setting, I thought I was in for a cute romcom, but this book definitely goes deeper. It deals with grief, complicated family ties, and the kind of past mistakes that don’t just disappear. So while it has those cozy fall vibes, it’s definitely more drama than fluff.

I liked Bella and Carter a lot, and their second chance story pulled me in, but I wished their relationship had a little more build-up and payoff. Some parts of the story moved too quickly, while other parts dragged, and I kept wanting more details about the brothers since they’re clearly going to be important later.

That said, I flew through this in one sitting because the family drama kept me hooked, and I love a messy, emotional small-town romance. It’s a solid start to a new series, and I’m curious to see where Taylor Gray takes the Carter brothers next.🍁

What a lovely read.

Logan has grown up with his 4 brothers and family friend Bella. The attraction between Logan and Bella is undeniable, which is tested when Logan and his 4 brothers apply for a talent show, are successful and form a boy band called Silver Sky! Once they’ve completed this project, the split off into their own individual projects where they make or break their own success solo career…all the while Bella feels left out and left behind until a tragic accident brings them all back together to figure out a new pathway that involves them all getting back in touch with their roots.

Slow burn between Bella and Logan with no spice but it was a smooth read where you can’t stop turning the pages. You want to find out about the other brothers - especially their traumas and how they’ve made her life with little input from their father who’s wants them to take over the family ranch!
